[spoiler=SM091]

  • Only Ash and Kiawe show up here.
  • Girl who runs the Pikachu Valley is insistent that they add "pika" to end of sentences, dress like Pikachu somewhat and a bunch of other things.
    • Also yeah, in the real world, her putting Pikachu tails on people could be seen as inappropriate touching (well, you guys know what I'm referring to)
  • Ash's Pikachu mistook the Alolan Pikachu's greeting and decided to show he's buff.
  • Shiny Pika challenges him to a fight and Ash's one wins
  • Mimikyu apparently let itself out of ball. (uh, who's the wise guy who decided to go somewhere where you KNOW Mimikyu is going to go apeshit on Pikachu)
  • Ohai Let's Snuggle Forever...
  • Pikarla uses Z-move to stop Mimikyu (and apparently her boss shiny Pika knows Volt Tackle)
  • Apparent role call for all Pikas.
  • Ash wants to use the Pikachu exclusive Z-move, but he doesn't have Volt Tackle anymore. (Uh Ash, did you forget that Pika forgot it somewhere in 2009-2010 for Electro Ball or do you have Alzheimer's / 5-year old's memory about it)
    • We all know Ash forgets everything after he goes to a new region, so....

IDK, I was kinda cringing somewhat at the amount of Pika speech in this episode, but probably because it was forced.

(Oh and apparently Bewear is male, however could've been bad animation or planning by writers.)

[spoiler=New opening]

IDK, I liked Future Connection better somewhat, but we'll deal with it.

Also Eevee appears to be with Ash in opening, so...hopefully he lands up with it and not the other characters.

So instead of being an overprotective mom, Bewear is an overprotective dad? An overprotective dad that defies Physics?

Hello, Wiz and Boomstick, for the next Death Battle how about Bewear vs. All Might?

I forgot S/M airs on Sundays now, so only had time to watch it today due to getting day off.

[spoiler=SM092]

  • OK, Ash and Prof. Burnet want to see Royal Mask with Kukui, but he is the Masked Royal.
  • Kukui asks Molayne for help, to which he accepts.
  • Mad Boober still shows up after getting ass kicked a few episodes ago; least not Bourgain this time.
  • Change of clothes thing backfires when Faba/James mistake him as a fake.
  • Uh Faba, youʻre too white and lean to be Masked Royal. (Not enough muscle for it)
    • Before someone gets offended by this statement, it just means that Fabaʻs skin tone is too light to pass as a convincing Masked Royal fake. Same could go for Molayne to some extent.
  • Incineroar surprised to see Kukui on other side while "Faba" was using it to pass as Royal.
  • Stuff happens, Molayne shuts off the lights so Kukui can revert and beat Boober again.
  • Things end peacefully and no Bewear breaking sheet.
  • Also no narrator voice except Kukui, but we all know what happened to Ishizuka.

What's this?! I'm posting in this thread after a month and not posting episode thoughts? (In all seriousness, I do need to catch up, same with Vrains as both anime I haven't watched in the last 5/6 weeks)

Anywho, new episode titles

Episode 1040: Dartrix the Master!!! Rowlet the Sleeperzzz (November 18th)
Episode 1041: The Duo Splits Up!? Ash & Rotom (November 25th)
Episode 1042: Where is Eevee Going? To the End of the World for the Sake of a Meeting! (December 2nd)
Episode 1043: The Lightning that Blocks Wind! Its name is Zeraora (December 9th)

So Hau finally makes an appearance with his Dartrix, SM98 screams filler to me, the Eevee makes its appearance in front of the main cast, and Zeraora appears in the main series, that's something I suppose (I heard that Zeraora was in the opening, so I'll have to check that out when I get around to catching up on SM). I'm calling it now, the Zeraora trainer will beat Ash in the league.

EDIT (19th Nov): New episode title

Episode 1044: Fire it Off! The Twin Gigavolt Havoc of Friendship!! (December 16th)

It features Ash ending up in a city that has been destroyed by an Ultra Beast just to find Zeraora and its trainer

EDIT (26th Nov): New episode title
Episode 1044: An Alola! in Alola! Brock and Misty! (December 23rd)

It features Brock & Misty deciding to visit the Alola Region

EDIT (2nd Dec):

[spoiler=Spoiler owls]

With Lana capturing the Eevee (wasn't expecting that), I have a feeling that the league will likely be 3v3 battles as I don't see Ash having a full team by then at this point.

EDIT (9th Dec): First episode title of 2019;

Episode 1046: A Passionate Heart That Smashes Even Rocks! Olivia and Brock!! (January 6th)

Brock vs Olivia, that'll be an interesting match

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM091-97 (contains 7 separate spoilers)]
[spoiler=SM091]
- First impressions of the new opening, we see Vera's pokemon fighting against a 'destined opponent' (Lycanroc vs Gladion's, Rowlet vs Hau's dartrix, Torracat vs Kukui's Incineroar and Pikachu vs Zeraora), shame I had Zeraora in the opening spoiled for me, in any case I do think this implies that Vera's roster isn't going to change anytime soon sadly. Poipole is also present, though I don't see that as an indicator that it'll return.
- Pikarla is able to tell that Vera's Pikachu is from Kanto from how its fur sparkles (what about other non-Alolan Pikachus?  )
- When Pikarla explains the rules of Pikachu Valley, it was clear that Kiawe was initially uncomfortable (Rotomdex too), but soon warmed up to the idea
- Rotomdex informs Vera about the gender difference involving Pikachu's tail (Though Vera has previously seen female Pikachu back in XY, specifically XY078)
- I thought it was amusing when Pikachu misjudged the female's greeting thinking it was popular with the ladies
- Seeing Pikachu get attention from a certain female Pikachu, a shiny one comes in and challenges it to a duel to which humans have no business interfering
- Shiny Pikachu uses Volt Tackle (a move that hasn't been seen in 359 episodes, the last time being BW014 and I legitimately forgot Pikachu used Volt Tackle in that episode as I remembered it was used against Cress for sure)
- Mimikyu watches on and Jessie says that they can use Mimikyu's hatred for Pikachu in order to get Vera's, shame it captured every other Pikachu
- *facedesk* at Pikarla thinking that Mimikyu is a cosplayer
- Apparently when using the Z-Move, Mimikyu's body heats up enough so it can float (WTF is this bollocks?)
- What's this?! Team Rocket had a proper blast off? What is this madness? (Sure Bewear caught them as they fell, but who cares? Though I'd like to know where the hell it got the headband and tail)
- Hoshi says that Vera should use Catastropika, but Rotomdex says that Pikachu needs Volt Tackle to use it (Shame Pikachu overwritten that move in Best Wishes for Electro Ball)
- Pikarla decides to do a roll call and Rotomdex says it'll be evening by the time she is done, funnily enough in the post credits scene evening had fallen by the time she was done
- The new ending is basically the previous ending with slightly different lyrics (also it's the first time that Sensu-style Oricorio is seen)
- On another note, this episode is similar to ep039, in which it's an episode involving a fuckton of Pikachu and also both episodes were the first to air following the change in timeslots (The series originally aired on Tuesdays, and moved to Thursday from ep039-SM090)

[spoiler=SM092]
- Once again Mad Booburn fails to get revenge on the Masked Royal and after the match he announces that he will be doing a meet & greet starting at MeleMele, something that gets Vera and Burnet hyped (which puts Kukui in a difficult position as well)
- Kukui goes to Molayne to explain his predicament (accompanying Vera/Burnet to the meet & greet) and asks him to assist by slipping backstage and swapping with Kukui when it's Burnet's turn (That is a questionable strat tbf)
- Meanwhile Team Rocket are selling funk all as everyone is preoccupied with the Masked Royal. As Meowth contemplates closing, James decides to bugger off on his break (Which is code for "I'm going to the meet & greet")
- During the demonstration Torracat wanted to get down into the ring, but Vera had to explain that it can't
- Of course James would be sitting next to Faba and the pair fangasmed over the super rare shirts they were wearing and when Kukui went to take a break, Faba explains that he knows the Masked Royal suggesting they go backstage to get a handshake and an autograph
- James and Faba notice Molayne go into the dressing room and Faba knows that he must be a cosplayer (as he knows who the Masked Royal is), but as soon as they see the mask, they tie him up and accuses him of stealing (Misunderstanding much?)
- Mad Booburn comes to get his revenge yet again, taking everyone hostage and calling the Masked Royal a coward for not showing up
- Faba puts on the mask and to take on Mad Booburn and noone is enthusiastic (it's as if they know he's a fake  ) and when he gets his ass handed to him, Mad Booburn calls him a fraud
- Molayne conveniently causes a blackout giving Kukui the chance to put the mask back on and finish off Mad Booburn
- Kukui lies to Burnet about seeing Molayne off to justify not seeing Burnet shake the Masked Royal's hand (Got away with it again it seems)
- At least Faba and James got their super rare shirts autographed in the end.

[spoiler=SM093]
- After a 5 and a half week holiday, Lillie, Lana, Mallow and Sophocoles return to the series
- Jessie picks up a script that went awol, which is implied to have been Vera's as he lost his. Of course Jessie's actress senses tingle and she wants in on it
- The audience consists of everyone's families, including Delia and Mimey (More money spent on plane tickets to Alola then  )
- Why the pokemon are wearing costumes when they're playing themselves is beyond me
- As soon as Jessie arrived as Lunala, everyone was confuzzled as there wasn't a Lunala in the script, thus had to improvise with Rotom panic writing a script
 - Also, why Xerneas/Yveltal's battle theme was playing in the bg is beyond me
- Much of the rest of the play was random as funk tbph, and of course Bewear would show up in some capacity (even saving Jessie from falling), dragging TR away before the final applause (To be fair, they weren't in the original script)
- When Meowth suggests they leave before they figure out that they're Team Rocket (You'd think they'd have recognised the talking Meowth  ), but Jessie wanted to stay till the end.
- As for the first Eevee short, Eevee pretty much made a getaway from the Houndour it pissed off. (It probs wasn't intending on getting on that boat)

[spoiler=SM094]
- Lana mentions that since Harper and Sarah saw a haunted house on TV that they want to go to one, shame they don't exist in Alola
- Acerola arrives to deliver a book and suggests they make a haunted house with Principal Oak greenlighting the use of the school
- Acerola randomly has a Shuppet now, ok
- When I saw Vera and Kiawe in sheets (lame ghost costumes btw), I was like "where's the Silph Scope?  " given Marowak was under a sheet
- Seeing as her Mimikyu is a ghost, Acerola mentions that some ghost pokemon often follow it and crazy town stuff happens courtesy of Mismagius
 - Lana and Acerola end up at a tea party, hosted by a Lampent, Chandelure. coincidently DP043's English title was a pun on the story that the two were trapped in and that episode involved a Mismagius
 - Mallow and Sophocoles end up in a Hansel and Gretel-style scenario
 - Harper and Sarah have Beautifly and Vivillon wings and play with the ghost pokemon
 - And Vera, Kiawe and Lillie end up watching a puppet show involving a Banette and become puppets themselves
- eventually Lana and Acerola realise that this is an illusion and thanks to Komala, they all wake up and Acerola apologises for the chaos
- RIP Eevee's cruise ship. A random Wailord must've sensed that the boat had a stowaway. At least a Mantine saved it

[spoiler=SM095]
- Lusamine informs the Ultra Guardians that a magnetic disturbance is happening across Wela Volcano and if left unchecked, it can funk with the Aether Foundation's ability to detect Ultra Aura
- Upon arrival, Vera wonders how they'll detect magnetic activity, and Sophocoles and Lillie reveal that they "borrowed" two sensors (stole basically)
- The boys decide to check the mines whilst the girls check the surface. Lillie takes a photo after detecting a signal and of course random Hikers would photobomb in hilarious fashion
- The boys discover a hoarde of Alolan Geodude and Graveler and for the first time ever, we see a pokedex entry for it (Graveler).
 - They're eating discount chargestones and when some hunters tries to scare them off so they can take the stones for themselves, the boys tell them that the stones are for everyone.
- Kiawe deduces that something is happening underground and the boys head there next where they see more blokes mining
- The random Hikers come out of nowhere and tell the boys that they're planning on selling the stones which angers Kiawe, thus they continue to search
- When they see the hunters unconscious, the boys wake them up and explain they were attacked by an Alolan Golem that went on a rampage that not even Pikachu and Togedemaru could qwell (Then again, the Golem did use Geodudes for ammo)
- As Golem is about to fire a Geodude at Vera and Sophocoles, Metang intervenes and the pair engage in a battle of strength, spurred on by the other electric-types (and Marowak) which eventually results in a Metang victory. (Though the exchange of iron sand was odd as funk)
- After reporting what had happened, Lusamine says that she'll organise patrols of the volcano which the Hikers decide to undertake.
 - Oh and said Hikers randomly capture the Golem
- Meanwhile Eevee is doing a spot of Mantine Surfing

[spoiler=SM096]
- Kukui finds that Burnet left her lunch at home, so Vera offers to take it in for her, and it just so happens that Lusamine wanted him and Rotom at Aether Paradise anyway (How convenient)
- Team Rocket have been hired by Wicke to count the pokemon in the conservation area. Of course they have an ulterior motive, steal the pokemon. Faba walks past and is sure that they look familiar, but shrug it off
- Whilst Jessie counts the pokemon and goes to count the Jigglypuff, she is relieved not to see the Jigglypuff with the pen (whom she last encountered in SM056). Meanwhile said Jigglypuff draws on a drampa's face after it falls asleep
- Meowth makes a claim that the Whimsicott he is chatting to will be happy with Giovanni (Bull funking sheet)
- With the head count donion rings, Team Rocket goes to put their plan into action, but upon seeing Vera, they cease and sneak off, but their list blows away and is found by Faba. Meanwhile a Stufful follows Team Rocket
- Faba informs Wicke and the others that Stufful is unaccounted for, and Wicke is worried as she rescued said Stufful and everyone splits up
- Unable to lose Stufful, Team Rocket stop and Jessie tries to capture Stufful but to no avail. eventually after hearing the tannoy, they run with Stufful in tow.
- When Team Rocket got cornered, Faba accuses them of being thieves (and Meowth says that their instinct was to run whilst pondering their actions), thus they reveal their identities.
- As Pikachu goes to launch a Thunderbolt, Bewear drops by and notices the Stufful in Jessie's hair and is happy to see it. It turns out that Bewear is the Stufful's mum and Wicke is happy that Stufful has reunited with its mother. (Nice U-Turn, accuses Team Rocket of stealing, then turns a blind eye when its mum turns up)
- RIP Aether Foundation helicopter
- Meanwhile Eevee has completed its Mantine Surf and ends up on MeleMele, chasing a Wimpod before chowing down on Nanab berries.

[spoiler=SM097]
- Hau is training with Dartrix so he can beat Hala when it notices Vera in its peripheral vision and pins him down. Hau learns that Ash can use Z-Moves and asks if he beat Hala
- Hau explains that he's been away from Alola with his dad and now that he can take the Island Pilgrimage, he wants to beat Hala first
- After Rotom confirms what Vera already figured out, Vera introduces his Rowlet (whose bedhead Dartrix tried to fix) who he explains beat Hala's Crabrawler which amazes Hau (Of course what Hau doesn't know is that it is now a Crabominable)
- Vera has a battle with Hau, but thanks to a sloppy display in dropping the Grassium-Z, he loses, but after a sudden surge of seriousness from Rowlet, he challenges Hau to a rematch which is scheduled for the next day
- Burnet and Kukui suggests that Rowlet should go back to its roots to learn a new move after the former talked about how Kukui's Incineroar learned Cross Chop
- The next morning, Vera goes to where they first met Rowlet and find Trumbeak and Toucannon eating rocks (a trait common with bird 'mons) then demonstrate Bullet Seed.
 - Vera wants Rowlet to learn the move, but Rotomdex says it can't, but he still tries anyway. eventually, Rowlet finds an Everstone and uses that to learn Seed Bomb, a move that it can learn in USUM via move tutor (Which makes Toucannon a non-human move tutor  )
  - RIP Rowlet evolving. Vera is shocked when he sees the Everstone, but he should know what it does because Dawn was given one in DP122
- Vera meets with Hau for the rematch and along with a powered-up Bloom doom (and no slip ups), he emerges victorious. After which, Rowlet swallows its Everstone (Rowlet-x-Everstone OTP).
- Meanwhile Eevee gets its lights punched out by a Pyukumuku and encounters the group's pokemon

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM098-105 (contains 8 separate spoilers)]
[spoiler=SM098]
- Vera is watching the shooting of Alola detective Lucky when Rotom interrupts, trying to prevent a plot hole. Vera scolds Rotom, but the producer wants Rotom to be on the show
- The producer explains that after filming so many episodes, they've fallen into a rut and says that a new character, ie Rotom would be exciting.
- At school, Rotom starts immitating the others, but Sophocoles explains that it should be itself (Wise words). They do a practice scene, but it results in the start of a battle (Nice improv folks)
- The producer reveals that Rotom's role will be "Rotom the Pokedex" and that they'll be filming overseas. This causes an argument between Vera and Rotom, with the latter explaining the technicality of Vera not capturing it, and how its free, and the two split up
- After class, Lillie talks to Vera about how she empathises with him when she lived away from Lusamine and suggests that he talks things over
- At his place, Lucky explains that when he started acting, all he had was bit roles and asks Rotom what its dream is
- The next day, Vera apologises to Rotom and Rotom explains that its dream is to be the best pokedex and wants to stay with Vera to encounter rare pokemon
- That evening, whilst watching the latest episode, it is revealed that Chatot is Lucky's new partner and that the overseas filming was for one episode so that the series' name wouldn't need to be changed
- Meanwhile Eevee plays with the group's pokemon when it gets blasted by Turtonator's shell

[spoiler=SM099]
- After a minute and a half recap of hijinks (at least it isn't as bad as Vrains), Eevee plays with a random Furfrou before sodding off into a forest.
- Harper and Sarah are excited due to their father coming home, with their mother saying that he caught all the pokemon for a lab, and spouting nonsense about Kyogre (Now we know where Lana gets her BS from)
- Whilst Lana is getting some Malasadas, Popplio helps Eevee get away from the recurring Persian. Of course when she realises Popplio is gone, Lana organises a search party to look for it
- Meanwhile Eevee and Popplio encounter the pokemon owned by Team Skull and after eyeballing it, Pinky and Blueboi argue over who has dibs on ownership (Spoilers: neither of them). This squabble is noticed by Rowlet who alerts everyone else
- Blueboi demands that the twerps hand over Eevee, but Vera says that none of them deserve Eevee with the way they're acting which results in a battle that Lana decides to fight
- Lana calls out Aqua Jet, but Popplio instead finds the TM for Surf and uses that instead giving Eevee the momentum to beat the Skull grunts with double edge
- Lana captures the Eevee (Finally a roster change for her) and names it Nagisa (Fitting name given its personality, *cough*CFV Nagisa*cough*)
- That evening, Lana's father returns home and upon seeing Eevee, recalls that he saw one riding on a Mantine

[spoiler=SM100]
- Wearing a shirt with the art of Surfing Pikachu from the TCG, Vera goes outside to see Kukui and Burnet taking in the surroudings, to which he joins in with. Of course this is watched by Tapu Koko
- On his way to school, Vera encounters Tapu Koko and says that he wants to get stronger for Poni's grand trial (That came out of nowhere, they don't have a Kahuna yet, not for some time at least)
- Vera has a battle with Tapu Koko which gets interrupted by shenanigans (involving a shiny Tapu Koko) resulting in Vera ending up in the Ultra Ruin
- Investigating the place, Vera has a run in with Guzzlord and when he tries to fight it, finds that his Z-Ring doesn't work
- A bloke named Dia comes by with his Zeraora (and music from the Advanced Generation series) and stalls Guzzlord enough so that they can escape
- Dia asks how Vera got here in the first place (Shenanigans with Tapu Koko), before adding that Guzzlord is an Ultra Beast that came out of nowhere and wrecked the place and even a squad called the Ultra Rangers could stop it
 - Also during the flashback, we see a boy resembling Red
- Vera offers to help Dia, but he refuses. Vera explains that he's dealt with Ultra Beasts alongside the Ultra Guardians, but Dia dismisses it as a kids game (Yeah, because Ultra Beasts cropping up in Alola is a kids game) and asks Vera to drop it.
 - Of course Vera would only do so if Dia beats him in battle... which happens
- Dia says that he'll contact the Ultra Rangers to take Vera home, until then he allows Vera to stay at his base which resembles a wrecked pokemon school
- All in all given Guzzlord's nature, I think it was best for its episode to be handled in its own world rather than in Alola. definitely a good episode that's for sure.

[spoiler=SM101]
- After seeing past photos of the Pokemon School, Vera notes the similarity and Dia chats about the theory of parallel worlds and about how wrong choices can have consequences like with what happened in the Ultra Ruins
- Dia reveals that Zeraora isn't technically his and that it was wanting to send Guzzlord back that brought the two together
- When Dia talked about Guzzlord's weakness (the second face above its mouth), the first thing I thought of was Slifer the Sky Dragon's weakness in the Yugioh anime, its second mouth. Vera notes that maybe if they can use Z-moves they can be successful, shame that Tapu Koko's absence makes that impossible
- Vera decides to do some training, however all it accomplished was annoying Dia and Zeraora, but eventually Pikachu and Zeraora engage in battle that unfortunately gets Guzzlord's attention
- As Guzzlord appears before them, Vera and Dia enact their plan of luring it to the wormhole that is getting smaller and just as they were about to succeed, Guzzlord had enough energy to break free
- shiny Tapu Koko appears to help with sending Guzzlord back allowing Vera/Dia to use their Z-move, and for some reason during the whole sequence, the Ash-Greninja theme plays in the background
- After sending Guzzlord back, there remained an issue, getting Vera back to his world, but it seemed that a battle with Zeraora was able to make that happen
- Vera was left unaware that despite spending the night in the parallel world, next to funk all time passed in the real world. This was made apparent when he apologised to Kiawe for missing their battle
- On another note, where did Vera find out Guzzlord's type and classification for the PokeProblem segment if Rotom was in the other world  .

[spoiler=SM102]
- As the holidays start, Vera asks what everyone has planned when Lana reveals that she invited guests, Brock and Misty and that her and Misty are pen pals
- Of course Vera would ask about the Cerulean Gym to which Misty mentions that her sisters are in charge (inb4 Daisy tries to simply give the challengers badges like she almost did back in AG134)
- Brock falls in love with the Nurse Joy as usual, but it's worth noting that this is the first time he has done so to a Nurse Joy that doesn't use the original design. Of course Misty drags him off (Croagunk who?)
 - Being a doctor in training, Brock sticks around to help Nurse Joy whilst the others sod off to have some fun
- At the den, Team Rocket realise that it's time to make their regular call to HQ, but as they do so, they're greeted by Alolan Meowth who says that Giovanni and Matori are too busy to deal with them (This sounds familiar). James comments on how it appears that HQ is beginning to forget about them and the trio fear that Malasadas will be their reality, thus they decide to do some mischief
 - It's saddening that their fall to mediocrity is all down to Bewear
- It's nice to see Psyduck still pop out of its pokeball at the most inconvenient of times. At least Moani was fine with it eating the watermelon
- Whilst shopping, Misty admires the trinkets and makes the mistake of sending out Corsola to check out the Corsola trinkets (triggered)
 - On another note, Corsola has now eclipsed Staryu's record as the longest absence of a pokemon belonging to a main character... by one episode (The last time Corsola appeared was in AG044, 723 episodes ago)
- The group decides to Mantine Surf towards the island Vera visited in SM020, and they had fun doing so, even performing some of the tricks
- I'd like to know how Misty knew that Cutiefly and Ribombee were Bug-types as she was hiding in the distance from them
- It was nice to see everyone have fun playing with all the Alolan Exeggutor
- Team Rocket takes all the Mantine inside their new mecha which is more durable than all their previous mechas. Misty is shocked to see that they're causing trouble in Alola, and Jessie says that they'll go anywhere for Giovanni. (Given what James assumed, it's like the time they almost went to Antartica in AG132)
- Misty mega evolves Gyarados and Team Rocket claims that she's cheating given that they're in Alola.
- Three Z-moves and a Hydro Pump from Mega Gyarados striking the mecha, Team Rocket Blasts off (It's almost as if the writers redeemed themselves from SM042). I was expecting Bewear to save them, but after what happened in SM042, I was glad to see TR get a proper blast off following a battle with Vera/Misty
- That night, Vera, Misty and Brock camp out just like old times

[spoiler=SM103]
- Whilst enjoying Brock's cooking (with Kiawe's cheese), Brock's lady senses tingle when Akala Island is mentioned, with Misty snarkily wondering what Brock was studying on the plane to Alola
- On Kiawe's farm, a Kangaskhan is scaring the resident pokemon, but it soon transpires that the baby is injured, so Brock decides to check on it
- Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting Brock to have a Comfey, that Nurse Joy gave to him after his help in SM102 no less. (I guess Chansey has officially joined Croagunk in the chopped liver department)
- Klutzy moment aside, Olivia mentions that she is offering the crown of Wela to the sacred flames and when Mallow suggests that they take a commemorative photo... of course the Hikers would photobomb it (They're probs the same ones from SM096). It's a commemorative photo ffs, then again that's probs not in their vocabulary  .
- When Olivia hears that Brock used to be a Rock-type gym leader, she wants to battle him. And she went to a move tutor to give her Lycanroc Drill Run.
 - At least we get to see Sudowoodo again, been a while since that was last seen, and has learned Low Kick and Feint Attack
- Of course the battle would be interrupted by Team Rocket, who comes in with a proper intimidating mech
- With Brock helping Olivia, Lycanroc's Continental Crush becomes a heart-shaped rock (My first thought was the heart-shaped rock that Homer and Marge had in the Simpsons), and before the mech is destroyed, Bewear comes in and rescues Team Rocket (funking Bewear dude)
- That evening, everyone including Olivia is enjoying the fireworks, and Vera, Misty and Brock renewing their dreams to one another

[spoiler=SM104]
- I would like to know the secret behind how those radishes got so long tbph
- Touching down on Poni, I dunno why the first thing Vera did was inquire whether the MeleMele Joy was younger than Poni's
- The class reveal their own research projects: Sophocoles wants to evolve Charjabug, Kiawe wants to train and get stronger, Mallow wants the radishes to add to her menu, Lana want to see I'a and Brionne again, Lillie wants to learn about the pokemon on Poni and obviously Vera wants to take the Grand Trial
 - I will say that Mallow's "project" (if you can even call it that) is the weakest of the lot tbph
- When it is revealed that Poni has no Kahuna (due to the previous one retiring due to ill health), Vera decides to challenge Tapu Fini instead
 - Though I'd assume that his retirement must've been some time ago, given that only the first three Kahunas lent their power during the Necrozma thing
- The group notice a Golurk picking Radishes, and Vera decides to make the mistake of getting close to the fields which results in Hapu getting pissed off and assumes that they're the radish thieves (Which makes sense, she knew that someone has been and Vera trespassed)
- Hapu comments on Vera's strat of using Quick Attack as a set up for Iron Tail, before pasting him with High Horsepower (and we know Ground-type moves are somewhat of a rarity to see in the series)
- Joy reveals that Hapu lived in the fields with her grandfather who was the Kahuna before the previous and taught her everything she knows
- Mallow enquires about the taste of Poni Radishes and after the boys find it spicy, Joy mentions that it is an acquired taste
- Vera heads to the see assuming that Tapu Fini resides there due to being a Water-type (idiot, it'd be near ruins), and finds the Team Skull trio stealing the Sensu style Oricorio with Hapu's radishes
- Just as Vera is about to begin a battle, Hapu arrives and takes matters into her own hands and defeats the trio on her own
- The Skull trio wanted the Oricorio for "Skull Paradise", but Plumeria dismisses it as nonsense and has them go back with her
 - even though Plumeria debuted in this episode, she only got 25 seconds of screentime, so she'll get proper representation later
- Hapu apologises to Vera and refuses his request for a rematch. On another note, I'm interested in seeing how they'll handle her Z-Move as that is a Groundinium-Z on her Z-Ring and I reckon it'll only be used in the Grand Trial fight (with Vera getting a different Z-crystal altogether)
- Not gonna lie, whilst I know that the new ending (at least it's completely new and not just changed lyrics) is sung by a primary school choir, I'm not a fan of it tbph
- In the post credits/JP-only scene, Lana claims to have fished up a shiny Relicanth, but the sketch she drew of it leaves no indication of whether it was shiny or not (classic Lana BS)

[spoiler=SM105]
- Whilst everyone is doing their own thing, Vera decides to go to Hapu's place for a battle and he encounters Nurse Joy who says that she might be at the ruins
- At the ruins, Hapu explains her wishes to become the next Kahuna, but gets no response from Tapu Fini
- Lillie is observing the wild pokemon which includes the first wild Granbull in the series, when Shiron runs off and encounters Gladion
- Gladion says that he also wants to battle Tapu Fini, but also mentions that Tapu Fini has the power to meet people who have died, in this case Mohn who died whilst researching Ultra Wormholes
- After knocking a Corsola branch from Mudsdale's foot, Hapu says that Mudsdale is in Vera's debt. He asks for a battle, but she refuses again. She then has a go at him after he mentions wanting to battle Tapu Fini to the point of having Mudsdale kick him far away
- Landing where Lillie and Gladion are (conveniently), Gladion suggests having a Lycanroc battle with Vera. Hapu sees Gladion's clothes and offers to fix them, Gladion rightfully refuses as fixing said clothes would remove some of his edgeness
- The battle was solid, as it provided development for Hapu who is learning about different battle styles than what her grandfather taught her
 - I also liked seeing the birds circling around Lycanroc's head when Outrage was finished
- As soon as Vera went for his Z-Move, I was like "Well, he's lost" as I knew Gladion was going to use his as well. Nevertheless, Gladion's withstood it and snapped out of confusion
- Gladion displays his Dragonium-Z (Which I'll assume he got from Totem Kommo-O, presumably after a rematch) and uses the Z-Move to win the fight. After which, Tapu Fini flies by.

On another note, Sunshine Ikezaki (comedian apparently) is to get a guest role as a Toucannon in a future episode (to which I assume will belong to Kahili).

EDIT:
[spoiler=Thoughts on SM106]
- At the poke centre, everyone lays down their plans (Mallow, working on a menu item. Kiawe, training. Lillie, observing), when Hapu arrives with radishes.
- Sophocoles chats about wanting to go to Vast Poni canyon as he's aware that it's easier for Charjabug to evolve. When Kiawe points out that Sophocoles isn't sure that he will, Hapu chimes in to confirm that it is the truth. (She then tags along with the boys out of intrigue)
- I'a arrives to meet Lana and reveals to her that her Brionne evolved to Primarina to surprise her. I'a says that she's going off with her friend Kanoa the following day and agrees to train Lana
- During their "training" (If you want to call it that), Primarina and Popplio blows balloons, sing and splash water at each other. It later transpires that they were simply playing
- As Pikachu beats a Hakamo-O and Turtonator beats a Boldore, Sophocoles reminds them that they're there for Charjabug. even Togedemaru kill steals when a Golduck turns up.
- A few moments later, the morons from SM041 (Charjabug race) turn up with the intention of evolving their Charjabug. Of course Vera chimes in asking who they were again. (I don't blame him as they were forgettable)
- Hayate says that he will be the first to evolve Charjabug by obtaining the "bug stone" *facedesk* and says that his father wasted a fuckton of money to obtain such BS information, reinforced when the boys say that they hadn't heard of the item. (Also, who sold the bloke this information, the Magikarp Salesman?  Kappa  )
- With Charjabug's help, Sophocoles is able to traverse the cave and even got a fuckton of exp for Charjabug when it pasted a bunch of Golbats
- I overlooked this initially, but when the camera focuses underwater, but a trio of Meltan are seen leaving the Mystery Box
- Outside, Hayate notices the useless item and runs across the bridge (despite warning from Sophocoles), which breaks putting his life in danger. Wondering what to do, Charjabug evolves into Vikavolt, rescues Hayate and retrieves the useless item.
- When the stone doesn't work, Sophocoles mentions the magnetic field that contributes to the evolution of Charjabug
- Hayate says that he's going to start over and train Charjabug so that it can evolve and leaves (Basically confirming that it will never evolve as they are heading away from the place where it evolves *facedesk*)
- That evening, the girls throw a farewell party for I'a (and celebrate Charjabug's evo) and as thanks I'a demonstrates Primarina's exclusive Z-Move Oceanic Operetta
- Lana goes off for off screen training and the following morning, shows the best that her and Popplio can do, where it evolves into Brionne (Kinda weak as it was essentially deus-ex). I'a gives Lana the Primarinium-Z (which confirms that Brionne will evolve at some point)
 - This episode's double evo makes it the first time where two main character's pokemon evolves where none of the pokemon belongs to Jessie.

also, new episode titles
Episode 1052: An Island Kahuna is Born! Ash's Grand Trial!! (February 17th)

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM107]
- As the group tuck into Mallow's cooking, she intends on sharing it with Hapu to see what she thinks of the Poni Radish dishes
- Kiawe declares that he wants to battle Tapu Fini (piggybacking on what Vera wishes to do then...) a his project is to overcome his current self, thus him and Vera look for it together
- Vera and Kiawe has a race to see who gets to battle Tapu Fini first, rushing in a somewhat comical manner, but as they reached the destination at the same time, they decide to have a battle
- Unfortunately the battle damages the ruins somewhat and when mist envelops the scene, Vera and all the pokemon are trapped by a pissed Tapu Fini
- An apparition of Hapu's grandfather tasks Kiawe with getting scales from Tapu Lele before the clock runs out if Vera is to avoid paying the price for commiting the grave sin of harming the ruins
- Meanwhile Mallow, Lilie and Sophocoles spend the day with Hapu who enjoys her cooking and teaches her a Poni inspired dish as well (Guess that's Mallow's project donion rings)
- Kiawe asks Tapu Lele for scales who responds with a battle. During which, he has a flashback of his grandfather teaching him to be one in body and spirit with Charizard and after it performs Aerial Ace, Tapu Lele provides the scales
- Back on Poni, Vera is freed and Hapu's grandfather tells him that Kiawe has abandoned him and will not return (Basically lying then)
- Kiawe lands on Poni, but the battle has taken its toll on Charizard and thus he has to finish the journey on foot, however he makes it in the nick of time and the scales heal Charizard
- Hapu's grandfather reveals that this was a trial set by Tapu Fini and Kiawe receives a Flynium-Z as a reward (wasn't expecting that. I was expecting Kahili to demo Supersonic Skystrike) as he is aware that Charizard can use Aerial Ace from knowing Kiawe's grandfather whose apparition was watching on as well.
- All in all, the main premise of the episode reminded me of the Biggoron Sword sidequest in which Kiawe had to do a fetchquest, but had a limited time to deliver the goods.

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM108]
- Kiawe shows the group his new Flynium-Z and chats with the group about what had happened, during which, Hapu talks about Tapu Fini having the ability to allow those to see those who have passed which causes Mallow to run off
- It is revealed that Mallow's mum caught the Bounsweet that Mallow started the series with and the last words that Mallow said was that she hated her
- Whilst helping Hapu with planting radishes, mist starts enveloping the area and Vera, Mallow, Lillie and Gladion are stuck in the mist (Though the Kalos League music from XY is misplaced)
- Vera and Torracat encounter the late Stoutland and during the encounter, Stoutland nudges an invisible TM38 onto Torracat forcing it to forget ember for Fire Blast
 - Of course the question remains as to why Vera was there in the first place. There was no indication that he wanted to make contact with his father, though it's for the best that he was there with the risk of losing Torracat
 - Also this makes it the first Fire-type Ash has owned to learn Fire Blast
- Mallow meets her mum and apologises for saying that she hated her, whilst the latter is thankful for Mallow and the family which causes the nearby Gracideas to bloom
- A frustrated Hapu goes to Tapu Fini and begs that it releases the four humans from its mist, even engaging in battle, but as the attack hits, Tapu Fini recognises her as the new Kahuna
- Mallow befriends a Shaymin and agrees to look after it until the next Gracidea season (At least it won't end as close a call as with the Shaymin Marley was looking after in DP168)
- Gladion and Lillie failed to make contact with Mohn whilst within the mist as it transpires that he is still alive and Gladion says that he'll inform Lusamine of this
- Hapu accepts Vera's Grand Trial challenge and says to Gladion that she'll battle him the next time he sets foot on Poni (sounds like a threat)

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM109]
- Hapu peforms a ritual to inaugurate herself as Kahuna. After which, she shows the place where the Grand Trial will take place saying that it'll be in the evening to coincide with the spring tide
- Until then, the group doss about at the coast (with Vera/Lana getting zapped by accident). Kiawe and Sophocoles discuss who Vera will use in the Grand Trial
- Kiawe refs the battle given his grandfather was a former Kahuna
- Vera sends in Pikachu for the match against Mudsdale (Not making thing easy for himself). As the battle commences, Pikachu's attacks don't do much as Stamina increases it defence and with its advantage, Mudsdale keeps up the pressure
- Unlike in the games when Mudsdale burrows its foe deep into the ground with Tectonic Rage, it attacks from below and sends Pikachu flying into the air
- When Mudsdale stopped Pikachu's Iron Tail with Double Kick, I was reminded of Diamond & Pearl when Paul's Elekid/ Electivire stopped Pikachu's Iron Tail using its arm and using the other to attack (The difference here is that Mudsdale used the same hooves to deal damage)
- Classic-Vera strat, utilising Electroweb to save Pikachu from certain injury
- Another classic-Vera strat, he decides to use the field to his advantage, by having Mudsdale get soaked and using electric attacks to defeat it... like in episode 5. (The main difference being that this was intentional, whereas in episode 5, the sprinklers was an accident)
- As a reward for winning, Hapu allows Vera to pick any Z-crystal he wants. He subcontracts the decision to Pikachu who picks out Steelium-Z, a smart decision given it can use said Z-Move (Though people are saying that Ash will get Meltan as a result, but given Pikachu picked it out, I don't think that'll be the case as why would it pick a crystal that A: Vera cannot use or B: for a pokemon he doesn't have yet)
 - The other feasible choice he could've made was Fightinium-Z for Torracat's Revenge
- The next day, Kukui arrives to take the group back to MeleMele and the group report back the results of their projects, and before they leave, Hapu gives them some radishes
- As the episode ends, a group of Meltan are seen with some consumed metal in the storage.

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM110]
- Kahili sneaks back to Alola following a losing streak (Well even pros have their off days) and her Toucannon certainly helped get the press off her back
 - Despite the slump, she still has game after hitting a wayward baseball
- Now Poke-Golf has become the new hip thing in Alola, and with Kahili around, of course the class wanted to have a go and thanks to Toucannon, Kahili agreed to do so
- Just as the group are about to begin, a bloke resembling the blokes from SM033 and SM060 (If they aren't twins, they've got to be one guy) shows up and spouts utter nonsense throughout the episode, and Toucannon was right to shut the prick up
- It was nice seeing how each of the cast tackled the holes (Vera and Mallow taking things normally, showing understandable excitement, Kiawe initially getting too fired up, Sophocoles using tech with Togedemaru doing the putting, Lillie getting flustered and then overcoming the challenge, Lana displaying skill)
- After the first 9 holes, Liar McLiarface shows them to "demonic hole 10" which tried too hard to be a crazy golf hole, but its concept got it sent to a mental hospital. Nevertheless he fails the hole to the surprise of no one
- With the help of Toucannon (and a cool looking Beak Blast), Kahili was able to make the putt
- Kahili wins the next tournament she enters and gives a shoutout to the Pokemon School who made her remember how she felt when she first started out
- I will say, given who portrayed Toucannon, Toucannon was an enjoyable character to watch

They look like they came straight out of Robot Chicken that's for sure.

I agree, they do look like they came out of Robot Chicken.

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM111]

- After getting scared by an A-Rattata of all things, the Meltan group are split in two, with one half following James and Meowth, eating the gear the two just bought. The other half getting zapped by a Magneton

- Meanwhile, the class are learning how to build electric appliances (Ah, essential life skills)

- It was nice to see more of Clefable's personality, cleaning the Ultra Guardian's base. Though the Meltan that showed up, as mischievous as they were, did not deserve that treatment

- When asked to fetch a bolt, Lillie picks up a Meltan, and when everyone touches its lower body, it fires a Flash Cannon, broadcasting that it's a pokemon

- At least Pikachu's new move protected Eevee from the 10-fold Flash Cannon that came from the Meltan it annoyed

- At the base, James and Meowth discover that all the parts they bought have been eaten, as well as one of their weapons which leads into a search for the culprit

- One of James' bottle caps has the OLM logo (That's neat for what it's worth). Though it's funny, it's been quite some time since the bottle cap collection was brought up, and when it does so, they get eaten

- I suppose if their machinery is melted, it'll be difficult for HQ to contact them

- A stray Meltan relaxes next to Rowlet, and after Rowlet rescues the nut that fell from it before a Murkrow steals it, the two bond and it stows away in Vera's bag

- Jessie displays some business acumen by suggesting they can make a killing if they sell the Meltan as a new species

- Mimikyu displaying its usual "If it's not Pikachu, I ain't bloody interested" attitude to battling

- Of course Bewear would block the Flash Cannon, scare the Meltan off and carry TR back to base. Also, how dare Stufful spank Meowth's arse

- Vera contacts Oak and gives him data on the new species for analysis.

There's also information that shows that March 17th's episode will be Magikarp focused, March 24th's will feature Pheromosa and March 31st will feature the debut of Guzma and his Golisopod.

And Savage Spin-Out But what about uh... Never mind, I also thought Plumeria.

Also, will the dub skip over the Hapu saga completely. I mean, according to this:

Japan has banned the usage of moves like Earthquake and Fissure, so we'll never in a million years see Tectonic Rage in the anime.

I speculated that Guzma will use Savage Spin-Out given his collection of Buginium-Zs, though whether it happens or not is up in the air.

Well we've known for years that moves like Earthquake have been banned since the 2004 quake, though unless there's a quake near the US in the next few months, the Hapu battle will make it overseas, and her Z-move was used in that episode (it may get cut in the English version, dunno yet).

It wasn't a problem before. Maybe pokemon episodes should have disclaimers before any offensive episodes.

I feel like I heard a "disclaimer" suggestion some time before.

Also, think there'll be a trainer from the Galar region coming to Alola?

Then how will Ash and his Alola friends know about Galar?

The Alolan cast don't need to know about Galar. Oak can just tell Vera about it at Pallet Town

Also, for the Pokemon Mewtwo Evolved movie will Sarah Natochenny say "I hear they live in Minnesota".

I very much doubt it imo (as in NO). It was a cheesy joke that 4Kids added in anyway, and TPCi might not mention Vikings ala the original Japanese version.

Well, Ash will need a local about Galar, and I think Lillie would be a good traveling companion for Galar. Maybe Brock or Misty.

As for the Viking thing, how would Ash, Misty and Brock get to Mew Island? We know boat, and we know Team Rocket, disguised, took them to Mew Island, but... that's about it.
