Numbers 89 Dennoujuu Diablosis / Number 89: Computerbeast Diablosis

Dark Psychic / Xyz / Effect

RK 7 2800/1200

2 Level 7 monsters

You can only use this card name's (3) effect once per turn. (1) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; look at your opponent's Extra Deck, and banish 1 card from there, face-down. (2) At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card destroyed a monster by battle: You can target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish it, face-down. (3) If an opponent's card is banished face-down: You can activate this effect; banish cards from the top of your opponent's Deck face-down equal to the number of their currently banished cards that are face-down.

Well, if we had something competent that could still make Rank 7s this would be a cool card, but as it stands, Level 7 is still being left in the dust for the most part. I like what it has going on, the first effect can be useful for anything that can make this guy in very special cases, but otherwise, there's not much to it. Good ATK I suppose. I like how it's a computer-based card, but because Cyverse wasn't introduced, its a Psychic, isn't that fun.

in a vacuum it's okay. Being able to look at your opponent's ED and banish something can be very good, if only because it lets you see what your opponent is playing. But, as mentioned, it punishes cards like Desires a LOT, and that has the potential to be a pretty devastating hit in a duel.

Stats are good, but unfortunately it's just very, very niche.

>banish face down

Why was my first thought the vanish delete mechanic from Vanguard?

That's evil, though I would think your opponent wouldn't want to use Desires whilst this is out.

Summon it after they use Desires, and banish one from their extra deck, which triggers its effect, banishing at least 11 cards from your opponent's deck face down.

OK, what about this in... PSY-Frame? Before you shoot me down, hear me out.

The main problem is making it. However, overlaying two Zetas isn't nearly as bad as it might seem. Also, PSY-Frame don't exactly struggle for extra deck space, so you can fit it in somewhere. The main advantage of this is that it grants you an extra wincon: deckout via this card's (3) effect. Overload can trigger this every single turn, which will start adding even up even without them using Pot of Desires; a Desires would mean a quick GG. It's also a Psychic to revive with Overmind Archfiend, and its important (3) effect will still be live. Finally, since it punishes Desires so much, if you make this game 1, and especially if you win because of it, your opponent is likely to side out Desires. This massively helps you in the resource game for duels 2 and 3.

Eh? There has been plenty that do stuff turn one.

I'm just gonna cover the generic 2-mats.

Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger: You have a dude with piercing. Awful turn 1.

Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack: You have a slightly difficult to break field. That's it. Not a good turn 1 play.

Number 11: Big Eye: Literally does nothing.

Number 28: Titanic Moth: Once again, does nothing.

Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk: This one gets a pass, as it allows you to set up fields with links that actually are good turn 1. Even so, it kinda dodges the point.

Number 74: Master of Blades: Cool, you have a dude that is difficult to target. Let's see how much utility that gives you.

Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon: Don't get me wrong, I adore this card, but it is just about as easy to out as Dracossack, and while the burn it accomplishes isn't insignificant. it isn't going to be what you want to do turn 1.

And here I am still waiting for a generic 2-material Rank7 with some sort of quick-effect disruption or lock effect.

Would be funny to arrange a deck that gives the opponent 2 Pot of Desires so they confidently use them, only to drop this out of nowhere and deck them out xD

Ok, maybe I was overexerting how many there are, but still, you have two here that do stuff turn one, not sure how this card is a better option turn one, since you don't even know what your opponent is playing yet, so you are going to pull something out on the off-chance they have something you really want to get rid of? I would rather have a Master of Blades or Flare Metal Dragon if I had to do something turn one, I don't know why I would want to make this yet.

I understand that it would be a little weird, since Numbers are supposed to be Zexal Era, but this should absolutely be Cyberse.

I agree with that. The Type was introduced for this kind of themes, computer and virtual stuff, after all.

Didn't Wyrm get introduced during the pendulum era?  Yet we have a wyrm type number on our hands.  This should DEFINITELY have been Cyberse type.)

True, though this is probably from the manga (I don't recall it in the anime), which I believe is still going in the Arc era, so they probably made it after that. This card is probably before Cyverse was revealed, but after Wyrms.

A large portion are from nothing, and are made because "holy sheet we didn't think through the idea of making an archetype with >100 members"
