Paintbrush Artist archtype "Lets paint"

Recommended Posts

The archtype itself is based on Colors, or mixed colors if you will think of them as a archtype that changes colors just to confuse the opponent.This archtype's play style is similar to gladiator beast, but in a way changes up attributes Once per turn, also their effects go off when special summoned so let's Paint, and Enjoy :)

[spoiler=Example]

If a paintbrush artist monster with a WATER attribute is Summoned: you can activate its effect to target a FIRE attribute, and it changes to a WATER attribute. If you want to Fusion Summon a monster without a time to waste on polymerization you can match the 2 Attributes, or with a different attribute to Fusion Summon.

i am too inexperienced to give you advice about the cards, but i do have a suggestion. Don't be afraid to crop away parts of the artwork, stretching the artwork makes the characters look deformed in ways that look unintentional

In the future, make sure you at least mention something about the card's design in terms of playability and stuff. Comments like this break the Advanced Clause, because they do not provide help for the member to work on their cards. If this were the Showcase section or something (or if you wrote something about playability), then you could talk about this.

You don't have to know the metagame to post, but at least show us that you have some degree of knowledge of how stuff works.

In terms of balancing and reworking

[spoiler=Effect Monsters]

I think the effect

"When this card attacks, or was attacked: Shuffle this card into the Deck, then Special Summon 1 "Paintbrush Artist" monster from your Deck except "This card's name""

could be worked on as it seems to be an infinite loop that allows you to continuously attack and potentially One turn kill, unless that is intentional.

Also, I think sticking to Consistency and similarity in cards is a nice direction to go, i.e.

"When this card attacks, or was attacked: Shuffle this card into the Deck, then Special Summon 1 "Paintbrush Artist" monster from your Deck except "This card's name"

or

"If this card attacks, or is attacked: Shuffle this card into the Deck, then Special Summon 1 "Paintbrush Artist" monster with a different name from your Deck."

for all of their effects.

[spoiler=Fusion Monsters]

Also, for the fusion monsters, they also look like they can infinitely loop and cause mayhem as they aren't limited.

If we look at "Paintbrush Artist - Teal Successor",

"You can Fusion Summon this card by Shuffling the above Fusion Materials you control into the Deck. (You do not use Polymerization.) When this card is Special Summoned: Target up to 2 cards on the Field; Shuffle those targets into the Deck. You can Shuffle this card into the Extra Deck, then Special Summon 2 "Paintbrush Artist" monsters from your Deck. (This is a Quick Effect.)"

This effect can be abused since the monster can be continuously summoned repeatedly and can pretty much shuffle the whole field into the Deck. A limiter like

"You can only use this effect of "This card's name" once per turn"

or

"You can only Special Summon "This card's name" once per turn"

Is something I would recommend to be used. Unless that is your goal, then it is fine

Other than those little issues, i think that its looking great. The ideal of contact fusion is always fun to look at because of the many

potential and strategy that is put in. Keep up the good work and continued releasing.

Thanks for the idea I'm about to fix it rn, plus adding more cards to it.

2 New Fusion Monsters added to the archtype

It's already fixed but the Fusion monsters that was a goal of mine in case of ignister.

If you need to update something before the 12 hour period elapses, then just update the thread and then announce them later. This isn't the first time you early bumped.

Looking around and reading your couple of changes and newly added cards

[spoiler=Paintbrush Artist - Orange]

This one might have a typo. It calls for targeting a monster

in your Deck, but that isn't a nessecary step, or rather i dont think its possible

i think you might have meant "Reveal" or just "Special Summon" one without anything

[spoiler=Paintbrush Artist - Yellow]

I think this card is missing a few words in the effect

"If you control a face-up "Paintbrush Artist" monster except this card: you can Shuffle 1 "Paintbrush Artist" monster you control..."

it doesn't designate where to shuffle your monster

[spoiler=Paintbrush Artist - Black & White]

Just a little typo, but it says

"send to the Deck"

in the effect but i think you might have meant

"Shuffle into..." "place on the top..." "place on the bottom..."

or something

[spoiler=Paintbrush Art Kit - Idealistic Artwork]

This card might have a typo in it. It has a similar effect to

"The Project of the Painbrush Artist"

but it adds 1 less card and it can only be activated once per turn.

[spoiler=Artist Painting Panel]

this trap card might have been made to be a counter trap, unless you

prefer it to be a normal trap.

Minor typos or intentional issues, but I know the difficulties of creating multiple types

of cards and wording them.

Painting panel I prefer to be only just a normal trap card I'll admit firsthand I was inspired by every solemn trap cards in yugioh, but I couldn't stand the fact that many people have to pay Life points to negate the summon, but painting panel doesn't do that it doesn't destroy a monster it shuffles it into the deck now that I had that idea from the wiretap trap card.
