Aika Akiyama / Aria

[spoiler=Aika Akiyama]

Name: Aika "Aria" Akiyama

Age: 18

Race: Human

Gender: Female

First YCM Appearance: Lore Online

[spoiler=Personality and Biography]

Aika, for the most part, is fairly complicated with her emotions. Back as a child, Aika was very quiet, and very shy. Spending most of her time reading books and practicing her music, Aika never spent much time around other kids or socializing. To top things off, Aika's home life was not something she would ever wish onto anyone else, but does her darnedest to keep this information to herself as much as possible. Unfortunately, this kind of information is very difficult to keep to yourself in the real world.

Labeled as a "Loner" and a "Weirdo" by pretty much everyone else in the class, Aika was subject to a lot of bullying and a lot of torment. When the wrong crowd finally found out about her home life, things only got worse and worse. With nobody to go to and nobody to open up to, things looked bad. When life seemed to be at its worst, something happened at the school. A code yellow that was all over the news. Confronted with the criminal, Aika finally stood up for herself, even if she wasn't really all that successful. When the police finally put an end to the crisis, Aika left the situation a changed person; for better and for worse.

A lot has happened since then, and because of all that Aika has changed gradually from the quiet, shy girl to someone... a lot more rambunctious. Aika has become a balloon of emotions that has become over-inflated, with a fuse shorter than she herself and a tendency to attempt to hide what's really going on. Aika can be a person you would rather tip-toe around depending on who you are and your personality.
Because of her past, Aika feels the need to be really tough; to be strong for herself and those around her. This also means that she's grown to be incredibly reckless because of her nature. Reckless, over-confident, and very energetic at times. Being reckless and quite dramatic at times does not mean she's a bad person. Aika genuinely cares for the people "close" to her, and makes a big effort to stand up for those who are being picked on or worse. She may have a short fuse, but knows how to restrain herself at least a LITTLE bit. Of course, a lot of this personality shift seems to be a lot more of an overcompensation than a self-improvement.

Aika generally does not rub the right way with: people striving for too much attention (jealousy may be a big part of this) and people who act like they're better than others, specifically herself. In other words, ego maaaayyy have a part in all of this. Just a little. Taking things a step further, Aika generally despises people who pick on others or get their kicks at someone else's expense. If you're a bully, you're gonna get it.

But really, let's put emotional problems aside from a moment. Aika's a very laid-back person at times; known for being casual to a point where some may take it as disrespectful. Laid-back also translates to "Pretty lazy" overall; hard work and labor that isn't fun isn't Aika's jam (and this applied to homework as well). She's a very fun-loving person, and really likes being around people that she enjoys hanging out with. When getting that sweet, sweet adrenaline rush isn't the activity of choice at the time, Aika loves to surround herself with people she likes and hopefully like her as well. Of course, there are always those times where Aika needs to get away and get in touch with the more... musical side of herself.

Overall, Aika has embraced the Lockdown. Compared to most players, Aika has a great enthusiasm for living in the world of Lore and enjoys most days. Granted, when the conversation turns to "when they get out", Aika generally tries to change the subject...

[spoiler=Appearance]

Standing at an AVERAGE FIVE FEET FOUR INCHES (and if you say otherwise you'll be missing some teeth) Aria expresses a spunky attitude through messy, short, curly, dark-gray/silver hair; a worn-out jacket that doubles as leather armor, work-pants, and steel-toed boots. By no means does the character look like it has the stature of someone who's trying to compensate for the kind of person they're not; in fact it looks more like they tried to make a rather accurate portrayal of themselves in the game.

Face-wise, Aria's not like... un-pretty or anything. With large, bright blue eyes; a round nose; thin lips; and the fact that maybe she looks a little younger than she actually is, she'd be a lot more attractive if it looked like effort was taken to make herself presentable. Through all the dirt scruff and snarky and/or tough expressions, there's a soft-hearted girl in there... maybe. Seriously, joke about the height and you'll regret it.

In real life (IRL as some may say), Aika is just as short; actually a little shorter than her character. With large, dark eyes, the familiar round nose and thin lips; the main difference is Aria's better-kept short, black hair compared to her character's messy, kind-of curly white hair. Her usual attire involves a cut-off jacket over a fitting gray long-sleeve with tight jeans torn at the knees, red sneakers, and a pair of big headphones around her neck.

[spoiler=Combat Info]

Category: Speed
Class: Corsair
Level: 45
Fighting Style: Aika's style is rather recognizable: in the fray as fast as possible, and take out the enemy before they know it. The strategy is minimal and the planning just as so. The results are usually mixed, and as such Aria's learned at least some restraint until the members of the guild that are able to tell her what do "Let loose the hounds" so to speak. Unfortunately, with her class and build, Aika generally has a very tough time being the absolute lead of the pack, and has seen a lot more success working with others and supplementing her abilities with the more hard-hitting class members.

Inventory:
  • Tough Girl's Coat : A tan, long-sleeved coat that Aria is never seen without. With what appears to be some leather pads stitched on at key places, Aria's coat is ready for battle as some sort of makeshift leather armor.
  • Haymaker's Day-Maker : A large musket-rifle with a heavy payload of damage, but a long reload speed.
  • Libretto Locket: An emerald necklace tucked away. Increases agility a little.

Sample Skills:

- Focus Shot
- Holster Shot
- Breaker Shot

Misc:

  • Aika's been a lead-singer and guitarist in her band "Cloud Knights"; granted that name keeps changing... along with the genre and some of its members.
  • Aika has a strange obsession with indie-rock music from North America, even though she can't actually speak english.
  • Aika has a hidden collection of old Medabots games and DVD's stashed underneath her bed.
  • Aika has never worn a dress.

[spoiler=VCR's Notes]

This is based off of Aria Ampilious, possibly my best character overall. The setting in question is a sort of SAO-style story, so to adapt this character to that setting I had to make a lot of changes to her background and nature, but a lot of it is still in line with her character. Her original appearance, on a different site, is a fantasy-setting. Her background stands as an orphaned girl with rough social skills, being too shy to really make friends and was bullied a lot because of it. Her background more or less parallels her's here, but with some difference. For one, her tough/rowdy nature is more because the other kids started looking up to her when she stood up to the criminals, so she started acting tough and strong to really start making friends. As well, there's a whole lot of messy stuff in her background and present character that I won't get into here for spoilers' sake.

Her themes lie around emotional health. She starts the RP more or less completely out of touch with her emotions, bottling everything up with a very... unhealthy outlet when things get very rough. The nature of her growth is supposed to work towards her own self confidence, and her own ability to open up with others and trust them. In a couple sentences this doesn't sound very good, but she has had many moments in her original RP that have been very difficult for me to write, just because I'll find myself choking up over what's going on. She's a rowdy a extremely fun character to write with a VERY foul mouth, and overall my favorite out of all of them.

Tadashi Nekome

[spoiler=Tadashi Nekome]

Name: Tadashi Nekome

Age: 16

Race: Human

Gender: Male

First YCM Appearance: A Certain Record of Life

[spoiler=Personality]

Tadashi is a very sociable person in a certain sense of the word; he has an air of confidence around him and has a likeable and respecting personality towards most people. He's a mature, intelligent student that understands that importance of first impressions and generally what most people like to see from someone in their interactions. He can be a nice and enjoyable person to be around if you're at the least on his neutral side.

Yet he's not someone many, if any, people have gotten to know. Most conversations go towards nothing and, oddly enough, nobody has gotten to know him. Many people can make guesses as to what kind of food he likes, or what music he enjoys; but no conversation has gotten terribly with Tadashi. Those that have attempted are regularly shrugged off and the topic shifted into something else. Those who have been persistent in trying to know him have been fairly rude about it and dismissed because of such. Yet something still stands out. Conversations with Tadashi feel... polished. Practiced. Maybe rehearsed. Being a person who knows the right thing to say at the right time is one thing; but consistency is one thing, and the quality of its delivery is another thing. If anyone knew better, or the specifics of his ability that he keeps under wraps, they would know this is partly because of his ability.

And because of his ability, Tadashi is someone who's someone where it's nice to be on their good side, and not so nice to be on their bad side. Overall, one could say he's a people person. The answer of if he's happy with this life is completely to himself; but some may not think so.

[spoiler=Appearance]

Tadashi is a fairly tall fellow, standing at 6'1", yet he's not particularly built and is rather thin. Tadashi's natural hair colour is mostly forgotten, even by people that have known him for a while, as he tends to get it dyed into the current iridescent blue coloration. His sea-foam eyes, however, are fairly natural in their colour. Other facial features of note are Tadashi's piercings of choice; usually large plugs. Tadashi dresses fairly unassuming yet stylish with more modern fashion. Tadashi normally wears tighter clothing (but not like super tight ya weirdo) in darker shades of gray; normally seen with a larger scarf and a nice pair of shoes. Tadashi does not have the appearance of one who is used to getting his hands dirty.

http://i.imgur.com/9WokRiJ.png?1

[spoiler=Biography]

Tadashi comes from a rich and fairly large family as the youngest of many brothers. His father invested most of life into politics, while his older siblings pursued careers in law of varying positions and success. While this was a family of espers of respectable levels, they never pursued combat or roles involving such. This typically strained family life, and even as a child Tadashi was typically picked on by his siblings while his parents were too busy to do anything. As his siblings pursued law, deception ran rampant in the family towards Tadashi. His brothers were developed mind-readers or some other select form of telepathy. Tadashi wasn't, and as the lowest-level Esper in his family, this did not bode well. In the end, this already was hurting Tadashi's social skills and how he would be interacting with others in school. With no real friend at home, and no real friend at school, Tadashi found himself alone for quite some time.

Moving through school, Tadashi's Esper powers developed more, yet not in the direction of directly reading minds. Tadashi's power was more focused on feelings and experiences; to share what another person was experiencing at that moment. Still attempting to match up with his brothers, Tadashi had to work hard at making sense of what another person truly felt and what their motives were. Conversations became less conversations and more experiments; learning what made people tick and how they responded. In the earlier grades, this made Tadashi's social life fairly hurting, as he was often an odd person to interact with. Yet, he still learned a lot of how people related with each other, and often times more about people than he would like to know. While Tadashi was clever in his school work, he was too busy using conversations as experimentation than anything. Yet, this experimentation weren't just fueled by his desire to be on the same level as his brothers; Tadashi wanted to know how to be close to someone, and figure out how to be friends with another person. As a naive child, Tadashi didn't really know he was going about it all wrong, and as he grew up he became a lot more cynical of what it meant to be friends with another person.

Applying this to his home-life, Tadashi found himself more and more isolated from other people. Instead of improving his interactions with his family, he found himself distancing himself from them and finding other ways of avoiding the negativity of his home life. As he transferred into Middle School, he began to dye his hair and his social interaction changed drastically. Going from the awkward kid who asked weird questions into someone attractive and even popular was a large switch, and most would not believe this was the same person. Yet, despite the sudden social status and popularity, Tadashi still found himself alone from others and away from anyone being close. This was a combination of his own past influencing his present, and a lack of desire to be close with anyone. Tadashi's own cynicism had grown quite deep.

Abilities/Skill:

Name: Open Book

Description: Allows Tadashi to focus on no more than 2 individuals within 10 meters of himself and see what they see, hear what they hear, and feel what they feel. Extends to emotions, but only shows what they're feeling; not of what they think or know. How long Tadashi can hold this focus depends on how many targets and how far they are; two targets at maximum distance will only last for no more than 30 seconds, while one target in close proximity can be for as long as ten minutes or more.

Level: 3

Misc:

Tadashi's non-combat focus of his abilities has given him more work with investigation and sometimes even interrogation as a lie-detector by those who understand Tadashi's abilities. In the dorm life, Tadashi is known as a skilled billiards player and if there's one place you can find him outside of his room, the library, or the cafeteria; it's near the billiards tables.

Dirk Rider

[spoiler=Dirk Rider]

Name: Dirk Rider

Age: 28

Race: Human

Gender: Male

First YCM Appearance: Golden Gate Empire

[spoiler=Personality]

If you couldn't tell already, this'll spell it out easy: Dirk's a loose cannon who lives by his own rules, and has an ego much larger than his pompadour. On top of his blatant chauvinism and incredibly self-centered attitude, Dirk also has a bit of an addictive personality and is often latched onto one thing or another; sometimes it's as harmless as coffee, sometimes it's something much worse. Dirk's also incredibly competitive when it comes to shows of strength and "Manliness". This, of course, would explain a lot of the bar-fights, while a lot of others would just be Dirk trying to find an outlet to let off some steam. It can't be said that Dirk really knows what it means to be close to anyone, or really what a real friendship looks like; much of his teenage-hood was spent doing what feels good and going with the flow to whatever satisfied his own desires. Nothing that really worked towards a strong relationship with any one person, or anything beyond a few one-night stands.

Getting the muck out of the way, this isn't to say that Dirk's necessarily a bad person. Sure he's a bit of an a****** most of the time (okay a lot of the time); but there was genuine interest in being a police officer so he could get the right thing done and get the bad guys in prison. Despite his track-record, Dirk still has a decent enough moral compass that he has a strong sense of wanting to do the right thing and make sure that justice will be served one way or another. Of course, despite his stubborn, thick-headed-ness in wanting to get things done his way, this is still accomplished one way or another, even if it doesn't work out in the long-run.

[spoiler=Appearance]

Standing at an even 6 feet tall, Dirk's a sight to behold. With his blonde hair styled in a show-y pompadour, side-burns framing his face, and a cigarette seemingly constantly sticking out of that smug grin on his face; Dirk wears his usual fashion of a faded, old leather jacket and faded, tight jeans with pride. Granted, this style will come across as mostly outdated to everyone he meets and who can blame them; high-top boots are more worn by goths now-a-days than anything, and who wears a fingerless glove on one hand anyways? But if there's one thing Dirk's got going for him, it's that this is an obsolete fashion that he owns as best as he can. Besides, new clothes are expensive anyways...

[spoiler=Biography]

Dirk grew up in a fairly rich family in a good part of town, but of course this lead to a fairly boring childhood. Not content to simply follow the rules and live a life of luxury, Dirk was very rebellious as a kid and teen and preferred to rather get into his own stuff, and deal with things his own way. His parents, of course, never liked the long rebellious streak their son got himself into, but there really wasn't much they could do about it. His father never took enough time to be with his son, and his mother was always too busy with work; and it's not like there were other siblings to keep time from drifting.

In his late teens, Dirk had a bad run-in with the cops; caught with a DUI and possession of some minor drugs. His friends got away, but Dirk himself was hauled off to the station. His parents never showed up to really bail him out. Given he was still technically a juvenile and that this was his first real offense, Dirk was placed in a teens-at-risk program under close supervision, and soon enough the career of being a police officer really stuck with him (the old movies he frequently watched really didn't hurt that either). Sooner or later, Detective Dirk Rider was roaming the streets looking for criminals to put behind bars.

Detective Rider was a loose cannon that bent all the rules and had only one code that he lived by: His own. Despite all the perps he managed to aprehend, this was real life and simply being successful at your job as a police officer wasn't enough; if you weren't properly doing all the work, then the office didn't want anything to do with you. Sometimes there simply wasn't enough evidence to justify his arrests, whether they were justified or not. So despite the results, the job really did not cut it out for him and he still wasn't allowed to do his own thing.

After losing his job, things went downhill and Dirk found himself in bar fight after bar fight. If the cops hadn't known him by name before, they sure as hell would now. After almost being hospitalized by a drop too close to alcohol poisoning, Dirk was approached by a mysterious man representing a mysterious company; said they had their eyes on him for a while now. Dirk was selected as one of many candidates for a new program to speed up the process of training new soldiers while also giving them access to... a wide arrange of new abilities. The program offered a healthy compensation for being a test subject that they would collect data from for most of Dirk's remaining life; and after not reading the fine print and being a poor drunkard who frequently got in bar fights, Dirk more than willingly signed up.

The experiments were almost a failure, and multiple times Dirk almost lost his life in surgery. But now, walking out a new man with a new ability, Dirk felt like he was given a new lease on life. The curious thing was, though, it wasn't long after the testing, experiments, and training that Dirk was handed a letter, inviting him to the first annual Secret Cup Tournament...

[spoiler=Combat Info]

Dust Rider: Simply calling this junker a "Pistol" or "Revolver" does not justify its... girth. The Dust Rider is a hand-cannon, plain and simple. A big pistol meant to get one job done: Launch specialized ammo that was almost miniature missiles than bullets and plant right in the stupid skulls of stupid dudes with stupid weapons. When lethal force is allowed, of course. But really, let's get the stats down low: The Dust Rider fires special rocket-propelled bullets; much larger than a regular bullet, but still small enough to fit inside basically an oversized pistol. The rocket-propelled part is to make sure the gun can be fired without too much kickback and still deliver and hefty punch in its package. Each bullet is explosive, but is too small for those explosions to even compare to that of a rocket launcher.

http://img14.deviantart.net/d885/i/2010/034/5/5/speed_painted_sci_fi_pistol_by_torvenius.jpg

Enhanced Physique: Thanks to the experiments, Dirk's strength and reflexes are boosted beyond that of a normal human's. Nothing utterly jaw-dropping, but definitely nothing normal to be seen here.
Cyber Stamina: With great strength comes great endurance. With abnormal strength comes abnormal stamina and endurance. Simply put, Dirk can take more of a beating than a normal human and still keep on going. Unfortunately, this doesn't include self-healing.
Hard Glow: This is where things get a little jaw-dropping. Dirk appears to have the ability to bind and manipulate photons into molecular structures with a solid presence. This ability allows Dirk to create some very limited "Light" constructs; typically power gloves to beat up targets, or a light-sword of some kind. This power, of course, has very limited ranged capabilities, and the constructs created are not as strong as the real metal-and-electronics deal, yet they'll still pack a punch. Often literally.
Neon Burst: Another power that seems to be in the vein of Hard Glow, yet in its own path. Neon Burst let's Dirk overclock his reflexes, strength, and stamina in a sort of super-adrenaline blast for a short period, but with a real rough crash afterward. Best used strategically or as a last-ditch effort, Neon Burst is the definition of high-risk high-reward and still has its good uses.

[spoiler=VCR's Notes]
This is a really fun character that I loved to write for. He's a classic 80's action-hero dude-bro that had a lot of opportunity for funny moments, heroic moments, and even some surprisingly touching moments. His growth isn't anything significant or as thought-out as Aria, but he's one of my favorites in terms of design and just... being very enjoyable to write.

Saul

[spoiler=Saul]

Name: Saul

Age: Unknown

Race: Titan - An ancient race of super-human creatures in both stature and ability; ageless and magical, Titans are said to have roamed the earth thousands of years ago.

Gender: Male

First YCM Appearance: Golden Gate Empire

[spoiler=Personality]

Humorless, stoic, and generally unpleasant; Saul has no time for nonsense. After spending so much time in solitude, Saul is not one to be used to socializing or really have any appreciation for it. Besides his consistent cold shoulder, Saul has a complete and utter disdain for humans. Saul sees humans as evil, corrupted creatures who deserve to be cleansed from the surface of the planet, and sees himself as the last surviving member of the superior race. Blatant racism aside, Saul is also known to be rational and very patient; willing to seek the wisest course of action in his battles; yet he's also stubborn to his own values and beliefs. That said, he's not an evil man; he does have a strict set of morals. But he is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, which he believes to be righteous and justified.

[spoiler=Appearance]

Saul stands at the average height for a Titan; around 7' 5" with a very well-built and scar-covered body. Covering the top of Saul's head is a long mane of platinum-blonde hair, complimenting the piercing gaze of his amber eyes. While it said that Saul is very old, even for a Titan; his face looks to be that of a man around his mid-forty's with an air of authority and intimidation. Saul normally wears an ornate short, unbuttoned black robe to show his chiseled torso; and complimented by well-fitting cloth pants. Strength-wise, Titans are incredibly strong and durable beings; being able to lift around 1-ton objects at most and sprint at olympic levels. It's no wonder the rest of humanity saw these things as threats.

[spoiler=Biography]

Titans have been gone for a long time. As a child, Saul was prince of his family's nation and next in line for the throne. However, things went sour as war after war broke out against the human nations; humans who feared the Titans for their power and their strength. Hunted one by one, the Titans were driven to extinction by the humans. Sacrificing their lives, Saul's parents ensured that their son would survive and live to tell their story. That was the last that Saul had seen of his parents.

Since then, Saul has hidden in the mountains of southern China seeking peace and solitude; away from humans and away from his memories. Even from there, he witnessed many wars and a lot of death; from the mongols and further on. Every so often, someone stumbled across Saul; some looking for help in the wilderness, and others looking to end his life. Each time, Saul was driven further into solitude. Over the years, the legend of the Titans went from history, to legend, to myth, until it was forgotten from the minds of man. However, this wasn't long lived.

In a swift attack, covert-ops soldiers managed to capture and detain Saul; taking him to an unknown facility to be tested. There, Saul's hatred and anger seemed to only grow. It was here that Saul was offered an ultimatum by a shadowy figure: Win the Secret Cup Tournament, and gain back all that was lost; if not, then he should expect to live the remainder of his days in a tortured state as a lab rat. With no other choice, Saul was forced to enter to the Secret Cup Tournament; however, earning back what was lost is not as high on the list of priorities as revenge.

[spoiler=Combat Info]

The Nail of Sephirot: An old, two-handed sword that measures at roughly 4-5 feet of length. The blade itself is angled very slightly so that the base at the hilt is just slightly wider than that of the tip. The tip of the blade is flattened square, and the metal itself is comprised of an alloy made primarily of depleted uranium for that of a mass and hardness far beyond that of any normal sword, with the blade edges covered in a steel alloy. The blade itself is heavily enchanted and covered in many ancient runes; granting it near-indestructibility and the ability to superheat itself without damaging itself.

Razeil's Cleansing: From his palm, Saul can generate a searing beam of light of great strength that can be held for a short time.
Gabriel's Healing: A blessing spell that heals some wounds and grants Saul brief boosts to his strength and ability. Can only be used once in a battle.
Michael's Rage: Summons a great pillar of flames in front of Saul that moves forward away from him for about 20 meters before dissipating.
Zaphkiel's Strength: A flash-step move with Saul's blade that grants incredible strength and magnifies the firey ability of Saul's blade both for a very brief amount of time; enough for a single strike. Has a maximum range of 10 feet.

[spoiler=VCR's Notes]

Originally one of the main antagonists from one of my own settings/fictions, Saul is another one of my favorite characters. In his original setting he's a fearless tyrant; here, he's a Jaded, Buff, Grumpy Racist Grandpa. One might think that a character with a very limited sense of humor is difficult to write for and be entertaining; but really, it only makes the humor that much better. Again, simple growth themes to work in and nothing significant, but definitely a really fun character to write for.

Tora and Hiroto Mori

[spoiler=Tora Mori]

Name: Tora Mori

Age: 19

Race: Human

Gender: Female

First YCM Appearance: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Skybound Fortune

[spoiler=Personality]

Tora is a person who loves her work. She loves tinkering, working with machines, learning how they tick, fixing problems, and being engrossed in her work. Tora has a lot of patience, a lot attention span, and creative knack for problem solving and puzzles. Of course, that's Tora in her element. Outside the shop, Tora is typically quiet and polite in unfamiliar situations, and boisterous, loud, and energetic when she's much more comfortable. She's not a tomboy per se, but she certainly is not nearly as lady-like as other girls tend to be. Tora has a soft spot for those that are close to her, and always makes an effort to be the friend that she wants, like her dad had always taught her.

Of course, that's not to say Tora is all sunshine and daisies. While Tora is a great problem solver with machines and puzzles, she's incredibly flaky in more serious situations; especially those involving real people. Tora appreciates a simple life of her work and is utterly terrified of making the wrong decisions at critical moments. This makes Tora anxious and afraid, and causes her to crack under pressure very easily. Tora appreciates her comfort zone too much, and this does not bode well for her.
Alignment: Satisfaction; only because of her brother.

[spoiler=Appearance]

Tora stands at an average height (5' 6") with a slim build. Granted, don't let her build fool you; this girl's built hard as a rock! Tora's wardrobe is fairly casual across the board; her typical attire involves baggy jeans with plenty of paint stains, zip-up hoodies, T-shirts, and heavy shoes. Tora can often be seen wearing coveralls after work; typically when she's too lazy too change out of them. Tora's duel-disk is a beat-up older model similar in appearance to the first ones Kaiba Corp. made years ago (she claims it's "vintage"); but clearly not an original with plenty of work done on it. Her D-wheel sports a heavily customized body; one that clearly shows plenty of tinkering done.

[spoiler=Biography]

Tora grew up with her older brother in the lower levels of Center, Hiroto Mori. Tora only barely knew her parents, as their work often being away from home for long periods of time. Tora never got to see much of her parents, but spent her time with her father during the weekends. During the rest of the week, Hiroto would look after Tora. Hiroto was a well-known semi-professional Turbo Duelist, and while he had the skills to enter the professional circuit and leave the underground circuits behind, he still lacked the finances to really participate in the bigger tournaments. Hiroto always took Tora with him to his duels, and always let her hang out with the pit crew. It was here that Tora began to gain a knack for mechanical work, and often spent her time eagerly helping the crew keep Hiroto's D-Wheel up to snuff.

As she got older, Tora started working at a body and repair shop for D-Wheels that was run by the same man that ran Hiroto's pit crew as well as sponsored Hiroto for his tournament appearances. Tora worked her way up in the ranks, and swiftly became a full-time mechanic for both the body shop and Hiroto's pit crew.

Of course, Tora had often expressed her own interests to become a skilled Kadoken duelist. On the side, Hiroto often helped teach Tora Monsuta-Style; but she was never able to get the proper hang of it. "Each monster in your deck has its own personality, it's own unique spirit," Hiroto often told her. "You need to align yourself with their feelings; be flexible in how you feel so you can attack as one." Of course, Tora had a difficult time wrapping her mind around this concept. Regardless, life was happy and simple

Of course, the happy, simple lives do not last. When the second Zero Reverse occurred, Tora's brother had been caught near that area; the same area that her parents had also worked in. Since the explosion, not much had been said in terms of body counts or identified casualties. All that Tora knew was her brother was near that area, and that he has not been heard from since. Tora, since then, has stuck with Hiroto's old pit crew, keeping the body shop alive as a business. Unfortunately, familiar faces drifted away since Tora's passing and it wasn't long until the shop had to be closed down. Now, Tora works as a sort of free-lance mechanic in her own garage as much as she can, hoping life can be as simple and happy as it once was.

[spoiler=Hiroto Mori]

Name: Hiroto Mori

Age: 26

Race: Nanoroid

Gender: Male

First YCM Appearance: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Skybound Fortune

[spoiler=Personality]

Hiroto was a very likable fellow. Despite taking part in the underground duel arena, Hiroto treated every one of his opponents with respect and dignity. Hiroto's caring attitude towards others and charming demeanor earned him a great amount of respect in the lower levels of Center. Of course, amidst the charm and respect is a well-established thrill-seeker. Hiroto loved pushing himself to his limits; finding the next big stunt to pull; seeing to what extremes he can take his dueling.

Of course, this isn't Hiroto, at least, not quite. This Hiroto has a hidden side to him; at least one he hides from other's. Beneath the charming smile lies a tainted, sadistic heart that wishes to frighten and inflict pain upon others. Sadistic, masochistic, hating, angry. These are all fires that burn bright in this Hiroto; the thrill of their screams, the delight in their fear; the satisfaction in their pain. The flames only grow bigger and brighter...
Alignment: Previously strong Satisfaction

[spoiler=Apperance]

Hiroto is a tall individual; standing at 6'3" tall with a well-built body. Hiroto's usual outfit typically includes well-fitting jeans with a leather jacket over a plain T-shirt. Hiroto's duel-disk has a similar appearance to Tora's; but with a much cleaner, well-put together appearance and a dark red paint job. Hiroto sports a similar Duel-Runner to Tora's, but with a black and yellow paint job.

[spoiler=Biography]

Hiroto was once a great duelist in Center's underground rings. While his parents were gone, he spent his days looking after his younger sister and competing. Their parents never really knew what went on, yet they never quite asked. Truth be told, Tora spent more time with their father than Hiroto spent with both parents combined. After a few years, Hiroto moved out of their home and Tora went with him. He continued to compete in underground duels, but became a popular name among the lower-Center duelists.

Hiroto was a proud member of satisfaction, yet never really chose to wear the distinguished outfits. Truth be told, Hiroto chose these loyalties in the name of community; to give the poor a voice and bring people together. While he would have loved to do this in the pro circuit, he was never able to afford the entry fee in order to compete. As such, he remained in the underground rings, competing for much less money, yet still bringing entertainment to the poor in the district.

Of course, that was until the fateful day of the second Zero Reverse. Here, Hiroto happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course, it appears that he has returned now, safe and sound, but something's off...

[spoiler=VCR's Notes]

I love these characters, I must say. Between Tora, the hesitant grease monkey that just wants life to be like it once was, and the undead entertainer brother who's now a sadistic psychopath. There was a lot of growth and development I wanted to do between these two, however mostly in Tora. Tora had dynamics and themes rooted in growth and moving forward; recovering from a traumatic experience and taking the next step in life to move on. She's anxious, kind of cowardly, and a bit rough on the social end, and these are all qualities I loved about her and really looked forward to writing. I'll most likely be bringing her back in another RP.

Yu Yamauchi

[spoiler=Yu Yamauchi]

Name: Yu Yamauchi

Age: 31

Race: Human

Gender: Female

First YCM Appearance: Aethertouched

[spoiler=Personality]

"Cold" and "Abrasive" are words that can be used to describe Yu, yet she is not a wholly unpleasant person to hang around with, despite what her partner says. Yu is, in fact, a very laid back and quiet person. Not quiet because she's shy or socially awkward, mind you. Yu is a woman of few words and general keeps her conversations "efficient". Yu is not one for heavy social interaction, and decides to remain mostly aloof.

Getting to know Yu more, you'll find the lack of humor... boring. By now, it becomes clear that Yu is not so much abrasive as she is mostly apathetic towards most things. Cracking a joke at Yu will warrant no more than an annoyed sigh; asking her what her favorite food grants the answer of the one that offers the most nutrients. Yu seems to fit the persona of the "Cool Person" a little too well; unaffected by a lot around her and holding no easily observable passion.

Yet, there is a drive to what Yu does. She hangs around someone that she would describe "Utterly insufferable" if you were to ask her, yet has his back whenever he needs help. Yu may seem stark and lifeless on the outside, yet the deeper you dig, the more you're bound to find...

[spoiler=Biography]

If you have to know, we lived in [REDACTED] for a few years. Yes, I was still young when the tsunami hit. The power plant was hit hardest, probably, and the reactor melted down. My family and I made it out alive, but my parents both died of radiation poisoning a few weeks later. No, we were only living in a survival shelter. Correct, I have no other surviving family members.
[recording goes quiet for a minute]
I met Maurice a few years later. I had to learn to live on the streets and started stealing. Bumped into me; looked like he was running away from someone. He was just a kid back then; well, we both were. Didn't look like he had anyone looking out for him so I decided to help. I've looked after him since like a brother.
So how would you describe your relationship now? Business? Did you wind up together?
Nothing romantic, if that's what you're asking. But yes, we still work together.
Work together doing what?
I think that's something we would like to keep to ourselves.
Miss Yamauchi, I would advise you to answer the questi--
[Recording ends]

[spoiler=Combat Info]

Soul Manifestation: A simple, gold ring.

Fission: The ring grants Yu this ability. Upon physical contact, Yu can violently disrupt an object's atomic structure. On the basic levels, this means that she can turn small objects into bombs. With more complex objects, such as people, Yu is unable to make anything... Explode as easy, per se, however it does invoke some surprising effects. An action such as a poke may carry the force of a strong punch in terms of pain. Grabbing someone's limb will cause great pain, and prolonged or strong grips will cause immense pain and serious injury. Larger simple objects (inanimate) will follow the same route of becoming explosive, however the mass of the object determines how long it may take for the matter to destabilize. Otherwise, the ability's effect is limited to what is contacting Yu's skin.

This ability can also be used disrupt the air around Yu; creating immense heat, but can only be done for so long as the air is being rendered un-breathable around her.

[spoiler=VCR's Notes]

This character has seen multiple versions in different RPs; always a villain, but ranging from sane, to subtly psychotic, to blatantly off her rocker, but her combat design has remained the same. Yu's original version was in a post-apocalyptic RP as an older woman who lived before the world "ended". Her backstory is a tragic tale of running from bandits with a childhood friend, who was eventually raped and murdered before her eyes before she, herself, killed the bandits herself with her now-manifested ability of just frickin' messing people up by touching them. From then she became an outcast and known as a witch. Her outward personality wasn't very sociable, but she was a good person to others and would work with the main party. That is, until they got her to the nuclear powerplant in the RP's location where she would attempt to blow it up herself and everyone else out of a crazy ideal that they were all actually in hell and that this would free them. She's a character I'm always fascinated to work with and come up with new designs as a villain, and definitely one I want to keep using.

Hiraku Tsukino

[spoiler=Hiraku Tsukino]

Name: Hiraku Tsukino

Age: 16

Race: Human

Gender: Male

First YCM Appearance: Yu-Gi-Oh! Skies

[spoiler=Personality]

Hiraku is a perfectionist who places high standards upon himself. An ambitious, hard worker; Hiraku stands for nothing less than perfection for his school work, and for his dueling. Hiraku is a friendly person, though. While he may hold high standards upon himself, he's a genuinely enjoyable person with an up-beat attitude, perhaps leaning more on the eccentric side. Of course, his high standards get in the way of closer friendships sometimes, which leads to maybe a more selfish personality at times. Hiraku is a good kid with much expected of him, and while selfish at times, he does care for the people around him. Being on the high honors roll may make his life busy, Hiraku can still find time to take a break now and then.

[spoiler=Appearance]

His appearance is that image above. I could get into height and weight and stuff; but the weight's going to be mostly irrelevant during the entire course of the RP and is, thus, kind of useless information for what kind of plot/interactions there will be. I mean, you can totally see he's a skinny fella with a totally innocent expression and probably stands at like 5' 6" or some biz; not that anyone has any kind of easy time imagining what these heights actually will look like, but you know, it's there so you can't blame me. Anyways, if you're reading this, I assume you have eyes with which you can see the image. Also, his eyes are probably not red; more of a gray/brown. Just take that red as... artistic liberties.

[spoiler=Biography]

Hiraku is an honor's roll student; often top of his class, but not without competition now and then. Hiraku comes from an upper-middle class family as an only child. His parents, knowing how intelligent their child was, have him slated for "great things", and even intend for him to one day work for control to help improve the city. Hiraku's father always said that there was a lot the city needed to be improved, and that Hiraku could one day pull it off.

Throughout school, Hiraku does what he can to make friends; but ultimately has difficulty thanks to his schedule and his school work. But, he still does his best to make time for friends, and to make time for dueling.

Misc.

  • Hiraku often sneaks out to participate in local Duel Monsters tournaments
  • Hiraku is known to have a tremendous sweet-tooth; but loves salty food just as much.
  • Hiraku may or may not have too many video games.

Ide Takayama

[spoiler=Ide Takayama]

Name: Ide Takayama
Age: 42
Sex: Male

Appearance:

Ide stands at 6'2" tall with a fit, muscular build. He has a strong face with a wide jaw, high cheek-bones, and piercing, intense eyes. A couple thin scars run vertically along his face; two across his right eye and one across his mouth. His most striking feature is his head full of "hair" that runs down to his knees if worn down. His "hair" is comprised entirely of electrical wires with an even mix of red, blue, and green wires that are all stripped at the ends, revealing exposed copper tips.

Ide is rarely seen in casual attire. Typically, on the streets or when conducting business, he is typically wearing a navy-blue suit and vest with a white button-down shirt and a green tie. His entire outfit is meticulously neat and his shoes are polished to a perfect shine.

Personality:

Ide is the salt of the earth. Intelligent, blunt, and tough-as-nails. From years of criminal and business practices, from clawing his way from the bottom through blood, sweat, and tears, Ide has been molded into a very patient, yet merciless person who doesn't care if the ends really do justify the means. He builds his network of partners and underlings on a foundation of trust and care for each other, yet not without the looming threat of what happens if they were ever to betray that trust.

Biography:

You know, it's funny when you really think about these hero schools. On the outside it's all 'bout teachin' the next generation how to be heroes, how to use their talents to protect the greater good and blah-blah-blah. They'll go on for hours with that horse-sheet I'll tell ya. But no, the funny part? The funny part is how it's all just teachin' kids how to fight for the government. I swear it's like they took the military and just slapped a new coat o' paint on it, right?

But really, what are they teachin' these kids that needs so much money? What reasons to fight for? That's a load o' sheet. You can't just teach someone why to fight, you either got that or you don't. The funk's their tuition, ten grand a year? Twenty? Is that comin' out o' the student's pockets or our's?

I mean, why do we even need that there in the first place? What could they teach there that I can't just learn myself? Look, I grew up in the streets with nothin' to my name but the shirt on my back and a mother willin' to fight tooth and nail to care for me, rest her soul. My quirk? It's not even that great. I mean, it's bad-ass now and let me tell you I could mop the floor with any one o' those prep-school pussies and their "next gen quirks". But like, imagine all this on my head... but like, it only goes down to my neck. It's gotta grow in, and what am I gonna do 'til then to fight, headbutt people?

All this hero business? It's all just to pump up these youngsters, make 'em feel so much better 'bout themselves while given' them a fat paycheck for doin' nothin'. And in return? The population gets to feel like everythin's hunky-dory, like how the world's so much better for everyone 'cause of them. 'Nother load of horse-sheet that is. Nothin' was ever easy for me. I got the dealt one o' the worst hands you can get in this country, but did I back down? No sir, I had to learn to fight or die tryin', and buddy? I learned to fight.

And now I got a crew, I got people I can trust. People with reasons to fight, and people who know how to fight, and we carved our place in this funking country with our own two hands.

And you know? I learned all that without some fancy prep school. What good are they for anyways, if they aren't makin' anything better for the little guy, for people that have it like I had it? Nothin', that's what.

And nothin's what they'll be when I'm done with 'em.

Quirk: Wiring - Ide's hair is comprised of extra strong electrical-wiring where each wire can be independently controlled. Electrical currents can be run through the tips, and electricity can either be taken or put into whatever they come into contact with.

Kenta Nakamura

[spoiler=Kenta "Desperado" Nakamura]

Name: Kenta "Desperado" Nakamura

Age: 26

Sex: Male

Appearance: Kenta stands a little on the shorter side at 5'6" with a buff build. He has a youthful face with a narrow jaw and thin eyebrows, each with a slight hook at the ends. Kenta has jet-black hair with a yellow streak died through the front, styled in a large and perpetual pompadour. His eyes are typically not seen as he's often wearing sunglasses, usually the spiky, triangular variety.

Kenta's notable features are his massive "guns", so to speak. His fore-arms are both twice as wide as his biceps with proportionally large hands to go with them. His attire is usually bridging far into the "informal" territory, as he wears tight, leather pants, designer shoes, and a flashy vest with dragon designs and nothing underneath. Kenta has complex full-sleeve tattoos depicting various men with fire-arms, smoke drifting from their barrels and coiling around them, forming the shape of different women.

Personality: Fool-hardy, reckless, and so completely full of himself it's overflowing. If someone were to assume that Kenta cared more for himself than most people around him, they would be correct, though this is not a high bar to cross over. Beyond his indulgences, Kenta shows such a lack of concern for other people that even the people closest to him, those that he works with and for, are only listened to because that's where the money comes from. Otherwise, Kenta looks to take the route of easy-living as much as he can, and if that means killing a few, maybe a lot, of people along the way, then so be it.

Biography: Growing up as your typical, orphaned street-rat, Kenta had no family or education to speak of. As a kid he made a living stealing and getting his hands on whatever scraps he can find. As a teen, he only got by through the strength of his quirk, building his reputation as a cold-blooded killer and working his way up in a gang. Soon enough, the "Jaku Jack-Knifes" were the talk of the town and one of the most feared gangs in their district, and Kenta was on top of it all.

This was short-lived, however. Word soon reached a big-time crimelord a few districts over who paid Kenta's gang a visit. The "war" was embarrassingly short-lived, and it wasn't long until all of Kenta's thugs were either killed, beaten to a pulp, or chased out of the city. Everything he had fought for was short lived, and in the wake of his defeat Kenta sought to take as much money as he could and run, but he was quickly found.

Instead of being killed, that crimelord offered Kenta a job as his top muscle. "You've got talent, kid," he had said. "And a strong quirk to boot. But you're lazy, you lack discipline, and don't think things through. You hired cowards to work for you-- surrounded yourself with weak, desperate low-lifes who tried to cut and run as soon as the first sign of trouble hits. But I think you're more than that. I think you can make a real difference in this godforsaken world, and I want to see that happen."

Kenta might not have believed in the goals that Ide Takayama had presented, but it was a job he wasn't about to back down. Since then, Kenta Nakamura has gone from being a feared name on the streets to a name you hoped you never heard.

Quirk: Blunderbuss - Instead of normal bones in the middle of Kenta's fore-arms, he has cannons whose barrels extend and fire from the palms of his oversized hands. These cannons, if firing blanks, ignite an explosive substance Kenta secretes at the back of the gun's barrels that packs a destructive punch. These cannons, of course, can be loaded with whatever he (literally) can get his hands on, often to gruesome effect depending on what that is.

Quick facts about Blunderbuss:

- The cannons themselves are made of iron, which extends to the bones in his biceps as well. This makes for Kenta having heavy arms and, as a result, a killer upper-body strength.

- The explosion of the cannons is influenced by his diet. Having a meal that is high in alcohol can result in stronger, more volatile explosions, while something high in magnesium might lend itself to a much brighter explosion.

- The cannon can be fired many times in a single fight, but extended use will weaken the discharges with each shot if done too many times.

Yume Kari

[spoiler=Yume Kari]

Name: Yume Kari

Age: 19

Sex: Female

Appearance: Image

Yume stands at 5'7" with a thin build. She has a soft, pretty face broken by her deep, black eyes contrasted with solid white pupils and irises (a physical mutation of her quirk). She has a full head of dark reddish-brown hair and is typically seen wearing rather high-end fashion, but her most iconic outfit has thigh-high boots with short booty-shorts and a crop-top.

Personality:

Yume is a humorless, manipulative, untrusting and barely trustworthy person. Around most people she is cold, sarcastic, cutting, and presents a very jaded, cynical view of the world. When she does joke, or laugh at anything, it shows a very dark sense of humor. All of this is to say that Yume is not the first person someone thinks of to invite to a party-- that is, unless they want to crash that party.

Biography:

For the entirety of her childhood and highschool career, since her quirk had manifested, Yume had never had an honest friendship. Having grown up in a rich household with a CEO father, Yume had been a very lonely child who never had much time with anyone besides the maids and butlers that were always on call. Once her quirk had manifested, she had started to learn how to influence others into spending more time with her and liking her more. Eventually, she had tried to use her quirk on her parents, however her parents already being telepathic thanks to their own quirks, they had quickly realized what she was capable of doing. So instead, they sent her off to a private boarding school where she would be properly supervised.

This didn't change anything, however. Through school her practices had continued and grown more grand in scale with each passing week. Soon enough she was the most popular girl in school with a report card of unearned straight A's and a whole suite of scholarships and opportunities. The school was right under her thumb, and she had gone to great lengths to ensure that she would not be ousted for her actions. Of course, this was not to last. Soon enough someone had slipped out of reach of her watchful eye and the police investigated the potential of a student illegally abusing their quirk to manipulate an entire school of people. Despite her best efforts, they had taken measures to ensure that they would not fall victim, and during her sophomore year Yume was arrested and sent to a juvenile detention center where she was kept in isolation 24/7.

One year later and Yume's cell was unlocked and opened when it was not scheduled to be. The officers all told her that she was "free to go", that a certain individual had offered to take her under their custody for a "working internship" to help rehabilitate her. On that day, Yume had met Ide Takayama and was given the opportunity to work with him as a business partner, that he had taken notice of her talents and had a need for someone like her in his future plans. Just like everyone else, Yume had tried to manipulate Ide, but found herself failing around every turn. Under normal circumstances, this would have angered her, but here it simply intrigued her. Yume accepted the proposal and now works with Ide in his "business".

Quirk: Inception - Yume's quirk allows her to manipulate a person's sensory input as well as put thoughts into people's heads. The vividness of these illusions as well as how persuading and self-thought these manipulations is directly proportional to Yume's proximity to her target, with direct contact leading to perfectly vivid and indistinguishable thoughts and visions. Yume's quirk only works on people she directly focuses on, but as a talented multi-tasker, is able to create and manage unique illusions for up to three different people at a time. Any more people than that means they all would have to see the same illusion. Lastly, while Yume's quirk allows her to manipulate a person's mental input, she has no control over their actions or knows what that person is thinking, and as such has to have a good understanding of people in general to make effective use of her quirk.

Misc:

- Yume always carries a gun into combat situations.

Kaya Adachi

[spoiler=Kaya Adachi]

Name: Kaya Adachi

Age: 23

Sex: Female

Appearance: Image

Kaya's natural, normal appearance is one that she can hardly remember, and the above image represents how she is most usually seen. In this form, Kaya stands at an imposing 6'5" with a lanky, yet solid build. Her natural hair-colour is black and her natural eye colour is a bright amber.

Personality:

Kaya's typical demeanor is quiet, subdued, depressing, and typically careless of others. While she shows a great amount of concern and emotion towards those she cares for, typically at best the reaction someone would get is apathetic and unmotivated. Kaya is, for the majority of the time, not a happy person, and when she isn't deep in the mire of depression she shows a short temper that can spark a furious anger. In her best moods, she displays complete neutrality to the point of numbness.

Biography:

Kaya had been given everything she could ask for to live a happy, healthy life. Caring parents, financial security, a good neighborhood, and a good school to go to. Despite all of this good fortune, she was never able to fully appreciate or take advantage of any of this, all because of her own quirk.

Since her quirk's manifestation, Kaya was seen as a "problem child". Through early grade school, she was seen as a bully and a delinquent. In high school, there was an incident involving the death of another student, and Kaya was at the center of this.

After this incident, Kaya's quirk was fully examined and she was transferred to a ward for being deemed "too dangerous" for civilian life. On paper she was given a comfortable life with regular therapy and help to come to terms with her quirk. In reality she was constantly tested upon, living in a tightly secured room in a building that was more like a prison than anything.

This went on for a few years until she was given release by a certain benefactor and his associate who helped make the impossibility of her freedom a possibility. Since then she has provided services for Ide Takayama's business. In return, she's offered the proper opportunity to come to terms with her quirk, control it, and live a much more free and healthy lifestyle with a proper goal: helping reform a society that failed her and would have left her to rot in a cell for the rest of her life.

Quirk: Empathoni - Kaya's quirk is a transformative-mutation quirk. The emotions of people around her, particularly negative emotions (including her own), are channeled through her and causes her to transform into increasingly more monstrous forms. The more intense her own emotions and the emotions of those around her, the bigger/stronger/more-durable she becomes-- and because these emotions are channeled through her, the more irrational and uncontrollable she becomes as well. Minor traits in her transformation include horns and claw-like nails, while her more monstrous and intense forms include, but are not limited to, more eyes, longer hair, an additional finger on each hand, and in very, very extreme cases: additional limbs. The colour of her skin reflects the primary emotion she feels and/or is channeling: red with anger, purple with sadness, and blue with fear.
