Does level, member group, etc. mean anything to you?

Considering I voted for Opalmoon (wherever she is these days) to be a moderator when she was at like 500-600 posts if not less... no, I dont think it matters in most sections. Inside CC yes though because holy sh** site name and expectations of young'ns to visit there.

It's worthless. Good for a bit of customizing yourself to look more unique but otherwise no. There are a fair amount of people with lots of stars that I do not particularly respect more than the usual mob and there are new people(although extremely rare now) who can turn out to be a really interesting member. The level just doesn't tell me enough.

YES! I absolutely love my member group, I got it for guessing all the monsters in the Halloween event last year. Xyz monsters are cool and I use them in almost every deck! (Although I do wish I was a better Rank. Rank 5 is pretty boring).

Once you hit 5000 posts, I'll modify your logo to be a Rank 6 (but that's a long way coming). As much as it would be less of a pain to replace the standard Level stars with Ranks, I don't think IP.Boards can do that.

For the most part, I don't really think about my user level and stuff. Yeah, I'm technically a mod right now, but I still class myself as a Level 7 member (well, 32,700+ posts over a span of 8 years, give/take some time off from my hiatus). Not really going to hit the 40K marker for a while (though I do keep 1K increments as I go up; shown with milestone cards in CC.)

I forgot if I even did the milestone thing before I left; don't think I did or was for 100 post increments (at which time, posting was several times faster).

How is Raven?  You still talk to her?

And no, I don't think levels or post count mean much.  Except in RP.  There, they mean everything.

Oddly enough she's one of the only oldies that I could be considered friends (or at least acquaintances) with that I don't have regular contact with or at least a means to talk to. So no, sadly. Hope she's doing great and all that.

For me, levels, member groups and title has it's own meanings that is inevitable.

  • Level or stars shows how much I have contributed to this site and gives me motivation to strive for the highest possible level, making the journey meaningful. The more stars, the better it is (and more shiny it is). It also shows that you've experienced more with the site
  • While member groups are unique and distinct to each other, with their own flavor, color, and style. Well, I'd like to be on a distinct "Musical" member group to show my interest in music and give a special impression to it....
  • Titles are also fun to tamper with since it has almost no limit of creativity and it gives special acknowledgement to its holder....
