Ah yes, I remember this being another highly desired card only available as a prize promo.

...Holy sheet, it's more incredible than I remembered. Probably because I didn't care much about it originally.

It's a generic Rank 4, detach 1, mill 3, draw cards equal to LS milled. That's really good. And if it dies, mill 3, and nuke cards up to the number of LS milled. And it's an LS itself. Yeah. Um...

And LS is getting more support. Good timing, I guess?

Thank goodness we'll be getting this thing quicker than a lot of promos. It is in high demand anyway compared to the rest of the irrelevant prize cards.

Lightsworns are definitely top contenders of this format and onward...they're just hidden because of lack of access to Minerva. My friend went undefeated for 6 rounds with Minervasworns in fact, and surprisingly a lot of people didn't know what she did. But it's still good we get her in advance for the the Twilightsworns far ahead, while also giving Lightsworns and Infernoids and other decks boosts.

LS are not going to be a best deck or top contenders or whatever lol

Unless there some ZOMG WHAT card in COTD we haven't seen, deck is still bad, and Links don't "slow the game" enough to help.

Hang on, isn't Lightsworn Shiranui low meta rn?

Cause a new no-commitment dragon that fucks up grave set up and resets the old no commitment dragon, a recurring book of moon, and a free mill 20 have no chance of being a top contender. Punishment and Lumina are all the deck needs to be decent in a post Zoo world

not quite, the only reason its being considered as "meta" is due to Lawnmowing and the expectation of facing mirrors; in that case its still not quite the best choice as lawnmowing becomes a constant in that matchup so you end up comparing how the decks play without lawnmowing. Which is why paleos are considered better than ur average normal summon lawnmowing deck (shiranui and ls)

Worth noting this won't be the case when MACR drops as Master Peace trumps normal summon decks and paleos lmfaooo (possibly after CODT too)

Daily reminder

Summoning condition > effects

Boss monsters with better summoning conditions can do much better than boss monsters with worse summoning conditions despite effect strength

Drident compared to Judgment Dragon is proof of concept enough of this methinks, though being Quick is of course important CONFOUNDING VARIABLE

Yeah, Draident is banned in one format and might get banned in the other soon too. Who knows what the banlist will do to zoos by the time TCG gets punishment. For now, the debate will have to be, do LS stand a chance OCG side, and I'd wager yes

That's not the point :V

Hurry up and get it before I call you mean things like "BGMeme clone"

The point is that Judgment/Punishment Dragon's effects, while potent, don't matter nearly as much as their summoning conditions which put them at major disadvantage compared to decks that have bosses that can be incorporated into their engines and summoned much more easily

If Lightsworn are relevant, and I'm not ruling out the possibility, it will more likely be due to Snow White, as Kaiji has noted, rather than any clunky Main Deck Boss Dragons.

(Twilightsworn Wulf prob decent potential to give deck turnaround too)
