Sky Archer

Originally part of an archetype.  The archetype wasn't good, so I scrapped it and recycled this card for general purpose.  The idea was a flying archer that removes that backrow with a follow up kick to the effects.

[Effect Monster | LIGHT | Level 6 | 2300 ATK | 2000 DEF]

Lore: When this card is summoned, you can target 1 Spell or Trap your opponent controls and banish it. Once per turn, you can target one monster on the field and negate it's effects. This card can attack your opponent directly, but the damage is halved.

at level 6, it's probably better off as a synchro. not that some deck couldn't find a use for it, but having to tribute for a monster that does, essentially the same thing as a myriad of level 4 or lower monsters, and has no other real strengths, is rather weak. if you want it to be worth dropping onto the board, let it hit up to 2 spell or traps like mobius. otherwise it'll be generally outclassed in that area by mobius, the effect negation is nice though, so i suppose it has it's niche there, but even then, the need to tribute for him kind of hurts the reward. not completely, but outside of archetypes, this kind of monster doesn't really have too much going for it.

if anything, i'd say either let it hit 2 s?t's and instead of effect negation, or make it either bounce threats, or banish them once per turn. it may seem a bit strong, but this kind of monster won't live past 2 turns usually, so basically, buff one of the first two effects, and it'd be pretty good overall.

Huh, it looks insane to me. Despite requiring 1 Tribute for its Normal summon, its effects far outweigh the cost with the x2 Cosmic Cyclone effect AND the OPT quick effect monster negation. And as if that wasn't enough, the Spell/Trap removal effect triggers on any Summon so you can resort to Special Summoning, or Normal Summoning it without Tribute through support cards like Domain of Monarchs, and so on. Heck, I dare to say the effect negation alone is enough to make this good, in decks that can sustain Level6 monsters of course; that's why Kozmoll Dark Lady sees sometimes use as tech in, for instance, Metalfoes, which can Pendulum Summon it.

After all that, the direct attack effect is pretty much an overkill.

In short, it's too good for a Normal Summomable Level6 with any kind of summoning restriction IMO. Remove the direct attack effect and water down 1 of the remaining effects somehow and it will be fine. Keep in mind the first effect is already better than Mobius'.
