Wonderful and generous, but not legal. Babies with anencephaly do not meet the legal standard for brain stem death, and thus are not able to be organ                       sources. They can, however, donate corneas, and give skin and tissue grafts after their natural death. I hope that will comfort the family.

Sorry folks, someone on the internet said it can't be done.

As someone who was themselves born without a brain, I can relate to this story, and it makes me very proud to be the person I am today.

I also want answers.

how could you possibly have a substitute brain? I didn't realize we had the technology to implant that complex an organ into a person.

Wait WHAT?

Bump for answers

You guys can't possibly believe he isn't joking. Surely you are all playing along.

Surely.

As for the topic at hand: yeah, it's crazy morbid, but still an incredibly good deed. Heavy support for the idea.

He commented in a way that made it seem like he has Aspergers too when I was talking about having it. He could have been born with part of his brain not being functional.

I'm genuinely curious

Sorry people, I know I owe you an explanation. I don't currently have time for one right now though as I am off to a Yugioh event. Wish me luck!

This particular Yugioh event is ongoing and involves high stakes including but not limited to the fate of the world.

The brain matter will have to wait.

The fate of the world rests on a person without a brain? Who does speedroid think he is? Donald Drumpf?

please don't mock me folks

Update:

OK, so here's the story. It's rather gross (in my opinion) and I am not 100% on all the terminology, but I'll try my best.

So basically I was born with what is known as "ectopic brain tissue". Simply put, this means that I was born with most of my brain outside of my skull. I had to be a caesarian section to stop the brain being damaged during birth. Then they had to break my skull open - babies have very weak skull that are naturally split into (I think) 3 parts which then fuse during childhood - and carefully feed the brain tissue back in.

Sorry for the delay folks. Mum tends not to like talking about it, as you can probably imagine.

Apologies if what I said was hurtful at all, I'm sure you can see how your initial statement could be interpreted as satirical.

May I ask if you were affected on the front or back of the skull? Cursory research on encephaloceles indicates that it actually largely varies based on location in the world, which I find incredibly curious.

I also read that 75% of those affected end up with some form of mental disability. I recall you mentioning at some point that you had Asperger's, do you know if that is in any way related?

Feel free to ignore any of these questions you like, I understand if it is too personal. I am just incredibly curious.

That's really fascinating (no disrespect to your infantile sufferings).

As with Giga, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. You said most of your brain was outside your skull, so was there part of it inside? And if so, how did they fuse the brain tissues.

Overall, neato speedy
