The discovery of the Floating Island of Shangri-La, the defeat of the legendary Dragon of Amon, even the unsealing of the immortal Phoenix - these and more are the sort of exploits credited to the legendary guilds scattered throughout Arbolia's history. Many new guilds have tried to pick up the torch and carry on this legacy, but most burn up and die before they even get close.

Still, the promise of fame and fortune has been more than enough to keep people interested.

And that includes Cherry Heart, the cheery-hearted guild. After failing to rise up from obscurity years before, they've now returned with a new determination. And with a brave new world to tame and explore, they're sure that this time, they will rise to the top and join the ranks of legends!

[spoiler=Subpar Sage]

"Hello, my name is Jīn. Do you know the way to the Cherry Heart guild?"

Name: Jīn Chánzǐ

Age: 26
Sex: Male
Species/Race: Human
[spoiler=Appearance:]
5sXC5xfnCXI.jpeg
5'11" (180.34 CM), 177 LBS (80.28 KG). Doesn't have the tattoos.

[spoiler=Personality:]
Wéi wúwéi (爲無爲) is debatably one of the most important tenets of Taoism, and is defined as the belief that one should not interfere with spontaneity, or alter it by any means. Alternatively, the belief that the universe has a way of working everything out in the end, and all you must do is make sure you aren't in the way of that. Disciples of the religion often pretty it up and describe it as "creative passivity". This is one of the largest reasons Jīn never fit in with the with the other disciples, because he cannot just sit back and watch as things go wrong. "A river may flood, but from the wreckage new crops will bloom," they would tell him, and he would respond, "but what of all those who drowned in the flooding?"

Jīn is compassionate and empathetic to the plights of others. He doesn't see it as black and white, or good people and bad people. A person is the sum of their actions, good and bad, and it isn't his place to judge them for that. Yet Jīn's conscious won't allow him to let people do bad things if he can stop them. It's something he's struggled with all his life. "If a Dark Guild rises, a new one will come to stop them eventually. Such is the way of things," he was told, but if everyone thought like that, no one would ever come because they would always be waiting for someone else to do it.

As a result of his frequent clashes with the core concepts of Taoism, Jīn feels like he often doesn't belong. This is especially worsened by the fact that he's in a foreign land that's nothing like his home, with very different customs and people. He's hungry for knowledge on different cultures, and is somewhat naive because of his upbringing in a temple. It's not uncommon for him to misinterpret the shortcomings or quirks of an individual as a custom, such as odd handshakes, and then he'll continue to awkwardly repeat them until someone corrects him. His hunger for knowledge isn't culturally restricted, either, and he loves to learn new things. He's a good listener, and a fantastic storyteller. His favorite tale to tell is the story of Sun Wukong and his legendary Journey to the West, and he lights up like a child when reenacting them.

Jīn changes noticeably when under the influence of Sun Wukong. He is mischievous, overly dramatic, and taunting. He loves to toy with those around him, and he can become angry very easily if they try to make a fool out of him. Then he'll shout loudly about being "THE GREAT SAGE, EQUAL OF HEAVEN" and the mistake they've just made by crossing him. It wears off as quickly as it comes, but the suddenness can surprise people who don't know of his abilities.

[spoiler=Biography:]
Jīn was raised in a Taoist temple far across the sea, on the continent of Jianghu. He had a very sheltered upbringing, interacting only with devout monks and other children who had taken oaths to never be unkind or lie.  Jīn struggled from the beginning with following the most basic of Taoist concepts, such as the fourth precept (false speech), or at least in comparison to the other students. He tried his best, but he always felt like he was the bird trapped in a cage, restricted by what was supposed to be his home. His greatest solace back then was found in the library, reading tales of the legendary Sun Wukong and his epic Journey to the West (Arbolia). Jīn saw himself in Sun Wukong, except Sun Wukong had the courage to challenge the system when he thought it was wrong. The Monkey King was punished for his insolence at every turn, even by the Great Buddha himself at one point, but he never let anyone stop him.

The further Jīn looked into Sun Wukong’s story, though, the clearer it became that it didn’t end. No one knew where Sun Wukong had gone, or what had happened to him after he came back from the West. Jīn, too curious for his own good, slowly began together his own theories about what had happened to his hero using dusty scrolls and tomes of times long forgotten. Some were so old, even the slightest touch caused them to crumble. Eventually, Jīn decided his research had to be put to the test. He was eighteen, wasting away in a temple, with too many questions and no good answers to any of them. His first goal? Journey to Mount Huaguo, the Flowers and Fruit mountain, and the supposed birthplace of Sun Wukong.

Armed only with his Nimbus Magic and a map,  Jīn set out, determined to find his answers. The journey was rigorous, and in the first few months he quickly learned that not everyone was as kind as the monks were. It only took him just under a week to get scammed out of the money the monks had given him for food and supplies, and two weeks after that he learned that it was best to get some form of payment for a job before doing it, otherwise they would claim he hadn’t done what they asked. It was disheartening, but it was a learning experience, and it got easier for him once he made it to the mountains. He could create his own shelter with Nimbus Magic, and most of the monsters living in the area weren’t dangerous enough to pose a serious threat.

Eventually, Jīn made it to his destination -- a cavern, hidden behind the mountain’s waterfall. He saw no indication the Monkey King had ever been there, but the legends said that it was where he had become the king of monkeys, and Jīn had come too far to back out. He took a leap of faith through the waterfall, and miraculously, landed on top of an iron bridge that hadn’t been visible before. He followed it across the gap to the cavern, and then, he ventured further in. It was exciting, to the say the least, but it was also terrifying. This was the moment of truth, where the man would learn if his theories had been correct or not. Miraculously, they were.

Jīn stumbled upon the Rúyì Jīngū Bàng on an overgrown pedestal in the cavern. It was deceptively plain, and would’ve been easy to overlook if he hadn’t been paying close attention. The moment he touched it, he was overwhelmed with a myriad of powerful emotions. Fear, confusion, anger, pride, love, remorse, loneliness. Foreign memories jumped up to the front of his mind, of places ancient and long forgotten. A journey across a vast sea with several companions, to a massive continent flooded with magic and wonder. Jīn almost lost himself in them, but just when it was getting hard to remember who he was, everything stopped. There was a presence that hadn’t been there before, pulling him back to the real world. It was boisterous and unbelievably powerful. It weighed on Jīn, on his mind and body, stopping him from doing much anything in response.

“Hoohoohe, I was beginning to think you’d forgotten about me Sanzang. What took you so long, old friend?” the spirit asked. His voice had been nothing like Jīn had expected, high-pitched and smug.

“Zōngshī Wukong, I am not who you believe. You have been asleep for a very long time,” Jīn had told him.

Instantly, the Rúyì Jīngū Bàng had become too heavy for him to hold. It hit the ground with enough force that it cracked the stone beneath it, and then the mountain began to shake with Sun Wukong’s anguish. Jīn was forced to throw up his strongest Nimbus construct to protect himself from falling debris, and he was stuck within it for what felt like hours until Sun Wukong’s rage began to subside and the mountain stilled. Cautiously, Jīn emerged, approaching the Rúyì Jīngū Bàng and touching it again. Sun Wukong’s presence returned, quieter this time, and he asked Jīn several questions about how long he had been asleep.

3,500 years. The world had changed a lot. Sun Wukong didn’t pay much attention to Jīn after that, but he gave him some clear instructions: Journey to the West. Find his lost artifacts, and in return, he would grant him strength. That’s how Jīn found himself across the sea, in Arbolia, and unbeknownst to him, near the base of Cherry Heart.

[spoiler=Abilities/Equipment:]
[spoiler=Nimbus Magic:]
Jīn isn't very powerful without the aid of Sun Wukong. As a child, he lacked the natural aptitude for magic that generally defines mages. To circumvent this, Jīn studied Nimbus Magic -- the magical ability to generate and manipulate clouds. It isn't a very aggressive form of magic, and is mostly only used for constructions.
  • Cloud Wall: Jīn constructs a durable wall of clouds in a area. The largest he can make this wall is 10 feet (3.04 meters) long, and 7 feet (2.16 meters) tall.
  • Cloud Platform: Jīn can create a variety of platforms depending on what he's in need of. This includes things like small bridges, stairs, and support beams.
[spoiler=Péngyǒu (朋友):]
weeee.jpg
Péngyǒu -- more commonly referred to as Péng -- is a semi-sentient cloud construct. Jīn created it when he was twelve, and it has been his most trusted companion ever since. Péng is unique in the fact that it is self-sustaining, and can ferry Jīn like a mount from place-to-place. Like a true living being, Péng can get tired. When it does, it will start to droop and slow down, before finally collapsing to the ground in a huff. Jīn adores Péng, and will take offense to anyone insinuating the cloud is any less than a real being.
  • Maximum speed is 35 miles per hour.
  • Can only travel for around 15 miles before it needs to rest.

[spoiler=Sealed Spirit Magic:]
A very unique and ancient type of magic. It is basically using the power of a spirit (Sun Wukong) that is sealed inside an item or a person (the Ruyi Jingu Bang) to help bolster your own abilities. It is mentally and spiritually taxing, and requires much more practice than most magic to even scratch the surface. Jīn is an amateur at best, toying with a power far greater than even he realizes.
  • Golden Eyes of the Monkey King: Jīn's eyes turn bright, glow-in-the-dark gold. He can see through all but the most powerful illusions while channeling Sun Wukong's power.
  • 1000 Years of Martial Knowledge: Jīn has access to Sun Wukong's unmatched martial knowledge. He can adjust to any and all situations hand-to-hand. The only exception to this is if the combat style was newly created within the past 3000 years, but even so, he'll probably be able to identify what the basis of it was.

[spoiler=Ruyi Jingu Bang:]
An ancient, magical staff that houses the spirit of the Monkey King. It is immensely powerful -- indestructible, as far as Jīn knows -- but will only allow itself to ever be wielded by its chosen master. Jīn can shrink it down to the size of a pin, and he does so often to store it in his ear, and the maximum height he can grow it to is 10 feet (3.04 meters).

[spoiler=Sun Wukong’s History: Pre-Journey]
  • There is a great battle between two unbelievably powerful mages at the summit of Mount Huaguo. Sun Wukong is birthed from stone due to the massive amount of lingering magic in the area.
  • He looks to be a monkey, and is taken in by the tribe of monkeys that roams the jungles near the base of the mountain.
  • Quickly becomes the Monkey King, showcasing his bravery by venturing behind the waterfall to find out where the stream they drank from was coming from.
  • Leads them for many years, enjoying his life of luxury, but grows discontent when one of his advisors tells him about death. He is scared of dying, and wants to live forever.
  • Sun Wukong sets out from his home in search of immortality. It’s a long and rigorous journey, but he does learn many things along the way. He possesses a natural aptitude for magic, and a - seemingly - bottomless pool of energy. He picks up many useful techniques, such as the Art of 72 Transformations, a type of magic that allows him to (mostly) alter his form, and the Somersault Cloud, letting him somersault into the sky at unrivaled speeds.
  • He doesn’t find the secret to immortality, though. Sun Wukong spends a hundred years searching for it, but it continues to elude him. He comes across many ways to increase his lifespan; the peaches of immortality, a handful of pills that sends a kingdom into a riot when he steals them, but never the true key to not dying.
  • Sun Wukong is lead to believe that Ao Kuang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, knows the secret. When the Monkey King arrives, however, the Dragon King doesn’t know. Sun Wukong demands he tell him, and in his anger, Ao Kuang attacks him. Sun Wukong defeats the Dragon King with his bare hands, and then to further dishonor him, he takes the Dragon King’s tide controlling staff, the Ruyi Jingu Bang, as well as his magic set of armor.
  • The Jade Emperor, ruler of all the land, catches word of the trouble Sun Wukong is causing and orders that the Monkey King be captured. Sun Wukong soundly defeats all those who are sent to capture him.
  • Eventually, an army is sent to capture him, lead by Nezha and Erlang Shen, some of the Jade Emperor’s most trusted generals. After a long battle, and a game of cat and mouse, they manage to detain the Monkey King.
  • They try to execute him, but nothing can kill him after all the peaches and pills he stole. They try to burn him in the Eight Trigram Furnace, but he emerges from the flames with skin like iron and eyes of fire, unscathed. When he does, they don’t expect it, and he manages to destroy the courtyard and escape.
  • Exasperated, the Jade Emperor appeals to the strongest monk in the kingdom to capture Sun Wukong.
  • The monk sets out, and capture the Monkey King he does, deceiving the would-be immortal by exploiting his pride. Once he has been tricked, the monk turns his hand into a giant mountain to imprison Sun Wukong with. Not even the Monkey King’s vast power can allow him to escape.

Sun Wukong's Age: 1800ish. 5300ish after waking up.

As Cohost, I express my interest.

Roster will go here. Because I was here before Tom.

[spoiler=Elementals]Elementals are creatures or spirits that are comprised of a certain element. They can be artificially made, but there are naturally occurring ones. They usually have control of the element they are made of, and are weak to ones that are normally thought as their opposites. Known elements that can be elementals are fire, water, ice, earth, wind, and lightning. There may be more, but they are undiscovered at the moment.

It is under great debate if things like Golems count as elementals.

[spoiler=Beastkins]Beastkins are a blanket term for any humanoid species that have animal like features, a good example being Kasayee. In the past, it was a derogatory term, and many still take offense to it. Unless it's one beastkin to another. That magically makes it okay!!

[spoiler=Kasayee]

Name: Kasayee, The Lazy Lizard Druid

Age: 24

Sex: Female

[spoiler=Appearance]ohWDyo5.jpg

5'2" 110 pounds

Does wear clothing. But not all the time. And more of her body is scaled than on the image. At least 1/4 of it is covered in scales. The branch horns do not exist either. Though her magic can sprout them. And her fingernails are sharper than normal.

[spoiler=Personality] Kasayee is an odd girl, to most humans. She’s incredibly lazy, and doesn’t like to do work unless needed, yet she finds herself spurred to action to prevent heinous acts. She desires a world where everyone is peaceful and everyone can live a life of relaxation.
She knows she needs to work to achieve this, but she more often than not just lazes around and dreams of the world she desires.
She doesn’t seem to understand why all people don’t take life as easy as she does. Has a great understanding of the natural world, and knows that bad things happen, and that’s okay. She is the least judgmental person you’ll meet, and seems to give the same regard for human and animal life alike. That being said she’s fine with eating animals, because it’s just the natural state of the world. However she tends to only eat just what she needs to survive.
Doesn’t have much regard for laws created by people, only the “true law" of nature. She lives her life ignoring rules and laws when possible, but she does understand she could be punished for this, so she avoids it when needed.
Can be surprisingly fierce when provoked, and has an even sharper tongue than claws. She doesn’t have a filter and so she’ll often say whatever is on her mind. When enraged this is often venomous and potentially hurtful things. And when doing so she’s unapologetic, unless it’s someone she cares about. Which are few in numbers.
Protective of the young, as she views them as something that must be nurtured so they can grow and continue the cycle, Kasayee can be described as motherly. Though this isn’t entirely accurate. She doesn’t coddle, though she isn’t as fierce towards children as others. Still, she doesn’t quite understand how to talk to children and can sometimes come off as frightening.
Due to her Druidic nature, Kasayee has much insight onto the workings of the world, and occasionally seems to zone off as though conferring with others on certain matters.
Tends to rely on instinct to decide things for her, believing that there is a reason she feels certain pulls and is drawn to certain decisions without any rhyme or reason.

[spoiler=Biography]Kasayee was born into the Druidic Order. While her mother was pregnant, as all of her race do, she spoke to her village's shaman to get them to do a reading for her. And it was determined that the child would become a fulcrum for the ancient spirits, and should be raised as a Druid. Her mother was somewhat sad to let this happen, however understood that it was for the best. Spirits were honored beings, but all knew they could become dangerous if abused by those who held a connection with them.
So Kasayee was raised by the Druids, and taught how to use her abilities. Sadly, Kasayee turned out to be not the greatest student, and seemed to be uninterested in learning. This was due, in part, to the fact that she was able to commune with the spirits all of her life. So she didn't feel any need to really learn about it from anyone but the spirits themselves. Despite this the Druids came to love the child, as she was a bright and friendly girl.
The Druids continued to teach her what they could, however eventually they came to realize that Kasayee was a strange case. That she had to go out into the world and discover the truths of it on her own. And so they let her go, with advice and fond farewells.
Kasayee knew she would miss them, but also knew that they were always connected, through the world itself, so she needn't worry. She set out to discover more about the world, and just relax whenever she could. She firmly believed the answers would all come to her if she waited long enough. When she learned of Cherry Heart, her interest was piqued. What kind of group was this? What changes would it wrought upon the world? She felted an urge to join them, almost an instinctive pull towards the guild. And she couldn't very well refuse her own instincts.

Unbeknownst to Kasayee there were forces that would be after her. Those wishing to capture her for the rarity of her species, and those who wished to use the spirits for their own desires.

[spoiler=Abilities]Shapeshifting: Kasayee has learned the Druidic art of shapeshifting, and can use it in many different ways. In all but her Tree Form and partial Lizard Form a strong hit can shatter the shapeshifting, and she cannot hold onto shapeshifting indefinitely.
-Tree Form. Kasayee can change her skin to bark, sprout branches, leaves, roots. She can even, given some time, transform her body into that of an eight foot tall tree. Somewhat more durable than regular trees.
-Lizard Form. The shifting that Kasayee has yet to master. As she's already lizard-like it's also the faster of the transformations. Similar to tree form, she can morph parts of her body to be even more lizard-like. She can fully transform into a small lizard and when she does she can run across water.
-Bird Form. Kasayee turns into a beautiful bird which grants her the ability to fly.
-True Lizard Form. Kasayee is trying to learn how to take on her True/Primal form. Which is that of a giant lizard with great strength and endurance.
Kasayee is attempting to master other forms of shapeshifting as well.
Commune With Spirits: Is semi-connected to the Spirit World, and can go into a trance-like state to ask questions of ancient and long dead people. However the answers are often vague and hard to understand, as she’s still young.
Animal-Tongue: Can speak with most animals. They do not talk as a human would, but she can understand their intentions and feelings, and they hers.

Literally Venomous: Kasayee's nails and teeth can secrete a mild, numbing, poison. Not very strong, but enough of it can slow down and hinder a foe.

She has higher than average reflexes and flexibility, and usually fights hand to hand. Or hand to claw, as her most common form of attack is to shift her hands into that of a lizards to tear flesh.

[spoiler=Misc][spoiler=Theme, The World]

[spoiler=Theme, The Girl]

-Is an Omnivore but mostly eats insects and fruit.
-Would be perfectly okay eating a human if not for the fact that she'd get punished.
-Doesn't really put much stock in race, gender, or other such things.

-Isn't coldblooded however she does get more lethargic and slow in the cold.

-Only wears clothing when asked to. Doesn't see a need for them, as she doesn't equate nudity with sexuality.

-Spirits often come to her, unbidden, to give opinions she, usually, doesn't care about.

[spoiler=Spirits]To understand what the spirits are first you need to know the nature of a soul. Every living being has a soul. It’s not a physical thing. Nor can it be seen except with certain types of magic.
Once a living creature dies or, in some extreme cases, even while still alive (this can include outside forces or certain powerful souls bringing themselves into such a state) their soul leaves their body and from there they take “The Journey” to the afterlife, a place of judgment, of punishment or reward, which all must go through.
The method of judging, the type of punishment and reward, and even the judge themselves, is something disputed by many. Kasayee herself does not know as the spirits are unable to speak about what happened to them.
Spirits are the name for the bodiless souls and they interact with the world in various ways. Most spirits cannot directly interact with living beings, except those who can commune with them, and those that can usually must do so through a proxy. Be it possession of a living creature or use of objects, though these are only for particularly powerful or willful spirits, they can even occasionally speak with those without the power to do so on their own.
Spirits tend to roam the world, ever present, but the majority only observe. Very few spirits, relatively, are actually trapped in the world however. Most are either able to travel between the afterlife and mortal realm and others exist in both simultaneously.
They often are a great source of wisdom due to their living experience combined with whatever knowledge they gained through The Journey and their observations but they also tend to be less than willing to give straight answers. The amount they interfere, the amount they know, their desire to share, and how opinionated they are, tend to vary from spirit to spirit but they have shown to be much more aggressively opinionated towards those who can directly commune with them.

[spoiler=Delicious in Dungeon]
Name: Fen Yi
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Species/Race: Human
[spoiler=Appearance]
GvR5CY5.png?2
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130 lbs

[spoiler=Personality]
Fen is a girl who does not give off a commanding presence. Both timid in demeanor and possessing a lack of confidence in themselves, they tend not to draw that much attention to themselves. Furthermore she tends to be a bit nervous and unsure of herself in most things that she partakes in, and is a bit jumpy when it comes to surprises. While shy and more nervous around strangers, she is not necessarily afraid of them and thus doesn't inherently try to distance herself from others. Easily trusting and tending to be honest with others, she has a bit of naive air to her.

In spite of having a lack of self confidence, Fen wishes to try new things whenever possible to help expand her horizons. This generally ends with them having to pump themselves up before attempting anything new, and generally requires assistance in these kinds of endeavors. Due to her low self confidence she shrinks easily at being admonished, usually not sticking up for herself, though reacts quite greatly to being praised. If only subconsciously, this also lends itself to her wishing to help others when prompted to.

There is only one thing that Fen is able to do with the utmost of confidence, and this is cooking. It is a craft that her family has partaken in for many generations and one that she has learned the skills in order to reach the level of a fairly competent chef. In addition, because of their insistence on collecting their own ingredients, Fen is surprisingly not squeamish at all around blood and guts and will not flinch when it comes to harvesting something from a corpse. Furthermore, when it comes to thinking of new ingredients to use, her face tends to light up in an almost child like excitement and curiosity. In spite of this, the one skill she is not confident in is her capability of fighting, and thus comes into constant conflict with her need to find newer ingredients and her fear of actually fighting monsters.

[spoiler=Yi Family]
While Fen was born in the continent of Arbolia, the Yi family actually comes from the continent of Jianghu. While celebrated in their craft of culinary expertise and unorthodox skills in hunting, the Yi family had felt as though they had reached their plateau with what was available to them. As such, they sought foreign lands so as to learn more what could help them in their craft. As such, they took their journey west, ending up in the continent of Arbolia. Once in the new continent they were greeted with the sights of flora and fauna that they had never seen before and, using what they brought from their homeland, had begun much experimentation. Soon enough they had become chefs of great renown for their blending of cultures.

As time went on and the family stayed in Arbolia, one generation a member of the Yi family had developed an innate magical power. Having such a talent, they were bored with simply hunting the local wildlife, and was starting to feel stagnant. As such, they started to look towards more exotic creatures that weren't commonly used in food. Those creatures being monsters.As the Yi had been met with some initial and disastrous failure in using monsters in dishes, they soon started to understand to learn how to incorporate even those into their dishes. With that, came a new standard to the Yi family members thereafter and soon they had revolutionized their cuisine once more. As such, they had expanded from mere hunters and cooks, to ones that promoted adventuring within them in order to find new beasts to make cuisine from.

[spoiler=Biography]
Being born into the Yi family, Fen had the pressure put on them from an early age to succeed at the family's trade. As such, for as long as she could remember she was constantly presented with a multitude of skills that she had been expected to master. Whether it be foraging plants, harvesting meats from animals, or all the components that actually involve cooking. Despite it being forced upon her, Fen couldn't help but become enamored with this craft as she continued to learn more about it. However, because of her singular focus in it, she had started to interact with others less and less and never really learned anything beyond it. And while her more brash siblings had been out combating monsters, Fen had merely kept to her studies. As this continued, her parents began to worry about her eventually hitting a plateau. As such, they had come to a decision.

Customary among the members the Yi family, they had decided to send her to the outside world so that she may cultivate more experiences herself. While Fen was somewhat terrified of the idea, she had recognized the importance of it and so reluctantly accepted to brave the world. Having been traveling the continent for 3 months now, the girl had found it hard to actually take any steps forward. Lacking the skill and confidence to actually take on any kind of monster herself and not having enough experience in talking with people to ask for assistance, the girl was making little headway fast. While she had spent the past month somewhat crestfallen and trying to live off the land as best as she could, she had eventually ended up in the town of Prunus, one that was advertising a new guild. She knew little about guilds, but figured that becoming a part would be a good first step towards truly beginning her journey.

[spoiler=Abilities/Equipment]
Magic Skills - Ice Magic

  • Crystallize: Fen is able to either chill the air around her hands in order to start to freeze whatever they touch. She can further imbue her weapon with this power, causing ice crystal to form on the blade and sending a wave of cold through a target when it cuts/pierces them.
  • Crystal Thorn Lash: While Fen is channeling Crystallize she is able to freeze the surrounding air into thin, sharp, ice shards. Extending roughly a meter from the end of what she is channeling her magic on, when the object moves the ice shards move alongside it, generally creating either a razor like whip or merely extending the range of a thrust.
  • Crystal Ice Lance: Fen is able to use Crystallize on the surrounding air in order to create a solid frozen object. In this case, it is a lance made of ice. While it is not all that sturdy it provides the same kind of stabbing power as a metal lance. Due to the frailty of it and the time it takes to conjure it is more used as an opening ranged attack then an actual impromptu melee option. Once it hits its target or Fen stops focusing on it the ice dissipates.

Non-magic Skills

  • Guandao: Due to being the go to melee weapon of the Yi family, Fen has been trained in the use of the Guandao. However, because of her lack of focus in the actual act of monster slaying, she is still an amateur at best in its use.
  • Hunting/Foraging/Cooking skills
  • A small assortment of knives used either for cutting different foods or carving into beasts.

[spoiler=Angel of Mercy]

"If you have no desire to move forward, then I have no reason to help you.”

Personal Information

Name: Florentia Philomel
Age: 37
Sex: Female

Race: Human

[spoiler=Appearance]

cqA1G8K.jpg

Florentia is decently tall for a human female at 178 centimeters.

[spoiler=Personality]

The usual first impression people would have for her is how scary she looked, and in a way, it is warranted. She looks serious almost one hundred percent of the time and talks in an impersonal way that makes it seem she's just conversing with herself. A very strict lady that can be overly demanding, but usually don't mind rules much if it's for the sake of the goal. Her words are usually direct and very harsh when it counts, as she sees no point in circling around just to explain a point. Rarely yells but she has other ways to get people to pay her attention when she feels that it's necessary.

The above is really just how Florentia shows that she cares about other people, especially people close to her. She's not malicious and her motives for the most part are selfless, although at times it means she barely pay any attention to herself to the worry of her colleagues. She's quite a worrywart about the well-being of others, although her innate inconsiderate nature tend to make her act like she's all knowing and self-centered in how she wanted to help others. This attitude and the unwillingness for her to budge from it often stressed her, but she never showed it to others, preferring to wash it off by drinking on her own.

Florentia is also very determined in regards to anything she has set her mind into. Stubbornness born from the refusal to accept defeat as a reality, no matter what. Once she really gets into something, it will be really hard for her to stop, an overwhelming focus and a dedication to a cause bordering on madness.

She doesn't really like apathetic people, however most of the time she doesn't show it openly. What she truly despises the most are people with self-defeating nature, and people who easily gave up on something despite everyone trying to help them. She sees those people as a complete waste of air and she treats them like cancer cells eating on society. She admits that it's more her personal distaste than anything, but she really feels that it's better if she kills them herself if they shows little to no desire to continue living like other people. Which makes her a terrible motivational speaker.

On the note on things she also disliked, she also doesn't really like violence and would usually not fight if she could, but being a guildmaster ends up showcasing that she actually enjoys combat despite her attempt to not acknowledge it.

It's unlikely, but if she's in a very good mood she can talk more openly, but her worrywart self often kept her too tense for that to happen daily.

[spoiler=Biography]

Little was known about her childhood and Florentia didn't really find it to be a topic she would bring up, having little problem if any problems throughout the period. In fact, so little was known about her until the point of her life where she was stranded in the Kingdom of Fraxinus after the ship she was in capsized. She had little difficulty in adjusting in though, which suggested that she was from one of the nearest major islands, and she did end up saying she was going to Fraxinus all along anyway.

Life of an adventurer or a part of a Guild interested her little as she wasn't really the violent type, and after a while she landed herself into a job as the nurse in an orphanage. The kids found her to be really creepy however, and while some kids ended up warming up and liking her, some were so scared of her that just after a few years, she was discharged from there. She then considered working on a hospital, but not after long she was discharged from there too due to her bad relation with her coworkers, despite her capability of using healing magic.

It didn't bug her much though, and she spent some time as the warden to a grave near the far eastern coast of the kingdom, growing somewhat fond of the graves and people there. It was there when a certain blue-haired woman met her.

She showed a certain interest in Florentia that she found odd, and she kept on trying to drive the woman off openly. Though the woman is quite persistent, and later Florentia started to like her companionship, enough to start having conversations with her. It was the start of their odd friendship. It continued for a few years, and one day the woman told her that she would need her help in operating an upstart guild. It was hard to convince Florentia despite the two's friendship, but in the end she agreed to be the guildmaster while the blue-haired woman would try reining her in and deal with any intricacies. What finally convinced the hard-headed woman about it was a mystery to anyone except the two.

[spoiler=Abilities]
  • Healing Magic: Her primary form of magic. Capable of regrowing cells and tissues at a fast rate and dispelling impurities and common poisons. Capable of imbuing temporary fast regeneration to herself or a target. Capable of utilizing her own tissues as weapons and growing cancerous cells on a target using their blood. Capable of overclocking the functionalities of an organic body for a time.
  • Weapon usage: Usually she fights with her own bone as a blunt weapon or a sword and shooting her nail and finger bones at bullet-like speed, but Celica's urging made her end up using an actual rapier and a pepperbox gun instead.
  • Hand to hand combat: Physically powerful, and somewhat well-trained in martial arts.

[spoiler=Miscellaneous]
  • Carries a full set of medical tools and herbs in a bag anywhere she goes. Can use them as weapons, but prefers not to.
  • Her healing magic is really painful for her target. She herself is already kind of numb to it.
  • Enjoys reading, and secretly loves children tales and heroic legends.
  • Likes gardening.

[spoiler=NPCs]

[spoiler=Heir of a Dream]

Name: Celica C. Cannes

Age: 26

Gender: Female
Species/Race: Human

Appearance: "Under the divine protection of the wind, that sword of a promised ending would continue waiting as it rust."

The current owner of Cherry Heart, to put things simply. In line to inherit her family's company, however as investors weren't sure yet of her capability, she left her home to prove herself as a successful businesswoman. She was the one that bought the guild's old building and revived the guild with the excuse of thinking that guild business would be quite lucrative especially these days, although it's clear she's thinking about something else.

She's friendly although not really talkative, and usually would rather busying herself with necessary works rather than having an idle chat, although if it starts to get into her she'll find excuses to take a break and have conversations that can last for hours. Polite and courteous even to people that clearly doesn't like her presence around, although it's mostly just out of habit. If she dislikes someone she usually keeps it to herself until she can't take it anymore and just explode in anger. Outside of that, she has a big sister-like streak and is quite caring to the people under her.

Was a mage before, but right now she chooses to be Cherry Heart's secretary (not officially, but she does most of the paperwork anyway), pushing most of the responsibilities related to being a guildmaster to Florentia instead. She's here as an enterpreneur not an adventurer, after all.

Interest checked, though I'm not sure who exactly I'd want to bring back out of all the chars I've made for the previous iteration.

Priest app will go here; he's definitely coming back since I never even got to use him >:/

EDIT: So after reading and reflecting on the reviews on Galterius, I've decided my best course of action is to withdraw the application (I intend to keep the character himself around as a quest giver though, assuming I make it in the initial cut) and replace it for another character.

[spoiler=Emeryx Letchford, The Cyclopean Illusionist]

GLgdZSX.png
"I'm here because Cherry Heart needs people of my caliber, and I'll remain a prominent... awecrapthat'llmakemesoundwaytooarrogantifItrytoputitlikethater... can I... start my pitch over, please?"
Personal Information
Name: Emeryx Letchford
Age: 72
Sex: Androgynous
Race: Cyclops - Mutated
[spoiler=Appearance:]Emeryx stands at exactly 201cm (6' 7") tall, and weighs at 84kg (185lbs). It may not look like the case, but Emeryx actually has stunted growth compared to the standard cyclops, especially in the muscular and skeletal department. Aside from all the decorations on his dress, the fact that he wears one in the first place, the ribbon on his right arm, the two belts on the left, the singular detached sleeve on the left, the flower in his hair and the fact that it's cyan in color, is his singular eyeball that has a grand total of 24 irises and pupils within it. These irises can be manipulated individually to go in most any direction, allowing Emeryx to see off to any side he may need to without even turning his head. It should be noted that Emeryx has a very distinct masculine, albeit slightly pubescent, depth in his voice, which can be heard whenever he speaks.

b06ced55b6d68d4b0028372b9f214941c0ecf1be

[spoiler=Personality:]For the most part, Emeryx naturally comes off as a nervous wreck. He can easily be flourished by even the most innocent of mistakes that he makes. And even when he does say something with an initial sense of confidence, he'll immediately regret it and try to take it back if he can, silently cursing himself along the way. Speaking of, words are one of two very big Achilles' heels for Emeryx; it was all well and good that he can use words no-one would expect a cyclops to even comprehend, but his inability to determine what to say when to say it prevents his language skills from seeing any kind of fruition. And that's putting it lightly. Between that, his general submissiveness and the mental frailty that he was burdened with since childhood, it's no wonder Emeryx rarely speaks his mind... assuming of course he ever does.

The other Archilles heel is that Emeryx overthinks every single situation that he ever finds himself in, and the reason he does that is because his mind is consumed by an unhealthily powerful sense of paranoia. The worrying thing is that it's second nature for Emeryx to second-guess who truly has his back when he's scared and, although it lessens significantly around people that he trusts, his wariness spikes heavily around complete and utter strangers... especially those that seem dark or brooding to begin with. Emeryx will try to keep at least one iris on each individual around his immediate vicinity due to his severe unease with others, while still keeping the other irises locked onto as many other directions as possible to ensure he doesn't miss any nook or cranny of his surroundings... if only to ensure, to the best of his ability anyway, that he doesn't trigger any hidden traps or slip into any pitfalls along the way. Emeryx does try to put on a brave face through all his fear of the unknown, but that only gets him so far. And when one crumbles as easily to pressure as Emeryx does, "only so far" is not nearly far enough.

However, all this begs the question: if Emeryx seems to be this fearful for his own personal safety, then what the hell is he doing trying to apply for a guild that wants to make a name for itself by accepting a whole slew of dangerous missions for its members to participate in? Well, quite frankly, Emeryx wants to improve as a person. He wants to gain friends just like any other human being, and most importantly, he wants people to know that he can at least make a conscious effort to put his insecurities aside and focus on performing. He doesn't mean to be as difficult as he is when it comes to placing trust in others and, aside from learning to become less fearful and more confident in himself of course, this is the first thing he wants to correct. You can't expect him to change his ways right on the spot however, and trying to force him to do so will only set him up for failure. What really needs to happen is that he takes one step at a time, and work at his issues piece by piece. Only then will progress be made.

[spoiler=Biography:]Being separated from his parents and siblings, a young Emeryx wandered aimlessly around the Valais Mountains, trying desperately to reunite himself with his family. He searched far and wide, and high and low; but there was no sign of any family members to be found. Emeryx wasn't even able to find another cyclops around to help take him home. Instead however, he just so happened to chance upon Washington Letchford, a renowned hiker and explorer in his prime who was responsible for much of the chartering for Arbolia's mountain ranges. Having been made aware of the dangers that the cyclopean people would normally present prior to his setting foot on the Valais Mountains (most particularly to humans), Washington instinctively raised his musket at Emeryx upon discovering he was out and about... but after learning that the poor child was harmless, he lowered it again, holstering it over his shoulder, and approached the child in a calm and more peaceful manner.

Understanding that the poor cyclopean child had been separated from the rest of the family and was unable to reunite with them, Washington had taken Emeryx in, and raised him as his own child... and that's how Emeryx got his surname of Letchford. Emeryx grew up with four of Washington's sons. Sure enough, Washington passed away on an expedition and, after attending his funeral, each of his sons went their separate ways. Emeryx wound up following the youngest son, Cyrus Letchford, in the back of a wagon that was set for Prunus City. Cyrus had always wanted to set up a tavern that would sell only the finest ale that would draw the people of Arbolia all over. However, while Emeryx seemed happy to help out wherever he needed to, the now adolescent cyclops had dreams that drifted elsewhere, and he still had no idea what he wanted to do with his own life. Several years passed, and while Emeryx learned a lot about human society since then, his original dilemma of uncertainty still remained... until he caught wind of a new guild being formed right there in Prunus City. He contemplated signing up, but wasn't sure what exactly he'd bring to the table and, understandably, hesitated as a result. After talking it over with Cyrus, however, Emeryx was told he'd best act on the opportunity while it presented itself.

After all, he could potentially earn similar recognition to what Washington had earned himself, if not even more...

Combat Information
[spoiler=Weapons & Equipment]Morning Star: Just a standard ass mace for bashing things. Nothing special.

[spoiler=Unlocked Spells](Spells that Emeryx will start the RP with can be found here)

Lesser Quantification: This spell allows Emeryx to duplicate any one item he may have on hand. It only grants him a single copy of that item, and how long it takes to copy depends on the item’s density and mass. Small strands of wire, for example, can be duplicated almost instantly, but large golden statues will take much longer, to the point that the spell can be easily interrupted. The density and mass of an item that was successfully duplicated also govern how long that item will stay corporeal, before vanishing into a void never to be seen again. Duplicated items usually stay corporeal for one minute per second it took to create them in the first place.

Myriad of Apparitions: Multiple visions of Emeryx appear and disappear throughout a 10 meter radius of where he casts this spell. Only one vision remains constant; the vision of the real Emeryx. As such, he will usually avoid casting this spell until he’s hidden from view. In any case, the visions this spell creates will confuse almost all the enemies’ senses at once, allowing Emeryx and his allies to potentially sneak past them and continue on with the quest at hand. This spell lasts for about 30 seconds before all the other visions dissipate, with each vision only being visible for split-seconds at a time before disappearing again.

Clanging Repercussion: Using the Lesser Quantification spell, Emeryx creates a duplicate morning star for his other hand and, after spread his arms wide, brings the both of them inwards and slams them against each other. This in turn produces a distinctive ear-splitting ring that dispels all illusions that were ever created up to that point. (This includes Emeryx’s duplicated mace since, in all technicality, that too was an illusion.) However, it also severely disorientates all those who hear it, allowing everyone else to make a tactical retreat whilst they’re recovering and the ringing sound draws to obscurity. The ringing has too high a pitch for cyclopean ears to detect, so thankfully Emeryx himself is in the clear. Though his allies may wish to cover their ears, lest they be enveloped in this ringing sensation and not be able to think for a few seconds.

[spoiler=Future Spells](Spells that I want Emeryx to learn during the course of the RP can be found here, in the order of which they'll be unlocked)

Greater Quantification: The improved version of Lesser Quantification. This allows Emeryx to create up to 5 duplicates of a single item at once. These duplicates ultimately take 85% of the time it would take to create the same thing with Lesser Quantification, and each duplicate remains corporeal for a significantly longer period of time on top of that; about 90 seconds per second they took to create. There’s still the issue that the duplicates will eventually vanish into nothingness just like they would when created by Lesser Quantification, but one would be glad not to be overburdened with excess inventory… especially if Emeryx got himself carried away utilizing this spell.

Visionary Giant: Here, Emeryx imagines himself as a being ten times his true size and boldly walks towards his enemies, who in turn see him growing into a titanic form. Seeing this would convince the enemies that they need to aim higher with their attacks than they normally do, only to wonder why the hell some of those attacks seem to go straight through Emeryx. Of course, what's actually happening is that this so-called "compensation" is causing such attacks to miss Emeryx completely, thanks entirely to the image that he'd projected himself as. Area of effect magics, as well as vertically orientated magics such as columns of fire or water, can still hit Emeryx pretty hard, causing the illusion to fade instantly. It also fades the moment his confidence is shattered, and once that happens, he won't be able to cast it again for the rest of the mission.

Everlasting Apparitions: The improved version of Myriad of Apparitions. This time the visions of Emeryx actually stay visible for the duration of the spell's casting, making it that much harder to differentiate them from the real Emeryx. The visions are also able to speak; this is most notably used to confuse enemies into attacking the visions anyway, although they can taunt the enemies and try to rile them up into an endless cycle of futility. Visions cast by this spell vanish upon contact, but when they do, they'll materialize once again mere split-seconds later, until the duration of the spell itself expires.

A Sweet-Tooth's Utopia: One of the most powerful illusions Emeryx can cast. By moving all 24 irises around so that they convincingly resemble a candy being infinitely unwrapped from its wrapper, Emeryx can potentially catch an entire group of enemies in a trance. And if he does, that group of enemies will find themselves alone to immerse themselves into a brand new world where the terrain around them is made entirely of candy, and weaker-minded victims will be driven to eat their surroundings away. A successful casting of this grand-scale illusion is especially effective in hazardous environments, or places with dangerous animals inside ready to eat those under the illusion. Whether it works or not, Emeryx will be left in a momentary state of dizziness, and exhaustion from trying to create such a world to put them in. He won't be able to cast this spell again for the duration of the quest he's currently on, nor can he cast it at all during the next quest he partakes in.

[spoiler= Mage Eater]

"If it makes you feel any better... I'm pretty sure I'd still hate you if you weren't a mage."

Name: Vincent Cipher
Age: 20
Sex: Male
Species/Race: Human
[spoiler=Appearance:]
dd94ecd8010dc5963fc7de2f3f452035.jpg
5'9ft 152 lbs

[spoiler=Personality:]

Your stereotypical bad boy, Vincent is 152 lbs of dry sarcasm and angst. He finds high energy and overly friendly individuals extreamly irritating, and will not hesitate to make that clear to them. His preferred company are those who don't speak much, and the boy will often times linger in the back of the group to avoid interaction with the hero types. Vincent's time with his tribe has contributed greatly to his standoffishness, and though he claims to not be interested in making friends, he secretly craves some kind of companionship after losing his first love and leaving his family behind.

Having been raised under the notion that mages were inferior and something that his tribe was burdened with to keep in check, Vincent is prone to being short and easily agitated when interacting with them. Though after deciding to join Cherry Heart, he has been trying his best to not look down upon his fellow guild members for what they are, instead waiting till they reveal a quirk in their personality that annoys him. Spending every day in constant conflict between his upbringing, and his vow to fulfill the dream of his lost love, Vincent will often times find himself gazing off into space whilst contemplating if he is making the right discussion by abandoning his tribe and working with the guild.

Aloof and somewhat lazy by nature, Vincent is prone to vanishing when there is grunt work to be done, and only truly stepping up to the plate when there is a chance to further the guild's reputation or a fight against a powerful opponent. Due to being raised as a hunter, Vincent finds battle to be one of the only activities that is truly fulfilling. With his sensory abilities he can easily pick out mages with strong magical potentials within large groups, and finds him self gravitating towards these people whilst ignoring those who he deems too weak to warrant his attention. In fights, he takes pride in eliminating high priority targets and though he isn't fond of teamwork, Vincent will do his best to make sure that all of his allies make it out alive. Though he claims that this is simply for the benefit of the guild...

[spoiler=Biography:]

Having formed their entire culture around hunting evil mages, and being quite good at the task, the Xel'cie have earned their place amongst few private organizations that Yggdrasil will evoke to handle cases of dangerous dark guilds and other matters that require the suppression of mages. Vincent found himself accompanying his tribe on such a task roughly a month before joining Cherry Heart..

As he and his family did battle with a viscous dark guild, Vincent found himself pursuing one of it's members into the lower part of the base. As the explosive clash of Xel'cie and mage waged above, Vincent cornered the girl and readied his bow to finish her off. Just then, a massive attack from one the dark guild members tore through the building, causing the old structure to collapse. Vincent instantly began panic as rubbled rained down upon him, and the girl. Unable to do anything to stop the disaster Vincent closed his eyes and accepted his fate.

Awakening several hours later, Vincent found himself laying on his back in the buried basement of the building. Glancing down to see that his wounds had been tended to, the boy soon looked up and was met with the gaze of the dark guild member who he had pursued. Though he had initially prepared for a fight, the girl hastily explained that she did not believe in the practices of her guild mates, but was unable to abandon them because they were also her family. Naturally, Vincent was skeptical and had thought that this was some kind of trickery from the witch.

The two spent an entire night in silence, as Vincent tried his best to bring himself to his feet so he could kill the witch and escape from their rubble prison. After finally accepting that he would need time to rest and for his injuries to heal, Vincent continued to lay in silence. Though it seemed that the dark guild member couldn't bare the lack of human interaction any longer, and soon began telling him about herself despite his objections. Realizing that the boy couldn't move well enough to eat, she even went so far as to feed him from the rations that were stored in the room.

The two would then spend three more days trapped beneath the fallen base. Eventually Vincent warmed up to the girl, and the more they talked and shared their stories, the more apparent it became that he loved her. Though they never dared exchange names, it seemed that such things were unnecessary. Vincent learned that her dream was to join an official guild one day, to do as much good as she can for the world in order to make up for the deeds she had committed with the dark guild, and they shared a laugh about the fact that Vincent didn't have a dream for himself and was content with simply relaxing and being dragged on the occasional hunt with his tribe.

After the sixth night a large blast shock the room, causing rubbled to begin falling once again. From above, the voices of Vincent's tribe could be heard as they did their best to free him his prison. Calling up to his family, Vincent turned to assure the girl that they were about rescued. Though unfortunately it seemed that only one of them would be leaving the room.

In a horrid twist of fate, one of the rocks had crushed the girl. Her tiny form was completely enveloped by the stone, and as dark red liquid began to trickle from under the slab of roof, Vincent's tribe reached out and plucked him up and back into the real world. Beyond damaged be the event, Vincent spent the next few days with his tribe wallowing in his in his loss, and distancing himself from the people raised him to consider all mages as lessor people. It was only after remembering the girl's talk about dreams did he find a reason to continue living. He'd join a guild. He'd do good for the world, for her. Hell, he'd make that guild the best damned guild the world had ever seen, in her name!

After escaping his tribe, Vincent soon found himself on the doorstep of Cherry Heart, ready to work alongside the mages in order to fulfill her dream...

[spoiler=Abilities/Equipment:]

High Magic Sensitivity: As a Xel'cie, Vincent holds an acute awareness of all magic sources around him in what is best described as a 6th sense. He is constantly aware of the microscopic magic particles that are constantly lingering in the atmosphere, and that are also released from mage's bodies after preforming their magics. Xel'cie have been known to use their senses to track mages across great distances, and are able to distinguish distinct traits in each organism's energy signature.

Mugen: By molding large amounts of the magic particles that flow through the air with some of the contaminated particles left from mages after using their abilities, the Xel'cie have created the perfect way to weaponize their gift. Given the nature of how Mugen functions, it is an extreamly low cost ability due to the fact that the Xel'cie are simply molding the magical particles externally rather than channeling them with their souls. It should be noted that contaminated magic particles are necessary to preform most Mugen techniques, making this skill one reserved exclusively for combat with or against magical entities.

  • Mugen: Armaments of Eden: A Xel'cie hunter's most frequently used skill, and the first taught to them by the tribe. Vincent molds magic particles into simple or complicated weapons of glowing energy, with densities directly proportionate to the amount of particles used to form them.
  • Mugen: Winds of Icarus: By gathering large amounts of mana particles bellow his feet and condensing and manipulating them, Vincent can create a "flow" for which to ride on to achieve short distance bursts of high speed movement.

Soul Forge: Trick Arrows: Aware of their glaring weakness of needing contaminated particles to successfully do battle, The Xel'cie people developed Soul Forge as secondary method of attack. Following  the basic principles of Mugen, and taking it to the next level, Vincent can craft arrows from his very soul. Due to their nature, these arrows can be granted a vast array magical effects, and are able to be formed along with a small wrist mounted bow in situations were Mugen is unusable. Though not initial life threatening, this level of Soul Forge can leave the user extreamly drained with excessive use, and is known to damage the users physical vessel if they're not carful.

  • Explosive:  Detonating with a concussive explosion on impact, the scale of their payload is directly proportioned to the amount of his own soul Vincent that pours into them.
  • Scatter Shot: Upon releasing this large arrow, Vincent can cause it to split into a rain of standard projectiles that accelerate towards the target. Just as with all trick arrows, Vincent can increase it's potency by using more of his soul.
  • Drill Shot: Primarily used to pierce armor, and magical constructs, this trick arrow drills through surfaces by vibrating at a frequency that weakens the molecular bonds of the target.

Archery: Vincent is an extremely talented marksmen, even by Xel'cie standards.

(LOCKED) Mage Masher: Full fledged Xel'cie warriors are able to use the magical particles from nearby mages to create arrows that are made to specifically combat that particular magic user. Once fully formed, these sacred arrows will not only cause physical damage, but will also fill the enemy's body with a surplus of their own mana particles to rigger an overloading effect akin to a powerful magical stun gun. These shocks are capable of temporarily tampering with the flow of the effected mage's mana, rendering it difficult and in case of repeated exposure, impossible to use spells for a short time. Shocks from Xel'cie sacred arrows are also known to be immensely more painfully for those with greater magical reserves, turning their power against them. Having never completed his training, Vincent has yet to master the construction of such sacred arrows, and is currently trying to prefect the technique with his limited reference and resources.

[spoiler=The Xel'cie]

The Xel'cie are a small tribe of people that are thought to have developed an affinity for observing magical energy during the time of the Magic Cataclysm. Modern day Xel'cie have learned to harness this mutation as a weapon that has proven to be very effective against mages, due to the magic users's involuntary contamination of magical particles when using their abilities and the surplus of magical particles that are constantly lingering naturally within the environment.

Drawing their strength from the magic particles that exist in the physical world rather than touching them taking them in, the Xel'cie believe that the soul is just another form of energy, and that the contaminated magic particles which are produced when mages using their abilities are an unnatural byproduct of forcibly using the soul to connect to the spiritual plane. The Xel'cie people consider these particles touched by magic users souls to be a form of pollution to the environment, and though they consider some forms of magic less detrimental than others, the tribe fears that mages are slowly destroying the planet.

Valuing strength and loyalty above all else, the Xel'lcie are a nomadic people that will often time dispatch entire families out to handle contracts or investigate dark guilds. A family's reputation grants them standing amongst the Xel'cie high council, and the Cipher family's honor was harshly disgraced when Vincent abandoned the tribe. The Xel'cie take desertion quite seriously, and though they have yet to locate Vincent, the tribe would certainly attempt to retrieve him upon discovering that he left to join a guild.

His most distinct features are his bright red eyes, which for better or for worse made him stand out. As a child he liked how unique they made him look but he has come to dislike them a fair bit since for the same reason. His mood turns sour whenever they're mentioned.

[spoiler=Personal life]Biography
A native from Kaktos, Auburn was born to a wealthy mage family. Unlike his older sister Audrey who was perhaps one of the most talented the family line has ever had, Auburn had almost no talent for magic. It wasn't until well into his teens that he was able to cast just a basic fireball spell, and even that took much stamina and concentration. As much as they tried, his family wasn't able to hide this and he became known as the anomaly second child of the Peachfields, mockingly called a 'little prince'. Despite this, he got along quite well with his elder sister who he admired, and developed a love for the craft he was so incompetent at. He attempted to make up for that with raw technical knowledge, his one advantage being his access to the Peachfield household library. It was because of this that he also picked up potion making, being an essential craft to magic.

However, seeing his sister rise up through the ranks of mage-hood, he couldn't help but feel wholly inadequate. He wasn't satisfied staying in her shadows but he had no means of standing out by himself so long as he remained in the Peachfield household. Although he loved his sister, he also hated and envied her very much. On his nineteenth birthday he left the Peachfield household, abandoning his responsibility as the future family head, intending to prove his worth another way. He joined Cherry Heart, determined to prove that even someone as untalented in magic as himself could still succeed in the field.

Personality
More than anything else Auburn feels inferior over his magic impotency. His complex is crippling, and he struggles to trust most people beyond upholding a professional relationship. A surefire way to earn his animosity is to mock him for it. Praising his efforts would do little as well, as he would refuse to believe any such words. He's also petty and fickle and spiteful and easily envious, and overall isn't a very pleasant person. Some of that is perhaps due to his rich upbringing but a lot of this is simply to hide his low self-esteem. As a child he may have been trusting and gentle in demeanor but as a young adult he wields a sharp tongue, ready to bash and trash and rant without consideration for others.

On the other hand, his determination is very real and he'll gladly accept anyone willing to teach him. He becomes genuinely excited at learning more about magic and what it can accomplish. He's also equally eager to teach others about the power of potions, those being his only real area of strength. He becomes overeager at any chance to prove himself and when the opportunity presents itself he abandons rational thought and acts rashly.

In addition to that, he is also rather sensitive over his physical appearance. He is short and feminine and has red eyes and likewise, attempts to mock those will also result in a lot of animosity. He is equally proud of his somewhat gothic fashion sense and will take snide comments the same way.

[spoiler=Abilities]

  • Fire magic - Fireball - A basic spell that shoots a small bullet-sized fireball forward and can at most cause a small burn. For most this is an elementary-level skill not optimal for combat of any kind but for Auburn this is all he can perform.
  • Light musket - Rather portable for a firearm, Auburn carries this around as a contingency weapon. Has a flintlock firing mechanism but he prefers to ignite it with fire magic.
  • Potion making - His primary means of income and combat. Although essential to magecraft, it was a field that required no skill at it, and so Auburn chose this path. He is no master but has built up a level of competency that is at least unusual for his age. Often it is shortage of materials, rather than difficulty, that hinders him. In particular, some of the potions he keeps a ready stock of at all times are:
  • Explosive Potion - Since he carries gunpowder around for his musket, and the other material are cheap and easily obtained, he has no shortage of these. These potions are meant to be thrown instead of drank, and create an explosion that can blow a door off its hinges easily. He can also add in elements such as ice and lightning to these if he's willing to spend the money to buy the necessary side ingredients.
  • Healing Potion - Can be taken to slowly recover injuries over a small period of time(a well-brewed one takes effect within minutes, a terrible one may require an hour), or applied directly to wounds to quickly fix them. Cannot regrow lost body parts.
  • Recovery Potion - A simple potion that replenishes the recipient's magic pool. Although he has no real use for it, Auburn brews and drinks these on occasion, usually to accompany a lengthy and fruitless magic training session.
  • Flashbang - Requiring a special type of flower that only blooms on a full moon, these create an extremely bright flash on impact, blinding most for at least a few seconds. He keeps a few of these in stock but gathering the prerequisite flower is difficult so he cannot readily replenish his supply on the spot.
  • Ailment-recovery Potion - Can cure most common ailments, including but not limited to cheap poison, paralysis, headaches and colds.
  • In addition to these, with enough time to prepare he can create any potion that doesn't require a world-class pharmacist. Some potions beyond his making are potions that take effect upon death, all of which require an extremely delicate material that directly affects the soul, or potions requiring expensive equipment well beyond his means. For a concrete example, the Testarossa Mix is a well-known potion that causes volcanoes to erupt with a single drop into the crater. That would be a brew beyond his means in both materials required and technique, and so would most potions whose effects are on that level.

[spoiler=Miscellaneous]

  • Has no real friends to speak of. His most important person is his sister. His downer attitude prevents him from believing for even a second that any other female would be interested in him romantically and naturally, being a secluded rich child he has little experience befriending people.
  • Although he's quite good at potioncraft, he hasn't formally learned it from an institute or such, and does not have a license of any kind.
  • Also rather decent at mixing alcohol. He lacks the necessary discipline to become a bartender but he knows his drinks. Not actually fond of drinking because he fears the lack of self-control could lead to him saying something embarrassing.
  • Since the roleplay was called Cherry Heart I picked a family name that had something to do with fruit. Peachfield gives a slightly different feeling than what I feel would be right for him but it's the best I can come up with.
  • Being the only decent image I found after pages of futa and bara and other homosexual imagery I decided to go with this one. The red eyes weren't really needed but I also wasn't a fan of just saying 'oh he looks like this but without x' so I might as well keep it and make something out of it.

[spoiler=The Punching Bag Wizard]

BigoE6H.png

"I could care less how many times you knock me down. Just know...I'll get back up every single time!!"

x393wz.jpg

Personal Information

x393wz.jpg

Name: Deku Shinobu

Alias: The Punching Bag Wizard

Age: 23

Sex: Male

Race: Humans

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Appearance:]

QwS8IaU.png

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 150 lbs

Depicted above is Deku's general appearance and attire. However, the hair color is a rustic blonde color while his eyes a dark amber color. His Guild Mark, when received, will be on his left shoulder.

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Personality:]

Deku is a respectable young man who is always there to lend a helping hand to those around him, whether they be allies, friends, or even complete strangers. And given what he's been through in growing up, its a surprise he can still bring himself to smile.

He gives 100% in everything he does and will never back down from anything, even if it means he'll take a beating (which to be honest, he actually encourages). However, with the look Deku has every time he's beaten, people might mistaken him for being a masochist (just enjoying the pain, nothing more). Thankfully, Deku isn't one and literally ends up hating himself for ending up taking more punches or blows by an opponent than he needs just to use his magic. On the contrary, he is a laid back mage who is always determined to figure out problems to always eager to help.

However, the biggest thing he is focused on is earning enough money through the missions he takes in order to help his mother recover and pay for her medical bill. Deku is always writing letters to her, hoping that she'll eventually wake up and write back to him, but if anything the writing just helps him to stop missing her.

During a mission/fight Deku is usually the first one to jump into the fray, if only to get his Martyr Magic up and activated. In a fight, he usually keeps himself within a level headed mentality in order to think carefully and to be able to strike effectively. Otherwise, he'd just be swinging away and wasting a whole lot of his energy.

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Biography:]

"Ever since I was young, life has always found a way to screw me over and knock me down. But...I never gave up."

Deku was born to a couple who were ex-Magic Guild members, both hugely strong and proficient in magic. The mother, Mine Shinobu, dealt with Aegis Magic, while the father, Nagin Shinobu, dealt with Weapon Soul Take Over Magic. The two were quite popular around Arbolia, known as "The Sword and Shield Wizards" back in the day. However, after Deku was born, a monster descended upon the town where they lived. Rather than escape, Nagin told Mine to keep Deku protected and he'd take care of the creature. ...Unfortunately, it took every last bit of Nagin's magic to combat the beast...but in the end, the creature ultimately ran away after killing Nagin. Because of this, Mine fell into a depression and refused to use her magical abilities, mentally blocking them.

Years began to pass and Mine never was able to remarry, just because of her strong depression, therefore Deku would remain without a father figure in his life. However, growing up without a father was the least of Deku's worries. As he grew up, he began to get bullied hard by the kids around the town, not because of him not having a father. No, it was because Deku had no magical abilities (at least, not visible). So day in and day out, the kids bullied Deku and beat him up, the young child not exactly being able to do much to stop them or defend himself. However, through it all, Mine was there to help Deku up and nurse his wounds and bruises. Her thoughts were "kids will be kids" with this, so naturally she didn't step in to stop this. Until one fateful day...many years later.

A group raiders from a recently disbanded Dark Guild came into town and started terrorizing everyone in it...this included the Shinobu's. Deku and Mine were drugged out of their home and about to be either killed or taken as a slave. However, Mine's instincts not just as a mother but as a wizard sprung to life and she used as much as her Aegis Magic as she possibly could. However, it wasn't much due to her not exercising her magic abilities in such a long time, all it succeeded in doing was pushing the raiders back away from them. And at the end of it, Mine fell over unconscious. This left Deku alone beside his unconscious mother with these raiders closing in on them. Of course, Deku tried to defend his mother, but was just knocked away like it was nothing. The raider leader ordered for the unconscious Mine to be killed right there on the spot...that's when Deku finally had enough. Deku rushed towards the leader and struck back and when he did, he found the true nature of his newly developed magical abilities, sending him back towards his allies and knocking them all back quite a ways away. All the beating the kids did to him over the years did had built up magical energy within him, stockpiling it, waiting for it to be released. Though he guessed that the magic he had could only be gathered by being attacked and beaten. Thus, he named this newly discovered magic Martyr Magic.

With the raiders out of  the town (for the moment) and his mother in a comatose state, Deku set out to find the easiest way to make money with his newly discovered magical abilities... And with a certain Magic Guild hiring new wizards...that's a good place as any to make some money!

x393wz.jpg

[spoiler=Abilities:]

Martyr Magic - A type of magic that Deku created himself is a peculiar one. It requires for the user to take a bit of a beating in order to generate enough magical energy to surface. It goes without saying that even when he hasn't been beaten for a period of time, the magical energy has still stockpiled and built up within him. With tapping into this magical energy, the user can utilize it in some interesting ways. However, Deku needs to stay conscious to be able to immediately use the powers of his Martyr Magic, otherwise, the magical energy generated will be stored for later use.

  • Reflector Strike - Channeling the magical energy that is either been given to Deku by the sheer beating, or from his reserves, he summons forth an orange Magic Seal around his fists or legs. This prompts Deku to be able to strike at his opponent in a way of either punches or kicks...or even both.
  • Reflector Burst - Channeling the magical energy, Deku summons forth an orange Magic Seal right under his feet. This prompts Deku to be able to accelerate himself at a quicker rate or even allow him to jump higher than he could before performing this technique.

[spoiler=Sure Why Not]

Name: Geo Dmitri Newton

Age: 26

Sex: Male

Species/Race: Human

[spoiler=Appearance: ]

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 190 lbs

2ZQVYF7.jpg

[spoiler=Personality:]

Dmitri is a very mild tempered mage among the crowds of hot heads.  Being a very intelligent, and well mannered individual, he is seen as a sort of black sheep in the magic community.  However, his calm demeanor can easily change depending on how dirty his environment is.  Dmitri is a clean freak, and loves organization, almost scarily so.  His clothes are always cleaned and pressed, and he leaves a shining path wherever he walks.

Dmitri also happens to be a very generous person.  Everywhere he goes, he loves to share knowledge about certain facts indicative to whatever situation he might be in, regardless of how unwanted or how useful the facts are.  He just wishes to bestow knowledge onto a community of...peers whom aren't usually as educated as he is.  Though that may make him seem condescending, he is anything but.  Dmitri is the definition of gentle and kind.

[spoiler=Biography:]

One look at Dmitri, and you could tell that the boy was born in a book.  Although, Dmitri would be inclined to correct them of their mistake and tell those people that he was in fact born in a small town near the base of the Valais Mountains.  Although he grew with little, he was still able to get his hands on as many books as his small arms could handle.  When he wasn't reading books about Magic Theory, he would instead read the fairy tales of old, depicting brave mages who fought against the forces of dark magic.  There was always that glimpse of adventure resting inside his heart, but Dmitri never fully grasped it.

Many years passed, and Dmitri had become a school teacher in his town.  He taught the next generation basic math, language, and of course, magic theory.  This next generation seemed to be raring to adventure, always practicing magic during recess.  It almost made Dmitri a little jealous that all of these children had such ambition, while he had sat at home with his nose glued to the pages of his books.  Dmitri had always had potential in magic, especially a magic he had devised called Prism Magic, but he wasn't very confident.  On morning during school, Dmitri demonstrated his Prism Magic to his students during a math lesson.  This lesson was the Pythagorean Theorem, and Mr. Dmitri had made a simple triangle with his light construct.  Needless to say, all of the students were mesmerized and demanded Mr. Dmitri teach them that type of magic.  After his students failed to replicate it, Dmitri had a hard time of figuring out how to do so.

Dmitri thought that with a little more practice and advancement into this special kind of magic, maybe he could perfect how to teach it to other generations!  He would show Prism magic to the world, and teach all of those who had not heard of it.  As he gave a farewell speech to his students, he left them in the capable hands of a substitute from a faraway city.  With newfound exhilaration, Dmitri decided he would ignite the flame that was his curiosity.  He would figure out what all those books were based on, if they were fact or fiction.  Maybe he would even write a new book, detailing his adventures in magic!  It was off to Cherry Heart!

[spoiler=Abilities:]

Prism Magic: Can summon light constructs in the shape of 3D geometric shapes.  These prisms can be used for multiple uses, such as barriers, and small explosive devices.  They are also very useful at reflecting light and other forms of energy.  Dmitri can summon at least 10 of these constructs at a time, but the multitude he is able to summon is also dependent on how large the structures he creates are.

Thanks everyone for showing your interests! I've read the apps that has been posted so far, and if anyone that hasn't been added to the Skype Chat that wants to, can add me there and PM me about it.

Aww Sheeeet!

Alrighty, are we allowed to re-use characters from last time?

If so, app goes here.

Heck, app will go here anyway.

Yeah, you are allowed to reuse your character from there. Note that they should be treated as a completely new character though.

Anyway...an announcement.

I am aiming to start this around the first weeks of March, March 10th being the latest, and so, deadline for applications will be in March 1st.

This is so I can review everything and so you guys can do the appropriate changes necessary.

Also, there will be a 12 characters limit for the start of this RP. It is possible that some of you wouldn't make it. This is mainly to prevent the RP from starting out being too overcrowded and chaotic, which would be pretty overwhelming to handle. This will be decided after the reviews and after the apps are fixed, so around one week before the RP starts. I will open the RP to more people once things settle down, but that would be for later or when people drops.

Thank you for your interest here~

[spoiler=Stoneshapen Sweetheart]

x1SpDFB.png
"There is a daffodil under your foot. It is asking you to not stand on it. Please hurry; it does not have much longer."

Name: Lily

Age: 132

Gender: Feminine

Race: Golem

[spoiler=Appearance]YsaTrSy.png
Height: 7'3" (221cm)
Weight: 670 pounds (304kg)

Being a golem, the first thing many people tend to notice about Lily is that she's made of stone. Based on her appearance, Lily's creator was probably trying for a human appearance, but if so, either they hadn't seen a human in a good long while, or they decided to take some creative liberties. At a glance, Lily's appearance is perfectly normal, but further observation will bring to attention some details that don't quite match up with what a human should look like.

Her limbs, for instance, get very thin around the elbows and knees, then widen up to create large hands and feet that don't have any wrists or ankles to speak of. Lily's hands only have four fingers each, as opposed to five, and her fingers are a bit on the stubby side with how thick they are compared to their length, before ending in sharp points. Her feet, meanwhile, only have three toes each, and her knee joints face backwards instead of forwards. However, she does have "hair", meaning her head was shaped to look like it has hair. Lily's "hair" is short and swept to the right, also covering the right side of her face, revealing just her mouth and eye.

Lily's eye, much unlike the rest of her, isn't stone at all. Rather, an emerald sits in the left side of her face, dull in color and large in size. This emerald is Lily's core, and whoever put it there did a really good job of making sure it wouldn't fall out. In the interest of adapting to the idea of decency, Lily also clothes herself, even if it's just with a yellow bandana and apron. In her defense, there aren't lots of options for 7-foot golems, and they're still totally optional.

[spoiler=Personality]Lily is a person who greatly values group efforts and good communication. She always makes sure she voices her intent clearly with any teammates of hers, and pays close attention when others do the same, so that she knows how to work around everyone's schedules. She doesn't like inconveniencing people, so she doesn't usually ask for assistance if she's having trouble with something. However, if somebody offers a helping hand, she won't turn it down, and welcomes the assist. Inversely, if asked for help, Lily typically isn't one to say no; she's very good about helping people with even the most trivial of tasks so long as one simply asks for her assistance. She especially likes working with plants, and has lately taken a liking to cooking, although by her own admittance she isn't very good at the latter yet.

Lily is also a notably patient individual. Ever calm and damn near impossible to anger, Lily has been alive for long enough to know that the best things in life are worth waiting for, like watching flowers bloom yearly when their season arrives or a specific holiday. She also knows that there isn't really much point in anger; all it's good for is violence. Which is fine. Others can fight if they must, but Lily wants nothing to do with violence, and encourages finding more peaceful solutions to problems. It seems that the only way to really make her legitimately angry instead of just mildly flustered is to deliberately kill wild flora or fauna for no reason at all. When angered...well, even an angry Lily isn't that dangerous, but she won't hesitate to use her power over plants to disable the villain and bring them to somebody with a more violent nature than hers.

Actually, outside of her stoic - yet optimistic - calm, there doesn't seem to be much for Lily in terms of the emotional spectrum. She feels the same as everyone else, but can have trouble expressing herself. As such, it may be easy to miss that she actually gets lonely pretty easily. Perhaps because most of her life was wandering around talking to plants, Lily craves interactions and kinship with things that actually have mouths and don't get their food from photosynthesis. Expect Lily to be eager to both start and maintain a friendship. She's a pretty good friend too. She's always got somebody's back, but won't hesitate to call them out if she thinks they're in the wrong. She forgives transgressions made against her, but often won't forget. And if somebody needs a rock to tie them down...well, she is a rock.

[spoiler=Biography]Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a wizard who lived far from civilization. He was self-sufficient, and tended to farmland around his tower so that he wouldn't have to leave his home and get distracted from his research. However, over time, the wizard began to grow old. Even with his magic, he could only slow his aging so much, and eventually became too weak to tend to his crops. However, rather than finding an apprentice, the wizard - not too keen on sharing his secrets - instead created an assistant of his own. Using magic to shape some nearby stones and then giving the proper enchantments to an old emerald lying in his storage, the wizard created a golem, who never had a proper name at first.

As your run-of-the-mill construct, the golem - female in shape - didn't really think for herself at all. She would receive orders, carry them out, and then wait patiently for the cycle to continue. She'd tend to the crops, bring in the ones ready for harvesting, prepare meals, and help the wizard move things his brittle bones and aged muscles couldn't. She didn't really think anything of her situation, because she was at first built with just enough intelligence to carry out her orders. However, even she could see the wizard changing over the next few decades. Soon enough, the wizard couldn't even walk on his own, and eventually couldn't even leave his bed. It was as he lied there that he gave the golem her first gift and final orders, 119 years after her creation.

Lily was given the gift of self-awareness and human-like intelligence. She was given directions to a magical scroll within the wizard's tower that could destroy the tower and all within it. And she was then given the last orders she'd ever received.

"Destroy this tower, forget everything about it and me, then be free."

Lily, finally graced with the ability to think for herself, hesitated for a bit. However, orders were orders, and recalling the decades she'd spent with the wizard, she knew it was what he'd want. And so, Lily obliged, setting up the scroll and leaving the tower for the first and last time as it crumbled. And then, hours later, she forgot all about the tower, the wizard, and everything related to them, just as ordered. Then came her final order. Being free. Lily, in all honesty, wasn't really sure what she wanted to do with her life; it took her a week just to figure out a name, and even that was after debating some possibilities with a sequoia tree. For a good while ten years, she just meandered about. Eventually, she met a group of adventurers. The meeting was brief and altogether not noteworthy, but to Lily, something about them appealed to her. Perhaps it was the kinship with others, or being able to go out on grand adventures. Maybe she just wanted to mimic the first occupation she really got to see up-close. Whatever the case, Lily decided she wanted to be an adventurer.

She spent the next three years traveling, only now with a goal instead of the aimless wandering she'd been doing. Unfortunately, the guilds she visited simply weren't having her. Some thought a golem trying to join a guild was just a prank from some bored magician. Others simply told her she didn't meet the requirements, be it combat prowess or reputation. It was as she was striking up some conversation with a patch of moss a ways out of Prunus that it told her a rumor. A guild called Cherry Heart was recruiting. It wasn't the best guild, Lily had been told, but it was worth a shot. Apparently, Lily agreed with the moss's sentiment, since she made for Prunus to join Cherry Heart.

And what do you know, she got in.

[spoiler=Abilities]Made of Rock: Lily, as a golem made of stone, has some natural perks her fleshier guildmates don't get to enjoy. She doesn't need to breathe, eat, or sleep, and is a lot tougher than a person made of meat and bone would be. It also means illness and most poisons won't affect her, but something of a more corrosive nature like acid would still work just fine. Of course, on the other hand, it also means Lily can't naturally heal her wounds like a human can, and will sink like a stone in water, because...well, she is a stone. You'd think that being made of rock would make Lily super-strong, but that isn't really the case. If anything, she's a bit weaker than the average person, and she moves pretty slowly too.

Plant Communication/Manipulation: Lily's emerald core gives her the ability to talk to plant life. And not only that, but she can control it as well! Lily can use her magic to stimulate the birth and growth of plants, cause them to shrink or wither, or to reverse any changes she's made. This ability requires pre-existing plants or seeds; she's a gardener, not a god.

[spoiler=Equipment]Bag of Seeds: A bag of varied seeds for various types of plants. Mostly for vegetables, but there are some apple seeds and pumpkin seeds mixed in as well.

[spoiler=Misc]Unable to eat due to the lack of a digestive system. She also lacks taste buds, giving her no sense of taste, which is a leading cause for the current quality of her cooking. Luckily, thanks to her power, she mostly just likes to make salads, which are pretty hard to mess up.

[spoiler=Golems]A golem, put simply, is a construct of some sort animated by magic, typically with limited intelligence so that they remain obedient to their creators. They're essentially living statues, and as such are commonly made from sturdy materials like stone or metal, though theoretically, a golem could be made from just about anything. Added to the fact that there isn't really any requirements in their design short of the means to fulfill their duties, this means golems can vary near-infinitely in appearance. What separates a golem from a regular chunk of rock or whatever other building material the creator prefers is their core; an enchanted gemstone meant to breathe life into an otherwise-lifeless sculpture.

Question:

Is this going to be always accepting, like the old one? I wanted to join the old one and now the new one but I'm worried I will be shut out again.

At present we are only accepting 12 apps for when the IC thread is to be lauched, (as noted in the previous update post by Nai.) So for now the RP shall be limited acceptance
