The names of the people and the amount they paid have gone unnamed. It certainly will be a major boost if successful. If SpaceX can fly around the moon, they can almost certainly land on it. Which brings a lot of possibilities. On a side note, it will also do a lot to shut up the conspiracy theorists that say the moon landing was faked. EDIT: Whoops. Wrong section. Too bad the US stopped its space program (or severely cut back on it, hence why we have to send guys to the ISS on another country's spacecraft, though it was getting expensive).
