Gashadokuro

It's been a looooong time since I posted in this forum. Anyway, I've wanted to do something for a while and this popped in my mind.

Gashadokuro
Level: 7* | Attribute: DARK | Zombie-Type | Effect
If you have 9 or more monsters in your Graveyard, except this card, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard). You can only Special Summon "Gashadokuro" this way once per turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster in your Graveyard; attach it to this card. This card's original ATK and DEF are equal to half the combined ATK and DEF of all monsters attached to it by this effect. If this card would be removed from the field by a card effect: you can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard instead. Destroy this card if there are no monsters in your Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Gashadokuro".
?/?

It's effect is based inthe mythical creature with the same name. Gashadokuro are humongous skeleton-like yokais that are summoned from the amassed bones of people who died of starvation. They wander looking for everything they had before leaving this world, bitting the head off their victims They're said to be invisible and indestructible, and disappear only when their source of energy has emptied.

Anyway, my OCG maybe off, so CnC would be so appreciated.

Not really sure where this card would fit in a Deck nowadays. Granted, a lot of Decks do utilize the Graveyard a lot, but they don't really have the space for a simple power booster, nor do I think they can even get 9+ monsters into the Graveyard. Maybe about 5-6 on average nowadays unless you're Zombies. The 9 monster requirement should keep this card alive for a good amount of time, but problem is fulfilling that condition. You can still spam Extra Deck monsters and the like to get the requirement, but yeah. Maybe lower the summon condition a bit.

Lawnmowing exists tho, even before you get into Zoodiac engine into Kagutsuchi

This card is asking for trouble. First, no hard OPT clause on its Summon means you can use it repeatedly as a material for a Summon and bring it back every time.

The protection effect is kind of a abusive because it applies even if you would use the card as Tribute or costs, and being able to, let's say, Tribute Summon monsters by banishing a card from the grave as Tribute... well, it is prone to going wrong. I suggest to make the effect apply only if the card would be removed from the field by a card effect; that way you still get solid protection without messing with mechanics or playing around card costs. Not to mention that the way you wrote it, it is able to protect itself from its own effect, which can be used to instantly banish all monsters in your grave, which may sound counterproductive, but still, there are few cards that could take advantage of it (e.g. Guardian Eatos inherent summoning condition).

By the way, attaching cards to non-Xyz monsters isn't a thing, so that effect alone turns this into an Experimental card. The legit alternative is equipping the monster to this card.

Text fix implementing the above suggestions:

If you have 9 or more monsters in your Graveyard, other than this card: You can Special Summon this monster from your hand or Graveyard. You can only Special Summon "Gashadokuro" this way once per turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster in your Graveyard; equip it to this card. This card's original ATK and DEF is equal to half the combined ATK and DEF of all monsters equipped to it by this own effect. If this card would be removed from the field by a card effect, you can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard instead. Destroy this card if there are no monsters in your Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Gashadokuro".

Note: the self-destruction effect is intended to be a maintenance cost, and thus is unable to protect itself from its own destruction with its effect.

Kind of have the idea of making a full Yokai-like set that can actually be run in the actual meta.

However, this card was made out of fun, therefor, the 9 monsters requirement is there cause 9 is a number of bad luck in Japan.

Might as well change it's type to Zombye. Makes more sense tho.

Ty, looking at both comments, this actually looked as a raw idea.

Going to make the SS once per turn, also changing the protection effect as you requested (bad choose of words while writting the effect.

Attaching cards looks like a more optimal mechanic in this card, giving a chance to make this card bulky. Might as well, for game logics, change it to equipping the monster.

This is maybe a stupid question, but: "Destroy this card if there are no monsters in your Graveyard." turns into a condition rather than an effect, right?
