"No matter the strife you bear, there is always a bit of light awaiting to be shed upon the world."
Name: Kazuki Asakura (Lit. 麻倉 和希, Asakura Kazuki)
Weight: 150 lbs
Kazuki is defined by his raven black hair, his sky blue eyes, and slightly tanned skin. The short cut hair that Kazuki has is usually not kept in a tidy manner, but more often than not ends up falling into place without him needing to fix it at all. If asked if he'd wear a hat to sort of fix the problem of his hair, Kazuki only says that hats really aren't his thing. Clothing wise, Kazuki tends to wear a track suit, usually having his jacket unzipped showing off a white colored t-shirt, with a pair of black and blue sneakers on his feet. One would also notice that he tends to wear some bandage wraps around his hands, which are a common thing when people see Kazuki.
A calm and serene atmosphere surrounds Konohana, the inner world of Kazuki. And much like his inner world, Kazuki does what he can to be as calm and collective as possible in whatever situation or challenge he's faced with. He's a warmhearted individual who is always eager to help out those in need in anyway they possibly can.
While he is a harmless individual, not exactly resorting to violence, it doesn't mean anyone should take Kazuki lightly. If he, his friends, his inner world, or even the caretaker/guardian of his world is threatened in anyway, he will go on the offensive and strike at those who wish to do any of them harm. However, in the area regarding Konohana's caretaker and guardian, Sakuya, Kazuki feels extra protective over her. This could be due to his unconfessed affection towards Emi and that Sakuya looks the same as his late friend, that he just doesn't want to end up losing her all over again. Or...could it be that his feelings for Emi has carried over towards Sakuya? Unfortunately, the answer to this is yet to be seen. In regards to the unconfessed affection, Kazuki also seems to be very adamant about those who are afraid of confessing something like this to the one they love to just do it, because who knows how long anyone has.
Thanks to the kindness and light that his friend Emi gave to him and the promise he made to her, Kazuki does everything in his power to help those who are seeming to be crying out for help, even if they don't say anything. His thoughts are that if the smiles and the kindness of one person could touch his heart and soul in such a way, then it should be the same with everyone. What if everyone had this experience of light that he was shown by his friend? This would almost bring forth an era of peace...a new Heian period, one could call it. Kazuki truly believes that if he can show people the way to let this light into their own worlds, the real world would change drastically and it would be something beautiful to see.
"This world...until I met her, this was a different world altogether."
Kazuki was born in New York, both his parents from Japan, making him by birth American. His father a construction worker and his mother a teacher, and even though it was difficult, they did what they could to keep the family as closely knit as possible. For Kazuki, this was a great life and he enjoyed every moment of it. And at age four, Kazuki found out about a strange ability he had...although at the time he kept referring to them as simply dreams. This was the start of the development of his power to entering someone's inner world. It originally started with his mother, every time he fell asleep in her arms, he would find himself in a beautiful landscape of an island surrounded by a beautiful ocean and a huge Japanese palace in the center of the island. He and those there would play as much as they wanted, until he woke up that was. It didn't stop there, however. The same happened with his father, though it seemed like a nightmare. Where his mother's inner world was beautiful and serene, Kazuki's father had one that was gloomy, dark, and almost depressing. Shadows shifting everywhere he looked and for a four year old child, it was the stuff of nightmares. It wasn't until later that he knew why...
In a sense, Kazuki's father had his world slowly tainted by another. He had an affair and the next year, he got a divorce, leaving Kazuki and his mother alone. This drove his mother to act differently and whenever he visited her inner world, Kazuki found that it was always raining now...due to her constant sadness. This is when Kazuki began to enter his own Inner World through his dreams, however, his own world was like that of an empty, barren canvas. Of course he was always able to find something to do, whether it was running around or playing pretend, but the truth was always the same...he felt alone. He felt like this for a while until school finally began for him. That's when things changed for the young Kazuki.
On the first of school for him, Kazuki was desperate to make a friend, but for the life of him...he just couldn't. However, fate had its hand played when he and a young girl named Emily, though went by Emi, came up to him and befriended him. For some reason, being around Emi always brought a smile to his face and it continued throughout his life as the two grew up. Though while his inner world was still a blank canvas, he at least had a friend. But for Kazuki, his world's development would begin when he hit middle school, where he did a research paper about his homeland.
The assignment was to research your own home town or country, a tracing back of your ancestry sort of assignment. Of course, Kazuki traced his back to the land of the rising sun and after the assignment, his inner world was no longer a blank canvas, rather it became a valley with a small Japanese town. However, there wasn't any color to it at that moment, but at this moment Kazuki couldn't be bothered with that. Upon the discovery of his new inner world, he found out he could go into others. That's when Kazuki wanted to test this out on Emi, who was told all this by Kazuki and thought he was joking. As he touched her hand, Kazuki found himself in Emi's own inner world which was littered with beautiful cherry blossom flowers that came from the only thing here in this inner world...a huge cherry blossom tree. Kazuki returned to the real world and handed her one of the flower petals, as a sign of his trip. From that day on, Emi believed what Kazuki and both ended up visiting one another in their Inner World.
That was until Kazuki found out the truth about Emi. On their summer vacation, Kazuki found out Emi was in the hospital, very sick. When he got there, he found she was diagnosed with a terrible case of cancer which was supposed to take her when she was very young. Kazuki was heartbroken and talked to Emi, asking why she didn't tell him. Though Emi's response was simply that she didn't want to see Kazuki's smile or his world be thrown into sadness. She also told him that she wanted him, to no matter what, always be smiling and to try to see the good in people, only handing him the one cherry blossom petal that he gave her. Kazuki took it and promised this to her. And that next morning...she passed away.
Kazuki only returned to his own inner world, holding the petal in his hand. He needed solace from this heartbreaking loss. But in the end, because of this flower petal, his inner world began to evolve once more, erupting with a numerous amounts of cherry blossom trees, making the world beautiful as if Emi was standing right here with him. Though this brought something new to Kazuki as well...this transformation of the world awoke within it a guardian...a caretaker. And to his surprise, this caretaker of the world looked just like Emi. This was the day he officially met Sakuya. To this, he could only muster out tears, seeing that now Emi's little world found its way to merge with his...making it beautiful.
As the years went on, Kazuki developed into a man who can't help but smile. Along with this, he does what he can to try and see the good in people, mostly by traveling into their inner worlds and doing what he can to make the world a better place. All because of one encounter with a friend, Kazuki found out about the world in general and does what he can to spread the happiness he found with everyone.
Inner World Travel: Kazuki is able to transfer himself into the inner world of any person via physical contact and leave at his leisure. Of course, this also comes with the given time limit of entering an inner world every six hours and must remain there for five minutes before he can leave there. This also means when he exits an inner world, his position when he exits the world will parallel and relate to him in the real world.
Expert Martial Artist: Kazuki is proficient in taijutsu (namely jujitsu and kenpo), namely using them as a means of self-defense, but at the same time a way to keep his body in shape and physically fit.
More to come...
Kazuki's inner world, Konohana, adheres to a time that has been long since passed in Japanese culture: Heian (peace) period as well as the late Heian period, in which the samurai warriors began to rise. However, here, there is no need for there to be any samurai to defend this land from harm. Because of this, there are many human denizens that reside in the villages of this land, where they flourish. Animal creatures that call their home within Konohana consist of various creatures, from the koi fish that live within the streams, to the sika deer that feast upon the grassy plains, to even the swallows that fly overhead. As for the plant life, Konohana is quite flourished with plants which include the greenest of pastures and even the most beautiful flowers, which includes the bountiful cherry blossom trees that surround the land.
The atmosphere of Konohana feels like that of the spring season, it isn't cold as the harsh winters nor is it as blazing as the hottest summers, but just right. The breeze felt here is the coolest and with it, there can always be cherry blossoms seen floating on by through the wind. When the sun sets over the land, the moon is always out in full, shining its pale light down upon the land. The beautiful combination of this along with the many small hitodama that are almost always dancing under the moonlight make for a beautiful sight, and one that lights up the entire night.
However, one person alone can take care of this inner world and Kazuki knew this all to well. Fortunately for him, the inner workings of his world provided him a beautiful woman by the name of Sakuya, who acts as both caretaker and guardian of Kazuki's inner world. She resides within the place that has been commonly referred to as the Konohana Shrine, located upon a small ridge overlooking the town within this valley. Inside the walls of the Konohana Shrine lays the secret passageway to Konohana's core, a well kept scroll that has been sealed tightly. If one were to unseal it and unravel it, the scroll would depict a beautiful calligraphy art that showed Earth in an constant state of moving, however this depiction is always in a state of peace and was as flourishing as the day of its conception.
Gaining entrance into Konohana means upon entering, a person will find themselves walking through a torii gate, as if it was speaking to the newcomer into Kazuki's soul that they were to make a transition from the profane to the sacred, just as the normal torii gates would signify.
"There is a saying, Kazuki-san...minu ga hana. Please keep this in mind..."
Age: Appears 20
Weight: 207 lbs
Sakuya is defined by her silverish black hair and her golden amber eyes, which compliment her fair skin tone and the light pink shine of her lips. Her long hair is beautifully accompanied by a number of green, red, and blue flowers which do accentuate the beautiful eastern attire she wears.
Speaking of the attire Sakuya wears, the outfit is colored in reds, greens, blues, and even golds, with her clothes having the designs of both hearts (specifically on the dress tails) and various Japanese flowers printed along her skirt. Along with this beautiful outfit, she wears an assortment of flower based jewelry, more prominently noticed around her ears, neck, and hands. It's also fair to note that Sakuya carries with her a sheathed blade, its sheath encrusted with gold to match the black.
Beautiful and frail, such like a cherry blossom... All except for frail (to an extent) personifies Sakuya. While beautiful in every way possible, she is no damsel and isn't afraid for anyone to know that she can hold her own against whatever comes against her.
She holds the position of guardian and caretaker of Konohana and takes it very seriously. And while she seems to favor the style of being a shrine maiden (even living in the Konohana Shrine), it doesn't technically mean she is one that deals with the daily life and duties of a shrine maiden. Where the daily life of a shrine maiden would come into play, she does tend to favor using a sword rather than the traditional bow. This is the only difference that Kazuki has noted and mentioned to Sakuya about her style as a shrine maiden in this regards, but neither one truly mind it.
Sakuya, at the root of herself, is a kindhearted soul that wishes nothing more than to please whoever she's helping. But more than anything, she enjoys the company of Kazuki whenever hes around, always loving a smile on his face.
Before her awakening into the newly evolved Konohana by Kazuki bringing the cherry blossom from Emi's inner world, not much is known about Sakuya's past within this world.
However, Sakuya's role as both guardian and caretaker of Kazuki's inner world was already the title given to her even before Kazuki planned or thought about asking her to be.
Master Swordsman: Sakuya is quite proficient in the ways of the sword, being able to defend herself with ease.

- Kazuki's name can be translated into the following: Kazuki - A Japanese name that is translated into "Harmony, Hope", Asakura - A Japanese name that is translated into "Morning Storehouse". It is also the name of a Japanese clan that opposed Oda Nobunaga in the late 16th Century.
- Kazuki's inner world and caretaker/guardian are both nods at the Shinto kami: Konohanasakuya-hime. While the name of the inner world happens to be Konohana and deals in a world with bountiful cherry blossoms, the caretaker/guardian of the world, Sakuya, is specifically based on the goddess herself.
- Sakuya's character quote deals with a Japanese proverb which has the meaning of: "reality can't compete with imagination".
Surprise, surprise! A new challenger has approached...and guess what this means, its a brand spanking new character from yours truly! Now please note, for direction on these characters in the New Challenger group, I've been asking my good amigo Yui to give me points in the direction for certain characters...and this one...well...this one is a point straight from his own idea of the Inner Worlds.
As for a full analysis on Kazuki's character as a whole? Well...can't necessarily do that until he gains the spotlight in an RP, am I wrong? ;D
