[spoiler=Block Launcher: Info]

Field Spell Card

Lore: Switch the ATK and DEF of all Rock-Type monsters you control. Once per turn, when you Normal or Special Summon an EARTH monster in Attack Position: You can activate 1 of these effects, If you Normal or Special Summoned a "Block" monster at activation, you can activate both of these effects and resolve in sequence.
• Change its battle position, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Rock-Type monster that is either banished or in your hand with the same Level as that  monster.
• Change the battle position of 1 monster your opponent controls with ATK equal to or less than its ATK. Monsters whose battle positions are changed by this effect cannot change their battle positions.

(insert Voltron, Super Sentai and every giant mech pun known to man here.) See now, you don't have to do it now, thx plz.

(also, let the reviews and revelry arrive in abundance.)

BDS, signing off.

WITH THIS, the theme that inspired my snappy subheader.

i mean Cyber Repair Plant exist...so would it be more correct if it goes like this:

Switch the ATK and DEF of all Rock-Type monsters you control. Once per turn, when you Normal Summon a Rock-Type monster: You can activate 1 of these effects, If you Normal Summon "Block" Rock-Type monster at activation, you can activate 2 of these effect effects and resolve in sequence.

• Change its battle position, then Special Summon 1 Rock-Type monster that is either banished or in your hand with the same Level as that  monster.
• It gains ATK equal to half of its original ATK, until the end of the next turn.
• Destroy it and 1 card your opponent controls during the next End Phase.

the stat switch is kinda nice to have since logically speaking most Rocks has higher DEF than attack. the 1st bullet effect is nice for swarm the field presence you need, 2nd option actually interesting since its also mitigate certain Rock monster with surprisingly low DEF like Rock Stun Bulit, lastly the 3rd effect is kinda slow albeit its a non-targeting destruction on opponent End Phase most of the time...that its. unless im forgetting some others, it only trigger Block Dragon search effect no?

I kinda wish the effect also triggered when Special Summoning "Block" Rock monsters, because of "Block Dragon".

Anyway, to be honest the card feels average good to me: stat switching is sweet as it makes those high-DEF Normal Summonable Rocks into beaters; the first optional effect is great, assisting with putting monsters on the board; the battle protection feels weak with all the effect removal around, plus only working on Normal Summoned monstear means it will rarely protect a big beater that is actually worth of protecting from battle; the last effect is handy to remove threats in a pinch, but as Jolly pointed out, it's slow and only Block Dragon would take advantage of being destroyed. Then, keep in mind that as a Field, it conflicts with Catapult Zone, which is among the better Rock support cards out there, but I don't suggest to turn this into a Continuous Spell, as it would lose searchability through Terraforming.

I would play this mainly for it the stat swap and the first bullet effect, really. If only Catapult Zone was a Continuous Spell, we would have the best of both fields worlds.

Actually, between you and Jolly Glot, you make some valid points on this card's effect redundancy. Besides, EARTH's all about punishing monsters now. Changed the 2nd and 3rd effects of Block Fortress to match better with the Block Monsters.

Oh, my mistake, I thought the previous poster was someone else haha; I was misled by the avatar's colors ^^"

Anyway, now that the effect works on the Special Summon of any EARTH it should be much more potent now. You could even Summon Black Dragon and Special Summon a banished, let's say, 2nd copy Block Dragon or Gaia Plate, and go for a Rank8 right there; sweet stuff. And that defense-position changing effect does feel more in theme with Rock Stun and should be more handy than the previous 2 bullet effects.

However, I'm not fully convinced by this card working on any EARTH, since it makes this card an option in non-Rock decks for its second bullet effect, and that may go against its intended flavor. IMO it should be better if it goes back to working on Rocks only. Besides, there are a few non-EARTH Rocks which surely would appreciate the support of this card.

Nice. A Field Spell that turns walls into beatsticks. As of now there's only three monsters that would benefit from this card:

Blockman

Block Golem

Block Dragon

What I like about it is that you have the option to either Special Summon or a simple non-targeting battle position change, allowing you run over big bodies much easier. Though, with the Levels they have, can only Summon Levels 3, 4, and 8. So you either Summon copies of them, Koa'ki Meiru Level 4 Rock-Type monsters, or Gaia Plate. But even so, I don't think it'd be worth running Blockman just to use this with those Koa'ki Meiru. Or perhaps it could be to bring out more copies of Block Golem; you just need to be patient and use your other Rock-Types to attack your opponent in the meantime. Do you have any build in mind with this card? Because as is, the number of monsters you could Summon with this are few (copies, Gaia Plate).

Actually, this card supports Block monsters in particular and Rock-Type monster. Didn't really have much of another option I felt was necessary.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think you've got an incredibly cool Deck concept on your hands. Keep at it  :7627_key:

I know you're technically still new, but please note that Custom Cards has something called the Advanced Clause, which does require that you explain your thought process a bit. If you think it's a nice concept, then point out specifics. (You can still compliment them though, but just elaborate on it)
