Guest, the last post on this topic is over 30 days old and a new post will be considered as necrobumping!
Lana is still the best I don't care what anyone says.

Strictly speaking Ceto is stronger than her, but Ceto is the only one and even that's because it's fucking Palkia. Lana is by far my favorite team member. Inversely, Koume has turned out to be kinda disappointing, which y'all will learn about in greater detail in the next episode.
Time to pick this up. I wrapped up my grinding last night, so we'll be starting with a team recap.
As you might notice, this isn't where I left off last episode, and that's because quite a bit has happened. In the time since the last update, I did plenty of grinding, but also wound up stumbling through new routes and making new catches, among other things. Most notably, Venom, who I caught last episode, died while grinding. I'm not particularly hurt by this loss though. I also made two new catches, one of which I've boxed because she kinda really sucks, while the other has become an addition to the main team. Finally, I started giving held items to my team and also bought some TMs for the squad. Let's do a quick end-of-episode-style team review, as well as looking at our boxed catch.
In Loving Memory:
Unfortunately, Koume has an amazing special moveset, but because of her adamant nature, she'd prefer a physical one. And Tova has the opposite problem; she's got a great physical moveset, but Manectric has a considerably better special attack stat, which even that is hindered by her jolly nature. While it seems like a lot's happened, because it has, I took care to not advance the plot of the game any. This was purely grinding. And now that everyone's caught up, let's actually progress.
Which begins with checking out the local gym. I already had the cutscene where Crasher Wake appears, so unfortunately y'all don't get to sit through that particular monologue. Anyway, let's see what's inside.
Wait, she? I thought Crasher Wake was the gym leader but in retrospect I should know why that's wrong. I bet she's hot. Also this punching bag gimmick reminds me of Burgh's gym with the honey walls. Unnecessary and tedious.
Also, is it just me, or has the black belt's appearance been more or less the same for the entirety of Pokemon's history? If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess.
Speaking of breaking things, time to break this poor man's spirits by toxic-stalling his Ambipom out with Fuckler.
This can't be toxic stalled. It can, however, get torn a new asshole by Koume's Earth Power.
Even if her nature isn't so great for special attacks, Koume does still hurt.
Too bad fairies don't exist just yet. However, Koume has Signal Beam, so it's all good. With Black Belt Colby bested, let's head further into the gym. Nothing of note comes up with the other trainers, but the more I realized how the punching bag gimmick worked, the more I realized this is actually a fairly interesting gym. I still think it's stupid though. Let's get our gym badge.
Awful polite. I figured a fighting-type gym leader would act more like Flannery or something.
Polite and humble! I like you, Maylene.
That doesn't mean I'm not about to whup your ass though.
I'm a bit overleveled for this. Oops. Even if I wasn't, Lana's out in front right now so this Cherubi is just fucked.
Being a dark-type, this sounds like a job for Koume's Signal Beam.
Also, compared to the Absol in moemon emerald and such, this one's actually pretty underwhelming. It's still nice though.
And I'll just leave this to Signal Beam as well. Sure, Maylene's Absol used Swagger so a +2 Koume is confused right now, but it should be fine.
Koume are you serious? You're lucky that Smoochum used Embargo instead of Earthquake, or you'd be dead right now. Best let Stratos wrap up.
Like "go for the throat if the opportunity presents itself"? Seriously Maylene, I like you, but you could have killed Koume. In any case...
That's four badges! I'm halfway there!
Maylene then gives us TM60, for Lava Plume! Which, happily enough, Koume can learn! I'm aware she's better off as a physical sweeper given her nature, but sometimes you just gotta roll with it. Plus, the girl needs some STAB. With the gym dealt with, let's see what else I can do here.
That's not what I meant, thot.
Oh. That's what you meant. Good. Sorry Lucas, but my heart is reserved for Gardenia and Maylene. Lucas heads off for the warehouses, so I guess I should meet up with him. Also, some random dude gave me a TM for Iron Tail. I wonder who can learn this...
Won't be needing Fire Blast anymore. Coverage is good.
Anyway, let's help this fuckin nerd. Which is pretty easy with Ceto around. Plus y'know, being overleveled helps.
Yeah you better run, cowards.
Hey guys look it's Looker. We all love Looker so much, right? Right!? This dude isn't annoying after the first few sentences at all.
I'd really rather not. But okay. Because we all know, if you're a Pokemon protagonist, you are inherently unallowed to refuse anything anyone ever says to you, ever. If someone tells you to go jump off a cliff and you're the protagonist, well I hope you've got something with Fly on the team.
Dude forget the key, look at all these ITEMS! I'm glad you dragged me here all of a sudden, Looker. But I still don't like you.
Oh nice, I was actually wondering where I'd find that. At this point, Looker doesn't say anything else except how he's got a bad feeling about Galactic moving their shit to Pastoria City, so I think I'm supposed to go there. Let's get our HM fish out the box and fly over there. On a fish. I don't get it either.
Except not because I got Pastoria and Eterna mixed up. You'd think the grass-type gym would be in Pastoria, but noooooooooo. Stupid Sinnoh Region >:T
And this here's a new area. Let's see what neat shit I can encounter here!
Oh shit this again. My body is not ready.
STAY IN THE FUCKING POKE BALLS YOU LITTLE SHIT! By this point I've thrown nine ultra balls, a dive ball, a safari ball, and a timer ball, the vast majority of which were thrown while this little fucker was asleep. Just. Please. Let me have this, you piece of shit rock.
Let's welcome Cenobia to the squad. I'm just gonna head back to the other town and get her out the box real quick, and see if she can't learn any good TMs from my collection and/or the big department store. Fuckler will be replaced on the team for the time being.
(it can't, at least not that I'd be willing to teach it)
Now with that excitement out of the way, what did I miss out on for Regirock?
Is Registeel also here by any chance? Also, apparently Regice knows Synthesis, and Cenobia's movepool is pretty bad and she has almost the worst nature you could possibly give a Regirock. So, despite being blessed with a goddamn Regirock, this turned out to be a disappointing catch. Wow. Hopefully Cenobia's moves get better with level. Like they're good moves, just not on Regirock except for one of em that only has 5PP.
Also this butterfingered thot lost her keys and doesn't have a dowsing machine. I do. Might as well look for the key I guess; nothing better to do.
Oh, hello sir! You've done a wonderful job with this game, but I think you could tone back the dialogue a bit. Less chit-chat, more smick-smack.
Also, I found the suite key. Let's go claim my reward.
I already have one of these. I'm also closing in on a new route, so I made a quick trip back to the city to restock on balls since I used pretty much all of them to catch Cenobia. Hopefully my catch there isn't another legendary ^_^; (I can't believe I'm saying that)
This is a beach, that does not have grass. If the whole route is like this though I can just go fishing.
Oh there is grass. Neat. Let's see what I catch here.
Don't mind if I do.
What'd I miss?
By the power of dupe clause, you don't count.
I'm fine with missing this for Gliscor. Seeing as we're right next to Pastoria City, it's probably better to just go there now and see what Team Galactic's up to. Except I'm not finding them, so let's challenge the gym instead. This is where Crasher Wake is.
And it's also where Rep is, apparently.
Fine by me, I have to grind up Cenobia and Shyv anyway.
That started off pretty wildly. However, Cenobia is still alive.
Ayyy look at that, his starter is all grown up. Too bad mine is dead. Ceto rather unceremoniously disposes of Rep's starter, and the battle is settled without any deaths.
Nice. Does this mean we won't be battling more in the future?
I'm starting to wonder if you understand how this universe works, my dude. A couple close calls with Shyv is all the heads-up I need that I should take a brief intermission to grind her up in particular. A few levels on Cenobia won't hurt either, and there were some items I wanted from that route back there that I couldn't access without HMs anyway.
This asshole swimmer kid's Mesprit landed a goddamn critical hit on Shyv and she'd just learned a useful fucking move. I'm absolutely fucking livid. Like, losing Scraw and Froppy and them made me sad, but now I'm just pissed all the way the fuck off. Rest up lads, because tomorrow it's on to the warpath to exterminate everything the Sinnoh Region puts in front of me.
In Loving Memory
Also, you can't overwrite HMs with other HMs in this game which is bullshit, so I'll probably have to catch a second HM slave.
Today's episode of Locke & Load is brought to you by the entire discography of Van Canto. Do you like acapella? Do you like metal? Well then why not enjoy both? :D
First place we're massacring until I'm over Shyv's death: The Pastoria City gym. This is also a good opportunity to grind Cenobia up a few more levels, which I'd never normally do in a water gym, but the laws of normality don't apply in this thread. Crasher's gym has a very annoying gimmick that just makes the entire process of getting to him more complicated than it should be. However, I got to him without any major problems.
Let's get this over with.
Cenobia can beat this. Not because of a super-effective move or anything though, so much as she can just spam Thunder.
Which, conveniently eneough, is super-effective against this thing. I seem to recall these having pretty nutty movesets based on the ones I saw when I was grinding up Lana & pals a few episodes back. Even if they are scary, though, Wake's just kept spamming Wish. Cenobia's pretty much out of Thunders at this point.
But that doesn't matter because Gible is immune to that shit anyway. Wake's team gets swept entirely by Cenobia, and because of it...
My fifth gym badge, and a TM for Swift! That might come in handy later, but unfortunately, Lana can't learn it. I can give it to Lord Explosion Murder or Ceto though, so I'll take some time to weigh my options throughout the episode.
If I didn't, I would have basically lost the nuzlocke. It's sink or swim in this world my dude.
This relationship is developing a bit faster than I am comfortable with. Somebody should write fanfiction about this.
Oh. I guess the Rep x Wake fanfiction will have to wait.
This isn't Unova. Where is Team Galactic just getting lethal weapons just all hunky dory like that? Crasher Wake rushes off to give them a piece of his mind, because nobody messes with Pastoria on his watch. I should probably go check it out too. Team Galactic killed Scraw which was basically a declaration of war, which I mean if they wanna fight so be it. Let's go check it out.
Rep seems to have the same idea, but I'm not entirely sure if he's going to check out the bomb situation or the guy dealing with it.
Oh shit they actually had a bomb. That's kinda dark for Pokemon, but then again Ghetsis blatantly tried to kill the player in BW2, and iirc Lysandre basically committed suicide in Y. But it's still a kids game, because the Galactic grunts look fucking stupid. One of them even runs out of the Great Marsh (that's what this area up here's called, right?), and Wake is understandably pretty pissed. Bombing a perfectly good marsh smfh.
This guy then runs off without challenging us to a battle. Are we in the right game???
I'm following you. Mostly because the Great Marsh is an area where I can make a new catch.
Rep quit oogling over Wake and listen to what I'm saying. We can't all have Ice Punch Primeapes, okay? I'm making a new catch. Except not, because Rep isn't letting me make a new catch. Guess I should go get that grunt. Maybe he'll move if I do that.
My name is Yunigo Montoya. You killed my Croconaw. Prepare to die.
As we chase the Galactic Grunt through Route 213, we get some exposition. Basically, the Galactic Bomb is super-powerful and can blow up most things, and whoever designed it is a scientific mechanical genius (probably Cyrus). And we run into someone else along the way. Or rather, they run into us...
...what do you want, Looker?
In fact, all he wants is to slow down my chase by reiterating everything that just happened. I can't tell if this man's the greatest detective at interpol's cutting-edge disposal, or a bumbling idiot who couldn't detect his way out of a paper bag.
About fucking time you decided to try and fight me. With just your Beldum. Against my Regirock. Easy fight. The grunt then slowly walks off to try and deliver something to his commander, and I'm reunited with another NPC I don't care for, who seemingly has ignored the grunt entirely based on the timing of her entrance.
Some pointless dialogue later, Cynthia gives me a Secret Potion to use on the Psyducks of Route 210. Because Psyducks are on Route 210. Totally. This might come in handy if I stumble upon a Psyduck though. Anyway, let's head back to Pastoria to check out the situation with the Galactic Bomb which apparently wasn't all that serious, and ideally, get a new catch.
No sign of Wake, but let's head into the marsh anyway. Not like he's the reason I'm coming here. Unlike some people. Rep. Now then, what will I get here?
I can work with this, probably.
Now, what did I not catch?
Damn. Golbat or Slaking would have been great. I've also found the way to the next city. I guess let's head that way, which involves passing through a new route. And you know what that means. Another new catch! Let's see what I get gifted with here.
Ehhhhhhhhhhh... not much choice I guess. I missed you for Shyv last route.
Alright, what did I miss for Ana?
In any case, let's try to stealth through this route. That way, we can use the trainers for easy grinding for Fen and Ana between episodes.
Hey look, more plates.
Guess I can't dodge everyone. Let's just wreck these two with Lana and Ceto. I gotta say though, this is a pretty long route.
Looks like I've gotten through just fine though.
I appear to be lost. I'll wrap up this episode here in Hearthome and figure out where I'm supposed to go whilst grinding.
I'm rooting for Ana and Fen. Don't let them die.
Before trying to resolve the issue of my being lost though, I want to check out the Pokemon Mansion. I've never been here before.
Hey I can give this to someone and they'd be fast. Neat.
I wouldn't mind you being rich upper crust, but the fact that you're rubbing it in makes me want to destroy you. Which is what I'm here for anyway. I'm gonna enjoy destroying your pampered pokemon and whatever the girl behind me has.
Did I speak too soon?
FUCK THAT SHIT. Fortunately, Rich Boy Jason is not Smart Boy Jason, so he targeted Cenobia who ate that shit up instead of Fen who probably would have died. Switching Fen the fuck outta here though in case he decides to switch targets. Which he did. Fortunately, Ceto was able to take the hit pretty well. Minor heart attack aside, let's check out the mansion.
New catch boiz let's go!
Okay first of all, this garden looked way smaller from out front of the mansion. Secondly, why is there so much tall grass here anyway? Did the owner spend so much on other stuff that he forgot to hire gardeners? Oh well, let's see who's been living the high life among wild pokemon.
Dammit, Stratos. This is why your card isn't getting unbanned. Alright, what'd I miss out on?
Dupe clause, doesn't count
Ehhhh. I don't particularly like Togekiss anyway, and isn't its claim to fame para-flinching that it definitely won't be pulling off here? Let's explore the rest of the mansion, and hopefully get some more levels on Cenobia.
For just a second, I thought my eons-old quest to find a goddamn Prism Scale was finally over. It isn't. This is the wrong type of scale. Goddammit.
Sounds fun. Let's do it.
The rest of the maids didn't have anything interesting, but because my lead was Cenobia instead of Ceto, I wasn't able to sweep the lot of them in 6 turns like they demanded for my special prize. The rest of the mansion had nothing really worth talking about, bar a shitty TM (it's Vice Grip). Now, let's work out the situation of where I'm supposed to go. Fortunately, we have a town map.
There are a few cities on the mainland I haven't been to yet. It stands to reason I'll be visiting one of those. Since it's here with all the other cities I've tackled recently, I'll probably have to go to Sunyshore City. Let's rev up and head that way! Is what I would say. Except, upon further investigation of the routes, I probably have to go north. To Snowpoint City then!
Oh hey, it's those Psyducks Cynthia was talking about. I'm definitely going the right way. Get out of my way, stupid ducks!
Because I am the protagonist of a pokemon game, I am legally forced to accept your request. Saying no would give me a life sentence in prison at best.
Kid you do not want any of this. Now that you've wasted my time I'm obliged to find and ruin your friends as well.
Crap. Now I have to go to Oreburgh too. I better grab that second HM slave while I'm here, since you can't overwrite HMs with other HMs whoever decided that was a good idea.
Another legendary encounter? I can't even catch this one!
On another note, this fog thing is blatantly obnoxious for the sake of forcing you to use a shitty HM that you'll use maybe twice in the entire game. I hate it. Good riddance, fog.
Good. Fucking. Riddance. By some unknown miracle, nobody died on Route 210 despite the fact that the fog caused the entire squad to only have slightly better aim than a fucking squad of Stormtroopers. Now then, where's Cynthia's grandma?
It's probably you, because generic NPCs don't just talk to me without being at least minimally important to the plot. She warns us about a Galactic grunt out near the local cave who's threatening to blow up the town with a bomb. The shockwave from the explosion would probably clear the fog from Route 210, so honestly he'd be doing me a favor, but I'm the protagonist yadda yadda gotta be perfect, save everyone even though I actively dislike almost everyone living in this region.
However, because I have to be a paragon of morality, I end up battling the grunt instead. It really isn't that tough.
And my hunch about the hag was spot-on. She invites me to check out the ruins, which I'll actually be happy accepting. Hopefully it's a place where I can make a catch and not just an exposition dump.
Which it totally is. Except Cyrus shows up. And I have to fight him.
Cyrus's first two pokemon don't put up much of a fight, but his Wailord was a tanky motherfucker. Wailord and Cenobia duked it out for a while, but I ultimately came up on top, and got an HM for Surf for my efforts. I know somebody who can use this quite well.
Ugh, you again. If you were coming here so soon after my arrival, couldn't you have just delivered that stupid charm yourself? Anyway, we get some exposition about a library in Canalave City that implies I should be going there, but my map says that - by logical order of routes - I should keep going north like I was planning to in the first place. Shut up, Cynthia.
However, it seems I need both Rock Smash and Rock Climb to proceed (future me note: I didn't need both HMs and just have no idea how to navigate this inefficient-ass region). I guess it really is time to catch that second HM slave, a Minun that I have fittingly named TooHoMo. If you told me a few episodes ago that I'd be boxing Lord Explosion Murder in favor of an HM slave, I'd call you crazy. However, that is precisely what's happening right now, because everyone else has either turned out even stronger than her or needs grinding.
After some nosing around though, it seems I do have to go to the library place though. No problem lemme just fly halfway across Sinnoh just for you Cynthia you piece of shit. I still can't fathom how she wins the waifu wars when she's got the personality of a cardboard box and the convenience of a wet cardboard box.
Anyway, after a bit of moving along which in turn came after a ton of procrastination (oops), we've arrived at our destination.
Weren't you fawning over Crasher Wake just last episode? How did you get here before me? Rep wants to battle, and I of course will obli--
Oh. He's probably mad about the maid thing I did in the last episode. I will accept like 70% of the blame for this one. Still, you done fucked up now breh. She was just starting to come together into something really good. After Cenobia's death, Lana effortlessly sweeps pretty much the entirety of Rep's team, and I go to deposit my lesser legendary into the dead box. Just like most things I catch.
Sounds like a place where I can catch a wild pokemon. I'm in.
Let's catch something. Hopefully something that can vill the void Cenobia has left (it's more of a trench than a void tho).
You have a name and a sprite I haven't seen before. You must be the local Gym Leader (she isn't). Let's catch us a wild Pokemon.
I am supremely unamused. Let's see what I missed.
I never did like this stupid fish, but let's grind it between episodes anyway.
In Loving Memory:
Filler time, yay!
This would usually be the episode where I tackle the gym, but between fishing and apparently a couple freebies to be found in the Sinnoh Region, I've been missing out on a lot of potential friends. So let's start with the fishing! So, to review, today's checklist:
We'll start right here at Littleroot Town, where my adventure began in the first place!
Not my favorite thing in the world, but it'll have to do I suppose.
I was really really scraping the bottom of the barrel for these names. Now then, what did I miss out on for Four?
...oh. Dupe clause, bitch! Let's try that again.
GODDAMMIT. Kingdra's actually really cool. This sucks, but I guess I'll live.
I did not know this route existed. Let's catch something while we're here.
Pretty sure ground-type elephants cannot swim, but I lowkey love Donphan so this is a welcome addition to the team.
I'm happy with this catch tbh. Not gonna check what I missed out on for fear that it'll literally be llama-god himself.
I checked anyway. I am pleased once again. Next stop: Oreburgh. I want my fossil revived. Maybe it'll be something cool.
Exploud is pretty neat. I'll take this Loudred and evolve it later. Back to my grand fishing adventure.
So it somehow took this long for me to realize, but there are honey trees in this place, and I can use honey on them to get wilds. I guess there are encounters here, after all! Let's see what I've been missing out on for six episodes. However, honey takes six hours to take effect, so we'll come back to this tree later, possibly in a post-episode update. For now, let's just leave some honey here. Back to fishing!
But first, this house has one of the freebies! Gimme free shit!
Neat. I've been wondering who Sinnoh's "somebody" was for a while now. Guess we can check that mystery off the checklist as well.
Hell yeah I'd love an Eevee! Wait, does that count as dupe clause? Oh well, gimme the Eevee anyway!
Well that, that actually is dupe clause. What do I do now? Release Tova 2? Release Tova 1? Keep em both? Let me know how I should approach this bizarre situation. Back to my fishing tour of Sinnoh.
Wait... this is where Cynthia gave me Eggsalad. Does that count as my catch here? I'm gonna say it doesn't, but if I am wrong please let me know and I will release whatever it is I catch here.
...nevermind. I'll just kill it.
And now for Celestic Town.
Hmmm, nice. In honor of Rep's thread I know precisely what to name this one.
With the avatar having joined my team, let's head to Veilstone for my next freebie.
After the way Bebe betrayed me, I don't think that's gonna be a Porygon at all. In fact, I hope it isn't, because evolving Porygon in a randomizer where the items are also randomized is going to be bloody impossible.
That is indeed not a Porygon. Good. Let's wrap up this fishing tour around the region and then head for Iron Island to meet up with Riley.
I may not like Pastoria's gym all that much, but overall, I do like this city quite a bit. Hopefully I also end up liking whatever I catch in the waters here.
I can work with this.
This is cool. Hopefully Zipline stays cool when she evolves. For now, let's wrap up my fishing tour in the same place this episode started.
With any luck, this will be a good catch.
If I can catch this, I will be quite a happy boi.
Well, shit. Having thrown a small fortune's worth of Ultra Balls at this Entei and still having failed to catch it, I guess we'll have to call this area a bust. Damn shame. I would have loved to add another legendary to my collection. Guess we'll just have to clear out Iron Island and get the freebie from Riley.
OH WELL GEE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN REAL HELPFUL IF DEATHRAY DIDN'T DIE!
This is probably just going to be another Loudred, but let's swing back to Oreburgh at the end of the episode just in case. If it is a Loudred again, I'll just release it.
Give me my freebie. Except instead, Riley wants me to help him (apparently he's a guy), get through the rest of the island. Fine. Let's go.
Oh look, it's these nerds. Let's fuck em up.
As thanks for fucking up those nerds, Riley wants to give me an egg. Would've been nice if I knew it was an egg so that I could've left a slot open in my party, rather than going back to town just to box someone, just to come all the way back. But I have an egg. Let's head back to town again and hatch this shit.
And after quite a bit of waiting, it's time to see what my patience has been awarded with.
And Mobius actually has a pretty good movelist. I'll post here again in a few hours with an update on the honey tree from earlier when it's time for that, but for now I think we can call it an episode here.
Expect some potential party shifts next episode; I want to take a good look at who's boxed/in the party and figure out if there's anyone I can live without. Surprisingly, Lord Explosion Murder's been feeling a bit weak lately.
So I just realized that at the end of the last episode's recap, I put "In Loving Memory" instead of "On Hold", implying that I'd managed to kill everything I caught as well as everything that was previously boxed. Oops. Fixed that. Also, just so this has some semi-relevant content, I swung by Oreburgh with my other Root Fossil. It was another Loudred. I've released it as promised. It'll probably be a while before the next episode since I still have to figure out who I want to box from the team if anyone and grind up the new arrivals that replace them. Right now I'm thinking I'll box Lord Explosion Murder and Fen, that way if I do lose more Pokemon (which I'm gonna), I have solid replacements at the ready.
Whoops. Did I accidentally a two-month hiatus?
I even got to meet Ceto's time-oriented counterpart. Also, Lana ALMOST FUCKING DIED when a trainer's Dragonair used Rock Wrecker. Luckily, she's still alive and well. I'll report back after the grinding session is over.
Oh, also, I decided to keep Lord Explosion Murder and Fen unboxed, with the only new addition to the main party being Korra. If I manage to lose the likes of Lana, Stratos, and Ceto, this entire run is fucked anyway, so I may as well just keep using my best girls.
With the grinding session having concluded, there's not much to report. Lana and Fen hit levels where they'd learn new moves, but the new moves were awful so I had to pass on them. Lord Explosion Murder doesn't learn any moves by levelup. The one worth covering though, is Korra. She was just a shitty Tyrogue when I caught her about fifteen levels ago, but has since turned into a pretty decent Hitmontop. Here's what she's looking like.
Now then, let's tackle the sixth gym which is in a town that looks like it'd have the seventh or eighth gym.
Nice place. Really like the aesthetics here. Gonna put Stratos up in front so she can grab a few levels and hopefully a new move.
What do these do?
Ah, so we're Flannery boiz. Aight. This should be pretty easy then.
Easy, like I said. Let's scrabble.
Who, Roark? Yeah, he was...
...he was something, alright.
I'll whup your ass with Stratos just like I did with him, geezer.
Oh shit, he's got a shovel. I'm fucked.
Fortunately, although that Dragon Pulse chunked Stratos pretty hard, she was able to tank it out before Byron's Alakazam fell into a deep sleep via Yawn. And then an eternal sleep via repeated use of Rock Slide. Next.
However, from having Cenobia for a while, I know Regirock's moveset is absolute shit in this seed. Which made Byron's Regirock kind of a pushover. Now then, what's the climax of this fight gonna look like?
It's a Furret. IT'S A FUCKING FURRET. Which means...
That's my sixth badge! Easy money. Also a TM for Aerial Ace. I wonder if anyone can use it.
Hellllllll yeah. I never used Agility on Korra anyway, so I'm fine with replacing it with more coverage. Now then, what's next?
Oh, hi Rep.
What sort of fucking casual do you take me for? I'm gonna be the champ, or I will erase this world trying.
Dude I can't read, we've been over this. Ask anyone in RP. However, Rep insists on mocking my immense lack of reading comprehension skills, and won't take no for an answer on the library visit. What's so important about the library anyway?
YOU TRICKED ME!
Rowan gives a long-winded monologue about his very useful studies on evolution, some philosophical bullshit, and a mission for me to go to Lake Valor. Sounds pretty lame, but I guess I can--
My thoughts exactly! The fuck was that!?
Oh-ho, shit son. Turns out Team Galactic set off a bomb at Lake Valor. Because who else just has actual bombs lying around? Rowan's all like "But why at Lake Valor?" which makes me wonder how he got his professor degree in the first place. He was just talking about how there are legendary pokemon at the lakes, so putting two and two together isn't difficult, Rowan. Just check yourself into the retirement home already.
Rowan clearly has no idea who he's talking to. I always get in over my head, but it usually works out. Anyway, let's go meet up with Team Galactic at Lake Valor, since apparently I'm the only person in the world who's able to put two and two together to conclude that they're there to try and bait out the legendary pokemon then catch it.
Come to think of it, I haven't actually been here yet. Time to catch a new friend while I'm here I guess.
Oh look it's exactly what I said would happen.
Sounds like fun actually, but I'm not really equipped for that right now. I'll pass. I'll battle though, since you also want to do that apparently. Not much of a fight though. Also, for the first time in Locke & Load history, there's so much shit going on in the rom at once that my emulator is actually slowing down. Let's just get my business here done and over with ASAP.
Gyarados tho. You can evolve the Magikarps. Idiots.
I can't find any way to get wild encounters on Lake Valor quite yet, but there is this little cave here. Maybe I'll get an encounter here?
Also, Commander Saturn had a Chimchar. It had Spore and kept putting my shit to sleep, then when I switched into Fen I learned it had Magical Leaf. That's actually really bad, since Fen was probably the best tank on my team. Didn't even get a wild encounter for my troubles. That's tilting.
I'm gonna need a second dead box at this rate. Anyway, next stop: Lake Verity. Ugh.
Sorry Mars. I kinda like you, but I'm more or less explicitly at war with Team Galactic now. Can't spare anyone. Not even you.
You mean that place I wanted to go to in the first place? Sure, works for me. Would be a lot easier if FEN DIDN'T FUCKING DIE!
Would also be a lot easier if Sinnoh could at least have a semi-coherent layout, or even if Rowan would have been so kind to tell me how the actual fuck I get up to Route 216.
Oh look, the single shittiest and most frustrating gimmick in Pokemon history is back for round 2. I fucking hate SInnoh.
The good news is that this part of Mt. Coronet seems to register as a new zone. Guess I'm getting a Rampardos? If I'm wrong about the new zones thing please let me know so I can release this gal.
Name suggested by Chaos Sonic. Works out pretty well because YOU CAN'T FUCKING SEE ANYTHING WITH THE STUPID FOG ANYWAY.
Also I found a Meadow Plate, further expanding my collection of the Infinity Plates.
Now this I know is a new area. Let's see about a new catch.
Legitimately not worth the effort of catching it or the Leaf Stone to evolve it. Let's blaze our way through this route and meet up with Rep at Lake Acuity.
ALSO I MISSED THIS FOR THE EGG. YOU KNOW WHAT, FUCK THE RULES! I'M MAKING AN ACTIVE EFFORT TO CATCH THIS FUCK. HERE'S MY ONE "fuck the rules" CARD, BECAUSE I WANT IT.
Fuuuuuuuuck that shit. Better let Lana handle this.
It's not a "We hope to see you again", but I'm ending the episode here. Between almost losing Lana, actually losing Fen, the stupid egg, more fog, getting lost, and THE REGIGIGAS, I'm simply too filled with anger to trust my ability to get to the next town without doing something stupid that costs me a team member. No "On Hold" or "In Loving Memory" entries this episode since I don't have box access yet.
Ceto's in a box; I have both my HM slaves on me rn since you can't replace HMs with other HMs (which is TOTAL BULLSHIT) and I had no idea which HMs I'd need. Also, I'm still gonna catch that Regigigas. No amount of "but the rules" can stop me. I will catch it or lose this nuzlocke trying.
Dude I can't read, we've been over this. Ask anyone in RP.
Can confirm...he can't read for crap!
On the other side: yaaaaaaaay new episode! Though I feel you on half of this episode...especially with what you were ending up getting through. The feels man...oh and you are totally welcome for the name of Toph! I do what I can to please!
Regigigas is gonna be shit and not worth the effort and you're bad at Pokemon.
Someone had to say it :P
Not with that attitude...also...I saw this on the front page of YCM in the preview: "Regigigas is gonna be HELL YEAH and not worth the effort and you're bad at Pokemon. Someone had to say it :P" ....quite odd.
Anyway: YOU CAN DO IT YUI!! You can finish a Nuzlocke and become Sinnoh champ!!!
Man, what an episode. Just the fact that it took four hours overall should speak of how crazy this is.
Let's see if Cow is in fact psychic. But before we can do that, we have to meet our soon-to-be forced capture.
That's not a Regigigas.
That's definitely not a Regigigas.
That's a lesser version of Lana. Not Regigigas.
As much as I would love a Honchkrow, that's not what we're here for.
That's not Regigigas either.
Oof. I'd really love a Metagross. But I cashed in my one "fuck the rules" card specifically for Regigigas, so I'll have to pass on this monster.
You're mine this time, fucker.
THIS TRANSGRESSION CANNOT BE FORGIVEN!!
Several Regigigas encounters later
Also, Lana died. I give up. Fuck this seed. The entire run is fucked now that they're dead anyway; Ceto's strong, but can't carry the nuzlocke alone, and my other two star players just died. There's no saving this run anymore. Learned my lesson. Back to square one.
What will Rowan give us that will fail to fill the void in my heart left by the tragic losses of Stratos and Lana?
After about an hour of deep thought and consideration, I opted for Vigoroth. Let's see what she's packing.
Am I the Monokubs-era swear filter? Because HELL YEAH! Anyway, let's hurry up, meet Rowan, get some balls, and make our first few catches. But first...
Also, Rowan gave us a TM for Growl. Anyway, let's buy some balls, get our freebie, and start taking names. Starting with Route 201 of course.
Oh. Look who came back for round 2.
And now Lake Verity.
Welp. Back to the dead box you go, Kat.
Okay, as pathetic as it is that I just lost to a Level 3 Magby simply because it refused to be caught for like three straight turns, that's actually pretty fucking funny. I actually feel a bit better about the Regigigas now. Let's try this again.
This is one of the easier starter choices I've had this run. I'll take the Umbreon.
Let me tell you the story of how I almost lost this nuzlocke right out the gates. Rep's Clefairy has Color Change as its ability. My Umbreon is faster. My Focus Blast popped its Color Change, making it Fighting-type, and it then proceeded to use Mirror Move, hitting Umbreon with a STAB Focus Blast. Luckily, she lived.
Also, I named my Umbreon Callisto. And Rowan's TM this time round is for Close Combat. Gonna hang on to this. Now then, let's see what Route 201 offers me.
Shit. This early in the game, I'll have to take what I can get though.
Or Callisto can just one-shot it. Okay. Let's try Lake Verity.
Rather predictably, Onix also died in one hit. Let's try Route 202?
This will probably die too.
Yup. Luckily, the first trainer down got Callisto to Level 8, and she learned Bullet Seed. Maybe now she can avoid immediately killing every wild she lays eyes on. Let's hurry along and try our luck on the routes around Jubilife City. Starting of course with Route 204.
Oh look, one of the stupidest and most gimmicky Pokemon ever. Whatever. Let's try and catch it I suppose.
Oops~ Let's try Route 218.
Yeah I'll take it.
And now let's go back to Twinleaf Town right quick for some additional fishing.
And on our way back let's give Route 219 a shot.
BACON YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!
Bacon died. Serves her right. Piece of shit.
That just leaves Route 203. Of course, before we can catch anything there, we have to fight Rep.
Ew this thing again. Luckily, Callisto is well-equipped to kill it, and Yellostone kills off Rep's Clefairy pretty easily. Now, what can I catch for my troubles?
Yes please. Forgot to screenshot it, but I caught it, and named her Grimekhala. Apparently there are elephants in Shin Megami Tensei and that's what they're called. Now then, what's in Oreburgh Gate?
Challenge failed. However, this episode isn't QUITE over yet! There are still two more areas that can give me catches. Let's do Route 207 first, so that I can get the mine catch and also pull Roark out of the mines at the same time.
DUDE WHAT IS WITH THESE LEGENDS?
Now then, let's grab one last catch, meet up with Roark, and call it an episode, because hoo boy has this been an episode.
Looks like we're collecting Infinity Stones in this run too. Anyway, with Roark waiting for us at the gym, I think it's time to call it an episode. Wew. This was sure an eventful one.
You started off with an Umbreon in the new run...that's already a plus for me, since Umbreon is my favorite!
But then you catch Celebi?! Which now come to think of it, Mythicals most likely have a lower catch rate than Legendaries do...least I think...don't quote me on that. So only natural that you're able to catch that...still, congrats on your current team and I expect more from Callisto and the crew!
