Darj Posted April 13, 2017 Report Share Posted April 13, 2017 Damn, at first I thought Servant Odd-Eyes could make a search engine of sorts along Servant Darkvrm, but then I double checked and remembered that Darkvrm only grab the Gates; was a bit disappointed there. Still, being able to Tribute Darkvrm for its effects is handy. Anyway, too bad that their "Special Summon 2 Servants from Extra Deck" effects will be hindered post-Links. Anyway, too bad that their "Special Summon 2 Servants from Extra Deck" effects will be hindered post-Links.given this card and a darkwyrm summon you complete both gates for a fusion card as well as as control no monsters to pend summon using the 13 scale. Darkwyrm adds 13 scale, odd eyes servant pops darkwyrm and itself for 0 scale. Logistically you stuck with just pend summoning odd eyes servant from extra before you are able to link summon (scale 13 restriction). This means you gotta give up odd eyes servant for a link summon if you intend to make ignister RIP. also MIGHT be worse than sky iris in clearing scales for setting up the gate effects even tho you use Iris to search Servant, BUT sky iris allows you to play a single copy of each scale if you play Odd Eyes Servant for the 0 scales. Havent thought of using Darkwyrm's pendulum effect to grab either gate in combination with Sky iris but likely garbo thanks to 13 scale scale restriction and link rulez. The Link rules may hold the archetype back, but I have my hopes on Servant Venom Dragon + Independent Nightingale (Instant Fusion, searchable by Gate Zero) semi-OTK becoming more consistent, so this Odd-Eyes is good news for me. ~~~~ Posted April 13, 2017 Report Share Posted April 13, 2017 Yesterday I built an Independent Starving Servant FTK deck on Dueling Nexus, since they have the new cards, but not the new rules. It's very easy to get 4 DARK Pendulums on board and IF in hand first turn, leading to an obscene amount of FTKs. I think I'll make a thread for the deck to show it off and see what people think. Darj Posted April 13, 2017 Report Share Posted April 13, 2017 I tried such build too with Zarc Magicians + Darkvrm engine of sorts, and sometimes I had lucky hands for double Venom Servant + IF and OTK, but it it unwieldy and I'm no expert on Zarc Magicians so I couldn't find how to improve it. It would still lose to actual Apoqliphort Towers, since the effect activates and Towers is unaffected by activated effects of monsters with a lower Level/Rank, and other bosses like, let's say, a Master Peace unaffected by monster effects, while S39 Utopia can still handle them, but it indeed can deal with other Towers-like threats like Chaos MAX Dragon. EDIT:I take that back for now, since I actually don't know. Not sure if Servant Rebellion would still gain the ATK even if the opposing monster is unaffected by its effect.
