Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulings Questions

For the Jack Knight S/T support, wherein the cards talk about how when an "effect activated in the same column as a "Jack Knight" monster you control resolves, negate that effect.", does the "Jack Knight" need to be on the field for the activation and resolution, or just the latter?

Well, that effect only applies when the effect resolves, so if you don't have a monster anymore, nothing happens.

Just the latter. If your opponent activates the effect of Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, for example, if you chain True Depths of the World Legacy and use its effect to Special Summon a "Jack Knight" monster into the same column as that Manju, the Manju's effect will be negated by True Depths.

For this reason, True Depths doesn't work against cards that remove themselves for cost, like Rescue Rabbit.

The Mekk-Knight monster only needs to be in the column the effect was activated in when that effect resolves.

Just the latter. It doesn't matter whether or not the Mekk-Knight monster is in the column of the monster that activated the effect. It only matters that the Mekk-Knight monster is in the column the effect was activated in.

For this reason, True Depths doesn't work against cards that remove themselves for cost, like Rescue Rabbit.

Therefore, this isn't true either. It's feasible for the World Legacy card in question to negate effects like Rescue Rabbit's with its effect.

Just to make sure, Diffusion Wave-Motion vs FLIP. Are FLIP negated?
Apply to any effect that sounds like it'd kick in before the monster dies, when it is more or less decided it's dying.

I feel like this part of the steps on battle should be basic for me to know, but yeah....

Yes, Flip monsters' effects activate after damage calculation, so if they are destroyed by battle, they are negated.

I have a few questions:

1 - Can I use face up Pendulum Monster in the Extra Deck as materials for Odd-eye Fusion?

2 - Can I activate Galaxy Cyclone from the Graveyard to destroy face up Imperial Order on the field?

3 - Can I use A Hero Emerges to summon a ritual monster from my hand?

Yes.

Yes (it specifically states "on the field" in its text.

No, must be Ritual Summoned first.

If I pendulum summoned, and then replace a card in the Pendulum Zone with another pendulum card, will I be able to pendulum summon again?

No, you can only Pendulum Summon once per turn, replacing a card in the Pendulum Zone will not make you able to do that again. Also, since you weren't being specific in how you replaced it, you also cannot replace them the same way Field Spells can be replaced, once they are in there, they stay there until destroyed or removed by a card effect in some other way.

If Sangan's effect is negated on the field, will its effect be able to activate when it is sent to the graveyard?

Can there be 2 Earthbound Immortal monsters on the field, one on each player's field?

Can Raigeki destroy monsters on Extra Monster Zone?

1- Through Skill Drain or something similar, since Sangan's effect AFTER it is sent to the GY, the negation wouldn't apply. And, if it was just Breakthrough skill, lingering effects on monsters go away when it changes location.

2- No. Your opponent cannot place one on the field while you control one, and vice versa.

3- Yes. Raigeki does not specify locations, merely all monsters your opponent controls. They control their monster in the EMZ, therefore it is destroyed too.

Can pendulum summon or activate a pendulum card on the pendulum zone start a chain link?

To Pendulum Summon isn't to activate a card or effect. The only way to create a Chain Link is to activate a card or effect.

Activating a card in the Pendulum Zone is activating a card/effect. When you active a card or effect, you are generally also creating a Chain Link.

What happens if you use a Rank-Up-Magic or a Utopia the Lightning Summon clause on a monster in the main zone? Will it move to the extra zone or stay in the main zone?

Every Summon that comes from ED should use the EMZ or a Linked zone. If you have a CD Nova (just to make an example, number s39 falls in this as well) on MMZ and try to slap infinity on top, it will move to EMZ, and if that zone already has a monster on it (and no linked zones aviable), you cant "rank it up".

Thanks for your reply, 2 more questions:

1 - When a card face "choose the attack target" for an opponent monster's attack, can I choose another opponent monster for an attack target?
2 - When Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem is destroyed, can it special summon another Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem from the graveyard?
