[spoiler=Flint Ge'em]Name: Flint "Cueball" Ge'em (gee-ehm)

Gender: Male-aroo
Age: 38
Team: Quantum.
[spoiler=Physical Description]

Flint's a big guy. That much is obvious just by glancing at him-- his size gives him this presence of always being nearby, what with his mountain's back and basketball shoulders. His neck is thick, like a fat steak, and his chest is as wide as a barrel. His waist isn't thin by any measure, and his legs are stocky and hefty, each step loud and announcing. His hands and feet are large, but thankfully are proportional to his body. This large body of his has a surprisingly proportional head, though it may look bigger than it actually is since he's shaved clean, with a shiny cream top. His skin is an olive-cream colour, and his hazel eyes give off a cold glint of constant discontent and impulsive action. His nose is bent in two places, with a bludgeoned end from having it be broken one or two too many times. His jaw is hard, with the slightest hints of fuzz growing on it thanks to his constant shaving. This fuzz spreads over his lips and under his nose, as well. His ears are rounded, and the top of his head is flattish.

He stands at a rough 6'2", and weighs in at a staggering 228 lbs. His hands are constantly covered in black stains from working on cars, and his nails are cracked and dirty almost all the time. He has long tattoos going down both of his arms-- one arm dedicated to all the women in his life ("All o' 'em were backstabbin' hoes, though. Ain't none left in my life no more."), and the other is a drawn out design of a dragon, oddly enough with a Mustang GT as a head. His front right tooth and canine have been replaced with gold and silver pieces, respectfully, giving his smile a crooked, almost devilish look. He has deep stress lines in his forehead, and almost no signs of laugh lines in his face whatsoever. He gives off an air of quiet, seething power and impulse.

[spoiler=Personality]

On first sight, of course, this hulking beast of a man looks like a complete ruffian-- an individual that'd rather beat you down and rob you than ask politely for a dollar or two. While you wouldn't exactly be wrong about that, he's had enough run-ins with the law for a lifetime, and though he's quick to anger, he's slow to confrontation. He's learned the magical art of patience and control over the past few years-- no longer flying into mindless rages at every petty little insult-- but even so, it's easier to rile him than most. Even so, he himself is masterful at discovering when others are trying to use his emotion against him, since it's happened so often before. He usually tries to keep himself intimidating, but also respectable. He's a bit ashamed of his past, so he tries to cover it up as much as he can, though he can't exactly hide his two metal teeth or constantly chapped and stained hands.

Speaking of those hands, thanks to all the delicate work that Flint's done on cars, he can be surprisingly gentle. He's deft with his hands, and though most of that shiny, bald head of his is full of impulse, the vast majority of it's filled with mechanical knowledge. Specifically, car knowledge. He knows the ins and outs of just about every car to have made it to America. If you have a car question, or a mechanics question in general, you can come to him. Though, don't come to him about much else. And never, ever ask him if he's ever graduated from high school or college. That's a one-way street to painville. Though, not if you're a kid. Like most giants with a heart, he's a sucker for kids. Though he won't hesitate to smack you around if you're deserving of it, even if you're younger than him. He generally tries to be likable, respectable, but intimidating as well.

Also, for a mechanic, he dresses rather nice. While he's not afraid to wear his blue-jeans and mechanics jacket out on a tough day, generally he tries to dress nice-- he's preferable to polos more than anything, but he tries to buy anything without a collar. Claims that he doesn't want to 'look like the man'. His shoes are usually his everyday work boots, but if he's headed somewhere special (like on a date, or out to buy some groceries) he'll generally wear light grey sneakers or brown dress shoes. He has a single suit, though it's gotten dusty and old with age...

[spoiler=Biography]

Born three decades ago to an abandoned mother in the slums of Detroit, Michigan, to say life was hard for young Flint Ge'em was an understatement. Born skinny and meek, he was-- of course-- the kind of kid a bully picked on when he was having a bad day. It wasn't so bad, though. After all, young Flint and his mother had a special little business of theirs that they'd always come back to, if they needed a cheer-up. Plus, that business earned them a swell bit of cash on the side, as well. That business is what sparked young Flint's love of cars, since he and his mother were mechanics, working out of their home/workplace. Even so, the cash wasn't enough to get them out of the ghetto they were living in. So, as soon as he was old enough, Flint went off looking for jobs-- any kind of job at all-- to help with the cash flow. Anything to get 'Maw' out of that place. Eventually, as fate would have it, he would end up becoming a car mechanic like his mother-- off to work at a local car dealership.

It didn't take long for his knowledge of cars and ability to be noticed by the higher ups. Eventually, he became the head of his area, directing other mechanics and teaching the newbies how to care for the cars the way they'd need to. It was a decent life he lived, that is, until the year after his big promotion. Those bullies from before were still around, but with him working all the time and working out whenever he had the time (he never wanted to be a target for his size ever again) they had no real way to make him pay. Pay for what, you ask? For not being their handy-dandy punching bag whenever they wanted to beat down on someone. So, what did they do about it? The only thing gangbangers and thugs know how to do: they drove by his mom's shop, whipped out their Mac-11s and M9s, and shot the place up. By the time he got home, his mom was in critical condition, and the thugs were long gone. To this day, Flint has no idea who the people were who put his mom in the hospital for the rest of her life, and who the people were that forced him and his mother into ludicrous debt with the lack of insurance they had, but to this day he curses them.

Two jobs just weren't enough. They were going to lose the house. These were the reasons he gave his mother one night before he left, never to see her again. Not because he didn't want to, but because what he'd be taking part in was dangerous-- too dangerous to risk having his mother be connected to him. She cried, and he cried, but tears wouldn't solve the issue at hand. Only bravery, and a tolerance for pain, both things Flint had in loads, would get them through these dark times. And so, the two Ge'ems said goodbye for the last time, as Flint started down the dark road of pain, known as 'Underground Dueling'.

He'd heard of Duel Monsters before, but with money so tight and time so limited, he'd never had the chance to pick up the game when it was ripe. Nowadays, rare cards that would cost obscene amounts of money were commodities in the original days. He'd kill to go back to a time like that. Now, however, he had to settle for the deck that his manage lent him: a set of three cards that the manager felt not only would lead the both of them to becoming Dueling Legends, but cars that truly fit his musclebound puppet. These three cards were the first in the archetype now renowned by the world as the 'Card Cars'.

His time underground payed off, however. Though he had to do some shady, and downright nasty things-- one time even resulting in a prison sentence after being caught beating and stealing cards from a pro-- eventually, the manager's plans worked. He became infamous. The 'Cueball', as he was known (for his bald head). Even big name dueling managers were looking to hire him (especially with the addition of 'Mashfire City' to his Card Car arsenal), but that traffic all but stopped the night Flint was convicted of murder.

Don't misunderstand: he'd never killed the man. It was obvious slander and false presentation of evidence, but the court ate it up, given Flint's background and where he grew up: it was only natural that he'd be convicted. The time spent getting to jail was the worst part of it, though. The thought that at any given time, his mother could change the channel and see her son being stowed away like some kind of criminal (which, by all definitions, he was. But for something ENTIRELY different). Even though jail time was bad, he'd made some friends there. Friends that taught him to defend himself. Friends that taught him how to replace lost teeth. Friends that gave free, custom tattoos for just a pack of smokes. The TRUE friends. And when the day came that he was finally released (after someone mysteriously disappeared, and the missing evidence that would've protected him was released) he promised to make their lives better once he became big. Though his deck had been revoked, and his life forever changed by dueling, he just couldn't quit. It was his crack; his heroine; his drug. In many ways, he needed it to feel complete.

That's when he was taken to Japan. After all, America didn't want him dueling for them any longer: especially not in the pros. The media never called him 'Flint', always 'previously convicted felon', or some iteration. So, for the next few of his dueling days, he was trained in Japan-- learning the language, the people, and assimilating into their culture very, very well. It was about this time that he learned his signature card, Orbitalfire Wonder, was technically an illegal card, and what was got him in jail in the first place. He'd received it from his old manager as a trump card right before he was jailed for a crime he didn't commit. Instead, he was given a new ace, an ace that'd lead him to a bright new future: Streamline. With this and Piecefire, he became nigh undefeated in the pros, rising to the top meteorically, and becoming a 'rags to riches' icon for the ages. An international figure of change. Even though he lost in the third-to-last round of Worlds due to bricking, hard, some argue that if he hadn't bricked out twice in a row, he might've made it to the finals.

Nowadays, he rests in a self-bought and maintained mechanics shop where he works alone, and works custom cars-- anything from Porches to Buicks, and anything in between. For the past few years, however, he's been working on maintaining the limousines for the world of Dueling Monster's heads: KaibaCorp and Industrial Illusions, to name two. It's been a nice, steady source of income for the older duelist. He didn't forget his mother, however. Though he still wasn't allowed to see her, he often sent her money and cards of himself in Japan, along with pictures of the cities and landscape. Though, he's afraid he won't be able to keep this up...

After all, once a street rat, always a street rat. He's learned to keep his ears to the street rather than to the radio if he wants to get some real news. And he's not liking what he's hearing. Underground activity's never gotten him in the right, nor in the good. He'd need to play this out right. After all, if the news about the Rare Hunters supposedly planning to attack Industrial Illusions and even Maximillian Pegasus himself (whom he'd met once, at Worlds), then what else could they be right about...?

Deck: Card Cars - An archetype of FIRE Machine-type monsters who are mostly Level 9, and are one of the few archetypes to have gotten an Xyz Monster based on their monsters. Though it's generic, and can be used by anybody with the ability to summon 2 Level 9s (the same is true of their Synchro Monster) its synergy is incredible when used with the Card Cars. The archetype itself works by dumping old cars in the 'scrapheap' to get boosts for other cars, or make room for others. Along with this, Flint's opening move consists of summoning his favourite card: Card Car D-- another car, if you couldn't tell.

My RP bone never stops itching, it would seem.

Care to give me a short summary of how this all works for somebody who didn't bother with the movie? I've tried reading the OP like three times since this thread has started and still can't make sense of it. Consider me as having pending interest since I don't have a clue what's going on here but I really do like YGO RPs for some reason.

Right, here is what has happened so far in a nutshell. I’ll add this to the main page and update it every chapter or so.

Prelude

2 Chronoarcs (deities) known as Eternal Sol and Darkmyre have identified the Quantum Cube (the strange artefact that Aigami uses in the DarkSide of Dimensions) as being an unauthorized creation using stolen portions of their powers by something yet unknown, and identify it as a threat to the multiverse-spanning empire they rule over. However they cannot agree on the course of action, so decide to implement a game of Senet (which is similar to the Shadow RPG, but with it working on a real world, in real time), with the world where the cube is as the playing field, and guiding the mortals on that world to collect the cube for one of them.

Seto Kaiba, who acquired the cube and used it to create a machine to let his mind travel to the Egyptian Afterlife and duel Atem again, is left comatose (again!) after the machine malfunctions when the Senet game displaces the cube from time-space.

Chapter 1: Party Crashers

A gala event is hosted at the Lake Pegasus Centre (Imagine Epot, but with more duel monsters), where Tomoya Yagi and Gekko Tenma (The hero introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh R) run the chateau where Pegasus lives, and also where the event is held. An elderly Pegasus and a shaken-up Mokuba arrive for the keynote speech, but the event is ambushed by Rare Hunters. They take Tomoya hostage and steal the headline display: Six of the Millennium Items, and the Codex of Shadows (known better in canon as the Millennium Spellbook or Tome: the book that contained the ritual to make the items).

Tomoya is brought to the Rare Hunters HQ, in an old foundry in Domino City’s abandoned dockyards, to face their leader PaniK (the eliminator from Duellist Kingdom) and how to open the Codex. The Codex however is possessed by a malevolent spirit, who allows Tomoya to open the Codex and release him, fusing together to become Yami Tomoya.

Yami Tomoya challenges PaniK for control of the Rare Hunters in a Shadow Game, defeating him and crushing the remainder of his mind with a penalty game. Yami Tomoya then persuades the Rare Hunters to serve him, revealing his plan to recreate the Millennium Items (which were left powerless when returned to the stone) and continuing what Zorc failed to accomplish, with them as kings and queens of a new “dark age”. Agreeing, Yami Tomoya arranges a plan to heist thousands of blank cards from KaibaCorp Tower’s underground research facility, so he can use them to collect souls for the ritual.

Chapter 2: Materialization (Ongoing!)

The Quantum Cube rematerializes into time-space on Seto Kaiba’s desk.

Mokuba and Emfur are driven to KaibaCorp so they find where Tomoya went, by using the GPS locators on the Duel Disk network. However, as Toshiro arrives to collect information regarding the Rare Hunters from contact (before murdering him), Yami Tomoya throws himself out from a car. Sensing an unknown power from the tower, he diverts from the plan and pretends to be a normal Tomoya who has just been released by the Rare Hunters. He is assisted by Emfur and a security guard, taking him to Seto’s office to administer alcohol and calm him down.

Meanwhile, behind KaibaCorp, the Hunters are about to use Tomoya’s ID to enter the facility.

Uerm...

Anybody know what happened to EpicBoss? He's been gone for, like, a while, now. :L

It seems we're down to 3 again, as he hasn't been on since mid July. *sigh* Might've been unsure at first, but I really am loving this.

Great. While I could use the inactive clause to take control of his character, I don’t see any reason to do so as he was just looking to duel random NPCs. For now, consider him inactive.

Glad to hear you are, otherwise I would be disappointed. I do want to see new applicants. Any suggestions on how we could get more people to join?

I advertised it myself in the form of a status, and no one seriously responded to that. I don't really know that many RPers. A good idea would be to talk to someone like Cowcow; they would know who might be interested in this.
