At had all happened so fast... The death of the trigger, the appearance of the shades, and Cinder's betrayal.

"I-I played right into their hand..." Axel mumbled in disbelief as his brother grabbed Cinder and sped off into the city, whilst Zane and the royal guard began to engage Obsidian. Glancing towards the emeralds that still floated at his side, he took notice of the sickly color they had turned open taking in the negative energy released from Obsidian's aura. What had he been thinking? Of course they had been using the trigger to power the barrier... How else would they be able to sustain something so powerful for so long. He had let the power of his emotions cloud his vision, and now the entire city was paying for it.

Just then, a titanic roar shook the castle, causing Axel to look up towards the massive pillar of flame that hoisted Iblis above the city. Setting his sights on the flaming beast, Axel immediately regained his purpose. "There's no turning back now..." He growled to himself before addressing Chimera, Alex, and Cynthia. "Let me handle Iblis!" He had caused this mess, and now he had to see it through to the end. "I'll destroy him before Mephiles ever gets a chance to become whole..."  He'ed end this madness and avenge his parents here and now, even if it killed him.

Channeling the fresh negative energy stored in Silver's chaos emerald, Axel used it to form a Chaos True Lance before grabbing the now purified emerald and placing it back into his pocket. With a grunt, the prodigy hastily dashed up a nearby wall before jumping through the large hole in the castle's ceiling. Landing on the roof of the building, Axel cocked his arm backwards before sending his True Lance flying up towards Iblis.

"Monster!" He called out to the beast just as his attack struck it's armored hide. A massive explosion of cyan energy lit up the sky as the condensed chaos blast detonated, leaving a large cloud of smoke in it's wake. Axel shielded his eyes as embers began to rain form the sky.

Within moments, a second roar shook the city. Axel's eyes widened in panic as Iblis's massive form ripped through the smoke, and the flaming creature came charging down from the heavens with its maw open wide to reveal a core of searing magma. It seemed that he had gotten it's attention...

With only moments to react, Axel warped to the far side of the building just before Iblis could devour him. Unable to halt it's charge, the monster was sent barreling through the castle's north tower, crumbling it with ease and sending burning debris raining down onto the building bellow. Rising from the rubble, Iblis let loose another earth shaking roar before exhaling a monstrously stream of fire towards Axel.

"Not good..." Axel gasped before breaking of into a sprint across the rooftop. With the massive wall of flames at his back, the young prodigy used his natural speed to run up the side of the buildings south tower, only barely avoiding being burnt alive. Doggedly pursuing it's prey, Iblis tilted it's head upwards to allow the flame to travel up the building after Axel.

With searing hot pyres at his back and rapidly gaining speed, the white hedgehog began draining the negative chaos energy from the remaining emerald as he neared the tower's peak. Glancing across the roof at the hulking abomination of rock and flame, Axel recalled the stories Silver had told him of his own battle with Iblis. "I need to aim for the eyes!" He reminded himself, whilst forming another spear of condensed energy.

Leaping off the tower just as Iblis's flames would have washed over him, Axel sent his javelin of light barreling towards the third eye on the center of the creature's face.

"Chaos True Lance!"

Alex was relieved to see that her efforts have been for nothing as Axel rose to his feet with no scratch on him whatsoever. However the events that came after seemed to have gone extremely fast; Cinder's betrayal, Iblis's release, the attack on the city. Alex's mind seemed like it was about to overload, the familiar screams of innocents dying to Mephiles' hands were not helping either. Ken had charged straight into the city with Cinder, Axel was going toe-to-toe with Iblis, and Zane was fighting against a dark infused hedgehog, leaving Alex and the others by themselves.

She had to do something, she couldn't let another city die to these monsters, she was weak before but now she had a chance, especially with others by her side. "I'll help Ken down in the city, you two need to help Zane and Axel, we can't be fighting separately... We need to fight together!" Together... That's a word Alex never thought she would say. Daggers in hand, Alex rushed in the direction Ken went, she had to save as many as she could... Plus she had a score to settle with a certain black cat.

What a mess, and here Cynthia thought that there was peace in this city like in Cha'Aqua, she was just about to take a breather on the carrier. Now they have a traitor amongst them in Cinder, poor Tiff dead on the floor, a giant lava monster erupting from Tiff's corpse, a dark psychopathic hedgehog, and an even darker and more psychotic hedgehog ravaging the city and attacking innocents. Yep... One heck of a mess.  Axel was at least alive and well, he was even duking it out with the flaming beast of doom that was deafening everyone with its screeches and roars. Zane was going toe-to-toe with this Obsidian freak and Ken was more than likely giving Cinder the ride of her life straight into a building. "I'll help Ken down in the city, you two need to help Zane and Axel, we can't be fighting separately... We need to fight together!" Wow... Even the cat was willing to go at this, her new healing power would be useful for saving the people down below in the city. Cynthia gave an approving nod and hopped on her extreme gear, but before she took off she turned to Chimera.

"Chimera... I'm... Really sorry about Tiff... You two actually looked cute together, in a weird way... Let's give these freaks a run for their money, for Tiff's and everyone else's sakes!" And with that, she rode off towards Iblis. Cynthia had no idea how she was going to help Axel with this thing but she had to try. "Yo Axel! Cavalry has arrived!" Cynthia morphed her arm into a metal blade and sped around Iblis, slashing at it and speeding off before it could retaliate. "Let's bring this overheated lizard down!"

  • 2 weeks later...

"Mr...Chimera?..." Tiffany's voice rang out softly, causing Chimera's head to turn. He could see fire coming from her stomach, and the life dying from her eyes. Yes... she was an organic... like everyone else in this room. They would soon die... and he would live on, a metal immortal. He reached out as she fell over, and finally died. He wasn't sure what he felt at the moment. It was sadness, but not the same kind of sadness he had back at the Eggman Base. He barely knew her, and he felt sorrow... it was strange.

Everyone began to split up, running off, but not before Cynthia offered words of... something. "Chimera... I'm... Really sorry about Tiff... You two actually looked cute together, in a weird way... Let's give these freaks a run for their money, for Tiff's and everyone else's sakes!" Cute...? What did she mean about that? He watched Ken fly out of the building, taking Cinder with him. Cinder...

As the battle raged around him, he just walked, pass the fighting and out of the wall. He passed by the destruction, ignoring the screams, the flames, the giant monster. He just kept walking, feeling as dead and robotic inside as he really was. Soon, he found Cinder, embedded into the wall, and unconscious. He said nothing as he walked close to her, before transforming his hand into a gun, pressing the cold barrel against her forehead.

An eye for an eye, a life for a life.

And with that thought, he fired.

Dewdrop City

The sky burned a bright red, as the heat dripping off of Iblis could be felt throughout the city.  The denizens of Dewdrop panicked, flooding the streets with not a thought about what to do besides run amok in the streets.  It was chaos.  Ken couldn't concentrate, and he lost focus of the control over the third gate.  The intense aura from before had subsided.  He couldn't potentially harm the civilians, so it was for the best anyways.

In the distance, he could hear cries from across the city, and a familiar, malicious laugh.  Mephiles...

Ken bolted in the direction where he had heard the laugh, and found a wad of shades cornering children.

"Really Mephiles...Children?!"  In sync, all of the shades turned to Ken, squinting their eyes fiercely.

"Age is of no concern when it comes to violence hedgehog!  Now die!"  While a large number of Shades jumped Ken, three stood near the group of kids and prepared to slash at them with claws of black.  The shade's piled up, but when they separated, Ken was nowhere to be found.  Instead, he stood in front of the three shades, who were now sinking into the ground.  They disappeared in a pool of black shadows.  "Impossible!"  They shouted in unison.  Ken's fist tightened.

"You know...I thought so too...until you pushed me to this point."  In the blink of an eye, Ken whizzed past the blob of Shades.  "Honestly, I should thank you...for giving me the strength..."  In the same amount of time it had taken Ken to go from the kids through the shades, pummeling sounds could be heard among the blob.  The shades had been taken out in such a short amount of time

"To protect them..."

Ken hurried towards the kids, and shooed them inside an open building where an Armadillo escorted them inside.

"Keep them safe...and stay in doors.  Everything is going to be alright!"  The Armadillo nodded as Ken ran off again through the city.  Every shade he came across was instantly dealt with.  In the back of his mind, he hoped the others were doing just as well.  However, when he looked back at the towering flame monster that was Iblis, he couldn't help but shudder in fear.

IsOSufc.png

The spear whirred through the air, as it finally made contact with flesh.  The tearing of skin and muscle could be heard, as Obsidian's arm was pinned against the wall, the black orb fading from his palms.  A black blood dripped down, as Obsidian let loose a blood curdling cry.  Using Telekinesis, Anais hovered in front of the black hedgehog, placing her heel on the end of the icy spear.  She twisted her foot so that the spear dug it's way deeper and deeper into the hedgehog's wound.

"I was careless...you almost had the advantage with that tactic of yours."  She then took her sword, and ran the blade through Obsidian's other arm.  Another scream ran through the throne room.  "Trash...you are insignificant trash.  And you will be dealt with just as the rest of it....Turk!"  Letting go of her telekinesis, she dropped to the floor quite a distance.

"Yes, your highness!"  Turk shouted, as he had finally gotten a stable footing on the ground.  He was no longer struggling against the black orb, but now held it firmly in his hands.  "Catch little man!"  Turk trumpeted as he threw the Dark Chaos Orb right back towards Obsidian.

"Long live Mephiles!  Long live Mephi-"  Were his last words before the black orb of Chaos completely enshrouded the hedgehog, blasting through the castle walls.  All that was left was Anais' sword, which she promptly went to grab.  She looked towards the towering inferno that still lay in the chamber.  Tiffany's body had since vanished, probably absorbed by the flames that now fueled Iblis.  She walked up to Zane, and flashed him a cold stare.

"You...I suppose I should thank you for saving my life."  She lifted her rose eyepatch to display her rainbow iris.  She nodded slowly, and placed her patch back into place.  "N-Now...let us find a way to stop this monster!"  As she passed him by, Zane could see the faintest trace of a blush on her face.  An ominous roar shook the palace.

IsOSufc.png

She had regained consciousness...somewhat.  She could here the footsteps of a heavy...metallic being.  Was it the robot?  She almost smiled.  As he approached, she looked upwards from her spot in the wall.  He placed a barrel against her head, presumably a gun.

"Well?  What are you waiting for..." she wheezed.  "I'm already dead anyway.  Your friend there...pretty much broke all my bones..."  She cackled for a moment before spitting up more blood.  "But don't think it'll make you feel better robot...They're all dead already.  Iblis is reborn, and Mephiles can take over this city...What can you do besides watch and bur-"  A shot rang out, and Cinder's voice was silenced...forever.

IsOSufc.png

The insects that flew around Iblis had so far proven to be quite the nuisance.  He felt no pain as one of the fleas slashed at him with a pathetic weapon.  However, the one that faced him in the skies.

"Chaos True Lance!"

With those words, a large blast of chaos energy was sent careening towards his face.  Iblis tried to avoid it, but with his lumbering mass, the attack hit him in the corner of his largest eye.  Iblis let out a roar, which was followed by flames, that was sent in every which direction, seeing if he could scorch any and all insects in his vicinity.  He chucked a large fireball from his mouth that was sent blazing towards Cynthia, only for it to be stopped in it's tracks by some sort of force.

Anais had made her debut on the scene atop of the castle, alongside the royal guard.  Her rainbow iris was now shining, presumably stopping that fireball from reaching it's final target.  She looked towards Cynthia, a stern look painted across her face.

"Do you want your arms to melt?!  I advise not coming into direct contact with Iblis unless you want your life to end sooner!"  Anais' blade was coated in a shining hue, as she lunged it towards the monster's torso.  A small, thin beam of light was shot from the tip.  As it made contact, the glow from the light could be seen travelling through Iblis' body, and shooting out of his left shoulder.  Iblis roared in pain once more.  From atop a tower, Turk proceeded to hurl chunks of broken castle at Iblis' face.  However, it didn't do much besides get the beast's attention.  In a flash above Iblis head, Blaze and Milo returned from wherever it was they had vanished off to in the first place.

"Saw that attack kid..."  Milo said, flashing a smile towards Axel.  "Now lemme show you what a master can do!"  Hovering in the air with some kind of air boosting shoes, Milo shot his hand up towards the sky.  "CHAOS JUDGEMENT!"  He shouted, as a large beam of rainbow energy came and pierced through the clouds.  It clashed against Iblis' head, as sparks of chaos shot from where it made contact.  Iblis roared, but that's all it could do.  This pillar of energy kept a constant flow on his body so forceful that he could not move.  Meanwhile, Cynthia and Turk kept up their own assaults on the monster.

"This is it...we can kill him..."  Blaze started to weep.  "We'll finally be rid of this evil...How I have longed for this day..."  She had trained her royal guard for Iblis containment, should a breach ever occur, but her guard was performing to magnificent standards.  She flung out her hand to give the order.

"FINISH IT!"  She cried.

Chimera lowered his arm, watching Cinder die. The deed was done. That was easy... he watched the blood soak the ground and he was filled with another emotion. He couldn't explain it... but... it just felt... right. Killing this cat... he should do it more.

He turned around and walked away, headed back to the castle. There was a giant monster of lava and fire destroying the city, and he was going to deal with it. He doubted his conventional weapons would work. They were too small.

Good thing he had a bigger gun.

The robot climbed into the Egg Carrier, starting up the engines. It was time to fly.

Zane got excited when his icicle spear made contact with Obsidian's arm, hearing the hedgehog screaming in agony. "Looks like that'll stop him for a while." he smirked, before seeing Anais literally stomping on the icicle and then stabbed her blade into Obsidian's other arm. He cringed a little before shaking his head. "Yeah...DEEEEEEEFINITELY gonna stop him."

The arctic wolf only watched as Turk chucked the Dark Chaos Orb back at its master, watching him being blasted through the castle walls. "Annnnd he's outta here. Nice throw!" he flashed a thumbs up at Turk, who simply nodded at him. However, before he could move, Zane saw Anais walk up to him and flash him a cold stare. Oh good...another hedgehog with a cold stare...it's Axel all over again. he thought.

"You...I suppose I should thank you for saving my life.N-Now...let us find a way to stop this monster!"

"Um, not a problem." Zane said, watching her quickly walk past him...only to notice a small trace of blush coming from her. He could only smirk a little at this...

"CHAOS JUDGEMENT!"

Zane got up where Axel and Cynthia were, seeing the moment when Milo performed this attack. It shown a beautiful rainbow light show in the area of a beam as it struck the demonic looking creature. However everyone was doing what they could to stop it. And right there stood Axel. The arctic wolf slowly moved towards the ivory hedgehog, smirking as he rubbed his hands a little bit.

"FINISH IT!"

"Hear that Axel? She just gave out a huge order." he smirked before giving Axel a thumbs up. "Best hit him with everything ya got." Zane chuckled before standing away from the hedgehog some, before summoning the moisture in the air...he knew there wasn't much...but he had to at least get enough. Whatever little bit would help.

His gaze fixated on Iblis and he smirked. "Hope you enjoyed waking from your nap...cause its ending here!" he said, before putting his hands together and smirking. "FINAL.....FREEZE!!!" Zane unleashed a blast of icy energy towards Iblis, however unlike the last few times he used it...it didn't have enough force behind it, due to the lack of moisture in the air from this fiery beast. Still...it was something...

Everything started to work in everyone's favor, Cynthia flew up a bit to catch a glimpse of Iblis getting ganged up on by everyone, Ken and Chimera were really missing out. The giant, flaming beast actually looked like it was getting weaker with every second the group was hitting it.

"FINISH IT!"

As soon as Blaze had given the order everyone started hitting Iblis with everything they got, but what could Cynthia do? Its not like she had some, super special attack of her own. "Ah well, if it ain't broke..." She pulled out two quills from her head and extended them into metal javelins. "Don't fix it, Here I come!!" Cynthia flew up as high as she could and then proceeded to dive bombed straight at Iblis. Just as she reached maximum speed, she threw the two javelins straight at Iblis's eyes and pulled up. As she pulled up, the slipstream behind her extreme gear curved and was send along with the javelins, giving them even more force. "Don't blink."

"Hear that Axel? She just gave out a huge order." Zane appeared on the roof as the other warriors launched their attacks on Iblis. Finally getting a good look at the wolf, Axel could clearly see the difference in his power. He had grown so strong so quickly, it was almost like he was being approached by a different person...

Though one thing remained the same. The white hedgehog was put at ease by his friend's trademark smirk and as he watched Cynthia skillfully dance through air with her usual zeal Axel felt a new resolve. They hadn't forsaken him... Ken and the others would still fight by his side, even though he had contributed to this mess.

"Best hit him with everything ya got."

Zane prepared his signature technique, though it was drastically weakened form the monstrous heat that lingered in the air from Iblis. Stepping forward, Axel moved his right hand over Zane's shoulder, whilst also moving his left so that hung over Zane's open palms.

"FINAL.....FREEZE!!!" Zane cried.

"Like this, right?" Axel grunted as he began feeding is own chaos energy into the wave pure cold, causing it to grow in size. Taking a moment to learn the inner workings of the attack, Axel closed his eyes before suddenly letting out a cry of his own. "Arident Gale!" Mimicking the Final Freeze within itself and throwing his own unique spin on it, Axel synced his power with Zane's to create a massive wave of raging frost and ravenous chaos energy that tore through the air on a path towards Iblis.

Though despite the moment of camaraderie with Zane, something flickered in the back of his mind. As the battle raged on around him, Axel's senses began stir and a looming sense of dread began to creep over him. A disturbance in the chaos force... Where had he felt this feeling before?!

Dewdrop City

As Ken ran through the city, obliterating any trace of Mephiles he could, he looked back over to Dewdrop Castle, where that monster still resided.  Ken's shivering became more intense.  Was he up for this fight?  Was there anything they could do against one of the old gods?  Mephiles didn't scare Ken anymore, but Iblis was raw power.  Nature unleashed!  No one could possibly tame that.  However, a glimpse of hope flickered in his eyes, as he saw Axel and Zane both doing their best to keep the monster at bay.

"Wow...maybe I am a coward..." Ken sulked.  Looking up from where he was running, he had almost ran into Alex.  She looked to be coming from the castle, a ferocious look in her eyes.  Before she could even speak, Ken avoided her eyes.

"I know you had some sort of rivalry with her...Cinder I mean..." He said slowly.  "But...But I just had to end her!  I just had to make sure no one else got hurt!"  His fists tightened.  "I'm sorry if you had other plans...but I was just so angry."  He clasped his hands together, and pleaded in front of her.  "I'm sorry Alex!  Forgive me!"  He was truly sincere, and he meant every word.  As a roar shook the ground beneath them, Ken looked up again.

"We should meet with the others!  They can't finish this alone!"  With that, Ken took off.  He motioned for Alex to follow behind him.  As he blazed through the streets, he could still feel his hands trembling.  He would face the monster who had destroyed his home so long ago!

IsOSufc.png

As a plethora of attacks hit him, the beast roared and reared it's despicable head.

"It's working!"  Milo shouted out, his column of rainbow chaos still colliding on top of the creatures head.  "He's fading!"  It was true.  The scarlet fires that composed Iblis were slowly turning into an ash gray, almost like that of soot from a volcano.  The icy beam that both Zane and Axel had launched was now truly damaging Iblis.  The demon's chest was now being encased in ice.  The metal rods that Cynthia had thrown also made their mark, shoving themselves deep into Iblis' eye.  The beast made one final attempt to swing it's enormous arm towards Cynthia.  However, Turk was there to catch the lumbering limb, causing a massive shockwave that pushed most everyone back.  Turks arms noticeably struggled to keep Iblis' own limb in check, as veins sprouted from the surface.

"INHIBITOR OF BODY!"  The elephant Trumpeted.  Turk's body steamed, as his muscles bulged. He forced the monsters arm back, making it clash with it's own jaw.  As soon as the arm left Turk's grasp, the steam evaporated and his body returned to normal.  He strained to keep himself up, but quickly collapsed on the castle ceiling.

Iblis, shook from the brunt of the attack he had been confronted with, wobbled back and forth.  Giving one final, albeit weak, roar, Iblis collapsed on top of the Dewdrop Castle.

"It's over..." Blaze gasped, tears running down her cheeks.

"It's over..." echoed Anais.

"Finally..." Turk gasped, breathing heavily.

"Do we get a break from all that 'Iblis Containment' training now?"  Milo snickered.  He stopped, and his nose twitched.  Milo looked towards the sky, the chipper look on his face was now replaced with dread.  "Oh god...no...."

A voice from above rang out, cast across all of Dewdrop.

"Oh me...yes..."

IsOSufc.png

The sky got immensely brighter, almost too bright for anybody to keep their eyes completely opened.  From afar, but rapidly approaching, Ken continued blindly.  Something truly terrible was about to happen...he could feel it.  Or at least Axel felt it...and Ken was receiving it via some weird Twin Tele-empathy.  He stepped up his pace.

On top of the Citadel's roof, a small pillar of flame, that closely resembled the one Iblis had appeared from, rained down from the sky.  It splashed down to where Iblis' still head now lay.  Mephiles the Dark stood with a small, but vivid, flame in his hands.  Milo descended to the roof, alongside Blaze, Turk, and Anais.

"This can't be...You can't be!  I thought you were only a legend...only a blip in a book!"

The flame casually wandered out of Mephiles' hand and slowly approached Iblis.

"My my...you poor, miserable creation of mine.  How far you have fallen to be overcome by such mongrels.  SUCH VERMIN!"

The voice shook the roof, as did Iblis' roar prior.  Iblis body regained it's scarlet pigment.  However, the behemoth refused to budge, just as lifeless as it was when it collapsed.  Similarly to when he had been summoned, Iblis' body condensed forcibly.  It was as if the vivid flame were conducting the ritual that transfers Iblis to a trigger.

"Ahhhh...I can feel it...my power comes back to me!"

As Iblis slowly began to vanish from the eyes of the spectators, the flame that had stood their for so long was now growing larger, and taking shape.  It's form grew into that of a Mobian, around Axel's height.  Flame's licked and danced around the tips of his fur, and his eyes stay closed.

"As you can see," The being spoke confidently, "You were all made in my image."  At this moment, Milo realized what they were up against.

"Gwynn...the first Sun of Mobius..." he spoke, as if awestruck.

"Ahhh...maybe I wasn't forgotten after all.  But it is much too late for that now, isn't it."  Gwynn stretched his new hands and fingers, and kicked his feet against the ground.  "I see...So i'm not even near fifty percent..."

"GWYNN-!" Milo interjected, "Why are you here on Mobius?"  Gwynn looked surprised...almost flabbergasted.

"How brave of a Mobian like you to question a god like me?"  Gwynn cracked his neck, while delivering a faint smile.  His eyes now opened, revealing deep red irises.  "Isn't it obvious Mobian...I have come to rekindle your bond to me!  I have come to make sure you are in check!  I have come to make sure that the name Gwynn rings out all through the land, just as it did many millennia ago!"  Gwynn stretched out his hands.  "And I have come to make you all worship before my feet...lest you pay the ultimate price."

From behind Milo, Blaze emerged.

"Gwynn...you trespass on Royal Dewdrop grounds.  As the Queen of Dewdrop, I command you to remove yourself at onc-"  A ball of fire instantly encased Blaze, and was flung into a hole in the castle's wall.  Gwynn stood across from the royal guard with one arm outstretched.

"I see...you mortals are more arrogant than I initially hypothesized.  Very well...a demonstration of power is in order."

"That's right!"  A voice rang out from behind the group.  "A demonstration of mine!"  Ken ran alongside the wall of the building, his strides destroying the stones that layered the castle.  The pressure he was putting off, it was as if he ran here with his third Inhibitor unleashed.  Ken cocked his fist back, and went to unleash a punch directly in Gwynn's face.  Mephiles' was thrown aback by the lack of precaution in this hedgehog.  Was this the one who had destroyed his shades?  Come to think of it...this whole group on top of this building were very familiar.

Another shock wave permeated the air around the opposing groups.  When the dust settled, Ken noticed his punch hadn't reached Gwynn's face.  Rather, it only went up against a single finger of the flaming Mobian.

"Hmmm...amusing..."  Gwynn retracted his finger, and proceeded to place it against his thumb.  In a flash, he flicked Ken with such force, that he was sent careening into the castle wall, crashing through it.  Gwynn cackled, as if he was told a joke for the first time in a million years.  "You mustn't be serious!  A pathetic hedgehog with no connection to the chaos force whatsoever dared to challenge me?!  What have you mortals been doing since I was gone!"  It looked like Gwynn was crying from laughter, but what were tears were actually small drops of lava that sizzled on the castle.  After taking a deep breath, Gwynn stuck both of his hands out again.

"Well...anyone else feel like being sacrilegious?"

Watching as his brother was sent flying backwards, Axel bared his fangs and growled towards Zane and Cynthia as he stepped forward with his fists bawled tightly. "Hang back, and I'll try to create an opening using Chaos Control..." The white hedgehog began as he eyed Gwynn. "The shifts will seem instantaneous. Your window will be brief. But you need to hit him with everything you have when the time comes..." This creature was on a level he'ed never thought possible, and it was painfully clear that if they all charged in blindly every last one of them would be killed on the spot. Glancing back at Zane he offered a rare word of assurance. "Remember, trust your instincts."

"Well...anyone else feel like being sacrilegious?"

"Chaos Control!" Axel's voice sounded just as the words escaped Gwynn's lips.

Time was brought an abrupt halt as Axel evoked the true power of the chaos emeralds. Without wasting a moment, the young prodigy formed a blade of crackling chaos energy and placed himself at Gwynn's right flank for a swift beheading. Though as Axel drew his blade backwards, Gwynn's eyes shifted to meet him, completely unaffected by the time distortion.

"Tsk tsk...What is time to a god?" Gwynn cooed smugly before suddenly swinging his elbow back into Axel's ribs, sending the boy tumbling backwards and breaking his hold on time.

Suddenly it all made sense. Remembering the strange visions he had the day Mephiles had been resurrected, Axel recounted the words that had echoed through his mind when he had tried to use chaos control that whilst defending his home with Silver. "D-Dvorabit O-omnia..." He uttered the alien words as he struggled to bring himself to his feet.

"Oh?  You know some of my native tongue, do you?  My my....you are quite the specimen." Gwynn looked over the white hedgehog with an amused look

Shooting Zane and Cynthia his own look to be sure they were still waiting for an opening, Axel began gathering negative chaos energy between the palms of his hand. "The dreams... the voices... they were premonitions." He growled before forming a Chaos True Lance and pointing it towards his target. "The chaos force was warning me. You plan to destroy everything..." Once again, time was brought to a halt. No longer playing along, Gwynn offered the hedgehog a pompous grin as he remained completely unaffected as the rest of the world stood in stasis.

Undeterred, Axel dashed around Gwynn's side, thrusting his javelin into the monster's ribs with all his might!

"Damn..." Axel panted with exhaustion, as he watched his attack slowly began dissipate upon coming into contact with the Sun God. Just then, his Chaos Control shattered, leaving the pair in standing on the castle roof.

Completely uninjured, Gwynn peered down into Axel's glowing gaze with a endless inferno shifting in his eyes. So this was the power of a god... "Now what would be the fun in destroying everything?  There's no point in having worshippers made of ash.  No...I plan to make you all grovel before the sun!" Gwynn spoke so that each and every mortal present could hear his proclamation.

With a flick of his wrist, Gwynn set forth pyre toward Axel that would appear to be almost harmless. Though the young prodigy wouldn't be fooled. His sense were screaming with panic, and as he caught a glimpse of the look of sick and twisted glee that painted itself over Gwynn's face, he realized what the god's intentions were right away. "He wants wipe us all out..." Axel's mind raced.

With only moments to react, the boy dropped down and placed his hands on the floor at Gwynn's feet. "Well see about that..." He growled, whilst taking a final look at his friends. He'd have to leave the rest to them...

In a flash of light, Axel and the pyre vanished from the area, taking the ground from under Gwynn's feet with them. Moments later, there was a massive eruption of swirling flames that shook the entire building and destroyed what was left the east side of the castle. Kneeling deep with the large crater left by the blast, a heavily damaged Axel peered through the smoke to see Gwynn casting him a wicked smile in the distance as he stood on the air as if it were solid, completely unfazed by the boy's attempt throw him off balance and amused by the length he went to save his allies.

"Now..." He groaned weakly to himself whilst shakily raising his hand up to Gwynn and presenting the deity his middle finger as an offering. A spiteful smirk hung on his face as he felt the heat of the Sun God's gaze as it rested on him, now was the time for his allies to strike...

As Alex fought her way through the Mephiles Shades, she had only one thing in mind, finding Cinder. With Iblis roaring above and fighting her allies, she had no time to waste, she had to find the one who caused this mess. Just as she threw a knife or two at a few shades, Ken had regrouped with her. Forgive me!" So... Ken dealt with Cinder, sounded like Alex didn't have to do anything. Still, a part of her felt that it didn't have to end that way, but another part wanted nothing more than to burn that black cat into ash. "We should meet with the others!  They can't finish this alone!" Alex nodded in agreement and followed after Ken, it soon became apparent that the roars from Iblis had ceased, did Axel and the others do it? Did they kill Iblis? As Alex made it up to the tower, she saw that the worse had just started.

Iblis was gone, but in its place stood an unusual hedgehog enveloped in flame, this being had also just blasted Blaze straight through the wall of the tower. "Blaze!!" Without a second thought, she rushed into the tower, thankfully Blaze was relatively unharmed and was dusting herself off. "Are you ok? What happened!?" Alex questioned. "Gywnn" she said, her voice shaking in fear, "The first Sun of Mobius.  We had the threat of Iblis under control...but now...he's here.  A myth...something that shouldn't exist." Seriously, the first sun? "Gwynn? Ahhhh come on! I thought the threat of some giant evil sun god thing was enough, but this!?" The threat of Mephiles and Iblis reuniting was bad enough but now this? Alex didn't know what to do. "How do we stop him?"

Blaze looked concerned, her eyes looking towards the hole she had come from.  "I don't know..." her lip quivered. So... Its all over? Alex looked down in defeat, how could they possibly stop something as great as this. If Gwynn thinks of absorbing mephiles then that's it, game over. There had to be a way to stop Gwynn, anything... Then a thought popped into Alex's head. "You think there's a way we could somehow... Steal his power? Like... Knock Iblis out of him?" It sounded like a stupid idea, but it was the only thing she could think of. Blaze looked to Alex.  Her proposition sounded in her head, bouncing off the walls of her brain.  "I suppose it's worth a shot..." She said.  Taking a deep breath, a large shine emanated around Blaze, and 7 rectangular stones shot forth from her body.  They all had a different hue, and looked fairly similar to the Chaos Emeralds.  They encircled her body, as she started to catch fire all around her body.  "Sol Emeralds!  Give me strength once more!"  In a flash, her fur became a lighter shade of pink, and flames seemed to dance around her fur.  "This will be Dewdrop's final stand!"

Alex nodded in agreement, they were not going to give up so easily, especially to some crazy god. Alex grabbed a knife and lit it aflame. "Ok... This is for those you had slaughtered so you could revive yourself, we're not losing to you Gwynn!" Alex stated charging outside. She was able to catch a glimpse of Axel as the castle shook as if it were in a massive earthquake. Axel was injured but was at least standing and even flipping Gwynn off, this grabbed Gwynn's attention and gave Alex an opportunity. She turned herself invisible and silently rushed at Gwynn in an attempt to drive the knife into his chest.

"Like this, right? Arident Gale!"

Zane, needless to say, was sort of impressed that Axel was able to mimic his Final Freeze in such a way. The arctic wolf definitely needed to remember this and figure out a cool nickname for this combination. Nevertheless, their power synched together and struck against Iblis...and by the power and might of those gathered before the monster...they prevailed!

About to celebrate with the others, Zane had a huge smile on his face...but it left soon after.

"Oh me...yes..."

"This can't be...You can't be!  I thought you were only a legend...only a blip in a book!"

Whoever this eerie flame was that Mephiles held was freaking Milo out. And what was more, the flame touched Iblis' still head and suddenly the flames and Iblis faded...only to reveal another hedgehog with flames dancing around the tips of his fur.

Who...who in Mobius?? Zane thought, before hearing Milo give out the answer.

"Gwynn...the first Sun of Mobius..."

Gwynn? The name didn't exactly resonate with Zane's mind, he hadn't heard of it before. Though if Milo had heard of it, or rather, read about it, it was obvious that he was someone powerful and someone not to trifle with.

"GWYNN-! Why are you here on Mobius?"

"How brave of a Mobian like you to question a god like me? Isn't it obvious Mobian...I have come to rekindle your bond to me!  I have come to make sure you are in check! I have come to make sure that the name Gwynn rings out all through the land, just as it did many millennia ago! And I have come to make you all worship before my feet...lest you pay the ultimate price."

"A...a god?" he muttered to himself, before watching Blaze being sent flying into a hole in the castle walls. It was obvious he wasn't playing. What was more was that Ken was flying head first into danger, as usual, but Gwynn sent him flying back into the castle wall as well.

"Well...anyone else feel like being sacrilegious?"

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

"Hang back, and I'll try to create an opening using Chaos Control...The shifts will seem instantaneous. Your window will be brief. But you need to hit him with everything you have when the time comes... Remember, trust your instincts."

The last sentence Axel said was directed towards him, to which Zane only nodded firmly. It was obvious that they were going to attempt to fight this thing. The wolf, for lack of a better word, was afraid. And it was for good reason...especially with the display of power Gwynn displayed against Axel.

Nevertheless, Zane had to keep himself prepared...Axel was going to give them an opening, he had to be ready to strike. And the opportunity presented itself...

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

Axel flipped Gwynn the middle finger as a salute, to which the deity had its gaze on the ivory hedgehog. This was the opportunity, Zane had to strike now!

-BGM-

Taking a slight breath, Zane began to sprint forward towards Gwynn, as well as making an icy floor in front of him, causing him to speed up like a bullet. With the huge Iblis creature out of the way, he could tell that the air started getting a bit more moisture in it. Not too much...but just enough.

The arctic wolf was now fixated on Gwynn's back. He neared him and then sent a flying kick straight towards the hedgehog's back. "Left your back open!" he smirked, feeling his kick make contact with Gwynn's back...unfortunately he moved back some and noticed the kick only budged Gwynn. "Jeez...only a budge?"

"Hm?" Gwynn seemed to question what occurred. "It seems there are beings here worth my full attention." Zane could see Gwynn slowly turning in a cautious manner towards him. "You remind me of someone I used to know...though he is no longer with me." he said whilst smiling.

"Well, guess me and this someone have the same charm or something...though not gonna lie, I'm not sure anyone could stand to be around you much." Zane smirked, whilst keeping his guard up.

Suddenly, Zane noticed the ball of fire being manifested into Gwynn's hands. "All the more reason why you remind me of him!" He said, before launching a giant stream of fire towards Zane.

"H-Holy Chaos!!" Zane shouted, before slamming his palms down on the ground as an pillar of ice emerged from the ground and shot upwards. He knew it wouldn't last long under this stream of fire...but that's not what he was counting on. He suddenly stopped the pillar, feeling himself being launched upwards into the air as he smirked. "There we go...KEN EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!" he shouted as he began his descent towards Gwynn, readying a right hook...

However, when Zane got to Gwynn, his punch was caught. His fist was now in a vice-like grip because of Gwynn. This was scaring him...was he really a god then?? Zane's thoughts, however, were quickly brought back by the hedgehog.

"I hate the cold....reminds me of space."

"W-What?" the arctic wolf only asked, before erupting into a loud pain filled howl as he felt a sharp immense pain. He watched as his fist almost instantly began to catch on fire in Gwynn's grip. "G-GAAAAAHHHH!! W-WHAT THE HELL?!"

"Melt, mortal."

Zane's mind was running a thousand miles a minute now, trying to figure out what to do. Then something sprang out to him. Y-Yeah...Yeah that might work! Just use it without my powers! he thought, before kicking his feet onto Gwynn's chest and quickly pulling out his multi-tool. However when he had it spring to life, to everyone's shock, he only used it in its water form. A water blade was quickly made as he focused on Gwynn's hand, striking at it quickly as he used the hedgehog's chest as a springboard to move back.

The water blade made contact with Gwynn's hand, causing him to grumble and steam to immediately appear from this. Zane could feel Gwynn's grip on him loosen and he was able to back away. His right fist was pretty burned up...

"Well...the mortal to inflict an inkling of pain on me...you should be honored." Gwynn spoke, staring at Zane as he flicked away the steam, rolling his wrist a bit.

"H-Heh...well there's always a first for everything..." Zane smirked, keeping his stance, a little weary on what would happen next.

Chimera said nothing as he sat in his seat, the Egg Carrier's engines roaring to life as it began to lift into the air. During this time, a lot had transpired, but from what his brain could process, the giant monster he had planned to shoot down was defeated, and absorbed into a new being, another hedgehog. The others were trying to fight him off, but... Chimera decided that was enough. He killed one organic... but his silent rage wasn't sated. He needed to kill this new hedgehog, and there was no kill like overkill.

Hearing the machines clicking as the missiles were unlocked, Chimera released a wave of missiles, all aimed at Gywnn. To top it off, he began to fire the laser cannons the Egg Carrier had in an attempt to turn Gywnn into obliterated Swiss Cheese.

He didn't care about collateral now. He would be the destructive force of death he was built to be.

As Ken finally made it back to where he had been knocked away from, the sun god took a look at the white hedgehog and smirked.  Sensing another presence, Gwynn let out an explosion of flames from every inch of his body, washing a small vicinity around him in flames.  It melted the dagger that Alex held in her hands, and caused her to unstealth.  He eyed her with an intense stare, and grinned.

"If chaos control failed to sneak up on me, what chance did you think you had?  Fool."  Gwynn appeared in a flash in front of Alex, and flicked her on the forehead, causing her to careen into the castle floor.  He then turned back to the Hedgehog from prior.  "So you weren't incinerated when coming into contact with me, huh?  Well kudo's to you as well.  My goodness I'm being surprised by mortals left and right today...maybe I shouldn't destroy everyone here after all."  Gwynn opened his arms out towards the group of warriors who opposed him.  "Well, I've had a change of heart...whoever among you wishes to live, approach me now and become part of the new world orde-"  The god's sentence was interrupted by a multitude of whirring noises coming from the sky.

Ken looked up to notice a large array of missiles was headed towards their location.  And their source of origin...the Light Piercer.

"Chimera...are you trying to get us all killed up here?!"  Ken spewed angrily.  The missiles had no exact target, rather they were aimed at Gwynn's general vicinity.  If the missiles weren't going to kill him, Gwynn sure as hell was.

"Everyone, over here!"  A scream from across the roof rang out.  Milo motioned for everyone to come to him.  As soon as they all did, he put his hands in front of him.  "Chaos Colossus!"  A large, aura like projection of Milo started to grow forth from his body, and grew until it encompassed all of the others.  The aura then knelt down, and placed it's large arms over it's body to shield itself from the oncoming attack.

Gwynn frowned.

"You dare to interrupt my speech with your...your metal toys?!"  One missile made direct impact with Gwynn's body, and the ground beneath him shattered like an egg shell.

A large explosion engulfed the roof, but the barricade pushed through the oncoming inferno.  Milo grit his teeth, as more missiles detonated across the top of the castle, some even impacting Milo's aura guardian.  When everything settled down, and the dust settled, Milo collapsed, and the large aura faded away.  His breathing was heavy, but he wore a large smile.  The flames that were scattered among the rooftop danced, as if in celebration on the team's victory of living that onslaught.  However, they were quickly pulled away from their party and were dragged along the floor to a certain focal point.  In the middle of the dust cloud, Gwynn could be seen holding a generously large ball of fire.  He glared at the ship that had so rudely interrupted his proposition.

"Now...as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted," he said, turning his head slowly towards the group behind Milo, "If any of you would like to join the winning side...I suggest you step forward now."

Milo looked on in disbelief.

"This power...it's like nothing I could have imagined."  He got up, albeit a bit shakily, and started walking forwards.  Turk reached out for his friend, but grasped the air behind him.  "He's unstoppable...He's the first sun of Mobius...I don't want to die here."  His voice quaked, as did his knees.  Something tugged the hedgehog back, and as he looked back, it was that White Hedgehog with red streaks in his hair.  His quills blew in the breeze as he looked on at Gwynn, unflinching.

"He's going down."  Ken stated confidently.  It made Gwynn perk up an eyebrow.

"You do see this giant ball of flames in my palm, correct?  I don't think you're in the position to tell me I'm going down, ningen."

Ken stepped forward, raising his fist towards Gwynn.

"I didn't get to pay that monster back for what it did to my family...but since you up and absorbed him, you're going to taste what I was going to give him ten times over."  Gwynn bared his teeth and frowned.  What insolence!

"Then be washed away by the one who created what you hate most!  Cleansing Pyre Sphere!"  Gwynn roared as he soared into the sky, and unleashed the ball of inferno from his hands.  It roared and crackled, as it hurtled towards the castle.  Ken looked on, unwavering, as the ground beneath him splintered.  He would go out with a bang, defending his friends.

He turned towards Axel, Cynthia, Alex, and Zane, and smiled.

"You guys can take this freak down without me, right?"  He asked, before launching off the roof, winding up a punch that would hopefully shatter this attack in two.  No doubt, though, that he himself would be caught up in the explosion that had been thwarted from hitting the others.  He would most likely die.  "Geez, here I go sacrificing myself again."  He sighed.  "You guys owe me a soda in hedgehog heaven."  Just then, he could see all his memories race through his mind.  Him, getting a spear lodged in his chest, saving Zane in the process.  Meeting Cynthia.  The last time he saw Silver.  They gave him the strength he needed to push himself further.

IsOSufc.png

"There will be no need for that, Dear Ken."  A voice echoed.  Something zoomed passed him and knocked him back down to the others on the floor below, forcibly, but not gently.  Ken landed with a thud, as whatever had spoken had already collided with the sphere of fire, imploding it from the inside.  A rain of cinders rained upon the rooftop, as Gwynn, who was settled higher in the sky, provided an arrogant smile.

"Ahhhh...so there are still some of you who can use the power of the Sol Emeralds I see.  Those emeralds were my attempt to replicate that of the chaos emeralds, albeit to a much more flawed extent.  However, I'm glad to see them getting some use."

The Queen of Dewdrop, cloaked in violent, flickering flames, groaned.

"Ironic how they will be your demise!"  She roared, as the flames around her grew more intense.

"What is that?"  Ken looked up in awe at the shimmering light in the sky.  From behind, Milo started to pick up Ken.

"That is Blaze's final Trump Card...the power of the Sol Emeralds."

"I haven't seen this since we last sparred against her Highness...it is still the most beautiful sight I have ever witnessed." Turk chimed in.  From across the rooftop, another voice boomed to the others.

"This is the power, of everyone's hopes in Dewdrop!"  Blaze screamed, as she took a jab at Gwynn.  The hedgehog caught the punch, but was surprised when his hand shook beneath the pressure of Blaze's fist.  Blaze then jammed her knee into Gwynn's stomach.  "This is the power," she screamed, while clasping her fists together, and raising them above her head, "Of Queen Burning Blaze!"  She brought down her hands at the base of Gwynn's head, sending him flying through the air.  He caught himself in his descent, and stretched his neck.

"Finally...someone worthy of my full attention!"  He said, a fire lit in his eyes.

On the ground level, the other's looked on at the display in the sky.  Shockwaves reigned supreme, as the force of their punches could be felt from even down here.

"Forgetting someone?"  Mephiles cackled.  "I may not have been able to become Solaris again...but I won't let any one of you leave her alive.  Being near my father so long, who had radiated me with the flames of Iblis...I was able to absorb some of that power."  Mephiles began to shine somewhat.  A flash of light left everyone blind for a time being, and when they could finally see again, a new Mephiles could be seen standing across the way.  "Let's see how you fare against my new power!  This is Golden Mephiles!"

"Let's see how you fare against my new power! This is Golden Mephiles!"

Golden....Mephiles? Zane really wanted to bust out laughing at this stupid name. However, part of him knew that making fun of this psychotic murderer wasn't a good idea. What was more, he didn't want to just strike at the creature. Glancing down at his right hand, which was still pretty burnt from Gwynn, he knew that attacking head on right now wasn't a good idea. He needed to see Mephiles' new abilities...

Well...better do what I do best... Zane thought, before beginning to encircle Mephiles, skating on the icy floor beneath him, only picking up his speed as he made his rounds. As he did this, the arctic wolf began to send icicles directly at Mephiles, in an attempt to see what this newer Mephiles could do.

As Zane did this, Mephiles' gaze was solely on him and the icicles he threw. Soon a golden crystalline pillar was erected to block these icicles. No sooner did they come, they left back into the ground, showing that Mephiles was unharmed by this strike. However, in front of Zane's encircle path...another golden crystalline pillar emerged from the rumbling ground.

"W-WHOA!!" Zane yelped, beginning to skid to a halt, only to jump and kick himself off from the pillar. He turned and smirked, sending a fierce spin kick directly to Mephiles' head. "Take this!" he said, before landing back on the ground. Though what happened next made his stomach churn.

The arctic wolf watched and listened to the sickening cracks that were made from his neck, as the creature's head began to spin in an unnatural way. However, the cracking wasn't the only thing to fill the air and Zane's ears. It was the maniacal laughter of the psychotic being as his head began to slow down and look directly at him.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" Mephiles said, shaking and cracking his neck back into place. "You aren't the same wolf I had fun with in the city....are you?" Zane could see Mephiles tilt his head slightly, asking the last part of that before more pillars of crystal began to erupt from the ground.

"Did you...honestly think I would be?" Zane asked, dodging a few of the pillars erupting. "And now...your going to find out how different I've become!" He quickly growled, before slamming his hands down on the ground, having an ice pillar erupt from under Mephiles' feet. "Not enough!" he muttered, before sending another set of icicles towards Mephiles.

Mephiles felt the ice pillar piercing through his body as it erupted from the ground. What was more, he was forced to take the icicles that Zane threw at him, causing him to be in even more pain from this massive damage. A loud yell was heard, one that sounded quite pissed off. "I WILL NOT BE CHASTISED BY MERE MORTALS ANYMORE!!" Suddenly a bright glow shone around Mephiles, shooting outwards, as Zane watched his icy creations melt almost instantly. Mephiles glared at Zane, noticing his golden color of his skin vanishing for a quick moment. Looking on in frustration, he watched as his skin was soon painted once more by the gold color. Once more he glared at Zane. "You're one more icicle away from melting, child!!"

The gold...it was leaving...it must be him getting weaker! Zane thought, clenching his fist. I gotta finish this now!! He finally rushed towards Mephiles and began to lay an assault on the creature. A barrage of punches and kicks struck at Mephiles, thought through it all, Zane fought through the pain of him using his burned hand. However...all the while he noticed Mephiles beginning to crack. He was doing it... All he needed was the final blow! Zane quickly pulled out his multi-tool before activating it and swinging an ice blade in his hand. "BE...GONE!!!"

The sounds of Zane's final blow striking Mephiles...he watched as Mephiles shattered and the arctic wolf fell through, as if he struck out at a mirror. With his eyes wide, he found out things were wrong, however he found out too late. And now, the sounds of a dark cackle filled him with dread.

"FOOLISH FOOL!" Zane turned around, before noticing Mephiles with a dark orb of chaos energy in his hand. "Gwynn may be not in a rush to kill you, but I have no such quarrels! DIE!!!" he shouted, before throwing the dark orb in Zane's direction.

Zane had no time to react, only quickly calling an icy barrier to form between him and the orb, only to watch it shatter instantly and sent him flying back. He felt himself making contact with the ground, feeling himself rolling around before he found himself with his back on the ground. The moment the arctic wolf started trying to get up, he felt himself become both exhausted and his body starting to ache.

N-Nghh...w-what the hell...? Zane thought, groaning a bit. T-Tch...guess...guess my body isn't...used to this power yet...I-I might've over done it...d-damn...

"That will be more than enough, Zane." As the Dire Wolf struggled to pick himself up after his clash with Golden Mephiles, a voice called over the battlefield, heralding a new arrival. "Rest. You've earn it..."

BMG

A smile could be seen from Ken as he glanced back to the sight of his brother, it turned into a wide grin as the young prodigy's battered form slowly trudged through the city turned war zone and joined the other freedom fighters. "Geez I thought you'd never step up." Ken snickered as his brother passed, cracking his knuckles and joining Axel in his stride towards Mephiles. "Can't be shown up by Zane now can we?"

Axel glanced over to his brother for a brief moment as they walked shoulder to shoulder, finding his twin's smile annoyingly infectious, he quickly returned his gaze to Mephiles. "Naturally." He scoffed whilst rolling his shoulder to gauge the extent of his injuries. In his current state, he'ed have to count on Ken to be the main offensive...

Even though the odds were stacked against them, Axel found himself oddly content in this moment. He and Ken were together again, and that was all that mattered.

"No more sacrifices. We'll do this together." Axel addressed his twin as they both stopped a few yards away from Mephiles.

"Let's show this thing what Silver taught us..." Ken agreed, his excitement showing despite the stakes.

With that, Ken raised his hand up towards Axel and formed a fist as he smirked at the Golden Demon that stood before them. Axel followed suit, bringing up his hand and bumping fists with his brother. In that instant, Ken vanished in Axel's trademark flash of light, only to reappear at Mephiles's flank with his arm raised to deliver a chopping blow.

A small shockwave shook the area as Mephiles's form was shaken by Ken's titanic strength, and the ground cracked beneath pressure of the impact. Reacting quickly to the brothers's trick, Mephiles swung his fist backwards in an attempt to backhand Ken. Though the hedgehog was able to dodge the initial strike with ease, a crystal pillar promptly ruptured from the ground into his side, sending Ken flying back.

Clutching his side, Ken skillfully landed with a smirk.

"You're full of openings..." A familiar voice sounded from bellow, causing Mephiles's eyes to widen in shock as he glanced down to see Axel had warped near his feet. "SH-" The monster's words were cut short as Axel thrusted the heel of his foot into the bottom of it's chin, forcing the creature up off of the ground. Continuing his assault, Axel let loose a burst of chaos energy from his palms to launch himself upwards with Mephiles, delivering a series of upward bicycle kicks to the golden monster to send him reeling through the air before tumbling back to the earth himself.

He was quickly caught by Ken, who righted his brothers position before bending his own legs in a ready stance. "I'm fine..." Axel assured his brother as he ripped himself free from Ken's grasp. "You ready for this?!"

Ken nodded before suddenly springing upwards, the air around him growing heavy as a result of his unlocking of the second inhibitor. "Try not to blow me up, okay?" His voice trailed down to his brother, who had already begun gathering negative chaos energy in between his palms.

Flying past Mephiles in the sky above, Ken twisted in his ascent so that he was peering down at the golden monster. A loud distortion soon resonated in the air around Ken's fist as he cocked back and fell towards Mephiles, who seemed to attempting to prepare a counter. Though the creature's preparations would never come to fruition.

"Fist of Heav-Ken!" Ken boomed down as he slammed his fist into Mephiles's crossed arms, causing a whirling mass of razor sharp wind to form around the pair. Struggling to defend against Ken's technique, Mephiles eyes widen in horror as he sensed the large amount of energy being gathered bellow them. "A trap..." The creature growled as it glanced back in time to see a spear of crackling cyan energy flying towards him.

"Chaos True Spear!" Axel called as he watched every ounce of his remaining energy crash into Mephile's flank, causing a massive blue explosion the struggled against the  titanic air pressure of Ken's strike. The two techniques hungrily pushed against each other with Mephiles caught in the middle, neither gaining any headway for quite some time before suddenly merging to create a nexus of raw power that reverberated with red and blue energy.

"SILVER SCHOOL: DRAGON VS TIGER!"  cEeWVpd.jpg

wWmO84y.jpg  "SILVER SCHOOL: DRAGON VS TIGER!"

Axel and Ken's voice sounded in unison as the nexus gave way to a blinding light that washed over the city. When the light finally receded, Mephiles could be seen falling down to earth. The golden hue that clung to his skin was now left in shambles, chipping away in the wind to reveal his true color. Though he hadn't been destroyed, his golden form was falling a part...

Everything seemed like a blur, Alex could barely hear the commotion that was going on around her. She wasn't expecting her little sneak attack to do much, she was expecting to get punished by it but the way she was ticked her off. A simple flick of Gwynn's finger, that's all it took to send her flying right into a wall, that would be incredible if not for the fact it was her getting flicked. Alex slowly got up, but could only stand on one knee, something was broken in her body but she couldn't give up now. She looked up to the sky to see Blaze was already in combat with Gwynn, but there was still the problem with Mephiles, who had taken on a new form. Zane was the first to try his luck but he ended up flat on his back, this "Golden Mephiles" might be just as strong as Gwynn, emphasis on might be. Golden or not, this was still Mephiles and Alex wasn't about to let herself be beaten, she stood back fully in time to watch Ken and Axel try their luck against him.

In an amazing show of power and skill, Ken and Axel were successful in fighting Mephiles, they even ruined his Golden form as he was slowly falling from the explosion of light from the brothers' attack. "WOO! Good job Ken and Axel!" Cynthia called to them. The fight wasn't over, Mephiles may have been thrown through the two hedgehogs attacks but he was still intact. Cynthia took notice and got onto her board, she shot a look to Alex. "Hey, we can't let them hog all the glory. Let's finish that creep off!" Alex gave Cynthia a quick nod and adjusted herself, time for some payback.

Cynthia formed her hand into a metal blade, though she had other materials at her disposal, metal was the only thing that made sense right now. She took off at high speeds toward the slowly descending hedgehog and picked up even more speed. "This is either gonna cut you down to size or really put a dent in you, either way, your gonna feel this in the afterlife!" She brought her arm out and sped past Mephiles in an attempt to slice straight through him. Meanwhile, Alex was still ground level and was gathering a massive fire around her. "This is for all those you murdered, try surviving this Mephiles!" She pulled all the fire into a single point and aimed it at the Mephiles. "Dragon Fire!!!" She let loose a large stream of fire that could incinerate a whole building in seconds.

As the two other female mobians leapt to attack his failing body, Mephiles' grinned.  A pulse of radiant energy sprung from his body, sending Cynthia flying back, and clashing against the giant stream of fire.  He struggled to keep up the wave of energy, as it struggled against' Alex's attack.  Soon, it was overtaken by the flames and receded back towards Mephiles.  He yelled as he was washed in a wave of intense fire.  As  the stream died down, Mephiles still stood, pieces of gold still chipping away from his body.

"You...you haven't won yet..."  He gasped, the light fading from his skin.  "That form...it's too unstable...It drained my power..."

"Probably weaker too since you made that shade army too huh, Mephy...Not to mention that little combo of ours probably rattled your brain around a bit."  Ken said with a smirk, whilst cracking his knuckles.

"SILENCE!  You are weakened from dealing with my Golden State!  I still have more than enough power to finish you al-"

"Er-hem..." a voice interrupted that malicious hedgehog's threat.  "Forgetting about us?"  As Mephiles turned around, he would come face to face with Anais, who promptly kicked a leg vertically into the air, catching Mephiles' chin, and sending him careening upwards. She drew her sword, and coated it in white chaos energy, jutting it into three separate locations in Mephiles' body, his shoulders and abdomen, while he was still airborne.  Each strike made a beam of light project on the other side, piercing him through.  No expression of pain came from Mephiles, rather a look of intense anger.  The beams kept him suspended in the air, and he was unable to budge.

"Release me you lowly piece of-"

"Mind your foul tongue, spawn of darkness."  Turk trumpeted, as he grabbed the beam of light that jutted from Mephiles' abdomen with his trunk.  He then proceeded to grab the other two with his hands that jutted out from the shoulders.  With a mighty trumpet, Turk somersaulted the still Mephiles, and threw him towards the ground.  "You are up now Milo!"

"Right!" the hedgehog called from above, making various hand signs in front of his body.  "Chaos Meteor!"  From above the city, pure balls of chaos energy rained down upon Mephiles' as he descended at a break-neck pace towards the front of the castle.  As he impacted, the orbs of chaos did as well, causing a massive explosion in the courtyard.

"Royal Guard Triad!  Earth Shatter!"  All three rang out at once, all with a smile on their face, besides Anais who wore a slight smirk.  Milo laughed as he still flew in the air.

"Man!  I never thought we'd get to use that!"

Ken looked on in awe, as the explosion in the courtyard died down.  That put he and Axel's combo to shame...almost.  In the courtyard, in the newly formed crater, a husk of Mephiles crystalline body could be seen, lying unconscious.  The ground beneath it was soaked in an inky blackness, but seeped back into the soil.  After it all had washed away, the husk shattered, leaving no trace of Mephiles.

"Will we ever be rid of that monster..." Anais said under her breath.  She moved closer to Zane who was slightly injured before kneeling down.  "You certainly did prove yourself today Zane...congratulations on becoming a Dire Wolf."  She looked up to the sky, to see how her mother was faring now.

"HAHAHAHA!"  One left landed on his cheek, but all he could do was laugh.  This was the most fun he had since he'd incinerated those two guards in the beginning.

"Shut up!"  Blaze yelled, as she landed another blow across his face.  She then gathered a ball of white fire in her palm, as she shoved it into Gwynn's stomach.  The fireball expanded until it encompassed Gwynn's entire body.  Once it grew to a decent size, Blaze detonated the attack.  However, Gwynn still hovered unfazed by any attack he had received so far.  He wiped his mouth of some spit that had been let loose after one of those punches had landed and smiled.

"So...the Sol Emeralds aren't enough to save you...what a shame."  Gwynn whizzed past Blaze, but then disappeared, only to reappear with his knee lodged into Blaze's stomach.  She coughed up flames, supposedly her burning blood, as Gwynn extended his leg out further, kicking Blaze across the sky.  As she stopped herself, she wheezed, fire streaming down her mouth.

"There's still one thing...I can do..."  She gathered a large sphere of fire, and threw it at Gwynn, who caught it easily with one hand.

"Was this your final attempt?  A nova sphere?  You must be joking..."  He yawned.  "I was expecting more."

"Were you expecting this?  Anais!  Milo!  Now!"  The two she called appeared in the air behind Gwynn.  Both of them, placing their hands in a triangular position.

"Royal Guard Duo! God Seal!"  Just then, the sphere of flame that Gwynn now held, morphed itself into a triangular prism like shape around Gwynn.

"What is this?!"  He groaned, as he tried to reach out towards Blaze.  The flames that surrounded him grew brighter, as he was forced back with a shock.  He winced, as he realized what he had just felt.  Pain.

"Surprised, First Sun?"  Blaze said with a slight laugh in her voice.  "This is what we would have used to seal Iblis, in case he ever got loose.  It was a gamble, but I thought it would work on you as well."  The fiery hedgehog tried to punch through his barrier, but static clung to his fist as he tried to breach the seal.

"This won't keep me here long...I am not like my creation...I am a god!"

"Well...let's see if Gods can fall."  Blaze gathered up another large ball of fire.  However this time, it grew much bigger than the last one, an almost cast a shadow over the entire city of Dewdrop.  She seemed to struggle to keep it steady.  "More...we need more!"  She took in a deep breath.  "Citizens of Dewdrop!"  Her voice echoed throughout the town.  "Please, lend me your hopes for the future...lend me your dreams you wish to come true, so that I may smite down this crazed demon that has wrought terror upon our glorious city!  Send it all to me now!"

Ken looked up to the sky, listening to the booming voice that begged for help.  Ken nodded, as he reached towards his brother to place a hand on his back.  He smiled at him.

"I can't give her my power willingly...maybe I can pass some onto her, through me?"  He asked, giving Axel a thumbs up while simultaneously unlocking his third inhibitor.  "This has to be the final blow..." he said, his voice slightly quivering.

Zane watched as Ken and Axel literally did an amazing combination of attacks, to which he felt a little jealous of. Such amazing coordination, quick footwork, and hell...even a badass name to boot. T-Tch...always gotta show off...damn, so this is what Silver taught them? H-H-Heh...getting a hero of old to teach them seems l-like a cop-out... he smirked, thinking with a shake of his head.

Then Alex and Cynthia stepped into the fray, but even though Cynthia was knocked back...Alex was still pressing forward and attacking with everything she had. And if things didn't look as bleak for Mephiles, Milo, Anais, and Turk stepped into the fray as well...only to outdo Ken and Axel's combination with one of their own. Seemed like everyone was doing their own part to up the others... However, Zane looked over and saw Anais kneeling down beside him.

"You certainly did prove yourself today Zane...congratulations on becoming a Dire Wolf."

Was this....was this a compliment? Zane jumped on the chance for this, only groaning slightly. "E-Eh...w-what can I say...t-this dog i-is still young enough to where he can learn...n-new tricks..." he spoke, flashing out a small smirk, before turning his attention upwards as well.

"Royal Guard Duo! God Seal!"

Out of the all out assault Blaze had been giving Gwynn, it seemed that there was still a final play in their book...and her, Milo, and Anais were performing it here and now. That's when Blaze called out.

"Citizens of Dewdrop! Please, lend me your hopes for the future...lend me your dreams you wish to come true, so that I may smite down this crazed demon that has wrought terror upon our glorious city! Send it all to me now!"

Zane only smirked, seeing Ken and Axel doing just that, or rather Ken using his brother as a conduit to channel his energy through. Finally, the arctic wolf struggled to get up, only managing to stagger his way onto his feet, before throwing his hand up into the air.

"H-Heh..." he started, shaking his head as he struggled to stand up. "I-I know you deal...w-with fire, Queen Blaze...b-but here's hoping some my power and energy can be put to g-good use!" he spoke, before looking up at the sky and shouting. "MILO!! ANAIS!! DON'T YOU TWO LOSE AFTER DISPLAYING ALL THAT POWER!!"

Cynthia winced in pain as Mephiles shot her straight back down right into Alex's attack. Luckily, she was able to morph her body into metal, though it didn't help much with the heat. Cynthia came crashing down to the ground in the form of a blazing fireball and was dazed upon impact, she couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on.

On Alex's end, she was struggling to keep her flames on target as Mephiles in his weakened was putting up a fight. The flames eventually overtook the dark attack and Alex showed a triumphant smile as Mephiles was burned alive. After the flames died down, Mephiles still stood, however in a weakened state. Alex could barely stand after putting so much force into her attack, but she was able to catch a glimpse of Blaze's best fighters, Turk, Milo, and Anais, as they finished off the dark being, with style at that.

With Mephiles now taken care of there remained one last enemy, Gwynn himself. By the looks of things, even with the power of the Sol Emeralds, Blaze was having a difficult time with Gwynn. In the end, Gwynn was stopped by what seemed to be Blaze's trump card, a seal that was meant to imprison Iblis and luckily it was strong enough to even hold Gwynn.

"Citizens of Dewdrop! Please, lend me your hopes for the future...lend me your dreams you wish to come true, so that I may smite down this crazed demon that has wrought terror upon our glorious city! Send it all to me now!" Blaze put what power she had left into an enormous sphere of fire and her call for aid was not met with deaf ears. Axel, Zane, and Ken were already cheering her on, as was the city below.

"Well... One last shot... Time to make it count I guess. You can do it Blaze, knock Gwynn a new one and send him packing!" Cynthia called up. Alex looked straight up and called too. "You have our full support, Blaze. Send that "god" back to hell that he crawled out from!!"

Chimera wasn't sure what happened. He had fired the full force of the Egg Carrier at the supposed God, and it did nothing. Was science too weak to go against the might of the Gods? He shook his head. No! Just because Eggman failed to contain Chaos, Dark Gaia, the Space Colony ARK... that was not reassuring... Maybe science, and by extension, him, were not enough to stand against these beings' might?

That couldn't be it. However, the queen has started to ask for energy... something Chimera couldn't supply. Instead, he landed the Egg Carrier by the group, walking out slowly, waiting for the group to finish.

He had a bad feeling. They needed to get away as fast as possible. There was no way they were beating this hedgehog as they were.

"I can't give her my power willingly...maybe I can pass some onto her, through me?" Axel turned to his brother as Ken unlocked the third inhibitor once again causing a pressure to settle around him. "This has to be the final blow..." he said, his voice slightly quivering.

"Yea..." Axel panted in response. Having complete depleted the last of his own energy reserves, the young prodigy closed his eyes and attempted to tap into the dark power deep within him. They would need anything the could get of they were going to seal Gwynn...

Though it seemed the mark on his shoulder had different plans. The instant the boy tried access the darkness, a searing pain spread out form the sun shaped brand, causing Axel to fall to his knees in agony. "Damn.... it...." Growling through gritted teeth, Axel cursed Anais's trickery before shakily bringing himself to his feet. Even if he couldn't use that power, there was still one last option he could try.

Producing the silver chaos emerald, Axel shakily grabbed his brother's hand, despite struggling to force his way through the pressure that was emanating from the other hedgehog.

"Master..." Axel's thoughts drifted Silver as he set his sights on Blaze and began drawing raw chaos energy from the emerald. "This what you would have wanted, huh?" There was a faint glow from his pocket as the purple chaos emerald began to resonate with the massive amounts of energy that was being gathered in the area, and before long it too began feeding the queen it's power per Axel's command.

"Brother I need you to focus..." Axel addressed his twin as he began siphoning the third inhibiter's powers from the boy's body and merging it into the flow of energy that was being sent up to Blaze. "Picture two oceans... note their differences, then let them flow into each other." Axel closed his eyes to better focus on Ken's aura. Even if he'd be doing most of the heavy lifting, he still needed his brother work with him here. "Watch those differences vanish, then let all of the water surge forth!" With his brother's energy flowing through him, Axel thrusted the Silver's chaos emerald up towards the sky and roared. "GIVE HER EVERYTHING WE HAVE!"

"Brother I need you to focus...Picture two oceans... note their differences, then let them flow into each other.  Watch those differences vanish, then let all of the water surge forth!"

It was the same as his brother had tried to teach him when they were young, when they tested their abilities as manipulators of the Chaos Force.  However, no matter how hard he tried, Ken was never able to manifest the power.  But with his hand in contact with Axel, he felt a sort of tether connecting from his hand, to his brother's body...a tether that surged with power.  Strangely, he could feel it.  Ken was desperate, Blaze needed all the power she could get, and he couldn't afford to cheap out by saying he had no connection to the Chaos Force.  With all of his being, he imagined the water.

The water that he fell into when he fought Charyb.

The water that fell down the top of Ferris Mountain.

It all swirled around him...receding back into the center, and washing back upon the shore...but now it met another surge of water.  It was massive in comparison to the pond he had imagined, but now the two eroded away the soil in between them, and met.  Ken's water surged into that open ocean with a mighty rush!

"IM GIVING HER EVERYTHING I GOT!"  Ken let out with a mighty roar, the pressure that surged around him lessening to a degree.

Above them, the sphere of flames that Blaze now held took up the noticeable sky above her.

"So this is the weight of hope...huh?"  She whispered to herself, her hands raised above her head, as small cinders fell from the ball of fire.  "It's warm..."  She purred, before lowering her hands.  It took a moment for the orb to pick up any speed, as it's enormous size made it hard to move throughout the atmosphere.  It didn't get hot as it approached the city, rather it showered the people with a warm glow that seemed to restore their vitality.  The citizens of dewdrop looked in awe, as the massive ball of fire prepared to meet it's target.  With a smile, Blaze called out the name of her attack.

"SOL METEOR!"

As it slowly approached, Gwynn couldn't help but groan.  Mephiles had since left the scene, and was unable to whisk them both away, rather he saved his own pathetic skin before his own father's!  Gwynn was still paralyzed from the seal, and unable to escape the oncoming attack.  He tried his best to reach out his hands to meet with the sphere, but they were met with a burning sensation.

"What??  This isn't fire?!"  He roared in pain, as the orb started to sizzle away at his hands.  He roared in anguish, as the orb pushed his arms back.  If he was at full strength, he could have easily thrown this thing away and into the atmosphere...but as he was, this attack was impossible to hold off against.  His arms buckled beneath him, as he was smashed against the solid side of the sphere that moved across the sky.  When it had completely encompassed his body, Blaze flicked her hand upwards, prompting the orb to launch straight up into the sky.  She clamped her fist once the orb reached a suitable distance, and called out once again.

"Sol Crusher!"

A large inferno roared across the sky, pushing the clouds in the vicinity away.  The red sky that had painted the regular blue had all but disappeared, and a clear view was shown once again.  An ear splitting cheer could be heard across the city, as Blaze had saved them all once again.  With the power of the Sol Emeralds finally drained, they removed themselves from Blaze.  As her normal color washed over her, and the fire that danced at the end of her fur was extinguished, she fell back to Mobius, and landed among the royal guard and the Defenders of Mobius.  Looking over them, she smiled, with tears in her eyes.

Anais ran up to her mother, and hugged her tightly.

"You did it...I can't believe it but you did it!"  Blaze returned the hug, and whispered in Anais' ear.

"No daughter...we did it.  We all saved Dewdrop."

She looked to Ken, Axel, and the others, and nodded her head.

"If you would've told me that a bunch of hooligans would've showed up on my doorstep, and took care of Mephiles, Iblis, and Gwynn, in the same day, I would've had you arrested on the spot."  She removed herself from Anais' embrace, and bowed before the group.  "You have the deepest of gratitude from Dewdrop...from all of Mobius.  We all thank you this day."  As she stood back up, she looked to the sky.  Embers fell down around them.  She looked around in confusion...the ball wasn't entirely made of fire...it was a chaotic construct...then why were there embers.

Above them, a clap rang out.  It was hardly visible, but it was an unmistakable figure.

Gwynn, half of his body just a roaring flame, the other half hedgehog.

"You seem to have celebrated a little too early, Queen of Dewdrop.  Your god still breathes!"  He laughed triumphantly, as he crashed into the center of the entire group.  "Well...I guess it's ten on one?  That hardly seems fair...for you!"  Gwynn rushed Blaze with an outstretched hand, coated in flames.  Anais made a swift move, and kicked Gwynn's arm from beneath, prompting him to lose balance.

"THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE!"  Anais screamed at everyone, before stabbing Gwynn a multitude of times with light from her sword.  "FOR DEWDROP!"

Zane was thrilled to bits at this point to see that their efforts were not in vain...that they were able to defeat this god. "W-Whoo...g-great work everyone!" he said weakly, trying his best to keep himself standing. "G-Guess this means we can all j-just go and rest up for a while...m-maybe a week or so?"

He stopped after that sentence, only noticing there were embers falling down around them. But why were there...?

"You seem to have celebrated a little too early, Queen of Dewdrop. Your god still breathes!"

F-Fuckin' hell... Zane cursed to himself, before watching this fiery deity make a move at Blaze. All of them weren't in a position to quickly take care of him...well, all except for Anais. Surprisingly she still had the strength to fight on, kicking Gwynn's hand out of the way and then assaulting him with countless strikes with her blade.

"THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE! FOR DEWDROP!"

Zane closed his eyes for a moment, sighing deeply before looking back at Anais striking at Gwynn. He exhaled slowly before moving his hands some. He had just a little bit more power left...he had to make this one count. Needless to say, this was a do or die moment...a true FINAL Final Freeze. H-Heh...this has got to do it...your a Dire Wolf now, Zane...TIME TO SHOW THEM THIS!!

He began to growl deeply, generating the last little bit of the power he could in his hands. "S-Should've stayed in that little seal there, Gwynn...cause now...your gonna taste the cold, icy sting of a Dire Wolf!!" he shouted, slamming his hands together. "ANAIS! MOVE!" Zane watched as the hedgehog moved out of the way, before he howled. "TAKE THIS AND GO BACK TO HELL YOU MONSTER!!! FINAL....FREEZE!!!!"

From his hands, he unleashed the icy energy beam towards Gwynn, hoping he'd hit...though at the same time, he was slowly slipping out of consciousness as well...He was running on empty, and he knew this...but he needed to keep going.
