Battaglia

Continous Spell

You can send 1 LIGHT monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Melodious" monster from your hand, but you can only Special Summon "Melodious" monsters for the rest of the turn. If you Fusion Summon a "Melodious" monster: You can target 1 Level 5 or lower "Melodious" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.You can only use each effect of "Battaglia" once per turn.

Melodious have got backwards design. They all trigger off Special Summoning or being Special Summoned, but are inherently limited by a lack of outlets to do that. There are ways around it, and they have some neat stuff, but Konami got too scared of the lock that KONAMI ITSELF CREATED to capitalize on the gimmick. This serves to allow the deck some form of flexibility, to not be inherently minused like crazy simply for playing in-theme or getting locked out by cards that force them to start from nothing to get something.

Also I'm going to miss Yuzu. She got too little love.

Let's say you run Mozarta. With this card, you can Special Summon a Melodious from your hand and send Mozarta to the graveyard. After that, you can Fusion Summon and bring out Mozarta simultaneously. After that, Mozarta's effect can be used to get out another monster within the same turn. Seems a bit overpowered, don't you think? I suggest making it so the monster in your graveyard is added to your hand instead of Summoned to avoid this overwhelming chain of events.

Also, I'm curious about how you named Battaglia.

Part of the idea behind the card is to allow Melodious the ability to actually string together a combo instead of being force to piece together advantage over the course of a significant amount of turns. However, I recognize that it may be a little much to give access to the Maestras. Perhaps making it limited to Level 5 or lower (thus letting you be able to bring back Elegy, but not the Maestras) would help stem that abusability?

A battaglia is a form of renaissance and baroque programme music imitating a battle. The renaissance form is typically in the form of a madrigal for four or more voices where cannons, fanfares, cries, drum rolls, and other noises of a battle are imitated by voices. The baroque form is more often an instrumental depiction of a battle.

I think that would help make it less flexible, yeah.

I've never heard of it before, but it sounds cool.
