Name: Quinn Alistair

Age: 25

Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]

Height: 5ft 11in

Weight: 177 lbs

[spoiler=Sigil]

Quinn's sigil resembles that of Lugia's back scales lain flat against it's body.  They run down all of Quinn's back.

[spoiler=Personality]

Quinn is, for the most part, a very go with the flow kind of guy.  He loves to relax and is hard to get going if he needs to do something.  Usually, it'll take hours for Quinn to realize that he has forgotten to do something important, and is very absent minded.  He could usually be found near a source of water, with a fishing rod cast out and bobbing on the waves.  Speaking of water, Quinn has always had a fondness for the open ocean!  That's why his team mainly consists of Water Types...just friends he bumped into along the way of his journeys.

Not a lot can get under Quinn's skin...its not that it's thick, more so that it's gelatinous in nature.  Insults and the like are pretty much just osmosis to him, passing through his body without even the slightest implication of annoyance.  That being said, Quinn likes to make friends with everybody, even those he tends to annoy with his laze around habits.  The only thing that Quinn likes to do other than relaxing or fishing is training with his partners.

However, if there was one thing that certainly gets under Quinn's skin more than anything else in the worlds, it's filth.  Being dirty, pollution, mud...all of that gross stuff gives Quinn the heebyjeeby's.  He abstains far from anything that looks dirty, and if he happens to get a speck of filth on him, he'll jump into the nearest body of water and clean both himself and his clothes.

[spoiler=Background]

Quinn grew up on his family's fishing boat.  Before he was born, his parents had a dream of sailing around the world and visiting every region known to man.  And during that wonderful journey, an even more amazing one began when he was born.  Until he was six years old, Quinn's feet had never touched the mainland, and when he did it almost blew him away!  The sandy beaches, the grass on the hills, it made him just want to sit there and relax forever.  However, the sea was his home and he returned with his parents not to long after his mainland experience.

On the sea, Quinn experienced many things, both good and horrifying.  On one night, a storm blew him overboard, and he sank like a stone.  When he came to, his parents sat beside him, along with a wimpod that he had fell on at the sandy bottoms.  It was so frightened that it swam up to the surface with Quinn on his back.  He named the new friend, Wimpy.  Simple, but effective...what else was a kid going to think of?  Soon, Quinn and the Wimpy were the closest of friends, and they did everything together.  Wimpy was the one friend he had in this world, besides his parents, but kids never thought of their parents as real friends.  Being that he lived on the open sea, he yearned for a companionship of some kind, and found that in Wimpy.

When the UB's showed up two and a half years ago, they attacked Quinn and his parents while they were at sea.  The whole boat had capsized, and Quinn and his parents were flung out into the open sea, never to be reunited again.  Quinn and Wimpy found themselves stranded on an island sometime later, where they had to take up shelter and fight to survive every night, amongst the hordes of UB's that now ruled the lands.  After a year of isolation, Quinn and Wimpy had made a makeshift raft to try and leave the island, and had almost made it halfway across the ocean, but were thwarted again by the same UB.  This time, Wimpy was knocked unconscious as well. Quinn clutched on to his friend for dear life, desperate that his friend would wake up at any moment.  As they descended into the ocean, Quinn wished that he could've saved his parents...that he could've have saved Wimpy, that he could have saved himself.  A voice rang in his head...and it hummed a beautiful tune.

The next thing he knew, Quinn was face to face with the legendary Lugia...a beast who ruled the seas that he sailed on.  Lugia recognized Quinn as a human that was pure of heart...one that could overtake the threat of the UBs that threatened to destroy the world.  With Lugia's help, Quinn made a vow to get stronger, so that no one else would be separated from their loved ones ever again by the likes of the UBs.  From then on, Quinn would become Lugia's Guardian.  Once he reached the shore of the mainland, he made sure to sign up with the Aether International Headquarters.

[spoiler=Powers/Abilities/Weapons/Items]

Weather Manipulation: With a little time, and a glow of his Sigil, Quinn is able to summon devastating storms.  If the skies are cloudy, this happens almost instantaneously, but if it's sunny, the storm takes a little time to accumulate.  Although he himself is unaffected by the effects of the weather that he himself has created, others caught in his storm's wake will surely feel its affects.  His storms include powerful gusts of wind, heavy downpours, and many lightning strikes that he can control at will.

Aqua-dynamic: Quinn can both breath underwater, and traverse fast in water.  He moves fluidly, with his mind rather than his muscle.

Super Rod: A fishing rod that Quinn has had since being on his parent's boat.  He is able to use it in many other ways.

Key Stone Hairpin: Allows him to use Z-moves

[spoiler=Guardian of Order]

Name: Kogu Avateg

Age: 20

Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]

ClCWBga.jpg

Height: 5'11

Weight: 190 lbs

On the back of his right hand, Zygarde's Sigil is engraved into it, a large green Z.

[spoiler=Personality]The two words anyone who met this tall man would use to describe him is 'Overly Cheerful'. He's passionate about anything he does, always in high gear when other people are around. He's not very secretive, answering any question one would ask him. He takes insults directed at him without reaction, however, never insult his friends or Pokemon. It's never a good thing to do.

He is a caring person, wanting to help any pokemon and human he meets, which is why waiting in the Aether Foundation drives him crazy, and he constantly tries to escape. He's a bit oblivious, not noticing when people don't want his help. However, if someone is forceful enough, he will get the hint and leave them alone.

However, when someone threatens a Pokemon or person, a flip switches. He gets angry, and he does his best to stop someone from hurting anyone else. He has seen enough people suffer, and he wants to stop it any time he sees it.

[spoiler=Background]Kogu grew up a normal kid in Alola, doing the island challenge. Nothing unusual happened to him, no grant adventure, no great crisis. Just a boy and his pokemon traveling the four islands. No, nothing odd happened until after he challenged the league. He was able to overcome the Elite Four, but not the Champion of Alola.

After his performance against the Elite Four, Kogu was approached by Nitusa Labs, who asked him to help with an experiement. He agreed, need in the money,mand they put him to work immediately.

The labs handled a wide manner of experiments there, however, their most secretive is their Dual Experimentative Layered Type Acquisition, or D.E.L.T.A. Project. The project was intended to change the typing of a Pokemon and in the process, its physiology and moves to match. Kogu’s job was to test the Pokemon in battle after the procedure was complete. However, he never got the chance to do so.. Before he got the chance to battle the Pokemon, they would die, most of the time within in seconds of being subjected to the procedure. One Machamp managed to survive a day in agony before dying.

Kogu was bound by contract and thinly veiled threats not to say anything to the authorities. So he was trapped to just watch it all unfold. Finally it seemed that the D.E.L.T.A. Project was a success. A Scizor had been transplanted with an Ice/Fighting type genome and appeared to be resting comfortably. As the scientists and doctors were celebrating, Kogu stole the Scizor’s Pokeball and left the lab behind, destroying all their research and burning down the labs in the process. That day, he swore to himself he would never let people suffer because of his lack of actions again.

He stayed on the run for a few months, making sure the Scizor and all his other pokemon were okay as they travelled through the wildness, trying to stay off the radar. One night though, as he looked up to the stars, he noticed an explosion in the sky, and what seemed to be a bunch of green stars scattering across the night sky.

Then he noticed one was headed right his way. A Zygarde Core crashed into his chest. It seemed that Zygarde went to battle the Ultra Beasts, but was overwhelmed when they ganged up on him. They caused him to split into 100 cells, which Zygarde had lost contact with. Kogu agreed to help Zygarde rebuild himself. A green Z engraved itself onto his hand, proving that he was the guardian of Zygarde.

He spent a month traveling around, finding 23 pieces of Zygarde. During this time, the Aether Foundation had found him. He agreed to go with them, thinking he would help save the world, but to his dismay, they kept him locked on the floating island with the other guardians. Frustrated, he constantly tries to escape, and is constantly foiled.

[spoiler=Powers/Abilities/Weapons/Items]

Barrier Creation/Manipulation: Quinn is able to create and manifest psychic barriers at will.  These barriers and constructs are as strong as the ones that Lugia can create itself.

Fast Recovery: Quinn is able to heal minor wounds quickly.

Increased lung capacity: Quinn, as a victim of being thrown overboard numerous times, has been able to withstand incredible pressure on his lungs and is able to hold his breath for up to 10 minutes at a time.

Super Rod: A fishing rod that Quinn has had since being on his parent's boat.  He is able to use it in many other ways.

First is the matter of your Guardian Sigil, a small fix, but this does need to be added. Second I have some questions about your character's abilities. Just how strong are these psychic barriers? I understand that they are as strong as Lugia's, but what does that constitute? Can they be broken with a few good hits? Will it take a UB/Legendary to break the barrier? Can the barrier even be broken? As far as the healing goes, is it only himself that he can heal? Also what exactly did you have in mind as far as 'minor wounds'? Cuts and scrapes? Bullets wounds? Disease and poisoning?

And tbh I don't really believe a person's lung capacity would expand to 10 minutes just because they nearly drowned a bunch. Like maybe 4 minutes if you train yourself to hold your breath? but idk 10 minutes seems to be pushing it.

Also just for clarification, when you say Lugia isn't in their Pokeball you intend for it to just follow Quinn around?

I apologize for all the question and if I come across jabroniy. This is a great start! And most of it is just for me to get a better understanding of what you intend

...yeah alright, I'll give this a shot. Already put a reserve for Tapu Koko in that list, so all's good.

Though I'll need a while to determine what angle I want my guy to take. All I know so far is that this time I wanna play a male :/

EDIT: Change of plan; decided I like Bulu more than Koko. More Tapu reserves would be nice, tho

So... quick skeleton is quick. There're still a few things I need to think through here and there, but I'll come back to this at a later stage

[spoiler=Garrett Estrada, Wielder of the Third Tapunium Z]WZI9AB5.png

"I'll keep the Tapus and all the other Pokemon safe. I swear that on my life."

Personal Information:
Name: Garrett Estrada

Age: 25
Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance:]Garrett stands at an average height (for a male, that is) of 183cm (6' 0") tall, and weighs in a solid 81kg (178lbs). Most of the weight is due to his muscle mass, and he does have a stocky build to him. His most defining features, apart from his muscles that is, are his olive brown hair and his emerald green eyes. Garrett's typical outfit consists of a pair of pale grey track pants, a cobalt blue T-shirt and a pair of onyx black sandals.

58c0748e40e7744b0cab56bf1fda2a2801db3e4e

[spoiler=Personality:]If there was one man least afraid of accepting the responsibility of becoming a Guardian and protecting his chosen Legendary Pokemon, that man would be Garrett... and he'd easily be leagues ahead of the second-least afraid man. Garrett is a man who will step up to any challenge, no matter how demanding said challenge would be, and is even willing to put his own life on the line if that's what it takes to do his job as a Guardian. This sense of bravado may have been a facade that a teenage or preteen Garrett once had in order to help him face his fears, but he has long since shed that off, and now that same sense of bravado is a good part of just who Garrett is. Nonetheless, he is determined to persevere over the Ultra Beasts and their attempts to slay the Legendary Pokemon, and to stop their attacks in their tracks. And he'll either do so or die trying. As determined as he is to save the Legendary Pokemon however, Garrett seems well aware of his limitations, and as such, he'll keep his body in peak physical condition.

Garrett may not be the smartest person in the world, only having an average level of intellect overall. However, he had enough cunning about him to clear the trials that called for things to be thought through (he cleared the entire thing, by the way), and he is an avid learner. He can easily adapt to most problems that present themselves in any way, shape or form, and he's also quick to realize any mistakes that made and correct them for any future instances of similar scenarios. Garrett's intelligence mostly stems from his experiences as a Pokemon Trainer and, considering that he spent fourteen years developing his skills, one would think that he had learnt a lot. This vast level of experience is also the reason why Garrett has full confidence in himself and his Pokemon, most prominently the Tapu Bulu that he serves as a protector for.

He may not know a lot of things, but Garrett is adamant that he does know what he's doing at any given time. When working together with others, he may sometimes make deviations from even the most well laid-out plans out of a hunch, and can outright abandon a plan that he can't see working out in practice. For that reason, most controlling types tend to get on Garrett's bad side rather quickly, and will likely stay there until they either let off momentarily or prove that their words are worth listening to. Of course, Garrett will still respect the decisions made by those responsible for thousands of lives. He just wants the only person worrying about his survival to be himself.

[spoiler=Background:]When he was ten years, a Sinnoh-born Garrett Estrada began what would be his world-wide Pokemon adventure. It was in this region that he caught his first Pokemon, a Gible. After completing the Sinnoh League, Garrett traveled to the Johto Region, and then the Kanto Region, and then the Unova Region, and then the Kalos Region, and then the Hoenn Region, before finally setting foot in Alola for the first time in his life. Of course, it had taken Garrett four years to clear the respective Gym Leaders, beat the Elite Four members and defeat the Champions of the other regions. However, as he decided to partake in the Alolan Island Challenge, he would discover that the rules to the challenge were completely different; instead of battling Gym Leaders, Garrett would have to beat several power Pokemon known as Totem Pokemon. He'd be disappointed to see that there were only seven trials, rather than the eight that he would expect from the leagues. But he dived right in anyway, already clearing the trial set by Trial Captain Ilmia with relative ease and obtaining his first Z Crystal, a Normalium Z, for the efforts that he didn't have to invest much of at all. However, when Kailee Avila, a little girl at the time who had just started her island challenge, had happily stated that she too had earned her Normalium Z, Garrett congratulated Kailee, but immediately got to wondering how she managed it. This wasn't because he had any doubt for Kailee's skill, but rather that he was always under the impression that there was only ever one of each type of Z Crystal. Taking a break from the Island Challange and spending some time in the Malie Library, Garrett discovered otherwise, learning that there were multiple Normalium Zs that Ilmia could replace each time anyone completed his trial with success. However, while most of the other Z Crystals were equally as common, there was one type of Z Crystal that Garrett was interested in which there were only four recorded to have ever existed. It was the Tapunium Z.

Flash forward eight years, and Garrett finally got a lead on what would be the third of the four Tapunium Z's, a cave that could be found along one cliffside of Mt Lanakila. The only obvious way up to the mouth of the cave was via good old fashioned rock climbing, and the cliffside looked to be dangerous, but Garrett, being Garrett, decided he'd give climbing it a shot anyway. He came prepared for the climb, and he did well getting up near the entrance, but he discovered that a foothold was loose a little too late and slipped as result, causing him to lose his grip and start falling. Thankfully, a branch began to grow from the cliff face from out of nowhere and, wasting no time, Garrett grabbed that branch in order to stop himself from plummeting to his demise. He eventually resumed climbing, but not before taking a breather and looking down as a reminder of how close a call that was. He made it up, and began exploring the cave, only to see that there was a single tunnel that lead to a pedestal where the Tapunium Z lay. Waiting at the end of this tunnel was Tapu Bulu; he was surprised to see Garrett continue on considering how far he fell, and stated that he was here to protect the Tapunium Z from that those were unworthy. Tapu Bulu also said that, although he was no Totem Pokemon, he was more than strong enough to provide Garrett a challenge should be what he wanted from him. Naturally, Garrett accepted, and performed well enough for Tapu Bulu to consider joining his Pokemon's ranks.

Garrett then resumed his Island Challenge, and although Tapu Bulu could be called upon at any time, he wasn't needed until the final trail that Garrett had gotten to a year later. Here, Garrett simply had to reach the end of the path in Vast Poni Canyon until he got to the pedestal that contained the Dragonium Z at the end... although that was the easy part of the trial. The hard part was that, before Garrett could actually collect the Dragonium Z, the Totem Kommo-o jumped out of its hiding spot and immediately engaged him, giving him no time to reach for a Poke Ball. Garrett found himself wrestling with the Kommo-o as a result, amazingly lasting long enough for Tapu Bulu to see what was going on so he could calm the raging Pokemon. But neither of them were done yet. Suddenly, a large wormhole materialized from the sky, and out come something Garrett had never seen in his life. It was a Celesteela, and for an unknown reason it was after Tapu Bulu's blood. It took Tapu Bulu himself, the Totem Kommo-o and his allies and all the Pokemon on Garrett's belt to finally fell the Ultra Beast. And then some men from Aether International came to the scene. The one female of the lot had approached Garrett, and asked for him to join the foundation. Garrett was reluctant at first, wanting to discuss things with Tapu Bulu before signing any contracts or anything, but eventually accepted, on the condition that the two were allowed to prioritize on find the other Guardians of Alola. And that's the story of how Garrett became a member of the Aether International, the foundation formed solely to combat the Ultra Beasts that threatened the world as he knew it.

Nature: Hasty

Characteristic: Alert to sounds

Ability: Dry Skin

Moves: Thunder, Hyper Voice, Surf, Rain Dance

[spoiler=Powers & Abilities:]Garrett has achieved levels of strength that the normal man should not be capable of. For example, he is able the move the heavy rocks that would otherwise require the Machamp Shove feature of the Poke Ride Pager by himself, and he was able to wrestle with the Totem Kommo-o which bought Tapu Bulu enough time to calm it down.

Garret's body is also able to heal itself of minor wounds in the matter of seconds. And even if an injury is enough to put him into a hospital, he'll find himself able to walk it off within 48 hours, at the absolute most, after being inflicted with said injury; no matter how severe it was to begin with. However, there are several conditions that Garrett has to take into account at all times. For starters, any limbs that had been severed from Garrett's body remain severed, so he'll have to be careful with any and all types of blades in particular. Burn marks will also still show where Garrett had been burned, although the burns themselves will heal over time as per usual.

Finally, although Garrett can naturally recover from standard poisons, severe poisons, such as those coming from a stray Toxic attack or two, can easily overtax his body's healing factor, which requires someone to have an Antidote handy for him. And poisons from substances originating from Ultra Space can bypass it completely.

[spoiler=End of the Line]

hjUmpR8.jpg
"Say something useful or stop wasting the air you're using on your mindless drivel."

Name: River Graves

Age: 17

Gender: Female

[spoiler=Appearance]rYJH321.jpg
With a rather unimpressive height of 5'5" and a weight of only 129 pounds, River's appearance is actually rather simple for the most part. While her skin tone is a bit pale - especially for somebody who's spent lots of time out in the sun - her hair is anything but. Sporting short, jet-black hair with a thick, greasy texture, River's hair is accompanied by eyes of the same color. Her eyes always seem to be just a little bit baggy, as if she's only been getting five hours of sleep every night. The same eyes also give off a perpetually cold glare, as if daring anyone to comment about the bags.

For several reasons, River can and will wear a diving suit nearly every waking minute of her day. They don't get caught on anything, are hard to tear, and - at least from her viewpoint - wearing them will inform onlookers that she is a diver. As of late, this is also an even more deliberate choice to cover her Sigil. River's Sigil as the Guardian of Kyogre spreads across her back and arms, forming a series of connected red lines and loops much like those of Kyogre itself. It's gotten to the point where diving suits make up more or less her entire wardrobe, typically in black and/or blue.

[spoiler=Personality]In life, there are people with bright, vivid emotions that are easily read. River is not one of those people by any means. Although she feels them just the same as anyone else, it wouldn't be unfair to think the contrary, what with her nigh-chronic poker face and unwillingness to express herself. She's just one of those people who can't emote well and doesn't want to. Emotional attachment means nothing to her; the only sort of attachment worth her attention is business or rivalries. "Cold and calculating" is a phrase that comes to mind with River.

Whatever it is she does, River also needs to prove that she's the best at it. Not even being perfect will satisfy her impossibly high standards; she needs to be the only perfect person in the world, no matter who she has to undermine in order for that to happen. This, as it may imply, means that River is a very underhanded person who both can and will sabotage everybody around her to keep them below her level. She is an awful team player, interested only in her own achievements and making sure they remain exclusively hers. Whatever she's got goes beyond mere pride; in her own words, River Graves has no equal. And she'll lie, manipulate, cheat, and sabotage everyone around her to make sure it stays that way. Luckily, believing she's already perfect, it's not every day River gives her all into anything. Others just aren't worth it, after all.

Of course, doing all that to someone or something isn't easy. It requires knowledge of her target, and a degree of patience. If it's to further her own agenda, River doesn't mind a bit of waiting or studying. In fact, she places quite a bit of value on information. After all, knowledge is power, and being perfect entails having more power than anyone else. If River senses there's something she can learn from somebody, she'll press to get the information until her curiosity has been sated. Then it's just a matter of figuring out how to use it to her advantage. And don't worry. No matter how trivial it is, River will find a way to use any scrap of knowledge to her advantage.

That being said, even a merciless subjugator like River needs to have some fun. The problem there being that in most things many might consider hobbies, such as battles or any sort of game, River's need to succeed turns an innocent hobby into another battlefield to prove her dominance in. There is, however, one hobby that leaves her satisfied. Diving. The vast world beneath the ocean's surface is entirely different from the one built on solid land; to River, that world is an brief escape from a life where she wants and needs to be better than everybody at everything. In the ocean, River sees a place where she can stop thinking about everyone else and just do what she personally wants. A world that can belong to just her in her eyes. It's not quite in line with River's usual style of thought, but that's just how she feels about it.

Of course, because she admires the ocean and the things that live in it, River desires knowledge about those too. But not just for personal gain. River's interest in learning about the ocean is purely recreational, though she'd be lying if she said she has no interest in finding treasures lost to the tides and selling them for profit. The great blue depths seem to bring out the best in River. When in the water, River is calm. Happy, even. Not that she'd tell anyone that.

[spoiler=Biography]Hailing from Black City in Unova, the Graves family is less than honorable. Dating as far back as River's great-great-great grandfather - one-man wrecking crew Malcom Graves - the Graves family has a knack for getting on the law's bad side, be it for fortune, infamy, revenge, or just for laughs. With the bold and reckless heart of her father and the cold, calculating mind of her mother, River just may be the greatest of Malcom's progeny someday. But that's the future; let's discuss the past.

Due to the intimate relationship the Graves family had with dirty money, it would be a lie to say River grew up lacking anything money could buy. She grew up wealthily in the bright buildings and shadowy streets of Black City, always one step ahead of her peers, and willing to cut her betters a step down to put herself above them. Since before she can even remember, River's parents have always had the bar for what they expected of her set at ridiculous heights. Simply getting a 100 on a test wasn't good enough; she had to be the only perfect score in class. Baking a delicious cake was meaningless if down the road, little Susan's cake also tasted good. River was expected to not only be perfect at every turn, but undermine those around her to ensure she was the only perfect person around. This style of upbringing, while unquestionably forging her into the powerful trainer she'd become, was extremely stressful on little River. In time, she too succumbed to the Graves family "curse" at age ten, when her own Pokemon adventure was to begin.

As was family tradition, River was given a Deino as her first partner. Much unlike tradition, however, she wasn't given Deino so much as she stole it from the Graves residence before disappearing off the face of Black City entirely. Just as hard as she'd been pushed, River pushed back at the world once she was free. In no time flat, she'd gone from a lone Deino to an imposing trio of Zweilous, Eelektross, and Sigilyph. It still wasn't good enough. Gym challenges and the Pokemon League simply didn't interest her. What was the point of predictable battles with predictable people? She was too good for that. She needed something else, something different. Something unlike anything she'd done before. Such as Alola's Island Challenge.

Once she read about it, River packed her things and snuck onto a boat bound for Alola. The people in Alola were very unlike the Unovans she was used to, not to mention the Pokemon. Everyone was so nice, so friendly and laid-back, so...disappointing. They mostly seemed less concerned with winning and more with just having fun. Which, to River, was just synonymous with being afraid to work hard for success. Needing to prove her dominance, River tackled trial after trial, before realizing just two trials in, a critical flaw with her approach. Trials didn't make her any money. Money was required for...well, anything really. She needed an income source. It was then that she overheard talk about treasures deep underwater. Treasures nobody had tried to find. No doubt, treasures that would sell for a pretty penny if she found them.

Thus began River's interest in diving. Being underwater was an entirely different experience from standing on solid land. Conventional gravity was just a sweet afterthought, the skills required were ones River had never honed, and the world below the ocean was much, much bigger than the one above it. For once in her life, despite her greedy intent, River felt at peace when she got to dive into the ocean for the very first time. Down there, in the depths of the ocean blue, River began finding treasure after treasure, selling them on land for a small fortune of her own. Eventually, she got more than she'd bargained for. A treasure chest hidden in an old, long-sunken shipwreck...with a guardian. That guardian was a Dhelmise.

Having no Pokemon capable of lasting underwater besides Eelektross, River had an idea. Why simply defeat Dhelmise when she could take it for her own? Similar encounters would occur with a Toxapex during a later dive, and a Lycanroc one night as she attempted to chase down somebody that owed her money. Commanding a team of six rather different Pokemon, be they from her native Unova or her new home in Alola, River went on to complete her Island Challenge, not bothering to combat the Elite Four and Champion. Instead, now that she'd proven her worth to Alola, she wanted to go to other regions and breeze through the standard gym challenges. Not before establishing ownership of a small apartment near the beach in Hau'oli City, of course.

With her time in Alola concluded, only two years after leaving home, River set off for the Kalos Region next. By the time she got there, however, her interest in the Pokemon League appeared to have waned. She just wanted to dive and learn about the various Pokemon living underwater. She studied the denizens of the depths, moving from region to region and selling any treasure she came across, until she eventually found her way to Hoenn. Of all the mundane or magical creatures under the ocean, none compelled her quite like Kyogre. The king of the ocean, able to expand the seas with torrents of rainfall. Apparently, some time ago, a group known as Team Aqua had planned to use its power to do precisely that; turn the planet into a single global ocean, to create a harmonious world where Pokemon could prosper. While she didn't fully agree with the end goal, River knew one thing she and Team Aqua had in common.

She wanted Kyogre. She wanted its power, to prove once and for all, River Graves was without equal.

Her stay in Hoenn proved to be the longest she'd spent in a single region since her adventure began. River spent three years in Hoenn, scouring every cubic inch of the waters for any trace of the legendary Kyogre. Even the Ultra Beast invasion didn't seem to faze her devotion to the search. In the end, it wasn't her that found Kyogre. Rather, it found her. Her attempts to capture it were in vain, before it turned tail and left her near the bottom of the ocean, with only a battered and bruised trio of Toxapex, Eelektross, and Dhelmise to show for what had happened. However, River remained undaunted. If anything, the encounter only drove her even further in her search to find and capture Kyogre. When she found it the second time, it took a liking to her dedication and focus. While she never did catch Kyogre, she left a well-hidden cave at the ocean floor as its Guardian just a month ago.

In the time since, she's been contacted by Aether International, brought to their headquarters, and informed of just how dire the Ultra Beast situation was. She has no personal concern for the outcome of the invasion - everyone else could get killed for all she cares - but letting them succeed would be equivalent to kneeling down and saying they're better than her. And if there's one thing River won't ever do, it's call somebody her better.

River Graves has no equal.

[spoiler=Powers/Abilities/Weapons/Inventory]Hydromancy: Simply put, the ability to bend water to one's will. River is able to control nearby water with her mind.

Water Breathing: What good would a Guardian of Kyogre be without the ability to stay in her master's domain? That's not to say she has gills, however. Rather, her lungs have become able to separate the oxygen and hydrogen that make up water, turning H2O into O2 before expelling the hydrogen and using the oxygen to breathe.

Bringer of the Tides: Not something River has control over (yet). She and the ocean are pretty tight now, and this shows in subtle climate changes in her general area. Where River goes, high tides and moisture in the sky above her - lending to altogether wetter weather - follow. The effects grow more drastic if she stays in one place long enough, making long-term stays in coastal cities a bad idea.

Z-Ring: Comes with an assortment of Z-Crystals, since she's completed her Island Challenge. Usually has Dragonium Z in its slot, to be used by Hydreigon.

Spare Wetsuit: Just in case. Identical in every way to her regular one.

Net Balls x5: You never know what you could run into underwater. Also useful for catching Bug-types.

Trident: A weapon. The outer edges of the trident's outer prongs have been sharpened into blades, allowing for sweeping slash attacks as well as a thrusting attempt to impale a foe.

[spoiler=Hailey Callisto]

ZNBdF1d.png

"There's so much to learn!"

General Info

Name: Hailey Callisto
Age: 22
Gender: Female

[spoiler=Appearance]

e1eyqIa.jpg

Height: 5'7" ~  17.78 cm

Weight: 131 lbs ~ 59.42 kg

Hidden by her knee in the above picture, Hailey wields a light-silver bracelet with a Key Stone embedded onto it around her right wrist; the color matching the silver trinket she wears on her hair. She bears her sigil on the back of her right hand - a 5 pointed star with a rather ominous looking eye in the middle of it. The coloration of the star matches the coloration of the iris of the eye - a deep teal color, while the scelra is a gold color. When she uses her powers, the iris of the ominous eye will glow.

[spoiler=Personality]

Compassionate would describe Hailey very well; she cares greatly about those close to her, whether they're in danger or going through some more emotional issues. She is also very cheery and happy, always readily available to talk. She is very much an open book, sharing things about herself openly to people, and encouraging people to do the same with her. She has a strong love for space and all of the objects floating in it, and studies it to the point where she can ask any question you have about it.

Hailey is as clumsy as she is empathetic, and gets flustered easily if prompted. She also has a bad habit of focusing on something too much, forgetting about the things around her; this is most apparent when she is looking at space through her telescope. Her tenancy to want to help people and in general wanting to make everyone happy has lead her to getting in over her head many times, and it is likely that it will get her into trouble in the future as well.

[spoiler=Background]

Hailey was born in Mossdeep City as a single child, where she lived with her father for as long as she could remember. She has always had an attraction to space and, more specifically, starts; it is pretty easy to see why, as her father worked in the famous Mossdeep Space Center and took her there fairly often. While she had big aspirations of becoming an astronaut one day, she was also very interested in exploring the planet that she existed on. When she was ready to become a trainer, her father gave her a Porygon as her first of many partners in her journey.

She spent most of her adventure in Hoenn with her little Porygon, catching Pokemon that caught her interest, such as Solrock and Lunatone, and even challenging the occasional gym. She would spend many of her nights camping outside during her journey, gazing at the stars with her companions. Sometimes she would even pull out her telescope to see the stars up close, passing on the telescope to her Pokemon to let them see as well. One fateful night, she saw a rather bright shooting star. Naturally, she made a wish on it - the same wish she always made, to go to space -  but then noted that it was getting bigger and bigger. It took her a bit to realize what was happening, but then it hit her - well, almost hit her. The star had crashed behind her, leaving a crater in its wake. At the center of the crater was a Pokemon that she recognized almost instantly from her studies.

Jirachi laid there, injured from its crash landing. Almost immediately, she rushed to the small star, taking it to her arms and rushing it to where she set up camp to try and aid its wounds. As she was taking care of the legendary, she took a vow to not only protect it, but also to keep its identity hidden. This was because of the recent Ultra Beast invasions that has been plaguing the world, which is more than likely the main reason why JIrachi came crash landing into Earth in the first place - as a guardian of the people. As Hailey was taking care of the little space explorer's injuries, it reached out and touched her right arm. Suddenly, light brightly bursted from her hand, leaving a strange marking on it. The mysterious eye was Jirachi's Sigil - the mark of its guardian.

As Hailey traveled, she started to travel past Hoenn, catching even more Pokemon to her collection. Of course, as she traveled, word of her Jirachi was starting to spread. The Aether International, just like many others, had heard rumors of Jirachi and offered to take in both Hailey and Jirachi to protect them. At first, she wasn't sure to accept, but she eventually accepted, realizing that she couldn't protect Jirachi alone, and Jirachi couldn't protect everyone on its own either.

[spoiler=Guardian Abilities]

Space Explorer:  The Sigil has transformed her biology, allowing her to not get popped like a balloon in space. This change in biology has also removed the need to breathe, meaning she can't be suffocated and she could technically "breathe" underwater. She can also propel herself very lightly in any direction - the impact of the force made by this is insignificant in all cases except when in space.

Gravitational Change: Thanks to her Sigil, she can change how gravity affects her, essentially changing her weight as she pleases, although the change is gradual. This means she can make herself very light or very heavy. This also means that she can make herself jump higher due to the weaker gravitation. The limit that she can change her weight is ten fold - her limit is ten times as heavy and ten times as light. She can also change the orientation of gravity for herself.

[spoiler=Inventory]

Telescope: She carries around a small telescope, which she uses to star-see at night.

Key Bracelet: A thin, silver bracelet. There is a Key Stone embedded onto it, allowing Hailey to Mega Evolve her Pokemon.

[spoiler=Info on Aether International may be relevant to Character Creation idk]

Okay so information on Aether International. It was formed after the first year of the invasion, after the Aether Foundation and the International Police realized they couldn’t fix this problem alone. So they formed a joint organization. Aether International. Their main HQ is the manmade island that used to be located in the Alolan Region, however, it has since be modified to travel across the ocean constantly so as to avoid detection from the UBs.

Aether International’s mission statement is to stop the UB incursion and to save as many human lives as possible during the UB occupancy. When they first learned of Guardians popping up they began to seek them out and put them under their protection, believing that one day they may be the key to stopping the UBs. (which means that all of the RPers probably haven’t had much of an opportunity to leave the Aether International HQ in months)

Aether International is composed of two primary sectors. Research and Response. Research Sector tries to understand as much as they can about Ultra Beasts, Ultra Wormholes, Ultra Space, and Fallers. They conduct experiments to figure out their weaknesses, to understand how they communicate, etc. Most of the Research division is composed of old Aether Foundation employees. The Response Sector actively combats emergency threats, like Ultra Beasts attacking civilian areas. They also investigate reported Legendary or Guardian sightings.

The director of the Research division is Co-Director Wicke. She was a lead scientist of Aether Foundation and worked under Lusamine’s direction, but never agreed with her leadership (she was a prevalent character in Sun & Moon).

The director of the Response division is Co-Director Looker. I imagine you probably have some idea who he is. He’s appeared in several games. Very successful in the International Police, he was the first choice to lead the Response division.

Both Wicke and Looker report to Commander Marino, a very serious woman that was a part of neither the Aether Foundation, nor the International Police, but was very successful in her own right.  I haven't quite decided how she was successful, but rest assured that she was massively successful. Impressive enough to be trusted with control of what is arguably the most powerful organization on Pokearth.

Posting this for now, even though it's hella-WIP at the moment.

[spoiler=Application-in-Scheming (VERY WIP)]Name: Roysa Bornidel
Age: 26
Gender: Female
[spoiler=Appearance][spoiler=Visual Image (By Me using a Base)]JBVzpRj.png

The above image is pretty spot-on. Roysa stands at 5'4" tall, weighs in at roughly 128 lbs without the bag (158 with it), and the bag's strap will wind up covering the sigil during normal travel. The sigil is an altered variant of the Soul-Heart, focusing mostly on the front-center of it. Without her glasses, she is very-nearsighted and can't even see clearly the lettering on a keyboard if sitting in front of a computer without them while sitting properly. The bases of her boots are a blackish color and are thick to handle rough terrain.

~Body Slam
~Infestation
Main Nature: Naughty

[spoiler=Mirror]Pokemon: Ditto

Gender Identity: Female
Type: Normal
Ability: Imposter
Moves:
~Transform
Main Nature: Lax
Other Information: She has learned how to take Roysa's form, but never learned how to speak. She can write, however, and sometimes has acted as a transcriber for Pokemon in the past.

[spoiler=Association]Pokemon: Magneton

Gender Identity: Many (Them/They/We)
Type: Electric/Steel
Ability: Sturdy
Moves:
~Flash Cannon
~Discharge
~Double Team
~Magnet Rise
Overall Nature: Calm

[spoiler=Hachiko]Pokemon: Arcanine / Cyborcanine

Gender: Male
Type: Fire/Steel
Ability: Intimidate
Moves:
~Shift Gear (gained due to reconstruction)
~Aerial Ace
~Flame Blitz
~Iron Head (gained due to reconstruction)
Main Nature: Hardy
Other Information: Hachiko is the largest example of the power Magearna holds. He was found in a near-death state, a lot of body parts destroyed or completely failed and various points where he was slashed open, with sheer stubborn willpower being the only reason he still lived. With the help of a surgery team at the nearest Pokemon center, Roysa and Magearna managed to get together a series of cybernetic replacements for many of the shut-down organs and other parts, like replacements for two of the limbs. This heavy reconstruction now has Kenpachi treated as a Steel type in addition to being a Fire type and has had the unintended side effects of reducing the recoil on Flame Blitz due to the top of the skull being reinforced with iron plating and the gaining of the move Shift Gear. He also learned how to make full use of the metal plate over his skull for Iron Head.

[spoiler=Lider]Pokemon: Pidgeot

Gender: Female
Type: Normal/Flying
Ability: Soundproof
Moves:
~Brave Bird
~Giga Impact
~Defog
~Roost
Main Nature: Hasty
Other Information: Lider is the other Pokemon that benefited from surgery, though for a different reason. Lider is an elder Pidgeot that lost her hearing due to old age. With due to hearing implants that replaced the decayed parts responsible for being able to hear, Lider is capable of hearing again, but everything sounds at roughly the same volume to her now. Even shouting in their ear is likely to get no reaction. A line from the MTG character Dack Fayden said it best, "Perhaps planning should become a higher priority for me."

[spoiler=Magearna (WIP)]Pokemon: Magearna

Gender Identity: Female
Type: Steel/Fairy
Ability: Soul-Heart

Item: Invisibility Charm (see 'Other Things' in 'Powers/Abilities/Weapons/Inventory' spoiler)
Moves:
~Gyro Ball
~Shift Gear
~Heart Swap
~Fleur Cannon
Main Nature: Gentle
Other Information: ???

[spoiler=Powers/Abilities/Weapons/Inventory][spoiler=Guardian Ability]Because of the nature of the Soul-Heart that brings life to Magearna, the Artificial Pokemon grants a two-part ability.
Part One: Empathy
~While she cannot straight out read a person's mind, she can sense the emotions of those around her. She can get overwhelmed easily when around way too many people and needs Magearna's help to filter out the excess.
Part Two: Bring to Life
~She's capable of powering up machines that have otherwise gone dead, due to a lack of power-source. This is not limited to electrical machines, either.

[spoiler=Weapons]~Swift-light: Among Roysa's large back is a black flashlight whose switch has three positions. In the middle, it is inactive. Pull it slightly back or forward and it acts like a regular flashlight. What's unusual about this flashlight is when you pull the switch all the way forwards or backwards. All the way back and she gets in a Flash that's focused into a cone, so that she blinds only those the light's aimed at. All the way forward and you will end up seeing what looks like a Swift attack, but with orbs of light instead of stars. It's this that gives the odd flashlight its name.
It would not be far off for her to create other weapons down the line.

[spoiler=Other Abilities]~Knowledgeable: It's very hard to find a piece of information that she doesn't know. People tried and only 5 people have succeeded with a single fact each. It does help that, if she doesn't remember if off the bat, her tablet has almost all of the knowledge she has gained stored on it.

~Skilled Mechanic / Builder: All her life, she had been 'connected' with machines, always thinking that they made sense to her more so than Pokemon or people ever did. Because of that, even during her time as a trainer, she's worked on various machines as she could, leading to her love for the more artificial Pokemon in existence. It was this that ultimately caused her to become Magearna's partner after getting her unstuck from 'Pokeball' form.

~Stronger than she looks: A necessity when it comes to working with various machinations. There are several people whom would think that her scrawny look suggests that she's pretty strong until they get a swift kick downstairs. She's not insanely strong, however.

[spoiler=Other Things]~Rotom Tablet: Roysa has a white tablet computer that she makes use of, either to store various forms of knowledge that she can't afford to forget or using it to look up information. Within it is one of Magearna's refugees, a Rotom. The reason the Rotom is not listed in Roysa's Pokemon team is the fact that it is still technically a Wild Rotom and it almost never leaves the tablet. Roysa and the Rotom (with Magearna's help) have come to an agreement. Help magnify the tablet's wifi-capability as needed and try not to mess with the data on it and it can stay in the tablet in safety, a certain amount of the tablet's space is even reserved for the Rotom for this purpose. So far, it's been so good. (This Rotom can be controlled by the host as needed.)

~Illumination Crystals: Roysa wears a pair of bracelets that give her a slight glow around herself via the glowing crystals that could almost be mistaken for opals, making it so that she could always see in the dark.

~Toolbag / Medicine-Making Bag: Though separated from each other to keep from mixing them up, Roysa has held in several altered Pokeballs devices for either working on her various machinations or for making various medicines for her Pokemon. (Depending on what she can get on her hands on and needs to do, she can make the following medicines given enough time: Potion, Super Potion, Energy Powder, Hyper Potion, Energy Root, Max Potion, Full Restore, Ether, Max Ether, Elixir, Max Elixir, Full Restore, Revival Herb, Revive, Max Revive, Full Heal, Antidote, Awakening, Burn Heal, Ice Heal, Paralyze Heal, Heal Powder) She is fully-capable of using this set-up to take care of Hachiko's needs in addition to her other Pokemon's needs. In a real pinch, she can also use this bag as a swinging weapon, but she risks breaking a lot of stuff, even things in the Pokeballs with that tactic.

~Invisibility Charm: A device Roysa made to mimic the abilities of a chameleon. it is magnetically attached to the front of Magearna's Soul-Heart, which causes it to look more like a round jewel instead of having an indent in the center. By focusing a small amount of power into it, Magearna can travel about unseen. She can still be heard and knocked into, however...

[spoiler=End of the Line]

hjUmpR8.jpg

"Say something useful or stop wasting the air you're using on your mindless drivel."

Name: River Graves

Age: 17

Gender: Female

[spoiler=Appearance]rYJH321.jpg

Ability: No Guard

Moves: Stone Edge, Sucker Punch, Reversal, Swords Dance

[spoiler=Misc]Battle Theme: Naoko Mitome, Chika Sekigawa - End of the World

Battle Theme (100% effort): Yoko Shimomura - In The Final (Pokemon Black/White Soundfont Remix)

River should be complete now unless I missed something somewhere.

Sorry I didn't get much app reviewing done today. I was gonna go over all the works in progresses as well, just to see how everyone was doing, but alas, that did not happen.

Accepted:

- Yui

- Sonic

- Hyde

Champion, admittedly I read trough your app very briefly because I was pressed for time so I don't have any good notes. However, the primary thing that I do remember about your character is his ability not making any sense to me. What do you mean not being affected by mystical means? Our characters aren't really getting magical abilities per se. So I'm not really sure to what your Guardian power is. Also, and I may have misread because of how quickly I read through it, but you note that Genesect burns the sigil into your character...but what does the sigil look like?

Also, I noticed a problem with your application that was similar to Wind Rider's application when they asked me to look through their's. When I read through your application I felt like I wasn't reading much. As though I could summarize your character into a sentence or two. I would love it if you could make your character more complex, give them more depth.

Note that with Yui's character their background is integral to their character's motives. It explains a lot about their character and gives a good look at their history, without being too long winded. While the personality is a good analysis of those motives and the character's psyche. It's not just a quick blurb of whether or not their an introvert or an extrovert and how they express that particular quality that is so common among personality descriptions. See if maybe you can't work on your application a bit.

EDIT: REMINDER TO EVERYONE: Unless you specifically state that your character is a new recruit to Aether International, arriving with the last few weeks, or days, all of our characters should be fairly familiar with each other when the RP starts. They'll already know each other names, more than likely, no need for introductions, definitely will have seen each other on base. It's just something to think about.
