Fair enough.

Okay, two things:

1. Ever thought of this for an anime episode: For a lecture on Fire-types, Ash has Professor Kukui bring in 4 fire-type experts from across the world: Blaine from Cinnabar Island (In his original anime design), Flannery from Lavaridge Town (With Lisa Ortiz reprising this role), Flint from Sinnoh and Chili from Striaton City. Ash tells them about how he battled them  and they in turn tell Ash and the class about what they've been up to since then. They then conduct a double battle with Blaine and Flint vs. Kiawe and Flannery. Unfortunately Flannery was in such a rush she forgot she left Mag, Meg and Torkoal at her Gym, so Ash calls Professor Oak and has him transfer his Torkoal for Flannery to use. Blaine's Magmar and Flint's Infernape vs. Kiawe's Turtonator and Flannery's (Ash's) Torkoal. Who will win?

2. More serious, the only things yet to appear in the anime are Kartana and the Ultra-Recon Squad. With Guzma coming up, Team Skull may now be a bigger threat than before.

That sounds like a fanfic idea considering the hassle involved.

If anything, Guzma might not appear often (I heard murmurs about guest appearance or something) and Team Skull were on the whole pretty pathetic in the games (in terms of threat level).

EDIT (Monday):

qmDRyZ5.png

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM115]

- The episode starts off with Vera practicing Corkscrew Crash with Pikachu against some wooden boards. After which Samson Oak tells the class that Kukui is making an announcement at Aether

- Kukui announces the Alola Pokemon League with the approval of the Kahunas and Lusamine and the stadium being on an island near Aether. The Kahunas note that Kukui is reviving the abandoned custom of having trainers who beat the Island Pilgrimage battle on the summit of Mt Lanakila for the title of champion

- Kukui almost slips into his Masked Royal persona, but picks himself up without raising suspicion

- The entire class decides to participate. Heck even Team Rocket decide to do so as well (I can now imagine Jessie losing to Ash R1, then it'd be like Nando in DP who did well in the Grand Festival but dogshit at the league)

- I liked that one Skull guy (Akitoshi I think his name was) who said "Let's get high"

- At Po Town's shady house, the answer to the piss easy question arrives after years of wandering with red sharpie on his face and arms and Blue, Pinky and Zip inform him that a league is being established. Guzma says that he'll destroy the league (He objected to it in the games as well)

- Vera wonders if the Masked Royal will participate with Kukui saying that he can't say if he will or not. (The opening implies he will though)

- The Team Rocket/Team Skull rap battle (with TR rapping their original motto) was amusing, as was the off-screen destruction TR got from Bohman (Guzma) who used it as a warm up for Playmaker (Kukui)

- Team Skull arrive at the school with Guzma wanting to battle Kukui, though Vera wants to battle instead.

- Rotom says that Golisopod is weak to Electric moves and of course Vera begins with using Iron Tail (classic Vera), though it isn't as bad a strat with its other effect

- After Golisopod shook off the Z-Move (prematurely used imo), the BG music changes to the Kalos E4 theme (why?!) and Guzma takes control of the match

- Eventually Golisopod decides to bugger off back into its pokeball with Guzma saying that it lost interest in battling a weakling (We all know he's using that as an excuse for Emergency Exit), saying that he has no interest in battles where the outcome is obvious

- Kiawe plucks a Pecha Berry out of thin air and Plumeria suggests Vera join Team Skull, of course he refuses

- Kukui asks if Guzma is going to run away like he did with the Island Pilgrimage, but Guzma leaves anyway

- At the Shady House, Plumeria is browsing her Instagram saying that Guzma is making destruction plans in his room (basically punching the wall)

The new episode will probably feature the return of Team Aqua in their ORAS designs.

I very much doubt that. The hunter in the synopsis is 99.9% likely to be a CotD.

Okay, just saying it would be an opportunity to mark Team Aqua's return with their OrAs designs. And it would be the main series debut of Matt, plus they could reference Matt's old design with new Matt tearing it to pieces and dumbfound Team Aqua with more of Lana's trolling, like Lana could say she caught Palkia.

Just saying.

On another note, like with the Silver Conference in Season 5, and Alexa in the final stretch of BW, there could be a character from Galar participating in the Alola League. That could inspire Ash to go to the Galar Region.

The organisation was pretty much donion rings after AG, so imo it wouldn't make sense from a story-telling standpoint to have some rogue guy saying he's part of Team Aqua. Also given that ORAS is getting on for 5 years old, it doesn't need promoting.

Maybe, though it's also possible that he finds out about Galar in the first episode of SwSh (like with Best Wishes where Ash found out about Unova in BW001).

Also here's my interpretation of Team Rocket's new motto for Pokemen SwSh:

Jessie: Prepare for Trouble in the new generation

James: Make it Double we're the next sensation.

Jessie: Raising the golden shield of the red ruby of destruction and the pearl of the white sun, Jessie.

James: Striking with the silver sword of the blue sapphire of life and the diamond of the black moon, James.

Meowth: And thrusting the crystal platinum spear of the green emerald of order, it's Meowth

Jessie, James and Meowth: That's us, We're Team Rocket!

Okay, next topic, more SwSh anime. Think the Officer Oh, I mean Constable Jenny's will dress like this?

180px-TMNT2003_Cartoon_ConstableBiggles.

Probs not. If anything they’ll likely look like traditional female UK rozzas, but that’s a matter that is months away.

Back on the topic of SM:

I suspect Hayate will either mention that he went back to Poni to evolve his Charjabug or evolved it elsewhere. (which is where I’m leaning).

Speaking of Poni Island, that arc's coming up in the dub, and the forums gave us a preview of Hapu's English Voice. But one thing I am worried about is the Z-move involved in Ash's Grand Trial, Tectonic Rage. I mean, Japan gets the short end of the stick with natural disasters. This is a plot important episode as it's Ash's Grand Trial against Hapu. With Earthquake and Fissure no longer part of the anime move roster, how can Tectonic Rage work? Oh wait, Mudsdale knows High Horsepower so that can be used for Tectonic Rage, still, giant fissure and earthquake, that's gonna stir up a lot of bad memories for the people of Japan.

It was fine when the episode aired in Japan as the Z-move usage was a one time thing, so there isn’t much point in worrying about it now.

Meanwhile

Thanks SM120 preview for spoiling the evolution of Lana’s Brionne.
Also thanks SM119’s piss easy question for ruining the suspense of the episode’s event. At least the receiving of the Z-ring wasn’t spoiled, instead it was implied.

[spoiler=SM120 thoughts (aka How to save yourself 25 minutes)]

Thanks to last week’s episode there wasn’t much point in watching this week’s episode as the important sheet was spoiled already.

That aside I still watched it, and those hunters (or should I say discount TR with their mech and blast off) were tame compared to the late Hunter J.

[spoiler SM121]

Since Brit's not here for this I'll give a small point

Mallow had been coerced into helping out at Oranguru's Cafe, but it was worth it. Tapu Koko was there and after a satisfactory dinner it gave Mallow a tip: A Grassium Z. And Mallow's efforts to keep the customers happy didn't go unrewarded as Oraguru gave her some mushrooms as payment and a bonus, A Z-Ring, which Olivia fashioned up for Mallow to use Bloom Doom. Now everyone has a Z-Ring and signature Z-Crystal.

Oranguru gave her some mushrooms as payment

[spoiler=response]

That was what she intended to go there for as her dad was out of them, it wasn’t payment for her work as she wasn’t expecting the customers to draw the focus away from Oranguru giving her the mushrooms in the first place.

Also she wasn’t coerced into helping out (Oranguru isn’t the forceful or threatening type), she offered to help out, the only thing Oranguru insisted on her doing was making something for Tapu Koko as a trial.

qmDRyZ5.png

[spoiler=SM121 thoughts]

From the piss easy question at the top of the episode, I figured Mallow would get the Grassium Z (Would rather have been surprised by that). As for the episode itself.

Mallow went to Oranguru’s to get some Big Mushrooms for her dad, but later found that wasn’t going to be simple when a buttload of customers came, prompting Mallow to help out and use her culinary knowledge to satisfy their needs. When Tapu Koko came, Oranguru insisted Mallow make something (in the form of a trial), so she made a dish using the Poni Radish she brought with her and Tapu Koko was impressed enough with the fish to give her a Grassium Z, essentially passing Oranguru’s trial, who then gave her a Z-ring to use that crystal and the mushrooms she asked for originally. At least Olivia was around to fix the Z-ring.

Although Mallow getting Grassium Z is the first type overlap with Vera (who already had it), so him getting a Firium Z or Incinium Z isn’t farfetched now.

And of course we’d have the same insert song two episodes in a row (Not the first time I moaned about that). The other thing is that Tsareena and Shaymin did absolutely nothing in this episode, they were just... there.

Almost forgot, new episode title.

Episode 1068: Ash! A Timeless Encounter! (June 9th)

Another time travel episode with Celebi, this time involving Vera and Torracat

EDIT (Sunday):

qmDRyZ5.png

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM122]

Apart from Matori getting scared by Bewear, the episode was basically filler.

Though it does add to the relatively small tally of successful TR blast offs, albeit unintentionally.

Despite that of course, it's not going to stop her from doing her job, as evidenced at the end of the episode where she asked for a regular update. (Only for the transmission to be cut off)

*doesn't view spoiler* Somebody viewed episode pics didn't they, but (EDIT): more than just that happened.

As for me, I'm not posting my thoughts till I've watched the episode (not up yet), but what I do know is next week's episode is either gonna be good or mediocre considering it's an Ultra Beast episode.

EDIT: now that I've watched the episode

qmDRyZ5.png

[spoiler=Thoughts on SM123]

At the top of the episode, Lana's Primarina learned Sparkling Aria off-screen, as does Sophocoles' Vikavolt learning Signal Beam (Beacon Beam is better  Kappa  ). Lana succeeds in performing the Z-Move that triggers copyright strikes on YT, whereas Sophocoles fails.

After a failed day's training, Kiawe tells the story of how he met Turtonator who got into a fight with the answer to the piss easy question (who hasn't appeared since DP138, almost 10 years ago), and Kiawe secretly arranges for said pokemon to battle Sophocoles so that he can master Savage Spin Out.

Meanwhile the girls spent most of their screentime having afternoon tea.
