King's Field

Recommended Posts

So I've been using my main deck "King's Field" for awhile and it has been pretty good for me. To be fair the deck has gone through different versions as I have adapted the original formula. There are actually three different King's Field decks I use, but I mostly use the latest one right now.

The gimmick is that the deck has a lot to do with knights and royalty. Right now I am working on King's Field IV but I simply don't really know where to take this. I don't just want to make small edits for this edition I want to completely redefine it in a way.

Are there any format and/or flavor conditions or restrictions for the deck? I see the screenshots are from some sort of game, so not all cards may be available.

But, for instance, if OCG stuff is available, then you could very well try True Draco/Kings, since, well, they got some Kings in there :v

If you want mostly Warriors and monsters with "King" or "Knight" in their names, then the True Dracos wouldn't fit too well, but True Kings as techs should still be options.

Another option you could try, with cards I can see in the screenshots, is a Demise deck. Since you got some Normals, Advanced Ritual Art can be used to Summon it. The deck will function better if "Pre-preparation of Rites" is available.

Yu-Gi-Oh: Legacy of the Duelist so no OCG cards.

What about a Synchro deck that utilises King's Synchro? http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/King's_Synchro

You can use Interrupted Kaiju Slumber to nuke the field, and then Summon a Kaiju (the King of Monsters) to each side of the field. You then use your Kaiju as Synchro material and the opponent's Kaiju is forced to attack by the effect of Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, which triggers King's Synchro!

If you use a Level 7 Kaiju and a Level 1 Tuner, you can Synch into the sort-of kingly Angel of Zera, which will summon itself in your standby phase if banished by King's Synchro.

Banishing Zera and the Level 1 Tuner you used previously grants you easy access to a powerful (if not so kingly) Synch-9 pool, since King's Synchro allows you to ignore those pesky summoning requirements. Here's a list of decent sheet you can make

  • Hot Red Dragon Archfiend - 3200 quick negate
  • Crystron Phoenix - punish your opponent for setting S/T in the main phase 1! This also powers up Angel of Zera by 100 ATK for each S/T banished, which includes those in the graveyard and can therefore get rather hefty. Also floats into any monster upon destruction.
  • Trishula during the opponent's Battle Phase - ouch! Also boosts Angel of Zera by 300 ATK
  • Mist Wurm - great for clearing the field
  • Locomotive R-Genex - non targeting permanent monster stealing!

Anyway, these are just ideas. I got rather carried away lawl. Good luck!

Oh also, maybe check out the Tyrant's series of Trap cards. They wouldn't work with the deck I've suggested, but they are King themed and work if you want to keep the high amount of Normal monsters in your King's Field 4.

These are all amazing ideas! Thank you so much.

My only obstacle right now is whether I have those cards or not. If not, I'll have to buy a couple more packs but I will get em in no time.

Be aware that if you use Mirror Force (or any similar card) in response to your opponent's attack, you can then chain King's Synchro and summon a Synchro monster while removing the opponent's monster(s).

If you do use the above tactic however, don't Summon Trishula as it will have been Summoned as Chain Link 2 and because the last the to happen wasn't Trishula's Synchro Summon, it will miss the timing for its effect and you won't be able to banish any cards. The other Level 9 Synchros I suggested are fine however.
