Theme

Make a generic Scale 9+ monster

Card A

Cardianl Jewel Golem

Level 8 | EARTH | Rock | Pendulum | Effect

Scale 9

2800/2800

PE: If your other Pendulum Zone is empty: you can place this card in your other Pendulum Zone. This card gains the following effects, depending on the Pendulum Zone it is in:

@Left Pendulum Zone: This card's Pendulum Scale is equal to the number of cards in your hand, You can discard 1 card; banish 1 card from your hand or that is face-up on the field.

@Right Pendulum Zone: You can target 1 card in your Graveyard; Shuffle it into the Deck, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy the card in your other Pendulum Zone instead.

You can only use each effect of "Cardinal Jewel Golem" once per turn.

ME: If this card is Pendulum Summoned, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects as long as you have 2 cards in your Pendulum Zones. If this card battles: you can draw 1 card at the end of the Damage Step. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and resolve this effect.

Card B

djinn_delegator_of_rituals_by_bdsceptyr-

Djinn Delegator of Rituals

Level 8 | DARK | Fiend | Ritual | Pendulum | Effect

Scale 9

2900/0

PE: During the End Phase, if this card was placed in the Pendulum Zone this turn: You can add 1 of your banished DARK monsters to your hand. During either player's Main Phase: You can activate this effect, Ritual Summon this card from the Pendulum Zone, by sending 3 monsters (1 each from your field, your hand and your Deck) with the same Type to the Graveyard whose total Levels equal exactly 8. You can only use each effect of "Djinn Delegator of Rituals" once per turn.

ME: You can Ritual Summon this card with the Pendulum Effect of "Djinn Delegator of Rituals". When this card is Special Summoned, you can negate the effects of 1 other face-up card currently on the field. While this Ritual Summoned card is face-up on field, neither player can Special Summon exactly 1 monster at a time, except for Ritual Monsters. If this card is Tributed, or if this card in its owner's control is destroyed or banished by a card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

This should've been done yesterday, but I was busy starting on Pokemon Moon (and things related to spring courses pissing the hell out of me today). But yeah, let's get this over with so we don't extend the Postseason any further than needed.

Card A

Well, there is no precedent for cards that activate when they're in a specific Pendulum Zone, but the idea can certainly work. Basically, it's either a regular Scale 9 monster w/out drawbacks, cycles out cards in the Graveyard and saves itself (right) or potentially a 0-5/6, depending on hand size (and can banish stuff). I admit that it's an interesting concept though.

There's also the fact that it has blanket immunity to the opponent's effects with both Scales intact, which is somewhat worrying; however, you either need another copy of this card to even P-Summon or do things via Pendulum Turn (make one Scale 10) and then get this out. Other effect is fine.

(Going to assume it's supposed to say Cardinal, not Cardianl, but minor stuff)

Card B

OK, we have Ritual Pendulums now.

First of all, it permanently negates a card when summoned; alright, that's not too bad (discounting the fact this can be Pendulum/Ritual Summoned again). There's also the "inverse floodgate" thing (basically "promote Pendulum spam" except Rituals), but that only works if it's actually R-Summoned. It's basically a end game retriever that gets stuff for DARK decks (ideally would work with the other Djinns if you banish them for summoning) and can R-Summon itself again.

To be fair, I don't really see any potential Decks that can do it, outside of the Djinns themselves [you'll have to use Disserere without question (is he even run) and either of the Level 3 and 4s] if you run it pure; if teched in with stuff, I suppose you could do something]. Granted, I originally read this card's summon effect as same Type as this card, but even though you can play this freely, not really seeing a Deck that will use its Pendulum-Ritual effect. I mean, you also have Contract with the Abyss to summon this, so that works, I guess.

tl;dr, on-summon negate and reverse floodgate if Ritual Summoned; negation otherwise.

Stats on both of them are fine.

===

Card A: Changes between the Pendulum Scales if necessary with variable effects, and blanket immunity if P-Summoned and your scales are intact.

Card B: Inverse floodgate (err, should I call it one for non-Pendulum / Rekindling / Inferno Reckless decks?), recovers DARK monsters on the turn you activate it [chains whenever you set it normally or via effect] and R-Summons itself from the Pendulum Zone. (CWFD does have a similar thing though; not sure if it applies to Rituals too, but should be okay)

======

I don't know, card A has a better usage factor overall and shouldn't be too bad in the long run. Its immunity is of some concern, yes, but you need to have Scales protected and actually have a high enough Scale to do so; which again, requires another copy of self or you use Pendulum Turn.

B has that floodgate effect, but that requires that it's R-Summoned and because it's a Pendulum, you have to summon it again via its effect (which I don't see happening too often with that requirement). It's basically Djinn support (and an actual in-theme boss).

Card A's getting vote this time for usage (both cards are generally okay in terms of balance), which means AEZ wins this time and fights whoever wins LL2 (also the second chance round for those who got beaten).
