WIND/Synchro-Type Wyrm Pendulum Effect/Level 9/3200 ATK/2000 DEF

Scales: 3/3

Pendulum Lore: Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; halve its ATK, and if you do, you can Special Summon 1 Wyrm-Type Tuner Monster from your Graveyard whose ATK is equal to or less than the ATK that target lost. It cannot be used as a Synchro Material this turn.

Lore: 1 Wyrm-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

When this card is Special Summoned, halve the ATK and DEF of all other face-up monsters on the field. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a Spell/Trap effect is activated while the ATK of a monster(s) on the field is different from its original ATK or DEF: Your opponent can pay LP equal to the difference between the current and original ATK of all monsters on the field to negate this effect, otherwise negate that activation, and if you do, shuffle that card into the Deck. When this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed (by battle or by card effect): Place it in your Pendulum Zone.

Oh yeah, Lumi'neityr is based off this, for the uninitiated-into-suckholish-Wyrm-monsters-demographic: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Al-Lumi'raj

Went the Coral Dragon way with the evolution's design too-so I apologize for any retinal harm from this card's butt-ugliness.

Anyways, image goes to Google, review, relay, you know the drill, let's get to spelunking.

BDS, signing off.

It's nice to see something that synergizes with Al-Lumi'raj. That's enough lore to earn my satisfaction.

I wonder how useful the Pendulum Effect would be, since you'd usually be able to remove something that could be targeted but had high ATK. Put simply, the only time you'd want to get rid of something by battle would be when it couldn't be targeted or destroyed otherwise, so if you can't target the big boss monster, what are you gonna do?

The Special Summon is at least a little helpful, since you can summon back the tuner used to Synchro Summon this card, but the only other Wyrm Tuners are in Yang-Zing, a Deck often outclassed by some of the Meta. I'd leave out the clause preventing it from being used in a Synchro Summon, since if you have Deck space to run Wyrm-types, you'll be fine Synchro Summoning.

This seems to be a brute force kind of Synchro, relying on getting past big monsters. While that may be good against a few Decks, it probably only works against the same strategies. On the other hand, it may be very powerful, since it can let you simply make game from sheer attack power.

There's always Utopia Beyond, though.

The second effect is pretty tough, although a bit gimmicky. If you lower an opponent's monster's ATK, you'd probably want to run over it right then and there, so unless you were using Burden of the Mighty (which would make your opponent feel fine about paying a few LP), they may be able to very easily bait the monster (not to mention Burden of the Mighty is a bad card).

As far as the level is concerned, it's quite easily accessible, since Al-Lumi'raj is level 3. My question is, though, Trishula may just directly outclass this since its effect is less situational. Either way, there's no reason to outright not use this card because of that; It has a valuable 3 scale that some Decks struggle to get, and a ton of ATK. So, while gimmicky and anime-like, it has potential.
