[spoiler=EP11]

  • Ghost Girl learns that someone is helping Yusaku, maybe she'll figure out their IRL location.
  • So child Yusaku is told by some mysterious voice in an isolated room to think of three things. What on earth is his backstory about? Getting a bit creepy whatever it is.
  • So he has always been able to sense the Cyberse, I'm guessing that's why he's in the isolated room for some reason, maybe someone wiped his memory to keep him from talking about an experiment or something? There's a conspiracy here for sure, could be interesting.
  • "You're back being a hostage", I don't think that was suppose to be funny, but regardless it made me chuckle at his bluntness.
  • Revolve Boot Section seems like a pretty good card for Vullet (varret? I am not sure what their name is at this point). Hope we get that IRL soon.

[spoiler=VRAINS 11]

  • Firewall got an appearance one week earlier than predicted, so...yay.
  • At least Fire Prison had a loophole, because if it didn't Yusaku would be legitimately screwed over. (Konami, do not print)
  • So...Varrel Lord got its name changed to Borreload; idk.
  • Yusaku continues to use YS17 / SD32 cards; well, I guess he'd better start promoting his Deck if people are to play them.
  • Revolver mentions stuff about how AIs came into existence; how much of that is true remains to be seen because I cbb to go Wikipedia sheet about it right now.
  • Ghost Girl got inside to watch, with Kusanagi's help.

[spoiler=VRAINS 11]

That cage went from unfairly good to pretty bad if using the Cyberse monsters as materials to get them off the field solves things. Despite Vanity's Emptiness having an easier clause IRL I still think the cage is less good, probably because of how much more situational it is. Not sure if I liked that way of getting off the hook. I guess when they do tell us these extra clauses we just predict the outcome but there must be some sort of middle ground to this kind of scenario. Something like telling us the built-in way of getting rid of it but having it be more of a puzzle for the main character, because last episode it seemed like it was this major obstacle to overcome..... hmmm

I now believe the AI's free will might have been in some way produced by extracting something from guinea pigs during an experiment, and that Yusaku might have been one such guinea pig here.

One would think Playmaker having an ally somewhere would have been figured out earlier. Their plans to capture/trap him have not been something he could predict to such precision that he'd be able to produce elaborate hacks in advance for the terrain and hid them until needed all over the VRAINS, and he sure isn't hacking anything while surfing the data storm. Just saying.

[spoiler=Vrains ep. 11]

  • Hey look Firewall's here, kind of nice that its alternate art is featured when it attacks too
  • Of course Fire Prison has a loophole
  • Ghost Girl got inside to watch, which is nice, but why doesn't she just take Ignis/Ai if she's already there
  • Decide on a name for vullets and Varrel Lord, please and thank you subs
  • Revolve Boot Section is a godlike card for vullets
  • They're probably gonna print everything that isn't Beltlink, Interrupt Resistor and Boot Section in the next pack which is nice

[spoiler=EP12]

  • Yuasku uses "Destiny Draw" too, not surprising, what is surprising is that he calls it that.
  • Revolver knows something about Yusaku's past and SOL Technologies are involved.
  • Surprisingly, Yusaku won. After his streak I was expecting a loss to the main bad guy, but they didn't do that this time around. I guess they don't want the main girl character to be in a coma for a long time.
  • Not sure if we knew that Kogami was Revolver's father, but alright then.
  • Ignis is able to become real and shows his true form...but he's super tiny and Yusaku and Shoichi aren't impressed. Clearly there's more to him than we can see now.

  • Yusaku wins by Destiny Drawing "Battle Buffer"; now why TCG doesn't make discussion threads about anime sheet anymore, idk, unless they went to Discord to do whatever.
  • Aoi is back to normal; ok, now please do something useful so we don't diss you like we did with Kotori and Yuzu.
  • Revolver has shock from hearing Yusaku reveal he had some stuff from 10 years ago.
  • Dr. Kogami is Revolver's father (presumably, or that's just a title of address; think the latter)
  • Ignis shows his real form, but it's tiny.
  • Akira is getting fired for knowing too much.

Also Ghost Girl duels in episode 14-15, so...

[spoiler aw man]

Now how will he support Aoi? It's like the Valerie Grey situation all over again.

Akira: "I'm fired?!"

SOL CEO: "Not just fired, you're ruined."

Now Akira may have to sell all of Aoi's clothes and pretty things just to pay off his debt.

[spoiler=Things]

The executives said that he knows too much, and may have to get rid of him [we know the name of a potential successor for him, but that's it]. While chances of dismissal are high, it's not guaranteed.

That being said, Akira probably has a backup plan or at least something saved in case sheet happens. Or Aoi can start doing stuff on her own once recovery ends.

It would be nice if you could stop spoiling future episodes, I didn't want to know that. It's minor now, but I don't want to avoid looking at this thread just so I won't be spoiled.

@Zazu: Information was already posted on the Wikia / Organization, so it's not something you don't already know.

But for future notes, suppose I better keep them hidden.

Yes, and that's exactly what I don't look at. I don't see how that would make it okay to spoil what happens in future episodes regardless.

If you want to continue this conversation, do so over PM.

[spoiler=Some other stuff]

Hopefully Master Duels become more of a thing. While Speed Duels aren't really bad, if they want to promote the game/sets, they'll need to keep using Master Duel format. Speed Duels have their limitations and not everyone uses Duel Links. (Also need to showcase how the other mechanics work out, unless they're focusing solely on Links for the ED.)

  • As mentioned earlier, we don't know if Akira is really getting fired in the next few episodes; it was discussed with the higher-ups whose real appearances are unknown and the apparent successor.
  • Next one is semi-filler; Yusaku gets some break time, Ema finds out stuff and involves another slice of life plot. (Pre-release, I predicted Ema would just be some random filler; guess she's going to be semi-relevant overall).
  • Other than knowing what the match is, we don't know what will happen due to lack of summaries and stuff.

Let's see if Shima Naoki actually does something useful, or he'll just be written off as some character who exists.

[spoiler prediction for final duel]

Yusaku will face off against Ignis, who takes on the form of his alter-ego, Playmaker.

[spoiler=response]

We just got started on the series, so it's way too early to be predicting this.

But by the time we get to the final in a few years, Yusaku should've either gotten his grudge with Hanoi over a long time ago and actually enjoys dueling, or he still remains a person who only duels for revenge (and cue Yugioh equivalent of another anime character; hopefully he has changed by then).

That, and Link Summoning and monsters should be far more sophisticated than they are at present, and we can see a full array of plays made.

====

Not trying to push your idea down, but the story is still being fleshed out; considering it's about 3 months old and hasn't gotten very far. How long they'll run VRAINS for; idk, maybe the usual 3-4 years or shorter depending on how things go.

Finally managed to catch up with the latest 2 eps

[spoiler=Thoughts on VRAINS 11]
- Ghost Girl learns that someone is helping Yusaku (Kusanagi) when they allowed her in via irregularities within the program. A bit careless I should say
- Ignis realises that the field spell erased its program and wondered what'd happen if he slept
- Revolver chats about the origins of AI, and that Ignis has free will
- K, so Yusaku "three things" shtick originated from a buried memory of him in a room being told to think of three things... oh and he can also sense, the pulse of cyberse
- I didn't know Varrel Load Dragon came with a safety warning when it attacks :Kappa:  when Revolver lowered his visor.
- It is cool to see the alt art of Firewall Dragon being incorporated when it attacks, similar to Number 34: Terror-Byte's alt art depicting it in attack position.
- Of course notBird Cage has a loophole

[spoiler=Thoughts on VRAINS 12]
- Yusaku decides to bet everything on a "Destiny Draw" (though he could've called it something else)
- That last turn was exciting, plays for days that resulted in Yusaku's win.
- From his reaction to what Yusaku said, Revolver knows something about what happened 10 years ago, and SOL Technology seems to be involved too.
- At least Revolver was a man of his word and gave Yusaku the removal program for Aoi.
- According to the Chess Pieces, Akira now knows too much and chat about removing him from his current position (whether he's getting fired or demoted remains to be seen, though I think he might be fired) in addition to his successor
- So Ignis gets his body back, but he's tiny, (Honestly, he was bigger when he didn't have it) and neither Kusanagi or Yusaku were impressed.
On another note, you'd think Varrel Load Dragon would be unsilhouetted in the opening now given it has appeared

Also, I'm surprised noone mentioned that the ending is still "Believin' in Magic" despite the Org article saying it was being retired in July.

I'm placing my money on the creators having a change of heart (though a part of me believes that the Org was misinformed and that the ending wasn't supposed to change that soon)

[spoiler=EP13]

  • Ghost Girl is staking out the hot dog stand, they have no idea it's her though.
  • Ghost Girl sales off some footage to the frog and pigeon guys, I guess they are finally going to be important for something other than bad comic relief.
  • Speaking of which, a long ass title for their next scoop, I don't know if I find it funny or not though, I feel kind of sad for them.
  • So this is a recap episode? Why spend so much time on that, it's only episode 13, not like we forgot what happened already. I wonder if they didn't have a huge budget for this and had to make due with doing recaps.
  • Ghost Girl is strangely vain about her beauty, I mean, she's got them titties and all, but not really what I expected from her character.
  • Yuasku deletes the scoop, so never mind about that being useful part...
  • Overall, this episode was kind of unneeded, or at least instead of doing so much recap, maybe catch up with other characters, like you should be doing instead of being a bad show? Sigh, if they pulled themselves together, YGO animes could be good, but it's never going to happen, is it?

[spoiler=Thoughts on VRAINS 13]
- Ema goes to the hot dog stand, but neither Yusaku or Kusanagi know she is Ghost Girl, though that's on a need to know basis
- Ghost Girl is revealed to be a cyber treasure hunter, unravelling mysteries and sells footage of Playmaker to the frog and pigeon who has higher ups build them an editing suite. At least they'll be of some importance, though I found it amusing that they pretty much lost their bonuses because their scoop was deleted by Yusaku.
- That scoop title was a bit long, but oh well
- It appears that Kusanagi hasn't been getting much sleep due to deleting stuff regarding Playmaker. At least Yusaku offers to help
- blah blah blah, the report is basically a recap, blah

[spoiler=VRAINS 13]

  • Blatant recap episode of the last 3 months; not much to say about it.
  • Ghost Girl provides information for the scoop (yeah, long titles are bad), but doesn't matter because Yusaku decided to be an jabroni and delete it. (Well, delete it or else VRAINS will be flooded and then Yusaku will have to go back in there to solve sheet)
    • Now, did it ever occur to Yamamoto and his friend to back up their data in case stuff happened? (Or Yusaku just hacked into their editing programs and stuff)
  • Stuff about Ema going to hot dog stand, but no one knows that she's Ghost Girl; she doesn't know Yusaku is Playmaker and that Kusanagi's the one who got her in.

Next episode should HOPEFULLY be interesting. Probably going to be another Speed Duel or something; more Master Duels would be cool though.

As of right now, I find Ghost Girl to be a more charming and interesting female lead than Blue Angel. She's got computer skills and should be pretty decent at dueling, and can move much more freely and interact with more people. Plus, is not a goody two shoes or as emotionally fragile. Wouldn't have minded if she had been the one promoted instead of Blue Angel's image before the show began.....

As for the episode... I honestly skipped like 60% of it. It's not worth re-capping so soon.. Normally I'd put things on spoilers but this is a blatant recap, what else to say and why put it where people wouldn't read it?

At this time, we don't know how good of a duelist Ghost Girl is; that won't be known until next week. (That, and they do have their own issues as a pure build [which we can assume she will be using; not the hybrids], but this is a discussion better saved for the TCG area, not here). She might be decent, but we'll have to wait for it.

While a chunk of the episode was recap of the past three months, there was some other stuff (but mostly pertaining to Yusaku trying to cover his tracks in VRAINS, especially after the last episode). Shouldn't be much overall.
