Honeybot looks fairly potent, depending on its mats. I reckon it'll probably be 2 Effect Monsters.

Honeybot is two Cybers-Type monsters and Link Spider is 4 or lower, according to the wikia. Anyway, they are giving us more generics than Wyrm did, hehe. Link Slayer and Draconet, they can make Decode Talker right away, which is silly, though it won't have anything to Link with yet, but still, that's a cute thing to do.

wait guys, so realistically there only ever be 2 non-link ED monsters on field? Think about it this way

L (v)

(<)L(>)

You can get out 3 ED monsters with a Link Monster that have 3 that go down, down left and down right, in fact, if your opponent has a Link Monster in the Extra Monster Zone that point up in any way, you could even Summon 5 ED monsters potentially. It's probably an unlikely situation, but hey, it could happen.

So 1-material Link Monsters are a thing, neat. And they can have as little as 1 Link arrow, too. I like this because it means you can make use of them to avoid Linking any of your opponent's Main Monster Zones. Also, wouldn't surprised if they released Link Monster with now arrows, sacrificing chain formation for an stronger card.

And Spider... if it can only link into 1 Zone, then when it uses its effect its Link chain will be locked, while you will be unable to use that Normal Monster for an Extra Deck Summon. And you cannot have a Link chain somewhere else if you have Spider around because it only opens a chain below it, so it must be placed in the Extra Deck in order to use its effect. If only Link Monster had Levels, then you could use Spider along the Normal monster for a Synchro or Xyz Summon.

Draconet + Galaxy Serpent for a quick and cheap Synchro5 is nice.

Spider thing, you could Synchro or Xyz Summon with the Normal Monster INTO that same linked zone I would believe, or you could use Spider for another Link Summon for something that opens up more options.

Oh right, using that same Linked Zone for an Extra Deck monster should be possible. And one can swap Spider with another Link Monster, of course. I didn't think about that; I'm still familiarizing with the new mechanic xD

Oh, not a quite relevant comment, but I like Honeybot's artwork xD

Kind wish it had more generic material requirements and was an actual Insect-Type, though. That Type needs some love and presence every now and then IMO.

Inb4 Digital Bugs were supposed to be Cyber-type

Also, I'm curious on Link Slayer's name. Its effects have literally nothing to do with stopping link monsters...

Also, does Draconet remind anyone of Junk Synchron? If Extra Deck mechanics weren't just completely overhauled, I'd think there'd be a Synchro turbo deck with those 2 making up the core of the deck.

Goddamn it new Type

It's even worse this time because these definitely actually could have gone into extremely underrepresented Types like Insects, Beasts, and Psychics, in contrast to Wyrms which corresponded closest to oversupported Dragons

Pretty much how I felt.

This niche is covered by Psychic and Machine, idrg why it needed to be seperated from those.

also draconet is dumb because tuners exist lol

The org think the OCG meant Cyverse when they decided the type's name after looking at Cybenet Universe. I know I might be too late.

I had seen that after I posted, yeah, though I don't really see that as an explanation as to why they decided on that, I mean, a type and them trying to dodge the "Cyber" Archetype are different things, but I suppose that it's better to just go with it since people are already starting to adopt this change.
