Blue-Eyes TCG

In light of the new support, I decided to try redesigning my Blue-Eyes deck. I went and looked at a few pro decks that topped in February, and I settled on this deck: http://yugiohtopdecks.com/deck/6132

Now, I went and downloaded the deck into YGoPro, and it's actually really fun, and I am on a win streak. But there are several cards I don't like and I need help choosing replacements.

Vanity's Emptiness because it's banned in TCG.

Maxx "C" because we are only allowed 1 in TCG?

Most of the extra deck:

-ABC Dragon Buster

-Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss

-Stardust Spark Dragon

-Toadally Awesome

And I don't like the Side Deck (I was never good at side decking).

I want to get more S/T removal in the Extra Deck and maybe Maiden instead of a second Maxx "C" and some kind of trap, like maybe Castle of Dragon Souls or something. I can also see a Starlight Road plus Stardust Dragon and Tragoedia being in the deck.  But I'm asking you guys because I was never good at deckbuilding.

A few questions about the extra deck.

-Black Rose Dragon (Shuffle SS enemy boss?)

-Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon (Battle enemy boss?)

-Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn (Banish enemy boss?)

Crystal Wing is used mainly to negate effects as far as I have seen it used. It's also incredibly expensive now.

You definitely could replace Dante and ABC because neither are used, but you could put in Drancia and Broadbull in their places for the Winter Cherries

Why would you not use a side deck? That's like not using 15 cards in your extra deck. You're allowed to have cards to use against your opponent, so use them. For example, if you open Cherries while Toadally Awesome or Drancia are in your extra deck, you can snipe out either of those super annoying cards.

You could try Silent Doom to bring back Blue-Eyes, but it's gimmicky. I would consider another Dimensional Barrier and maybe Solemn Strike.

D.D. Crow gets rid of used Ratpier so they can't bring it back. With only 1 left over the Deck might collapse on itself. You could try out 2x Slumber, 1x Kumongous, 1x Dogoran for the Kaiju engine too.

Basically I'd try to make it a bit anti-meta using side deck for Paleozoic and Zoodiac. The Deck hasn't aged well but maybe it could work

Black Rose Moonlight and Michael are both for Summoning off Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon. You can then summon a Level 1 tuner and make Crystal Wing.

ABC, Dante and Toadally are for Ghost Reaper and WInter Cherries in the side deck.

Stardust Spark Dragon is supposed to made in the same way as Crystal Wing. It's for when you have Vanity's Emptiness. Since Vanity's is no longer legal, you wouldn't play SD Spark Dragon.

EDIT:

You would play Silver's Cry, not Silent Doom.

Instructions unclear, but what I'm reading is:

Drancia and Broadbull over Dante and ABC
Silver's Cry, Dimenstional Barrier, and Solemn Strike in Side Deck over what?

I was thinking Starlight Road and Stardust Dragon over Vanity and Crystal Wing...

No. Maindeck 3rd D Barrier over the Vanity's.

Keep the Crystal Wing. Get rid of the Stardust Spark Dragon.

Don't use Starlight Road or Stardust Dragon.

As for what to swap in for the second Maxx C... you could go with a second Effect Veiler.

I personally don't recommend Silver's Cry.

As for the side deck, get rid of the Magical Springs, and put in an extra Denko Sekka. I don't know what else to put in there.

EDIT: Side deck some Artifact Lancia for the Infernoid matchup

So, my decklist is the same as the link, only difference is:

2nd Effect Veiler over 2nd Maxx "C"

3rd Dimension Barrier over Vanity

Zodiac Beast Drancia (aka Zoodiac Drident) over ABS-Dragon Buster

Zodiac Beast Bullhorn (aka Zoodiac Broadbull) over Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss

Artifact Lancea over Magical Springs

3rd Denko Sekka over Magical Springs

Ancient Rules over Magical Springs

Can someone explain when the side deck cards should be swapped in?  I've never really used a side deck, mainly because I never knew how to use anything other than what was in my deck. lol

After the first duel in a match, take exactly the same number of cards from your main deck as the cards you want to use against your opponent in your side deck and switch them. This happens after each duel in the match but you can't change before or during

lol, no, I know what a side deck is and how they work, I need to know when to use the cards in my side deck, because I am an idiot.

That's where experience and practice come in, I would say.

The cards you swap around really depend of the deck you are fighting. For instance, I could tell you to put your Magical Springs and 3rd Twin Twister in the deck against backrow-heavy decks, but if for instance they are running Zoodiacs + backrow, then you may have, or prefer, to combine backrow removal + Gameciel and/or Cherries.

There are few "rules of thumb" for taking side decking choices between games. Of course, the most obvious is to pack as much "hate-cards" towards that deck in games 2 and 3, but you still have to be careful on that since drawing into too many of those cards instead of your play-making ones can be an issue, too.

As a guideline, I guess you can put in Cherries, Gameciel and D.D. Crow vs. Zoodiacs, and Gameciel, Lancea and D.D Crow vs. Infernoids. IDK which rogue decks could be out there, so you will have to make your calls against them. The deck builder put Catsith in the side, too but not quite sure against what deck it is intended to be played against. You could give it a try vs. those 2 decks too, since destroying Drident and threatening a lock Infernoid should come in handy.

Should I swap out 1 Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon for Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier?  I was thinking this because I already own Gungnir and I don't own any Spirit Dragons yet, and in my test games on YGOpro, I've never summoned Spirit Dragon more than once yet so I don't think I need 2.

How would you Summon Gungnir anyway? You got no WATERs in the main Deck nor means to Synchro Summon a Level7, and Spirit Eyes can only Summon LIGHT Dragons with its effect.

Good point, I overlooked that.  Darn it.  Guess this $6 card is useless to me.  -.-

You should probably a Future Fusion and Dragon's Mirrors Combo move with Blue-eyes and along with cards that can revive them.

Exp:

Future Fusion + Dragon's Mirrors: This move is real simple all you is 1 F.Fusion and 2 Mirrors for this combo to work. First play Future to pay the cost and if you opponent try to destory its on your or his/her turn just let them do it and then you come out mirrors form you hand.

Here our some the cards that geart with combo:

Blue-eyes U. Dragon ( Great with Blue-Eyes Shinning Dragon or Dragon Master)

Neo Blue-Eyes U. Dragon

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon

First of Dragons

Five Head Dragon (need 2 more dragon in the graveyard)
