The people might, it only failed by 4 votes

That's the sorta margin you'd strong arm to make work in the US

The 4 vote margin was the Spelman Amendment. The actual vote was 321-278. Also, enjoy this.

The majority against a second referendum is 100 votes bigger than the majority against May's deal.

Any MP who says that 'a second referendum is the only way forward now' because May's deal was defeated is being beyond hypocritical.

Latest majority against May's deal: 149
Latest majority against 2nd Ref: 249

Timing was an issue for Labor, not the principle; hence, they abstained. Try again.

A third meaningful vote on May's has been preempted unless it is substantially different from the previous one.

Thank god(s). I've seen the same deal pushed repeatedly, and shot down each time. There's no time for a new draft, the old draft is something nobody wants, and it's 1 billion pounds for each month of delay paid out to the EU. Why are they delaying a hard brexit again?

A deal for a delay, it seems. Take it what you will.

Bloomberg: EU Gives Theresa May Another Two Weeks to Avoid a No-Deal Brexit.
https://www.bloomber...y-back-to-april

Here is the gist, it is an initial two week extension to allow May to push her deal once more. Depending on the result, one of two additional extensions may/will happen.

There's also a petition going round to revoke article 50 that has 2.2 million signatories thus far, but that number is completely irrelevant.

This is lovely, the House of Commons passed an Amendment that would allow a series of Indictive Votes to take place to decide what kind of Brexit they would back. Interesting development. In essence, the House and not the Government are in charge.

I felt that was gonna happen given the PM hadn't garnered enough support for her deal.

Know how many people voted for Brexit the first time? Yeah it's a total meme number. There will be hell to pay for the Tories if they fuck up on this, and what about the pro-brexit labor seats?

We'll just have to see what will happen with the indicative votes seeing as MPs voted to take control.

The count is 5 million plus right now, but point still stands.

Spelling it Labour

What is it about drinking Tea that makes people think they need to be hip about these things

Point still stands, people are all moon eyed about 1M people showing up for the woman's march. Cute, pales when you realize how many people voted for Trump

Over here it IS spelled Labour. I can't help correcting spellings of words (even words who have different spelling across the pond), and if you have got a problem with that, then it's a you problem.

The Article 50 petition will receive time for debate next week, as per custom to petitions that get over 100,000 signatures.

Updates on the Indicative Votes. Also, May has vowed to step down if her deal is passed. Shocking development.
