Hello everyone, I'm pretty fresh off the boat to the YGO card maker community, and I would like to try it. I don't know much of the ins and outs here, but I'll do my best to be on topic and stay on certain subjects. I am interested in seeing all created cards and such, the new summoning mechanic got me interested and curious if there were anyone who has a mechanic of their own. In honesty I have my own mechanic and archetype but I don't want to step on anyone's toes if it's an idea already come through. Well hope we all can be friends.

Welcome to YCM. I'm  Winter, and unless you venture into Debates in the future, you likely won't see that much of me =w=;

 

 

 

Before you go any further, make sure you've read up on the site rules, as well as the section rules for any sections you'll likely be frequenting. It's common sense stuff, but do it anyway because it makes you look good and also because there might be some revisions in the near future. Maybe. I dunno; I'm an Debater not a mod.

 

 

 

If you end up with any questions about things, Sakura would be good to ask, at least as far as custom card stuff goes. Different members are good at things pertaining to different sections, so check who's running around in your section of choice and fire a question their way if you need help. That should about wrap up my introduction, so be good, don't make an ass of yourself, and above all else, have fun! After all, you're here forever now. Might as well get comfy ^_~

A little more detail on the separations of the Custom Card sections. Casual Card Design is for things designed without the metagame in mind. Advanced is for when you're trying to create things that can stand toe-to-toe with what's reigning.

 

Under Casual, there's a few subsections. Experimental is for novel card types and mechanics that have not been officially printed. Joke/Overpowered is as it says: for cards blatantly overpowered or created for teh lulz.

 

The cardmaker site might be a little wonky, as its imgur uploading has been broken for a while. You might want to browse more of the forum for Photoshop templates. If you have your own image-hosting account, use that when you want to post your card up. If you don't have an image for the card you're looking for, it's fine. We'll still accept cards posted in written format.

If you need help for anything, ask Sakura : he's certainly the most helpful/serious guy in here.

If you need a Link template, here's Sakura's. It's certainly not as nice as Grezar's but it's still good.

If you need an avatar, check out my gallery of free to use avatars : it's the best you can find :B

If you need custom images for your cards, or renders, or tags, or anything else related to gfx : Creative Commons is your friend (see Graphic Shops & Graphic Requests [even if nobody fulfills request in the latter])

Like the above users mentioned, just behave yourself and you should be fine. A note that our general site rules have been updated recently, so please go ahead and take a look.

 

Gadjiltron already did my job at explaining the differences between Casual and Advanced; it's very important that you understand this because Advanced is indeed catered to more competitive design.
