so yeah its kinda not that completely original to mine... this is result of a nice challenge on this thread (http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/322064-create-a-card-game/)

the theme at the time is a Generic card that simulate Petrification curse... its kinda crazy-snowballed from there.

As a generic monster, this card immediately holds merit. Further, its ability to set monsters without targeting, extremely useful against boss monsters that cannot be targeted, in spite of its apparent slowness while alone, definitely threatens decks including Kozmo and Monarch, which have certainly fallen from their previous prowess but still serve to be powerful to some extent. It also has merit given its Pendulum Scale of 2, which lets it fit into a Rank 4 Pendulum Deck, like Dracoslayer Performapals, very easily. All in all, this card is not obscenely broken on paper, although it has several qualities that set it apart from other Xyz Monsters that make it threatening to certain powerful strategies.

Okay, I think I've got this.

Love the Gorgon-like reference in this card-was drawn to the Reptiliannes for pretty much the same purpose, since I'm a sucker for Greek mythology.

Anyways, it's rare to see a card where the Material base is a sideline to its own built-in abilities, instead of fuel (e.g. Tiras, Keeper of Genesis.)  That being said, this thing would be a Subterror Deck's dream: Floodgate Trap Holes any Effect Monster it battles, destroys any Set monster it attacks, and can help your Pendulum Scales if destroyed (which of course, is a bit of a hard thing to do, but, it works both ways, so if it runs out, just Zodiac Triangle or Metalfoes it into the Pend Zone for a new card!)

And it's a DARK Reptile too, so Phantom Knights Rank-Up Launch has a new target!

I would get hung up on the whole OCG fixes, but instead of putting it in some blocky quote box, for this amazing card, I'm willing to give you both that and another gift of yours truly, BDS (drink it in, maaaaaaaaaaaan) by showing you the potential fixes on a live render of the card myself-complete with a nice pic you can ask me for ANYTIME.

...but just in case you want the hard fixes on the text (or its too small):

2 Level 4 monsters

If you can Pendulum Summon Level 4, you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card in your Extra Deck. Before damage calculation (in either player's turn, if this card battles a face-up Effect Monster while it has Xyz Materials: You can change that monster to face-down Defense Position, and if you do, it cannot change its battle position. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card attacks a face-down Defense Position monster: You can destroy that monster. During the End Phase, if this card battled a face-up monster with a higher Level/Rank than this card: Detach 1 Xyz Material on this card. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

Great card, BTW-want one for my hall. No eye contact, though.

I liked this take on the name I dropped in that game thread, but upon reading it a couple of times, it started to find it weak, mainly because what it does is practically discouraging the opponent from attacking it at all or Setting any monsters, rendering the rest of its effects almost pointless. And having 0 ATK means you won't want to attack with this card to force opponent's monster to Defense Position, unless you are willing to take the battle damage. Also want to point out that even after applying it's Set effect, the attacked monster will be flipped face-up back during damage calculation, so all the effect accomplished is locking the monster into Defense Position, which is fine but not as good as leaving it face-down, especially considering the damage you will take.

IMO this card at the very least deserves a softening to any battle damage you would take from it, I mean a "Any battle damage you take involving this card is halved" effect; and you may want to fix that issue of the effect not being able to keep a monster face-down when this card is the one attacking.

Hmm... then again, it is a Pendulum Xyz after all, which means it can return through Pendulum Summons as a 2800-DEF wall, which is high enough. Plus, as mentioned above, the scale of 2, relatively easy to access as the 2-material generic Rank4 monster that it is, should come in handy; so maybe it's a good call to not improve its current effects. To be honest, I'm not sure anymore, but I will leave the above suggestions for your consideration.

By the way, I found interesting how despite the name having "Stone Curse" you didn't make the monster neither EARTH nor Rock; it is such an intriguing decision.

You actually found an artwork fitting for this card, I'm impressed.

May I ask for your sources for YGO artworks? xD

update the wording in accordance to most of suggestion

to be honest, its been so long (kinda) after i made this that i'm starting to forget the details of crazy brainstorming i being through... but Reptilianne and Gorgonics is two of those inspiration being gorgon, medusa and all... i do still care for it being EARTH or Rock  but i don't want just blatantly make it...there where the pendulum element of this card comes. by being pendulum it not screw much of most graveyard based strategy that interact with typing like most EARTH or Rock support.
