Linking PornHub

Okay I know linking porn is a bannable offense, lol thar but what if its not? What if there is (and there is) a vid that has nothing to do with sex. Has nothing sexual or anything you wouldn't show your kids. But the vid is on PornHub. Could I still link it?

No, you may not.

Because linking to a porn site, even if the video in question is not pornographic, is still directing others to that site via our site.

Also, it's not even guaranteed that a mod will FOLLOW your link to confirm whether what you posted is pornographic. If we see the link goes to a known porn site, we'd probably just ban you on the spot. (And yes, this "procedure" is how we got fooled by a Rickroll masquerading as a porn link).

That is exactly why I asked. I felt like that would have been a thing, so I held off and started this topic. Lol.

There shouldn't be a reason to edit your hyperlink to look like it links to pornhub either.  How funking hard is it?  Don't funking link to pornhub.  Not jokingly.  Not accidentally.  Not at all.  Don't funking do it.  Period.

@DAD

Depends if you agree that this needs to be a kid friendly forums when most of our population is of the legal age

The only thing I agree with is that linking to pornhub is against the rules.  Don't do it.  Don't alter your hyperlinks to pretend to do it.  This is not a complicated matter.  This is arguing semantics.  Don't do it.

I dunno about anyone else, but I for one, don't feel like verifying whether something that seems blatantly pornographic is, in fact, pornographic. I don't have that much brain bleach.

On a humorous tangent, reminds me sort of like those "crooked cop" type situations. They find a perp with what seems to be an illegal drug, and there's always that one overzealous guy who's like "Wait, let me make sure this is REALLY Drug X". Because it totally is, but he needs to experience it to make absolutely sure.

I would be rather concerned if the mods see a sketchy link and are like "Wait, wait...let's make SURE this is actually porn...give me ten minutes alone with the link".

Has nothing to do with being "kid friendly" or "legal age". (Although since you said "most", this strongly indicates that some of the users are NOT, which is immediately justification for ensuring its ban).

I can't think of any forum that allows their user base to post porn publicly. It's invariably against the rules of every forum I've ever seen, but I haven't been to any of the really sketchy forums that exist. If it's a question of legal age, you can find your own porn. Hell, I'm sure even if you're not legal age, you can find it. Doesn't matter, it's not allowed to be distributed or linked to on this forum.

This ain't DGZ and it won't be.  Let me rephrase.  If you link to pornhub, or you alter your hyperlinks to pretend to link to pornhub, I will punish you.  I'm not going to verify the link.  I'm not going to go through a bunch of extra hoops just because you thought this was no big deal.  I will punish you.

Reddit does on their NSFW subreddits.

ON AN UNRELATED NOTE, how about a reputable site that links to pornhub's url?

Say, CNN does an article on it. Is that okay?

I do agree that porn has absolutely no place on this forum though.

It's one of those weird things. 100% of us have 100% seen porn (especially evilfusion) but post it here and it's a 100% permaban.

I assure you there's no end of forums devoted to porn and ignorance isn't an argument.

CNN's far more profane than PornHub.

This is a children's website.  Just proposing this is a daft idea.  Anyone with a brain can figure that out.

Most of the active userbase are adults and the rest are adolescents. If you're arguing that this is a children's website as an adult you really haven't a leg to stand on.

It's not an argument. It's just a statement of fact. That it's against the rules of all forums he's seen. And it's against the rules here.

Then it's completely irrelevant. His worldview isn't the only one. And yes, I'm well aware.
