maybe, it would depend on who they are and what cards they use

Well, I was going to use Bakura, start with shadolls (Sinister Shadow Games works for Yami Bakura) then go to Invoked (And run milling).

And do the people who get millennium items in anime get ones in this?

no but they do get the powers they would if you choose so, how that works will be PM'd to those that need to know before the RP starts

You guys still need a Yugi, eh? I'd like to take a shot at playing that, using one of my original characters.

How is this all going to work, anyway? Is this going to be like an rp with you as the game master? Cause you seem to have your own plot planned out. How similar is it going to be to the canon plot? Could we get some more specific details on it, maybe?

Do I get to make a Yami? Are there going to be millennium items? What's going to be the situation at the start of this rp?

so many questions i should have answered already! a Yugi character is still needed, it will be similar to a game master scenario, i'll give characters direction for plot advancement when needed and inform everyone of any "secrets" their character should know about but all important decisions will be made by players. the plot of the original series is being used as a base for this one but i believe it should be unique enough to not be to predictable or obvious. as stated above certain things can't be mentioned without certain characters known but if you have anything specific you want to know i'll try to tell. the pharaoh is optional for the Yugi character. there is only one millennium item and it doesn't work how you think it does. how the Rp starts will depend on how many people join and which roles they each play.

[spoiler=Like a BOSS]

Name- Seto Kaiba

Gender Male

Age 17

Character Role- Antagonist/Deuterantagonist

Appearance -Exactly the way he looks in the anime, except rather than the complicated jacket he wears in the anime, he wears a leather trenchcoat over a Cobalt-blue t-shirt. He also has a ring depicting the Opal-Eyes Cobalt Dragon's head.

Backstory - After being adopted by Gyozaburo Kaiba, Seto and his younger sister Miki began their lives as the genius heirs to the Kaiba fortune. One problem though, Gyozaburo was an abusive man, and Seto was forced to destroy him, toppling Gyozaburo's throne and taking control of Kaibacorporation for himself, transforming it from a weapons manufacturing company to a gaming company. He has dedicated his fortune to achieving the highest form of gaming, even manufacturing official peripherals for Industrial Illusions. He is ruthless and cunning, and has a shady relationship with Sirius Tulpar.

Personality - Ruthless and cunning, there is nothing Kaiba won't do to get what he wants, and the Gods help you if you get in his way. He is Seto Kaiba: Accept no substitutes. Though Kaiba does posess a soft-spot for his sister Miki, he refuses to show this, believing that caring publicly for anyone would be taken as weakness or that his enemies and rivals would target her in their schemes. Alright, I have my character sheet finished.

User: shadowliepard

Name: Yuukei Raida

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Character Role: Yugi

Appearance: Yuukei is a slim boy, average height. Has green eyes and short feathery white hair with yellow blade-shaped bangs that curl around the right side of his head. Usually wears either his school uniform or a mostly navy blue jacket with yellow streaks. Wears a thin silver ring around his neck, like a choker.

Backstory: [spoiler= ]Yuukei lives with his grandfather and works in his game shop. By this point, he's taken over a lot of the business of the game shop, which he mostly enjoys, except sometimes he just wants to chase out the customers and work on his own things, and sometimes he would rather spend his time working a job of his own that actually pays. Yuukei loves strategy games and solving mysteries, and works on designing a few games of his own on the side. He's really into Duel Monsters, has participated in several local tournaments, and wants to someday become a national or higher champion. He slacks off often in school.

Personality: [spoiler= ]

Yuukei is quiet and thoughtful when alone. With other people, he's easygoing, cheerful, keeps up a smile, and can actually be quite charming when he wants, but he really is more of an introvert by nature. He usually acts polite publicly, and it's hard to get him to drop his facade or provoke some negative reaction from him. Very practical, observative and analytical. Lazy about school, doesn't like to do work, but on the rare occasion that something catches his interest, he'll put everything he can into it.

His friends and cards matter to him, and he doesn't forgive anyone who hurts either. Likes to set up complicated schemes and pranks to take revenge on people (sometimes too complicated), though on rare occasions people can make him skip that and just go on to trying to take them down as hard as possible. Yuukei holds himself to a high standard in things that he cares about or are a matter of personal pride to him. He's determined, stubborn sometimes, and always tries his best to fix anything that he feels personally responsible for.

Deck: Enigma Dragon

[spoiler= ]

Enigma Dragon's a Level 4 effect-copying dragon who is Yuukei's ace and gets used in nearly every one of his duels. Most of his deck focuses around Enigma and its forms - of which it has a lot, some of which will probably only appear later in the story. The rest of his monsters don't really have a theme - there are some level 4 dragons focused on battle effects, light monster support, random fusions, a mill/graveyard revival element, and he's even got a handful of Kuribohs.

Enigma Dragon

Level 4, 1500/1000, LIGHT, Dragon

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can reveal 1 monster in your hand, or target 1 face-up monster on the field or in either Graveyard; this effect becomes an effect of that card that activates when it is Summoned. Once per turn: You can target 1 other face-up monster on the field; this card gains its effects until the End Phase.

Light-Guiding Priestess

Level 3, 1200/1700, LIGHT, Spellcaster

If this card is Normal Summoned: You can draw 1 card. Once per turn: You can target 1 other monster you control; it can be treated as 2 Tributes for a Tribute Summon, or twice its Level for a Ritual Summon. If this card is destroyed by battle with an opponent's attacking monster: You can Normal Summon 1 LIGHT monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set next turn.

Enigma Advance Dragon

Level 6, 2500/2000, LIGHT, Dragon

Must first be Tribute Summoned by Tributing "Enigma Dragon". During your opponent's Battle Phase or Main Phase 2, if a monster you control was destroyed by battle this turn: You can Tribute Summon this card. When this card is Tribute Summoned: You can declare 1 card name, and if that card is in your opponent's hand or among their Set cards, shuffle it into the Deck, then this card gains 500 ATK. If this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can have this card gain its effects until your next Standby Phase. If this Tribute Summoned card leaves the field: Special Summon 1 "Enigma Dragon" from your Graveyard.

Enigma High Dragon

Level 8, 3000/1000, LIGHT, Dragon

Must first be Tribute Summoned. If this card is Tribute Summoned, all Tributes must be "Enigma Dragon" monsters. When this card is Summoned: You can target 1 monster on the field; negate its effects. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can change this card's battle position. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can decrease this card's ATK or DEF by any amount; increase this card's ATK or DEF by the same amount. Once per turn, if this card is targeted by a card effect: You can negate that effect, and if you do, this card gains that effect until the End Phase. If this Tribute Summoned card leaves the field: Special Summon 1 "Enigma Dragon" from your Graveyard.

Enigma Sigil

Ritual Spell

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Enigma Arcane Dragon". You must also Tribute "Enigma" monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal 8 or more. The Summoned monster's name becomes "Enigma Dragon". During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from the Graveyard; add 1 "Enigma Dragon" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

Enigma Arcane Dragon

Level 8, 2600/2000, DARK, Dragon, Ritual

When this card is Ritual Summoned: You can target 1 monster on the field; destroy it and 1 Spell/Trap Card in its column. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, then reveal 1 Spell/Trap Card from your hand or target 1 Spell/Trap Card in either Graveyard; this effect becomes an activated effect of that card. If this Ritual Summoned card leaves the field: Special Summon "Enigma Dragon" from your Graveyard.

Enigma Burst Dragon

Level 4, 1000/1500, LIGHT, Dragon

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Quick Effect: You can return "Enigma Dragon" you control to your hand; Special Summon this card. Once per turn, if this card is targeted or would be destroyed by a card effect, or by battle: You can negate that effect or destruction. Quick Effect: You can return this card to your hand; Special Summon 1 "Enigma Dragon" from your hand, but you cannot activate effects when it is Summoned. You can only use this effect of "Enigma Burst Dragon" once per turn.

Trick-Flame Dragon

Level 4, 1300/600, FIRE, Dragon

If you take damage: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If a Dragon-Type monster you control attacks, your opponent cannot activate Set cards until the end of the Damage Step. If this card attacks: You can target 1 Set Spell/Trap Card on the field; that card's controller must Set 1 Spell/Trap Card from their hand, if possible, also, after that, return that target to the hand.

Soulweaver

Level 3, 1300/800, LIGHT, Fairy

If you would take damage from an attack or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard, then halve the damage you would take. If a monster is Special Summoned from the Graveyard: Gain 500 LP. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can shuffle it into the Deck; Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower monster from your Graveyard.

Kuriboh LV10

Level 10, 0/0, DARK, Fiend

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If a "Kuriboh" you control is targeted for an attack: You can Tribute it; Special Summon this card from your hand in Attack Position, and if you do, this card gains the ATK of all Attack Position monsters your opponent currently controls. Quick Effect: You can Tribute this card; you take no damage for the rest of the turn.

...How many cards do we have to make? Because I'm really not feeling up to making generic support right now.

I have to make every battle-stopping trap I might pull out of my ass right now? How does that even work? You can't just assume I have a RotA that adds Enigma Dragon to my hand, I have to write it down? What about existing cards included in my deck?

Yuukei's deck is hard to make.

existing cards don't need to be listed but any cards you make yourself must be mentioned ahead of time to avoid ex machina's and to give opponents something to base their choices off of (assuming you improve the duel)

Would it be possible to play a character with ties to later series? For example, someone who would be basically be if a character from GX or 5D's was around during the original series, though with their deck adjusted to fit with the idea of prioritizing Fusion monsters. Essentially, it would mean a character whose personal story could be seen as a prequel of sorts to those later series.

it seems kind of pointless since they really wouldn't be that character or a version of that character

[spoiler=The Underdog]

Name: Joey Maroon

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Appearance: 1Vg9bU2.png

Character Role: non-specific friend of yugi character

Backstory: At the age 8, Joeys mother died of cancer. He and his sister lives with their father, until his sister suffered from blinding, before dying on the surgery table. With a rocky relationship left with his father, he gave up on the high life and took to the streets. During this time, he was acquainted with game of Duel Monsters, except, he took up in an underground betting arena, where people placed their bets on the winners, and sometimes to go as far as to betting on the first monster they would use. At the age of 13, he was a champ of the underground ring, and rarely lost a match. Until they were busted and everyone was arrested, except Joey. He escaped and ran off to an old abandoned apartment, which he fixed up. The only thing on his mind, survival

Personality: Cold and calculating. Joey is usually mistaken for a thug from his attitude. He's loyal to people who are loyal to him, and only people who are loyal to him. And he's not the greatest guy. Joey is usually found doing really bad things for his age, like drinking, smoking and lots of weed. He's only truly happy when he's dueling, when his inner voice comes out and he duels till his heart stops beating. So yeah, in short, he's a messed up kid dealing with grown up kids, and his only way out is dueling.

Deck: Maroon-Eyes, a deck that focuses on Fusion Summoning by destroying Maroon-Eyes Night Dragon and any card equipped to it.

So yeah, in short, he's a messed up kid dealing with grown up kids, and his only way out is dueling.

Deck: Maroon-Eyes, a deck that focuses on Fusion Summoning by destroying Maroon-Eyes Night Dragon and any card equipped to it.

Custom cards here: (theres a typo on Scape dragon)

maroon arm shield and maroon scapegoat have no reason to equip besides making their matching fusions maybe give them some actual use while equipped to something, besides that I have no problem with the cards except some minor wording things that don't really matter (your fusions say to "destroy" the required monsters instead of "tribute"). anyway accepted

the IC is up, some vital information before posting, as I'm sure you'll figure out The Eternal Keep is the Millennium Puzzle equivalent and will be the only millennium item as it it's self is not what matters but what's inside, as stated in the IC it's a soul prison, specifically the one containing the duel spirits of all the monsters in the game, the Pharaoh, and the Dartz character (should no one that joins take the roles I'll unfortunately have to do it myself, this may or may not apply to both yami Marik and Bakura as well). I did not place Yuya-Kuns Joey character as i'd like to give them the choice of where to be as long as they are not Kaiba's foe. hopefully everyone will enjoy this and we can get more people to join.
