“Have you...have you been hiding there this entire time though?”

"No!...Maybe! Argh, what's it to you if I was?" Morgan said, a bit flustered at the response her entrance had gotten. She tossed her head and turned away from the boy, pointedly, to look upon the rest of the Fighters who came to greet them.

"Hate to brake it to ya doll,  but that spot's taken by the one and only Cyanthrax, Lion's Sin of Pride!"

"Lion you say?" Morgan responded back, looking up at Cyan with an easy confidence, "all I see is a tabby cat." This one. She'd have to keep her eye on him. He could be good to make an ally...eventually. Moreso than...most of these others, at least. Whom, she decided, were utterly unimpressive to a fault.

Especially that goodie-two-shoes-class-president-type, the one with white hair.

There were a couple others who stood out for other reasons, though. "hi new people! My name is Xia and I can't wait to be both of your friends!"

There was something...about this one. She seemed....powerful. Morgan could sense something ancient within the girl and it piqued her curiosity. So she gave her a smile and grabbed one of the girl's hands with both of her own. "Oh, I'd love to be friends with you, Xia, you seem like someone I could get along with very easily."

Unlike...

"You, whatever your name was, I don't even care anymore. You don't seem like the kind of person I'm going to get along with, so maybe pray we don't get matched up for a fight, got it?"

Looking to the side, keeping her face from Xia, she gave this one a glare. Then, telling Xia to give her a moment, she strolled over to Aria. Leaning forward she smiled wickedly. "The only reason I'd be worried about being in a match with you is if your ugly face is contagious." She then turned back to Xia, her smile friendly again. "There are many...interesting people here aren't there?"

t1Odu9p.jpg

"I've been thinking lately, you're probably really strong. After all, you plucked me and a handful of other people from our worlds, just like that. But that's all I really know. Outside of that, I don't really have any idea how strong you are. I wanted to get a feeling for that myself. And so, Mauvache, I challenge you to a battle in your own Arena!"

Mauvache's smile slowly widened, and she gave a low chuckle. "Oh, my dear, you are mistaken. I may have certain magical abilities but I am no fighter." Aurora would see a strange light flash in the woman's eyes, almost like a lightning bolt, and feel the air in the room grow thick, almost chokingly so, before everything turned back to normal. "I regret to say I must turn down your challenge, Aurora. But perhaps you'd like to take on an Event match, if you're bored of your fellow Fighters already. I'm sure the audience would love that."

Day 4, 10:00, Mauvache's Office

Points: 168

W/L Record: 2/1

"Oh, my dear, you are mistaken. I may have certain magical abilities but I am no fighter." There was a flash in Mauvache's eyes. Aurora couldn't put her finger on it, but whatever it was, the air was suddenly almost too thick to breathe in. Only for a moment, but that moment gave Aurora some rough concept of how strong Mauvache might have truly been. "I regret to say I must turn down your challenge, Aurora. But perhaps you'd like to take on an Event match, if you're bored of your fellow Fighters already. I'm sure the audience would love that."

"That's kind of a shame, but the more I think about it, I get it." Running the Arena surely kept Mauvache super-busy. Probably too much so to enjoy fighting in it. It wasn't like she was tired of duking it out with the other fighters, but an event match did sound fun. "Thank you for your time either way." With that, the cryomancer got up, gave her newfound boss - this whole Arena business still felt new to her, at least - then started on her way out of the office, looking around on her watch for the event matches.

During her search, she also found a menu labeled "Personalization."

Despite that brief distraction - Aurora decided she'd look into that more in-depth later - she found the event battles rather easily. They all cost points, and most of them were beyond her current budget. However, one in particular stood out to her.

Slaking Kong: Climb a tower, save the girl, defeat the giant monster!
Price: 100 Points. Prize: 300 Points.

Sounds like my kind of work. I'll do that one! Not only that, but out of the events she could afford, that one had the highest point payout. In fact, she was pretty sure doing this would net her more points than just fighting another Arena fighter. Aurora confirmed in the pop-up window that this was the event battle she wanted to try today, after acknowledging that she'd only be able to do it once, then remembered something else about points.

"It was a joke, dumbass! Ya were s'pose to tell me to fuck off! You shouldn't let people push you around like that. Stand up for yourself!"

I do NOT let people push me around, she mentally huffed, bringing up the message function in the watch.

I'm still paying you back for those drinks like I said. How much do I owe you?

Actually, just meet me at the food court. I still need to eat breakfast.

And maybe I should take a look at that personalization menu...

As Cyan was greeting the fresh meat, Xia stepped in. "oh oh, since you're new you probably don't know where anything is! Well, I don't either, but it'd be fun to get to know the whole place together then! And Cyan, you should come along with too!" Cyan simply shrugged. It gave him something better to do before a fight other than hitting the bar again. Plus, by the sounds of it, they were gonna hit the bar again anyways.

"Lion's Piece of Shit more like," A familiar voice rung from behind him. He turned to see Aria, who seemed to have a look of pure hate on her face when speaking from him. Cyan smirked, glad to see that she was doing well since their last fight. He was afraid she'd end up crumpling again at the sight of him. In fact, by the sounds of it, it seemed like she was hellbent on taking him down. Good, hopefully this would lead to her being stronger - it'd make it oh so satisfying to kick her ass again.

"Lion you say?" Morgan responded back, giving the demon a look almost as cocky as his, "all I see is a tabby cat." His eyes flared up a bit, as he picked up his sword. His grin, however, didn't fade at all.

"Aww, how sweet! Y'all already got nicknames for me!" He said, laughing as his weapon dissipated in a burst of flame and smoke. "Anyways, we should get going. Gotta show the newbie 'round the place." He said, turning around and started to walk away. "Oh, right!" He stopped, pulling out his watch. As per usual, he signed himself up for a random fight.

As we was doing that, he got a message.

To: Cyanthrax

From: Aurora

To: Cyanthrax

Actually, just meet me at the food court. I still need to eat breakfast.

And here he thought he'd have to bug the girl for his money back. He started typing on the machine, taking his time as he got used to using the device to send messages.

Without taking a second to glance over and proof read, he sent the various messages to the girl, before turning to the group he expected to follow. "First place we're goin' is food court! I got business there."

"No!...Maybe! Argh, what's it to you if I was?"

“It’s just funny, that’s all! I sure coulda used your help figuring out how to make this ‘watch’ thing work,” Masaru brought his arm up to show her the enchanted bracelet. The black screen was back again, along with the sleeping slime from before. This time, the summoner made sure not to interrupt the poor thing’s nap by pressing any buttons. “This slime’s too tired to wake up and help me. Do you think they’re feeding him right? If not, that could be why he’s so sleepy. From the looks if it he’s just a baby, so he’ll need a lot of mineral-rich rocks to get bigger.”

He would have happily discussed the dietary habits of the Standard Slime more, but when he managed to tear his eyes away from his watch, he noticed that Morgan had wandered off to talk to an overwhelmingly bubbly fish girl.

Looked like she had been right; he had been completely overshadowed by her arrival.

Not that it bothered him. Masaru was from a small family in a quaint fishing town, so he wasn’t always the best at handling crowds. She was actually doing him a favor by taking off some of the pressure of meeting new people. He would have to thank her sometime. “These guys sure are something, huh buddy?” he said to the slime inside his watch, who didn’t so much as jiggle in response. “Still too sleepy? That’s alright. I’ll let you rest as long as ya need.”

He was distracted by a familiar voice saying, "...uh, yo! Masaru, is that really you?” In that same moment, the Database Tattoo on his arm began to burn.

The blank scroll page lit up, swirled, and shifted to display the information of another member of his guild. Angela—Cherry Heart’s own little slice of Heaven. “Angela!” Masaru closed the distance between them and wrapped her up in a crushing hug, completely lifting her off her feet and spinning her around. “I’m so glad you’re alright! I was out the other day and I was using the Database to check on you guys—you remember the tattoo right?—and when I got to you it completely freaked out.”

Near the end of his rambling, Masaru suddenly remembered his own strength and dropped her back to the ground. “Whoops. Still getting used to how strong I am these days, sorry if I hurt you! How have you been though? How is everyone else? I’m missed you guys so much, you don’t even know.”

When he was invited to tag along with Xia and Cyan he would politely decline, choosing to stay with Angela to catch up. “Would you mind showing me around? Gonna have to get used to this place. Everything here’s so different from Magnolia.” He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. He had started to worry there for a second, but Angela being there crushed any uncertainties.

Waiting for her response, his attention wandered to the rest of the fighters. Most of them were funneling out of the arena, ready to get back to business as usual, but the violent girl who had shouted at the witch caught his eye. She didn’t seem to get along with a lot of the other fighters.

“Actually, hold that thought for just a second. I’ll be right back,” Masaru said, already making his way over to Violent Girl. “Hiya. You mighta already heard, or maybe the fireworks were too loud, but my name’s Masaru. My friend Angela was just about to show me around town and I was wondering if you might wanna tag along with us?” He flashed her a disarming smile. “It’s cool if you’re busy though. I was just thinking it’d be a good way to get to know another fighter.”

Aria

"The only reason I'd be worried about being in a match with you is if your ugly face is contagious," Morgan has said to Aria, which only caused her scowl to deepen.

At the brink of exploding with a retort, Aria caught Mauvache's eyes that simply said one thing: "Save it for the arena." Aria folded her arms with a "Humph" as she glared at the new-comer. She remembered that the watch allowed for you to request specific matches, but she wasn't sure if that meant both had to agree to it or not. Well, there was only one way to find out. Then, the other newcomer approached her.

“Hiya. You mighta already heard, or maybe the fireworks were too loud, but my name’s Masaru. My friend Angela was just about to show me around town and I was wondering if you might wanna tag along with us?” Aria felt her anger spike even further at the "fireworks" comment, but was caught completely off-guard by the boy's smile. “It’s cool if you’re busy though. I was just thinking it’d be a good way to get to know another fighter.”

What the hell is with this guy?! Aria thought as she felt her cheeks involuntarily turn a faint shade of crimson. Back in school and even in games she was never asked to hang out like this. Any of the guys she did hang out were never the "pretty boy" type or were even that nice, nor did they do anything remotely close to flirting with her. For all she was concerned, she was just another one of the guys to them. But this felt... different? Or maybe she just doesn't know any better? sheet, what do people do in this situations?!

"Uuhhh yeah, sure, I mean, I don't, exactly, have anything planned, or anything, so," It took everything to keep herself from stuttering and turning into a complete and total communication-mess. "What did you have in mind?"

Xia was overjoyed to see that the two new people were also quite ready to be friends with her as well. As Morgan shook hands with her, Xia's grip much stronger then Morgan's, she said, "oh I'm sure we'll get along well! I try to get along with everyone and since you're part of everyone I'm sure we'll get along well!"As Morgan and Aria had their friendly banter to each other, Xia readily responded to the new girl again saying, "there certainly are. And all of them are super nice too! There's Aria and Angela and Cyan and," she pointed to each of them as she said their names saying, "there's also Aurora, the white haired girl and the new guy from yesterday. You missed a few other really cool people, but all of us are still really fun too!"

As Cyan then agreed with her in her plan to go have some food court adventures, the girl's face stayed illuminated with joy as she said, "woohoo!" Looking to the others she said, "hey Aria, Angela, other new guy, we're going to the food court, so feel free to come along with!" With that, she followed Cyan's lead to go and get some food.

"Anyways, we should get going. Gotta show the newbie 'round the place."

"Excuse you but I don't have to be escorted anywhere." Morgan said with a huff. She cast a sidelong glance at Masaru, who had been apparently fooled into thinking his watch was a living creature. "You on the other hand could use all the help you could get, couldn't you?"

She was almost shocked at how someone could be so dense as to think what was essentially a screensaver was alive. Then she remembered Dirk and the shock entirely faded away.

When Xia decided to join them Morgan paused and told Cyanthrax, "On second thought, it might be nice to have an...entourage I suppose."

"hey Aria, Angela, other new guy, we're going to the food court, so feel free to come along with!"

She raised her eyebrow at that. "I'm sure they have other places they'd rather be." Her tone was chilly, and it would be clear to anyone, barring perhaps Xia, that Morgan didn't want them with.

Morgan gave a laugh as she noticed that the slime boy and the ugly girl were hitting it off. "Way to aim low." Morgan called back to him as she strolled out of the door, her broomstick over her shoulder.

Once outside the door she would wait for Cyan, and if he took long berate him for being slow, and ask, "So where are we going anyway?"

Meanwhile, Gavin and VEX were still in the process of looking for Aurora to give her the details, as on one end, Gavin was already sending a message to Aurora, just to see if she was available to talk.

From: Gavin

To: Aurora

Hey. VEX got some useful information in regards to our little investigation last night. Where are you at so I can have him explain the details?

On the other hand, or rather device, VEX had taken this time to utilize the information he was granted in this little world. After all, after doing ample searches within this world, the A.I. happened to find out about a long list of things known as "Combat Events". No doubt put in place to give not only the combatants a bit of a variety, but those many people watching these events as well.

"Now, what do we have here for these Combat Events?" VEX muttered, looking through the lists of these events he pulled up within his datascape domain. "These events seem to capitalize on combat, but in various different forms. Monster battles... Creature captures... Defensive... Mauvache seems to have quite the assortment of events ready. Aha, but what is this?"

VEX's had the list go back all the way to the top as his eyes laid upon one event that seemed to be just right for Gavin. "Bullet Hell: To the moon. Journey to the moon and fly a strange transport through a wave of enemies and reach the goal. An event almost gift wrapped for Gavin." the A.I. mused, as he materialized a terminal before him and began to move his hands slightly in different directions. In a matter of moments, VEX had successfully signed Gavin up for this Combat Event and sent in the request almost immediately. Unfortunately, an error popped up in regards accessing the event. "Ah, it appears there's an entry fee of points for these events. And unfortunately, it appears that this specific event requires a total of 200. Gavin only has a total of 120. Quite the unfortunate situation that has appeared before, nevertheless, I will have to tab that just for Gavin."

With a small shrug, VEX canceled the signing up for the Combat Events and closed down the terminal. Exiting his datascape for a moment, VEX's hologram appeared once more on Gavin's MOVA. "Any word back from Ms. Burns?"

"Oh VEX. No not yet." Gavin said, a bit startled by the A.I. "Went quiet on me there, got a little worried. Everything alright?"

"Indeed, Gavin. Never better."

"How the hell did ya get in front of me..." Cyanthrax said, confused as to how Morgan had gotten in front of him. He blamed his slow typing on the watch, but it wasn't his fault magic like that didn't exist where he was from. He simply shrugged, at least she was eager. "I already said we're goin' to tha food court. Ya deaf or something!?" He said to the witch, shaking his head. He turned to the others, gesturing and noticing them talking among themselves. "Whoever wan't t'come is free to do so, just hurry yer asses up!" He barked, before moving out the door.

When he got there, Aurora was already there, sitting at one of the tables. She had a plate of food in front of her, the breakfast she was talking about. "Ah, there you are!" He said, walking towards the girl. "So, uh... how the fuck do we do this?" He said, ignoring the group that he was in and sitting down at the table. He pulled out his watch and waved it around, clearly confused. "I hope there's this type of magic where you're from..."

Day 4, 10:00, Mauvache's Office

Points: 43

W/L Record: 2/1

Familiar meals. For the 15 extra points a day, basic foods were available to her instead of the flavorless stuff she'd been eating since getting here. With the probable huge payday coming up from that event battle, Aurora felt now was the best time to give it a shot. And boy how she didn't regret it! True to the item's name, these were meals that she was familiar with, and now that she was scarfing her food down faster than she realized, Aurora wasn't sure how she got through the first three days without some steaming hot bacon and eggs to start the day right! Hot chocolate as the drink was simply the icing on the cake. As Aurora took her first look at the bacon, ready to start eating, her watch beeped.

I'll pay for both like I said I would. It's fine.

With that, Aurora got to eating. She only really had time to eat the bacon before Cyan showed up in person, just as Aurora was about to take her first bite into the eggs. And he brought that witch with him.

"Ah, there you are! So, uh... how the fuck do we do this? I hope there's this type of magic where you're from..."

"Mhm. I'm no tech expert, but I'm sure I can do this just fine!" With all the other nifty features this thing had, surely there was a funds transfer option, right? And with a bit of looking, Aurora even found the selection for it! She selected the destination for her ten points - Cyanthrax, of course - and hit the send button...

"I don't think we're allowed to share points. I don't get it. I'll get in touch with the support guys later, unless... you feel a bit lucky." She was allowed to do a regular fight and an event match on the same day, right? "Let's go double or nothing. I challenge you to a battle in the Arena! If I win, I don't owe you any points, but if you win, I'll pay you twenty instead of the ten I said I owed you... if I can figure out a way to get the points sent over."

When the newcomer Morgan had decided to come along with them, Xia had a clear look of joy on her face. However, when she stated that the others probably had some place else to be, she seemed a bit disappointed saying, "aw, that's a shame." Turning to the ones she called out to earlier, saying, "well if you guys don't have better places to be, then be sure to come with!" With that, as the group made their way out and to the food court, Xia merely pumped her fist into the air shouting, "woo food!"

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the food court, and once they were they were already  greeted with yet another familiar face. As the girl came into view, Xia gave a way saying, "hi Aurora!" It was then that both she and Cyan had gotten into talking about payment for stuff, and Xia wasn't quite sure what was going on, but it seemed that their watch things didn't quite like it. When she made her note about fighting, Xia remembered she had yet to sign up for one yet herself, but still looked to Cyan with an eager expression on her face saying, "oh, you totally should! Aurora is like, super fun to fight around with and I'm sure it'll be a blast for both of you!"

Gavin's watch immediately beeped, as he looked down and saw that there was finally a response from Aurora. "There's Snow Angel now...alright, what's she say?" he muttered, accessing the watch's messaging feature once more.

From: Aurora

To: Gavin

I'm at the food court, meeting up with Cyanthrax.

Cyanthrax? Which person was that...? he thought, thinking long and hard about who Aurora was referring to, until finally one image popped into his head. Cyanthrax, that guy with the pointy ears and the purple hair. The upstart prick of an individual, least that's what he was thinking of the person. Oh goodie, he'll be around...fan-freaking-tastic.

"Seems Ms. Burns will be with company today." VEX spoke up. "Please do take caution when approaching the others and try not to start a fight."

"Oh really? Your one to talk!" Gavin chuckled, rolling his eyes as he made the way to the food court. "You had your sassy-self talking to that guy yesterday and just let him have it."

"I do not recall this information you speak of, Gavin." VEX said quickly, smirking up at Gavin, who was rolling his eyes again.

"Heh, whatever you say buddy." he said, walking into the food court and making his way towards Aurora, after finding her. "Aurora! Hey, thanks for being able to meet up." Gavin said, moving into position near the others, only giving a slight nod and acknowledgement to the others surrounding the cryomancer.

"I already said we're goin' to tha food court. Ya deaf or something!?"

"And are you stupid? Never mind, don't bother answering that. You know you're supposed to be showing me around right?" Morgan responded with an exaggerated roll of her eyes. "I don't know where anything is around here. You're not a very good escort."

Xia seemed to be rather excited to be getting food. Which caused Morgan to smile. This one...was very simple. This was gonna be easy.

---

It turned out that they had, in fact, been meeting up with the one who had left so suddenly earlier. The goodie-two-shoes looking girl. Morgan sent the other girl a withering look, annoyed that she was being forced to spend time with her, before going off to get some food of her own.

"You call this food? This is....this is just grease on a stick!" Morgan said, staring in horror at the deep fried monstrosity presented to her. She put her hands up, in front of her, and shook her head. "No, no, I'll pass. I'd rather not destroy my insides on my first day here."

She returned to the others only to find that they had added yet another to their merry little band. This one had been about as rude as Aurora had been, if Morgan remembered. Granted he looked rather...forgettable so perhaps she was wrong.

Morgan gave an intentionally loud sigh as she tapped her foot and twirled a lock of hair around her finger. "So I take it you all are friends, then? How...lovely."

“I’m so glad you’re alright! I was out the other day and I was using the Database to check on you guys—you remember the tattoo right?—and when I got to you it completely freaked out.”

"You...really did have changed." Masaru's sudden lift caught Angela off-guard, but for the most part she was glad to see another familiar sight in this strange place.

“Whoops. Still getting used to how strong I am these days, sorry if I hurt you! How have you been though? How is everyone else? I’m missed you guys so much, you don’t even know.”

"I've been doing fine. The guild's been better than ever since Jeanne properly returned and became the leader again. As for me I've been getting closer with everyone too, and-" So Angela went on a rambling as she excitedly recalled all the memories she had on the guild, even if she wasn't sure whether those particular memories were the time Masaru was still with the guild or not. Nevertheless, it was a blast and she kept going even as Masaru decided to stay with her to listen. Even once Masaru went to approach the witch girl to talk, Angela kept going on with her tales. Granted, she didn't seem to respond to him anyway, so ANgela just continued to Masaru's side, and ended her talk.

"So that concludes it. Where have you been? And what's with that arm? That surely looks very cool on you."

Angela took a momentary pause. Talking that openly really had been a while for her. It was strange. Ah, perhaps she just missed Cherry Heart a little too much. She shook her head a bit about it and held Masaru's arm.

"Let's talk about it while I show you around, alright?"

"Mhm. I'm no tech expert, but I'm sure I can do this just fine!" The girl spoke, optimistically as she was the other day. As she fiddled with the watch, however, it seemed to reject the idea. "I don't think we're allowed to share points. I don't get it. I'll get in touch with the support guys later, unless... you feel a bit lucky." Cyan's ears perked up, intrigued with where she was going with this. "Let's go double or nothing. I challenge you to a battle in the Arena! If I win, I don't owe you any points, but if you win, I'll pay you twenty instead of the ten I said I owed you... if I can figure out a way to get the points sent over."

"oh, you totally should! Aurora is like, super fun to fight around with and I'm sure it'll be a blast for both of you!"

Cyan let out a hearty chuckle. "Now you're speaking my language!" He shouted, cracking his neck. "You bet your ass I'm down!" He stopped for a moment. "I did sign up for a random battle though... eh, I'm sure someone will figure this sheet out for me!" He let out a chuckle, before extending his hand. "You got yerself a deal!" He turned his head towards Gavin, giving him a small nod of acknowledgement, although his glare was one of slight disgust. He didn't know much about the lad, but from what he saw last night he wasn't impressed in the slightest.

"So I take it you all are friends, then? How... lovely." It was then that Morgana came back. Cyan turned to the girl.

"Don't be ridiculous!" He spat out, bitterness in his voice. "I don't have friends... not anymore." He said, before shaking his head. "I'm gonna get some food." He said briefly, before leaving the group to go get breakfast.

Day 4, 10:00, Food Court

Points: 43

W/L Record: 2/1

"Oh, you totally should! Aurora is like, super fun to fight around with and I'm sure it'll be a blast for both of you!"

"Now you're speaking my language! I did sign up for a random battle though... eh, I'm sure someone will figure this sheet out for me! You got yerself a deal!"

"It's a deal then." Aurora reached out, gripping and shaking Cyanthrax's hand. It seemed she'd be pretty busy today, what with having to do two fights instead of the usual one. And there was also the info she had to get from Gavin, then quite possibly following up on his investigation with a visit to the casino. Was she even allowed to gamble here? It was illegal at her age back home, but were the laws here a bit different? Not that she was interested anyway. As the cryomancer took the first strip of bacon and started chowing down, that witch returned, with a surprising lack of food which she'd presumably left to get in the first place.

"So I take it you all are friends, then? How...lovely."

"Don't be ridiculous! I don't have friends... not anymore. I'm gonna get some food."

"I have some friends where I came from, but I'm not sure if I'd call any of these fighters my friends so soon. We haven't been here very long." Aurora ate the second of her three pieces of bacon in short order, before moving on to the third. Plate cleared, Aurora turned in her seat to more directly face the witch. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but paused. And then turned to Xia instead. "What about you? Got any friends in the world you came from?"

Not long after she asked, however, Gavin also showed up. Man, the food court sure was the place to be this morning!

"Aurora! Hey, thanks for being able to meet up."

"Hey there! It's no problem. So, what did you want to tell me?"

Xia was excited to see a fight being set up, even if it was one that she would neither take part in nor be able to watch. She just knew that fighting here was where fun things happened and that it was usually how she made great friends with people. As Morgan made her comment about everyone around here being friends, Xia nodded her head eagerly, not really paying attention to the comments of everyone else on the matter. "Yeah, it's like everyone here is one big family!"

As Aurora directed a question towards her, Xia looked to the girl nodding again. "Oh yeah, so I used to have a lot of friends, but they were all fish. Fish weren't really good at talking though, and they only really swam around for fun. And I guess ate some of them and I later learned that food aren't friends, so I'm not sure if we were actually friends or not. But then I met this group of guys! They were really nice. They gave me a home, and taught me how to speak with them, and they even gave me more food that wasn't fish!  Oh, I also swam around with them a lot, but they weren't really that great at it, at least worse then the fish." Xia nodded in her memories before saying, "but, it was still really fun to be with them. But it's also really fun being here too!" She looked over to the new people saying, "oh Morgan, and uh, Gavin! Do you guys have friends where you're from?"

"I don't have friends... not anymore."

Morgan rolled her eyes and called after Cyanthrax. "If you want some friends you could start by buying me something good to eat." She turned back towards the others, tossing her hair, and watched the girl, Aurora, watching her.

She waited for the girl to ask her something, ready to answer, but she turned away. "Hey!" Morgan objected, pouting, as Xia was asked the question first.

Then Aurora went right to that other guy, the rude one, and Morgan scoffed. "Maybe don't ask someone something if you're going to ignore them."

She smiled sweetly at Xia. "That's very interesting, Xia." How could someone be friends with fish? Was this girl actually a child? She did resemble a Dragon after all so perhaps she was young for her species...which just made it all the more important that Morgan get on her good side.

Of course she might not HAVE a bad side. "As for myself, of course. I had many friends...though I suppose they were more fans. My name was famous, you know. I was in a tournament before this and was the favorite of the watchers. Not to mention all my apprentices, and my father's henchmen. Yes, I was quite popular where I came from. But you, Xia, could be my first friend HERE. I'll let you have that honor."

"Hey there! It's no problem. So, what did you want to tell me?"

"Well getting right to the point, VEX found some stuff regarding our one lead: Perry Colarata." Gavin explained, holding up his MOVA. "Vex, care to do the honors?"

"Certainly, Gavin." VEX appeared in his hologram form, taking a small bow towards Aurora. "According to my findings, The casino in question that Perry Colarata owns was once in the possession by a mob boss that ran a shady business. However, it seems unlike the previous owner, the current one is running a legitimate business in it." VEX stated, pulling up a few holographic images for Aurora to glance through. "Furthermore, Mr. Colarata has a business partner. Unfortunately, I could not find a specific name for this partner, aside from the moniker that they are known by: 'Silver'. This would not be anything worth a glance at first, however this 'Silver' individual appeared under mysterious circumstances and was never investigated due to having no criminal record."

Gavin then proceeded to interject into the conversation once again. "I'm not 100% sure if anything here in this current set of information is helpful in any way possible, but it's a start."

"Oh Morgan, and uh, Gavin! Do you guys have friends where you're from?"

He paused in his conversation to glance at Xia, the dragon girl, to answer her question. "Yeah...he's here on my wrist." he said quickly, as VEX could only be waving his hand for the girl to see. "Other than that...no. Most the other people I ended up surrounding myself with, I found out, were a bunch of pricks who happened to just use me as a stepping stone to get what they wanted and then leaving me on to hate them while they soared higher into the galactic adventures that was meant for me..."

Xia seemed quite interested in Morgan's story, and wondered just what the tournament thing she had joined was like. If it was any bit as fun as this place had been so far, then Xia was a bit disappointed that she had missed out on something as amazing as that. But then, she probably wouldn't have been here and met so many super awesome people, so it all worked out in the end. As Morgan then asked Xia to be her first friend, the girl had a beaming smile across her face as she said, "oh I'd love to be your friend! We'll do so many awesome and fun things together and see all different kinds of wonderful places and it'll be the best!" The girl then went to hug Morgan with full force, though stopped as swiftly as she began, remembering that she wasn't supposed to hug people for prolonged periods of time.

The dragon girl then turned to Gavin as he began to speak, waving to the small man on his wrist, both with enthusiasm and curiosity as she looked at him. She then seemed to frown as Gavin gave his story, saddened by the overall negativity that the boy had to go through before getting here. However, she soon perked up saying, "well, I'm sure you'll make tons of friends here! After all, it's plain as day to anyone here that you're a person, not a stone so I'm sure no one will step on you!" She gave two enthusiastic thumbs up to him. With that out of the way, the girl got some food herself, eating the same kind that Aurora was and started scarfing it down. In a manner of seconds there was no more food as she said, "so, what else do you guys wanna do? We got so much time before fighting starts and there's so many things to do! We can eat more food, go play some games or even walk up a really big staircase! I know the best place for  that!"

"Uuhhh yeah, sure, I mean, I don't, exactly, have anything planned, or anything, so… What did you have in mind?"

Masaru shrugged and gestured toward Angela, who had approached while them while Aria was speaking. “Not really sure. I was thinking you guys could show me the basics? Like a crash course for all the stuff I really need to know.” It was at precisely that moment his stomach rumbled, interrupting anything else he had intended to say. He smiled sheepishly. “Maybe we could start with getting something to eat though? Miss Mauvache told me that I have some grace points to spend until I can start battling so I’ll pay for us.”

Angela wrapped her arms around his arm—his metal arm—and his smile faltered slightly. “Hmm? What’s up with your arm Masaru?”

“N-nothing. I’ve just been pumping a lot of iron I guess,” he laughed, awkwardly freeing his arm from her grasp. “I’ve got a long way to go if I want to catch up to Kin and Myth, right? Anyways I’m starving. Either of you know any good places to eat?”

Day 4, 10:00, Food Court

Points: 43

W/L Record: 2/1

"According to my findings, The casino in question that Perry Colarata owns was once in the possession by a mob boss that ran a shady business. However, it seems unlike the previous owner, the current one is running a legitimate business in it. Furthermore, Mr.

People who pop out of nowhere tend to be pretty fishy. In the meantime, it was good to know that everyone had friends where they came from. Except Gavin, apparently. Hopefully he was just unlucky and his entire world wasn't like that. Aurora would hate to know there was an entire world where everyone backstabbed everyone. How would people even get anything done like that? The cryomancer turned to and quickly downed the bacon on her plate. She didn't realize how much she missed good bacon until just now. The greasy, crunchy texture and distinct flavor, combined with being a cooked food, made it the best breakfast food in her opinion.

"Well, I'm sure you'll make tons of friends here! After all, it's plain as day to anyone here that you're a person, not a stone so I'm sure no one will step on you! So, what else do you guys wanna do? We got so much time before fighting starts and there's so many things to do! We can eat more food, go play some games or even walk up a really big staircase! I know the best place for that!"

"Some games sound fun!" Did Xia mean like arcade games? Aurora was pretty good at those, but the shooting ones were where she truly shined. And she may or may not have used her Fragment to cheat at air hockey once. If Xia did indeed mean an arcade, hopefully it wasn't that expensive. Aurora looked at her point balance again. It was pretty low right now, but if everything went right today, she'd be pretty comfortable.

...how many points did "well off" constitute anyway?

Aria

“Not really sure. I was thinking you guys could show me the basics? Like a crash course for all the stuff I really need to know." His stomach then rumbled loudly. "Maybe we could start with getting something to eat though? Miss Mauvache told me that I have some grace points to spend until I can start battling so I’ll pay for us.”

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, and then we can--"

 "Way to aim low."

Aria looked over to see Morgan leaving the arena hall with a few other fighters and noticed that it was directed towards the guy that she was talking to. At that moment Aria's face twisted into a glare and turned a bright, beat-red. "OH I'LL SHOW YOU WHO AIMS LOW WHEN I SEE YOU IN THE ARENA, jabroni!" She called back in futility as Morgan had already entered the elevator. Growling, Aria took out her watch and immediately punched in a challenge request to Morgan.

Aria then took a deep breath and recomposed herself. "Sorry about that. Yeah, we can get someth...ing to eat at the food court..." Aria had looked back at Masaru to see Angela wrapped around his arm and suddenly felt a strange pang in her stomach, as well as a feeling of defeat wash over her as, from their conversation, it was pretty evident that they already knew each other. She cleared her throat. "O-otherwise there's a pub a few floors down that I've eaten at before as well."

"If you want some friends you could start by buying me something good to eat." Cyan scoffed, responding by flipping the girl off without turning around.

Cyan shook his head as he made his way to get food. All this talk about friendship reminded him of the other sins from back home. He took a second to look around him. "Man, this place is paradise for a guy like me..." He muttered. It was true; he got to fight against worthy opponents daily, even though he couldn't quite kill them. That might actually be a positive though, as if he could kill them he'd quickly run out of competition. The booze and food was basically free, so long as he kept fighting, and the place that he rested was... well, it wasn't ideal, but it was far better than what he was doing the past couple of years. Honestly, he could probably stay here for the rest of eternity and be happy, and yet...

"Those knuckleheads..." The other sins were the main reason why he was aimlessly wandering around in the first place. It had been a while since they split up; Cyan bet that they were probably lost without him. After all, what is the sins without their daring and courageous leader! They had taken him in, and now they were his responsibility. They were... "No... not friends... colleagues... yeah yeah, colleagues." He said to himself, now having gotten himself some food. And his colleagues needed him. He made the decision - he was going to find a way back home, one way or another.

When Cyan returned, a plate nearly empty, he overheard the others talk about games and such. "Games, huh?" He said, taking a seat. "Sure, why the fuck not. I don't have anything else to do." He took one last bite of his burger. "Plus, gives me something else to kick everyone's asses in."

"Pfft." Morgan couldn't help but let out a bit of a laugh as Gavin showed off his virtual, and only, friend. "Oh my god you're friends with a fancy Tamagotchi." she muttered, though likely not everyone here would understand the reference.

Morgan almost had to maneuver around Xia, not wanting to be hugged, but the girl seemed to think better of it and backed away. The important part was that Xia agreed to be Morgan's friend. Already the witch felt her position in this world was strengthening.

"Well whatever we do you'll have to show me the way, Xia, remember I've only just came here. As far as games go as long as it's not sports then I'm fine. I'm sure some of you haven't even seen a video game before. It'll be funny to watch you struggle." She was staring straight at Cyanthrax when she said that. But then she got a notification on her watch and had to check that.

"Who in the world is 'Aria'?" She asked, pondering why this girl was sending her a challenge.

Eventually the group made their way to the Mall. Which contained, among other things, a large Arcade. A neon red sign above it introducing it as "The Circus". With dozens and dozens of games the dimly lit place was filled with flashing lights, sounds, and people's cries of both joy and frustration. There was a short step that led into the sunken floor of the arcade. There were pathways covered in maroon carpeting but most of it was hardwood. At this time in the day the arcade wasn't packed but there was still plenty of people, mostly underage boys and girls, milling about.

If they went farther into the arcade they would see a girl who some would recognize as one of the Arena's maids, Camille, on a large machine that came in two parts. One was a simple platform with rails around it and arrow buttons on top. The other was a large screen where more arrows were coming up towards the top of the screen. Words like "Nice" "Great" and "Excellent" popped up from time to time as the maid, dressed in shorts and a tanktop as opposed to their usual uniform, made energetic but precise movements with her feet.

But she was just one of many people playing one of many games in this place. Unless one knew who she was they might not even notice her among the crowd.

Morgan, however, was staring at the maid with an almost baffled expression.

[spoiler=OOC]Mkay so if you don't want to go to the mall/arcade that's fine (or just the mall not the arcade etc) I'm just setting the scene, and adding an NPC to it, for those who wish to go there.
