Webcomic Recommendations

Webcomics! They're not manga, they're webcomics! Post links to ones you like and/or are reading, and let people know what you think about them. Me, I have four in-progress and one completed.

Kill Six Billion Demons: Girl gets a key to the multiverse embedded in her skull by a freshly-decapitated king, finds out that she is to inherit the throne of God. Note: the plot of this comic is as layered as an onion, and the art is about as complex. Feels at times like a fantasy version of "Where's Waldo?"

Check, Please!: Ex-figure skater joins college hockey team. Shenanigans ensue. Note: MC is gay, and... well, it's a plot point. Will leave it at that. I spoil nothing.

Paranatural: Middle schoolers can see ghosts, join club to fight said ghosts, go on wacky adventures. Like if Bleach was set in a kindergarten or something. Note: I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I have on some of the pages here. This guy is a master of comedic timing.

Not Drunk Enough: Repairman gets trapped in a lab with a bunch of monsters, fights said monsters. Note: it's by the same artist as Hanna is Not a Girl's Name. Which I'm still slightly bitter that it got abandoned.

Nine Planets Without Intelligent Life: A couple of robots go on an "existential road trip" throughout the Solar System after getting laid off. Is completed, and is a relatively quick read at that. Note: it's very heavy on the philosophical tracts. Still very enjoyable. (Also the format is sorta weird but it works.)

So, now it's your turn. Gogogogo!

Digger, a personal favourite. Completed black and white comic, amazing atmosphere, characters and wit. Writing overall is just par excellence. Cannot recommend it enough.

I know some others already know about The Property of Hate, but it is also high on my adoration scale. Very imaginative, gorgeous and everything I ever wanted in my fantasy.

And to complete the trifecta, Power Nap. It's rare to see actual graphic novel-style webcomics, and it looks so good. Despite its vibrancy, it manages to pull off an air of uncertainty regarding the society it is set in more comparably to Jacob's Ladder than say Watchmen.

Let's then move on to Scurry, which is what you might get if you took Watership Down, updated it a little and mixed in a tiny bit Redwall. It's stunning to look at and positively riveting to read.

I might be overselling here. And I might reserve a post just for the gay stuff. And more of the others when I think of some. I just don't want to clog up a single post with this.

Well, I guess, I'm a fan of Bob and George? That kinda counts yeah? It's very childish, amateur-ish comic humor and that really got me when I was younger. Still reread it every once in a while.

I read that one quite recently, enjoyed it as far as I remember. The MegaMan one right?

No one in particular asked, but here's some gay stuff anyway.

Boy in Pink Earmuffs. Puppy love, adorable, very well-written.

Jamie, if you really want some awkward highschool stuff.

Broken Glass is possibly the hottest SFW webcomics I've ever read. The author has got Ship Tease down to an artform. And it looks so good.

George and Johnny for more of Jamie's niche.
