Make a Link Monster Game

Recommended Posts

(I don't like double bumping Game threads, but since Links are here now; you guys need to get acclimated to it [self included])

Mecha Phantom Beast Kitsunefighter

Link 3 | WIND | Machine | Link | Effect

ATK 2400

SW / S / SE

2+ monsters

Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects while you control a Token. Monsters linked to this card gain 300 ATK and DEF, also when those monster battles, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 Token or 1 monster linked to this card; banish 1 card your opponent controls or in their GY.

(At least MPB have an in-Archetype boss that they can actually build off Raiten for. I did make a Link 2 for them as well earlier on, but sideways markers.)

Machine

Link 2 or higher

I'll let you choose the other specs for it; mainly because Links still haven't covered a lot of bases yet in Types and would be nice to see non-Cyberse Links. Just try not to add to the list of Links that need Yusaku to work.

An ode to Holograh,(http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/HolograhThe first Machine-Type.

Cybergrah

EARTH/Machine/Link/Effect

1100/Link-2

Link Points: S/N

2 Machine Monsters

When a Machine Monster is Summoned to a zone this card points to, you can add 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type Monster from your deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Cybergrah" once per turn.

EZ generic Machine support.

I got better things for it besides making it a searcher (not that Atlanteans need it)

Atlantean General

Link 2 | WATER | Sea Serpent | Link | Effect

ATK 1700

SW / SE

2 monsters, except Tokens

WATER monsters gain 300 ATK and DEF, also they cannot be destroyed by battle once per turn. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 monster linked to this card; banish 1 card in either player's hand or GY; then if you Tributed a WATER monster to activate this effect, add 1 WATER monster from your Deck to your hand.

(Uh yeah, I am aware of how degenerate the plays will be in Mermail/Atlantean with a new toy for them, but that's also why other WATER decks can't have nice things; also screw Treatoad. Also yes, it does search, but with a different trigger.)

This card gains 500 ATK points for each card it points to. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent activates an effect that would destroy 1 Insect-type monster you control, you can destroy 1 of the cards in this card's Link Markers instead.

This was supposed to be a retrain of Killer Needle

I kinda have to mention Crawlers being a possible abuse source for this; that, and its stat boost effect off of its above average ATK for a Link 2 [even with the markers].

But...

Magician's Armor

Link 1 | DARK | Spellcaster | Link | Effect

ATK 800

Monsters linked to this card cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. (Quick Effect) You can send this card and 1 monster linked to it to the GY; Special Summon 1 Spellcaster monster from your hand, Deck or GY, ignoring Summoning conditions. That monster cannot attack or activate its effects this turn.

Code Bugger

Attribute: DARK
Type: Insect/Link/Effect
Link: 2
Link Markers: bottom-left, left
ATK: 1800
2 Effect monsters

You can target 1 Link monster you control: Excavate cards equal to the number of Link Arrows the targeted monster has, add 1 of those cards to your hand, then return the rest to the bottom of the Deck in any order. During either player's turn: You can Tribute this card, then target 1 Cyberse, Machine or Psychic monster your opponent controls; take control of it, and if you do, it is destroyed during the End Phase of your next turn. You can only use each effect of "Code Bugger" once per turn.

Only works with Link Monsters, but don't complain about it being a generic Link 1 that helps you ladder.

If an effect is activated that would target a Machine-type monster, you can have it target this monster instead. When this card is Link Summoned, you can target 1 "Cyber Dragon" in your GY, Special Summon that target. Once per turn, you can target 1 card in this card's Link Marker, banish it, and if you do, send 1 Machine-type monster from your Deck to the GY.

Should be fun to use in a Cyber Dragon.dek

If you guys learned anything from Moana, Kanaloa/Tanaloa/Tagaloa/Tangaroa (different names in Pacific nations) is an ocean deity; NOT the underworld god. Also whale because one of his forms.

This is not Tamatoa.

Wikipedia rarely updates Pacific island deity pages, but a whale is one of Kanaloa's forms [in Hawaiian mythology]. I do not know if he takes on other forms in other Polynesian cultures; think roughly the same, but idk. Also Tamatoa isn't even a real god. Yeah, I took a whole semester on Hawaiian religion in spring, so...I should know what deities exist in Polynesia [well, least the ones that are somewhat shared in Hawai'i].

Because monsters cannot count as 0 material, and yeah, Link Monsters can't count as a Normal Pendulum without shitting on rules, I'll modify the prompt a bit.

Risebell the Awakened Summoner
Link 2 | WIND | Psychic | Link | Effect
ATK 1600
W / SE
2 Normal Pendulum Monsters
Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can activate 1 of these effects.

● Add up to 3 face-up Pendulum Monsters in your Extra Deck to your hand.
● Target a number of monsters on the field with a Level or Rank on the field, up to the number of monsters linked to this card +1, then declare a Level from 1 to 8; those monster's Levels or Ranks become that Level or Rank.

● Target 1 card in your Pendulum Zone and declare a number from 1 to 12; that card's Pendulum Scale becomes that Pendulum Scale until the end of this turn.

I think I put too much on it, but yeah, even more Pendulum support.

@Sakura: IDK, spending 2 monsters on a card with no pointers towards your side, and for a battle-reliant, albeit strong, removal... I wouldn't keep the card on the field after the Battle Phase and use it as material for a different Link monster.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't either (and most of my Link designs usually are pointed towards the summoner). Could probably modify the effect/markers a bit so linked monsters on your end get the effect, or just buff its ATK to compensate.

IDK, might post a revised one in CC when I figure out what to do with it.

This card cannot be targeted for an attack when it's pointing to a monster. If a monster in the same column as this card or in the adjacent columns activates an effect; you can negate that effect and destroy that monster and all monsters adjacent to it.

Hopefully the wording isn't too horrible.
