Mike

"Ah, sorry, I was a bit lost in thought. Have you been holding up alright lately?" Asuka asked.

Mike looked at her for a moment before collapsing against the wall and letting out a sigh. "Not good," he said.

"That makes two of us, to be perfectly honest," Asuka hoarsely responded, leaning herself against the opposite wall. "It seems like there's been nothing but worse and worse news for the last week or so, hasn't it?"

"Maybe it'd feel better if we could actually do something about it," Mike said. "Every time it just feels like we're either not strong enough, not allowed, or just nothing ever works." As he said that, his hand tightened around his cell phone.

"That is true, but we've only been attending U.A. for a month or two. It would be nice to be able to do something about these awful things that are happening, but..." Asuka paused briefly, as a yawn escaped her mouth. "Sorry. But we can't compare ourselves to pros so soon."

Mike yawned as well. "I just hope it's more than 'a month or two', at least for me."

"Eh?"

"Oh my-- I got into a fight with my parents after the whole... stadium thing. They didn't like how dangerous things got, and my mom was talking about pulling me back home." Mike sunk down against the wall somewhat. "I'm trying to convince them otherwise, but they've yet to give permission for me to stay here."

"I hope they let you stay. You're one of the stronger students in our class, so it would be a shame to see you go. At the same time, I can understand they're concerned, and in a weird way it's nice to hear it's to that extent."

"I guess. I just... I don't think I could leave everyone after all this. I don't want to go home and rely on news hoping everyone's fine. Even if I haven't been able to do much... I still want to do something." He paused for a moment and swallowed. "It's also the friends I've made here, like Terro, or Aaron, or... you... I don't want to just leave."

Asuka nodded. What even was the right thing to say to that kind of thing? Maybe something like... "I don't know if it helps, but you did win the tournament. You even beat Tomoaki, so you can definitely take care of yourself if things get dangerous again. With that logic though, I'm surprised I'm still attending."

"Well, for what it matters, I'm glad you get to. I just hope I do too."

"Me too."

A light blush escaped to Mike's cheeks and he hastily pushed himself back to his feet. "A-anyways, I heard talk of some of the guys wanting to do a dorm party. I'm not doing anything otherwise so I thought I might check it up. I'll see ya later!" With a subtle haste Mike turned on his heels and ventured back down the hall towards the dorm, now hoping more than ever that he could get to stay there for school.

"How long ye figure til the others are-NO!"

Fix jumped back from the sudden screech, noticing the air between the two had become thick with a cloud of some sort of gas.  He was struggling to hold up the gauntlets, but he wasn't making a move to swipe it away, instead Hadley doing it for him.

"I, I, I, I'm s-s-s-sorry! I d-d-didn't mean ta... Fix, I'm s-s-s-s-sorry, I didn't WANT it ta' h-happen!"

Fix just shrugged.  He motioned towards his hockey mask, whilst staring back at her awkward display of a desperate apology.

"It doubles as a g-g-g-gas mask too."  He stuttered.  "No worries here."

"Wendigo... When... When tha funk is this gonna end? I'm bloody SICK of it!"

"You've got issues kid..."  Wendigo said with a bit of a laugh underlying his words, "Not the 'eat your own parents' kind of issues, but issues nonetheless."  Wendigo leaned a shoulder against one of the buildings in the alleyway, only to shrug and sigh.  "You gotta put up with it until Boss Man says so.  Until all quirks are gone, that's when we can rest easy.  I don't think I'll be rid of mine for a long time...but yours'll be gone in no time."  In the meantime, Fix just looked back and fourth towards the two.

"I l-l-like quirks."  Fix said, sheepishly.  "I just wanted to f-f-f-fix things."  Wendigo looked towards the boy with a sharp glance, prompting him to almost drop Hadley's gauntlets out of fright.  "R-r-right then.  I'll be on my way now."  Fix started off back into the alley, tensing up as he passed Wendigo.

"So what're you gonna do?"  Wendigo asked the girl.

"So, what do you guys like? I mostly do bake goods and some sweets, but limit to one dessert, please."

Ino could barely keep her excitement contained at the mention of baked goods.

"CHEESECAKE!!!!!!!!!!!"  She squealed into the air, vibrating the whole classroom as she did so.

Later That Day

The preparations had been set, and the dorm's living area had been turned into a scene filled with streamers and balloons.  Ino was wearing a coned party hat strapped around her face.  She jostled up and down, a cut off t-shirt that exposed her mid-section, and baggy sweatpants.  Proper attire for the occasion, of course.  Seeing all her friends together though is what really brought a smile to her face.  They were gonna party hard, like there was no tomorrow!  Like there wasn't a big city filled with villains in another part of the country!  This was their time, now.  No use thinking about stuff that was only going to bring her down.

There was an outdated radio being used as a set of speakers, connected to her H-Pod, and was playing some of her favorite music.  She would be the first to admit it, but she loved cheesy old American songs!  They were perfect to dance to, or to just play in the background.  Of course she was the first person there, so she waited for the others to filter in, as she sipped on some soda in a can through a straw.

When Akira had told them their meeting location, his mind scrambled for a bit, but there wasn't any other spot he could think of for this kind of training.  He had taken the bus to the nearest stop, but they weren't going any further than that.  Instead, he had to walk the rest of the way.  He was in his gym uniform, stretching his arms as he started jogging at a decent pace.  He hadn't noticed, but he had gotten into a pretty decent physical condition since starting school.  He had been rather lazy, before being accepted into U.A., but run ins with those villains was proving to him that he couldn't get by just with his Quirk alone.  He knew he was starting to get close to the meeting location, once his shoes started to kick up some dirt and rubble.  The view of a shattered horizon greeted him.

This was Kashyyyk.

The news had said that the radiation had dropped to an all time low, almost 0%, since they attack on the U.A. Sports Festival...it didn't bode well whatever that meant.  However, it wouldn't matter if there was radiation for him...he'd just absorb it through Wavelength...it might have lead to an unfair advantage with this training though.  As Gin entered the broken city, he looked around.  That kid would stick out like a sore thumb in this place.  He had to hand it to Akira...this place wouldn't be on anyone's radar, authorities or otherwise, until cleanup commenced.  He would wait on that same street that their team had encountered the villains for the first time, until Akira showed up.  Once he did, he'd crack a twisted grin.

"So...why this place?"  He asked.  "It mean somethin' to you?"  He placed his hands together, clasping them firmly, while sticking the pointer fingers out.  "You don't have to tell me now."  He said, with a rather arrogant tone.  "You can tell me once I pick you off of the pavement."

Class 1-B: Sayaka, ???, Kaito, ???

iplp3Um.pngl43pO1F.pngoWQytNV.jpgZx9hs1Y.jpg

Earlier That Day...

"Well, that's all I got to learn ya for today!  Stay sharp out there, you chum buckets!  And don't let anyone else call you a chum bucket!  I only do it, cause I like you guys!"

"You got it! Have a nice day~!"

"You're awful chipper today." Behind a pair of black sunglasses, an otherwise-ordinary looking girl looked at the seat in front of her, raising an eyebrow at the spider girl. With a clear tone that she already knew the answer, she asked as if on a children's show, "I wonder why that could be? Feeling better after oogling at Mako, perhaps?"

"Hmph. I wouldn't expect you to understand those kinds of feelings."

"That a fact?" The girl reached up to remove her sunglasses, but stopped. What was the point of bickering with Sayaka of all people? She probably thrived off it. Nodding toward the far corner of the room - where Valerie sat alone by choice - she said "I'm heading to the dorms early. Keep her in one place for a bit, would you?"

"Pardon the intrusion. I'm looking for Valerie Clark."

"...change of plans. Let the 1-A girl handle it." She was in the tournament, right? Something-or-other Kurosawa. She forgot the girl's name, but she remembered the family name perfectly well. As well as how one-sidedly Valerie had beaten her out of the first round. Boy was that something. With that, the girl got up to her feet, and slipped out of the classroom behind Valerie, turning away from the two as they talked about something. She had one stop in particular. The dorm building. It had been a secret, but she was planning something, and today was just a matter of putting everything in place. Should only take a few minutes. As long as nobody else is rushing for the dorms, I'll have this done before the other students show up.

iU8EggM.png

Right Now...

"...which brings me to that guy," she said, pointing toward Terro. The shirtless boy sat in the corner of the room, arms tied behind his back with a minimal-looking amount of rope. "He's a good fighter and nice kid, but I'm not sure how the rest of you handle him all day. You've got my respect. That said, welcome to the surprise party. I'm Aiko Ozaki, from 1-B." Gesturing toward the eight-legged girl and blue-haired boy beside her, she continued "That's Sayaka Hashimo--"

"HaCHImoto!"

"Big deal. That's Sayaka, and Kaito Takanashi. And over here we have..."

"Kaori Yamada, from Class 1-B. It's a pleasure to meet you all!" The longer-haired girl stepped forward, and gave a bow to the 1-A students, who had just arrived (except for Terro). She then continued "I'm terribly sorry that I wasn't able to help during the Star Killer City incident, but I was out of town until just the other day. I hope to get along well with all of you now that we're all living under the same roof."

"Which is the point of this party. You 1-A guys probably know each other well, and I know we know each other here in 1-B, but I don't think our classes have interacted much. Except Val, maybe. So have fun, eat some snacks, drink some punch or soda, mingle. I'm not actually good at this party stuff, but figured both our classes could do with a breather. At least I tried." With that, Aiko - after adjusting the sunglasses on her face a bit - turned, and started untying Terro from his rope prison. "The fun's starting, so you've served your sentence. Next time, just let me do the prep work myself when I say I've got this."

With Terro free - and music set up courtesy of one of 1-A's girls - Aiko was ready to get to meeting all these 1-A students. She looked over the lot of them, before stopping at Mike in particular. He was the guy that won the tournament. Which effectively made him 1-A's ace, right? Getting to know him was probably a good idea. And so - after grabbing her own can of orange soda - Aiko made for the foreign kid. While the other students were doing whatever it is they were up to, she was opening up the can and sitting at the chair nearest him. "You're the kid that won the tournament, right? That's a neat Quirk you've got."

Meanwhile...

"Ga-ha! You again!" Skittering along toward Ichiro, Sayaka smiled ear to ear, feeling over the arm that had been broken last she saw him. "Feeling any better lately? I heard Lord D. visited your class! Isn't that amazing!?"

[spoiler=OOC]Party time! I've introduced Aiko and Kaori this post, but Aiko seems busy talking with Mike at the moment. Anyone looking to interact with Kaito or Kaori should feel free to do so!

"Don't worry, I think I left my paper at home too."

Well, Ichiro didn't feel as bad as he did earlier, since Isami admitted this as well. Though, the students were still chit-chatting about what type of food and drinks to have in the party they were planning. He honestly didn't care at this point what was on the menu for food. Pretty much ever since discovering his Quirk and him and Rei striking it out on their own, his brother tended to make sure his meals were stuff that would benefit him and his strength and work out regimen.

Hell, when training for the tournament, Omega Star even suggested he keep doing what he was doing in regards to his training regimen, with small adjustments here and there.

iU8EggM.png

The time seemed to go by and the party was in full swing, least it was trying to be anyway. Ino's playlist of music she put on was doing the best it could, but even in spite of that, Ichiro saw that it was doing its job. Then again...he nor anyone else was expecting 1-B to enter the party...with oddly enough a shirtless Terro tied to a chair.

J-Jeez Terro...what is it with you and you always having your shirt off? Ichiro thought, facepalming slightly at the sight of him tied to a chair. What baffled him even more, was HOW the hell did they detain him?!

"...which brings me to that guy. He's a good fighter and nice kid, but I'm not sure how the rest of you handle him all day. You've got my respect. That said, welcome to the surprise party. I'm Aiko Ozaki, from 1-B."

Ichiro saw them introduce themselves: Aiko, Sayaka, Kaito, and Kaori, with three others following up behind. They all seemed alright from his view point, and he namely only knew Sayaka and Kaito and that was only briefly. Though speaking of the spider-woman...

"Ga-ha! You again! Feeling any better lately? I heard Lord D. visited your class! Isn't that amazing!?"

"O-Oh, hey Sayaka." Ichiro chuckled nervously, practically having his arm being felt over by Sayaka. "Y-Yeah. I had gotten to Nurse Neko after my battle against Mike and had that healing process start. So yeah, I'm back up to full strength...though...still a bit sore." he explained, before shaking his head slightly. "And Lord D. visiting, yeah...that was amazing...IF you call being outed out immediately for punching a dinosaur in the face and putting civilians in danger because of it, amazing. ...thanks by the way..." Ichiro grumbled, still a bit sore that he was wrangled into that plan of her's and immediately being thrown under the bus when she spoke to Suna.

Just in time! Shin, Casey, and Aina got in the moment everyone else was introducing themselves to 1-A. When Kaori finished her introduction, Casey immediately cleared his throat loud enough for others to hear.

"Excuse me, Kaori! But you forgot about us...as usual." Casey huffed, strolling up past the others, throwing up a few finger guns with a smirk. "Sup! I'm Casey Russell! And yes ladies, I am single!" Of course, this was met with only silence.

"Seriously Case? You go with that?" Aina rolled her eyes and smacked him upside the head. With a shake of her own head, she waved at the others. "Nice to meet you all! I'm Aina Hano. And the stiff over there is Shin Lee."

Shin only gave a slight nod, showing off how much of resting pissed face he had off. "Hello..."

Terro sighed to himself as he was untied from the chair. He had been losing his shirt a lot recently, and this time, it was actually stripped off of him. Sure, he spilled a lot of stuff on his shirt when he accidentally broke a lot of stuff trying to help set up, but he didn't think it warranted all this. Still, he kept a smile on his face as he was released. It wasn't a big deal in the end, after all.

He went back to his room real quick, changing out of his uniform and back to his regular clothes, his green gi, the very same one he wore to the finals. It was pretty much the only clothes he had, come to think of it. He should probably do something about that. He headed back out, seeing most people had arrived, but Isami and Gin were missing. Akira was to, but Terro never thought he'd come in the first place.

He headed over to the snack tables, looking for a plate and the food. He had piled some snacks on the plate, pausing to find the chopsticks. He couldn't find those... but he did find a bunch of odd looking pocky... looking like a stick with a bowl on the end. Still, he loved pocky. He picked one up, looking at it before opening his mouth and biting down on the food. A loud, metallic crunch echoed through the room, and Terro winced a bit.

He pulled the food out of his mouth, a large chunk of the bowl bitten away, Terro chewing on it and ultimately swallowing it. It tasted so bad! Still, he wasn't one to waste food. Still... He turned to see who was closest to him, that turning out to be Asuka.

"Hey, Asuka. Is there some sort of topping or dip you're supposed to put this pocky in? It tastes horrible...," He asked.

Mike

By now the party was in full swing. Though, despite the choice of music that Mike would not have all expected from someone like Ino, everyone was still just trickling in, grabbing drinks and snacks, and talking. The atmosphere was nice, though with such music playing and nobody yet to dance it did make things somewhat awkward. A few students Mike had not seen before had gotten up and introduced themselves, but it was in through one ear and out the other as Mike, in his tired state, sat in his chair with his drink almost completely zoned out.

"You're the kid that won the tournament, right? That's a neat Quirk you've got." Mike looked up, sipping from his own can of Mountain Dew, to see a girl, probably one of the 1-B students, taking a seat next to him. She, like Akira, was one of the "Sunglasses-indoors-during-the-evening" types, but at this point Mike had decided he was better off not pointing it out.

"Oh, yeah! That's me. And thanks, though I guess I find it to be a bit more of a pain at times than anything." Mike lowered the can from his face. "I'm Michael Rosenfeld, by the way. You can just call me Mike, though." He realized too late, however, that this was one of the girls that had introduced himself and he was stuck in the social situation where he should know their name and totally didn't.

There was a party today! A surprise from one of 1-B's students. While Asuka appreciated the sentiment, was now really the time for such a thing? Morale in 1-A was looking low, and she could only imagine 1-B was faring even worse, what with losing one of their students and all. Asuka took a seat near the edge of the party. As much as she wanted to just head to her dorm and try to get some rest after unpacking her things, she wouldn't want to leave this party after showing up, would she? She just needed a moment to sit down and get herself in the mindset was all.

Besides, Terro was heading this way, with a spoon in his mouth.

"Hey, Asuka. Is there some sort of topping or dip you're supposed to put this pocky in? It tastes horrible...,"

"No, that's just a spoon..." Wait. What? That couldn't have been right, could it? Was she hallucinating? No, that was certainly the real Terro, and in his hand was a bitten spoon... "EH!?" She suddenly got up to her feet, taking the spoon out of Terro's hand to inspect it closer. "How did you even DO that!? No, WHY!? You're not supposed to eat spoons, Kihkyu! Will you be alright? I..." Wherever Asuka was about to go with her sentence, she seemed to have lost track of it in sheer confusion at Terro's antics. Handing the spoon back to him, she simply sighed "Just let someone know if you're feeling sick, okay? You aren't supposed to eat these."

iplp3Um.png

"O-Oh, hey Sayaka.. Y-Yeah. I had gotten to Nurse Neko after my battle against Mike and had that healing process start. So yeah, I'm back up to full strength...though...still a bit sore. And Lord D. visiting, yeah...that was amazing...IF you call being outed out immediately for punching a dinosaur in the face and putting civilians in danger because of it, amazing. ...thanks by the way..."

"Even if it's just to be scolded, I'd love to get the chance to see him in person sometime!" He should have felt lucky to get to see a hero like Lord D. in the flesh! And addressing him no less! Sayaka could feel her heart welling up with joy simply because it was her idea that got him to address 1-A about punching dinosaurs. But that wasn't good enough! She had to see him herself someday! With only increased enthusiasm, the eight-legged girl continued on about Lord D, straightening her legs to bring herself nearly at face level with Ichiro. "He's the number-two hero for a reason, you know! And he's like a tourism magnet for Japan all on his own, since we know where he lives! Right on top of Mt. Fuji! I've tried hiking up there a few times before, but spiders are ambush predators, and I've always had pretty bad stamina myself, so I don't get that far up..."

Another idea was blossoming in her mind.

"Are you busy this weekend? I'm sure with your Quirk, you have to get lots of exercise, right?"

l43pO1F.png

"Oh, yeah! That's me. And thanks, though I guess I find it to be a bit more of a pain at times than anything. I'm Michael Rosenfeld, by the way. You can just call me Mike, though."

"Mike. Got it. Again, I'm Aiko Ozaki, Class 1-B." Aiko sat herself down next to Mike, and opened her can. A quick sip, followed by "It's a nice Quirk, but I think everyone has gripes with their Quirks." Pointing around the room to various students, she continued "Spiders are ambush predators, so Sayaka over there tires out easily and her legs get injured easily. The muscle kid from your class seemed to keep breaking his limbs during the tournament, so I'm sure it's the same case in a real fight. I can't even look at people properly when I'm talking to them, which is why I'm wearing these."

It probably wasn't worth using her Quirk just to make her point there. Aiko took a longer sip of her orange soda, before asking "What's so bad about that Quirk of yours, anyway?"

"No, that's just a spoon..." There was a pause as Asuka seemed to be thinking about something... what it was, Terro had no idea."EH!?" She suddenly got up to her feet, taking the spoon out of Terro's hand to inspect it closer, making Terro tilt his head. "How did you even DO that!? No, WHY!? You're not supposed to eat spoons, Kihkyu! Will you be alright? I..." Wh "Just let someone know if you're feeling sick, okay? You aren't supposed to eat these."

"A... spooooooon?" Terro blinked as he bent over, looking at the spoon. "What are you are supposed to do with this... spoooooon?" he asked, poking it some. "If it's not good to eat, then what do you with it? A back scratcher?" He asked as he reached down, grabbing a handful of chips and munching into it. "Wh-whoa... what are these?!" He asked once more, looking down at the chips. He took another handful and munched on them. "They're so crunchy and flavorful and... what are these?!" He looked at Asuka with wide eyes, hoping these beacon of wisdom would fill him in on what exactly was going on.

~Before the party~

“It’s lucky that the dorms came prepared for party food making, but do they need 5 muffin sheets? Oh well, the cake should be done by now.” Aaron spent the rest of the day in the dorm kitchen after making a shopping trip to get whatever the school didn’t have on site, like a tub of cream cheese. The dorm lobby smelt sweet and savory as the oven ran continuously for 3-ish hours as Aaron made a mess of the kitchen with flour, barbeque sauce, and cream cheese. Nevertheless, Aaron was able to make all that was requested for this small party of theirs as he proceeded to clean up and making signs that read, “DON’T TOUCH! FOR PARTY!” on all his dishes.

Back in his room, as he changed into some nicer formal/informal clothing, he logged into his email to see if the support group responded back to his costume change order. However, instead of seeing the email, his inbox was littered with anti-quirk propaganda and newsletters about Starkiller City. Even the US and other major nations were implementing new forms of ‘Quirk Training’ in schools in the past few days, trying to prevent situations that formed Starkiller City or things like it. Aaron wasn’t one for politics, but at least everyone is trying, to some extent.

~At the Party~

Aaron was in the kitchen as the music started to play, and they had some unusual taste in American music, but Aaron grew up with oldie music because of his folks. Looking back into the lobby, it seemed that others have brought their own snacks like off-brand potato chips and soda, however, that will be nothing compared to what Aaron was bringing out: Vanilla Brownies, first time attempted cheesecake that feeds 14 and some slightly warm yakitori, rice not included. As Aaron brought out his dishes, he saw that everyone, except Akira and Gin, were here, as well as some of 1-B, some of which he recognized being Aina, Shin, and that one guy that Val carried out during the attack. As he walked over to them, he redirected towards Ino and mentioned to her, “Hey Ino, I made the cheesecake you wanted. Let me know how it is, my first time making it,” then continued on his way towards 1-B.

“Hey Aina, Shin, and. . . ‘Case’ was it? Thanks for coming to our ‘what was supposed to be a small 1-A thing’ party, glad to see you here. Also, I’m sorry about Goto, I hope he is doing fine.”

Hadley slid down the wall of the alleyway, her rapid breathing slowing, slipping ever so slowly back towards calmness. The revelation of Fix's gas mask had done a lot to help with that; But even still, the thought kept coming to her: What if he hadn't had it?

She looked up at Wendigo, looking drained. "What am I gonna do? Damn... I don't feckin' kno, do I? Do any of us know?" She leveled her gaze on Wendigo's own, meeting his eyes directly like many of the people in Starkiller City were terrified to do. "We got this city, right? Feck does it matter? The heroes'll come through here like a bulldozer eventually, right? Hell are we gonna do then? All we got's a bunch of bastards... And one bloke who can take Quirks. Right?"

This last sentence carried great weight behind it. She leaned forward, paying close attention to Wendigo's response, waiting expectantly. She wanted to know, dammit. She wanted to know whatever he knew, whatever about the loss of Goto's Quirk that he had.

"Even if it's just to be scolded, I'd love to get the chance to see him in person sometime!"

"I...guess you've got a point there." Ichiro shrugged, as now Sayaka was rambling off plenty of different factoids and trivia about Lord D. To be completely honest, he was surprised that she knew all this stuff about a single hero. Definitely showed that she was a fan. He moved a bit to grab some snacks to munch on, though casually munching as not to be rude.

"Are you busy this weekend? I'm sure with your Quirk, you have to get lots of exercise, right?"

This question caught Ichiro off guard as he started choking a bit on the food, coughing some as he did his best to keep himself from practically dying there. He held up a hand for a moment, before clearing his throat. "A-A-Am I busy? T-This weekend...?" he asked, wondering if he heard that correctly from the spider-girl. ...was this girl basically asking him out?

N-No...don't think like that, Ichiro. ...but...then again, Rei would definitely say it is... he thought, before finally bringing himself back to the actual question at hand. "Um...I guess? I-I mean, I don't think there's anything going on this weekend. I still gotta talk to Terro about possibly training me with some martial arts...but if anything we can do that during the week after classes...but yeah...I-I don't think I have anything this weekend...unless it's homework........"

"YOU!!" Aina immediately said, pointing at Aaron, who walked towards the three amigos. She started waving her finger in front of Aaron, putting her hand on her hip as she frowned greatly. She was definitely in scolding mode now. "I can't BELIEVE you out right lied to those officers during the attack and said you were a hero! And THEN had the audacity to tell us about it! You are lucky that they got that all squared away! Otherwise you possibly could've been in a whole heap of trouble!"

"Aina...relax." Shin intervened, putting his hand on her shoulder. "He probably already got scolded by Lord D...as much as Sayaka mentioned that anyway. No need to beat the dead horse." He looked back at Aaron, shrugging. "Still, glad to see that you weren't in trouble too much after that fiasco. And as for Goto...he's well he's Goto. Not much else to say."

"'Course there ain't much to say!" Casey interjected. "Plenty of people end up hiding their emotions like rainbow spectrum over here." he chuckled, pointing his thumb in Shin's direction. "Still, either way, maybe he'll be around later. The guy can't really turn down an invitation to join a party. Val on the other hand...that's another story."

Isami came running through the party doors before doubling over to catch his breath, having obviously rushed to get here. He was late, having spent a bit of time deciding what he was going to wear and a lot of time getting lost or distracted on his way here. He wore a rather plain white shirt underneath a thin green hoodie, and a pair of black jeans to go with it. "Sorry... I'm... La..." He began saying, between heavy breaths as he turned to look up.

He was greeted by the sigh of Asuka holding a spoon with a bite mark in it.

Isami was caught off guard by this. Did Asuka just bite into a spoon? He didn't even know she could do that. He knew that she had been a little... off... recently, after the events at the stadium. He didn't realize it was this bad.

As he was about to say something, however, Terro spoke up, giving a lot more context as to what he had just witnessed. Isami let out a sigh of relief when he figured out that Asuka had not, in fact, bitten into a spoon, although he shook his head when he also realized this meant that Terro had bitten into the spoon. "That's... honestly, pretty cool." He said, looking at the spoon. It hadn't been a clean cut through it, obviously, but it was still impressive that he was able to bite through it anyways.

He turned to Terro, who now had a hand and mouthful of chips. "Those are potato chip!" Isami chimed in, walking towards the chips in question. "One of the greatest things ever invented." He said, picking up a chip and tossing it into his mouth.

Kashyyyk.

Akira sat in his wheelchair, staring up at a large concrete wall that had largely been bleached white by the heat of the blast that had swept through the area. Apparently, in explosions like this, the silhouettes of victims could be seen as areas that had not been burned as badly, but here… Here, the heat wave had been so powerful that it simply vaporized those in its path. This concrete wall only had one silhouette on it, all the lives lost simply forgotten by the landscape.

He looked down at the chair in which he sat, a constant reminder of his failure at Starkiller. Thanks to Nurse Neko's quirk, he had already recovered to the point of being able to stand, and physical therapy already had him walking fairly well, but he was urged to stay seated for the rest of the time, so as not to overexert himself. A sharp exhale through his nose marked his amusement. Does she really think she could keep me down? He had too much to do to rest now. He had spent all week developing his quirk, tightening his responses so they could work better in combat. If nothing else, his loss to Mike in the tournament was incredibly educational to him. By honing his mind, he would be able to adapt more quickly to different combat situations. With proper training, a quirk like his could make him into a one-man army.

Reaching down to the handles on the wheels, Akira turned himself away from the wall, rolling himself further toward the center of the destruction. He had figured it would be the easiest spot to explain to Gin. Akira made sure to avoid rubble as he moved through the ruined district. Considering the fact that each overturned sidewalk could have what was left of a person under it was truly all he could stomach. Despite how difficult it was to accept, the heroes suffered an absolute loss here. Even with heroes as powerful as Lord D. and Omega Star, nobody was near strong enough to enact lasting change. They needed someone to step, to say everything was okay, because they were there.

But no such symbol existed.

It wasn't long before he reached his opponent, who was waiting for him at ground zero. "So...why this place?" Gin asked. "It mean somethin' to you?" Akira watched as Gin brought both hands together into his signature gun position "You don't have to tell me now." He said, with a rather arrogant tone. "You can tell me once I pick you off of the pavement."

Akira's response was humorless, his sarcasm left at the edge of the field of destruction, “Sure. If you beat me, I'll explain.” It was almost as if the air itself surrounding Akira was glowing, as microscopic particles of hard light propagated across the area. “Seeing your father gave me a pretty good insight into how your quirk works. You absorb EM radiation to power your own abilities.” A pair of giant gears, each about two meters in diameter, appeared on either side of Akira, slowly turning as their teeth meshed together above his head, “my constructs give off a considerable amount of visible light, and probably even more in the infrared and ultraviolet spectrums. Even though I don't have any kind of “mana bar” to draw off of for my quirk, using it actively fuels your own.” Akira looked Gin directly in the eyes, his pupils clearly visible through the shaded lenses by the light they gave off. “It's important we acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses. Otherwise we just develop the wrong areas.”

“All this being said, it benefits me best to win this fight quickly, before you gain too much from my own quirk usage.” As he finished his sentence, the pair of gears separated from each other and hurtled toward Gin, their high speed of rotation creating a chopping sound like that of a helicopter. It was far from a killshot, as they were both aimed toward his center of mass, to test his reaction.

Ino bounced around as all of the students started to flood in.  Seeing all their faces in one place other than the classroom sure felt great, and they all seemed to be having a good time.  She didn't mingle for a bit, but rather stood in the back, giggling as she saw the antics that Terro was displaying.  The boy chewed through a dang spoon, and didn't know what chips were.  Had he never had anything like it before?  No wonder he was such a weirdo.

“Hey Ino, I made the cheesecake you wanted. Let me know how it is, my first time making it."

As quickly as he had made his way to her, he had vanished.  Ino waved back to him and smiled.

"Thank you for your hard work!  You're the best, Aaron!"  The pastry chef had started to mingle with the 1-B students, Ino recognizing most of them that had participated in the Sports Festival.  That calm, cool, and collected boy was really dreamy up close.  She started to quietly vibrate beside herself, as she made her way towards the cheesecake.  She picked up a fair slice for herself, and took a bite.  She instantly perked up, as the taste washed over her tongue.  Some strange noise had escaped from her in the time that it took for her to chew and swallow.  "Delicious..."  She mumbled in ecstasy.  Taking a look around the room, Ino recoiled in shock from seeing a spider-girl in the class.  It was almost enough for her to spit out this sweet treat, but she held fast!  Then, she spotted another girl talking to Mike.  She walked up towards the two, trying not to interject herself into the conversation rudely.  However, they were both talking about Quirks.

"Geez...why do you guys have to talk about that kinda stuff at a party?  Lighten up!  You guys should dance!"  Ino blushed slightly when she remembered Mike was sitting right there.  "Y-y-y-you don't have to dance with me specifically though!"

"And here I thought this party was going to be more lively!  I can't believe I even wasted time coming to what I thought was going to be an event to remember, but here I find people who don't know how to use spoons, and think they're too cool to party!  Laughable!  Laughable!  Hilariously laughable!"  Erika exclaimed as she walked towards the group of Mike, Ino, and Aiko.  "What even made you decide to come, Aiko?"  In the back of her mind, the words Gin and Akira blared up, but she didn't see either of them.  It was their loss, she supposed.

"What am I gonna do? Damn... I don't feckin' kno, do I? Do any of us know?"

"Well I'm probably gonna go eat, so speak for yourself shorty!"

"We got this city, right? Feck does it matter? The heroes'll come through here like a bulldozer eventually, right? Hell are we gonna do then? All we got's a bunch of bastards... And one bloke who can take Quirks. Right?"

Wendigo eyed the girl for a moment, before nodding.

"We were gonna play the long game...hide in the shadows for a lot longer, y'know."  Wendigo sighed.  He took a squatting position in the alleyway, rolled up some old newspapers into a beanbag like formation, and placed them next to him.  He patted the papers, offering them as a seat for Hadley.  "And then, Dr. Atomic showed up.  That guy ruined all of our plans...ruined everything."  Wendigo chuckled a bit, thinking back to Kashykkk.  "You could say it was our fault for putting Zuzu on the frontlines!  And that would be true, I guess!  GAHAHAHA!"  Wendigo scratched his head fervorously.  "But he hits hard!  He's like...the mage!  and I'm the tank!  GAHAHAHA!"  He settled down a bit.  "But yeah...the explosion happened at the wrong place, and at the wrong time.  We showed our hand too early."  His eyes looked up to the starry night sky.  "But the heroes can't just plow through here...we have civilians in the city...easy hostages.  Our numbers are growing, so they'll have their hands full...and you got me."  Wendigo sighed.  "I'll be here, shorty.  I'll fight them til my last breath!  SHEESH IT'S WHAT I DAMN SIGNED UP FOR!  GAHAHAHAH!"

He then looked to Hadley, sharply.

"You never met the boss, have you?  In person that is."  Of course she hadn't.  Boss man liked to keep to himself.  "It's not that he can take your Quirk...that's a little convoluted."  He chuckled.  "Nah...he just turns it off."  Wendigo's red eyes seemed to pierce through her.  "But he's kinda a nice guy...he could turn off a lot more than your Quirk if he wanted."

“Sure. If you beat me, I'll explain.”

Time for a beat down, then.

“Seeing your father gave me a pretty good insight into how your quirk works. You absorb EM radiation to power your own abilities.” The fight with his father was a sore spot.  After all, Gin only managed to win because Akira had pulled off some tricky maneuver that damaged his father enough to throw him into a rage, “my constructs give off a considerable amount of visible light, and probably even more in the infrared and ultraviolet spectrums. Even though I don't have any kind of “mana bar” to draw off of for my quirk, using it actively fuels your own.” Gin could see Akira's eyes beaming from behind his glasses.  Those things really pissed him off. “It's important we acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses. Otherwise we just develop the wrong areas.  All this being said, it benefits me best to win this fight quickly, before you gain too much from my own quirk usage.

Akira sent off two whirring gear constructs, aimed for his abdomen.  The two of them had never actually fought each other, but this was obviously a test to gauge him in some way.  Gin smirked, as his pointer fingers glowed an intense red.

"Red-Volver!  Double Tap!"  He shouted, as two shots of the intense red light flowed out from his finger tips in a pill like shape.  His aim was sharp, as it had to be, as the two attacks clashed in an explosion of gold and red light.  "Yeah...I've pretty much figured your weaknesses out."  Gin pointed to his head with his still glowing fingers.  "It's all up here, isn't it?  You have to think reaaaaal hard, or else those little toys you make aren't up to snuff."  Gin seared with a bit of anger.  "That's why you have to act all cool, huh?  Makes you think you can actually handle what you're going up against.  It really pisses me off."  The bright red light had shifted to an intense orange.  "It makes me want to notch it up a bit!"  Gin dashed to the side, holding both of his hands out in their gun like pose.  "AGENT ORANGE!  DOUBLE TAP!"  He shouted, as he shot two orange bullets at Akira.  "Your quirk might have weaknesses, but don't go assuming mine does!"

"A... spooooooon? What are you are supposed to do with this... spoooooon?"

"It's an eating utensil."

"Wh-whoa... what are these?! They're so crunchy and flavorful and... what are these?!"

Terro was all over the place today. Just how isolated was he growing up? It was like watching a child discover all sorts of new things at once. Asuka would almost call it cute, but when it was from someone of Terro's age, size, and physique, it lost some of the endearing charm to her. Asuka was about to explain what potato chips were to Terro, but just as she opened her mouth, Isami was there with the answers. Though she wasn't sure if she'd call them one of the greatest things ever invented. She was never big on salty snack foods. Give her sweets any time. Speaking of which, Asuka briefly dismissed herself from the group, spotting an array of tasty-looking sweets. She could have sworn she saw Ino grab some cheesecake not long ago.

It looked tempting.

Asuka took a piece herself, plus a bottle of water before returning to the boys and sitting down. She took a bite and... her entire face seemed to light up in that moment. Like that one spoonful had dragged her back from the verge of falling over right there and slipping into a deep sleep. Then something clicked in her mind. Holding the plate in Terro's general direction, Asuka pointed at the cheesecake with her spoon and said "Like this cheesecake. You use spoons for foods like this, or breakfast cereal, and then you use forks instead for stuff like meat."

"Geez...why do you guys have to talk about that kinda stuff at a party? Lighten up! You guys should dance!"

"Mmmm... admiration?" Aiko shook her head. "No, not that. I guess you could call me envious of his Quirk, but in a good way? Yeah. That's it. I'm not much of a dancer though."

"And here I thought this party was going to be more lively! I can't believe I even wasted time coming to what I thought was going to be an event to remember, but here I find people who don't know how to use spoons, and think they're too cool to party! Laughable! Laughable! Hilariously laughable!"

I'd recognize that anywhere.

"What even made you decide to come, Aiko?"

"Probably the fact that I've been planning and setting up for this in secret for the last few days. Surprise. I didn't think 1-A would have the same idea." She had to admit, it probably wasn't all that exciting to everyone else. But some of 1-A's students seemed to be having fun, and Aiko would be lying if she said she personally felt the thing was a total bust. It was something. Not quite what she wanted, but she'd take what she could get.

"A-A-Am I busy? T-This weekend...?"

"M-hm."

"Um...I guess? I-I mean, I don't think there's anything going on this weekend. I still gotta talk to Terro about possibly training me with some martial arts...but if anything we can do that during the week after classes...but yeah...I-I don't think I have anything this weekend...unless it's homework........"

"Perfect! See you then, Hercules~" With that, the eight-legged girl scurried away to the snacks, looking to get herself something to munch on.

Mike

"It's a nice Quirk, but I think everyone has gripes with their Quirks." Aiko said, pointing at the various students one after another. "Spiders are ambush predators, so Sayaka over there tires out easily and her legs get injured easily. The muscle kid from your class seemed to keep breaking his limbs during the tournament, so I'm sure it's the same case in a real fight. I can't even look at people properly when I'm talking to them, which is why I'm wearing these."

Aiko took a longer sip of her orange soda, before asking "What's so bad about that Quirk of yours, anyway?"

"Oh, well I don't know if you remember from the tournament, but it kinda lacks in the firepower department," Mike replied, holding out his hand and gently nudging just enough energy out to make it glow a faint green. "It's also tied to my physical energy as well. I dunno, I guess I wish it was more like Akira's, without a... metaphorical gas tank involved."

"Geez...why do you guys have to talk about that kinda stuff at a party? Lighten up! You guys should dance!" Ino blushed slightly when she remembered Mike was sitting right there. "Y-y-y-you don't have to dance with me specifically though!"

"E-eh?" Mike said.

"Mmmm... admiration?" Aiko shook her head.

"EH?" Mike said again.

"No, not that. I guess you could call me envious of his Quirk, but in a good way? Yeah. That's it. I'm not much of a dancer though."

Another student from 1B came over and started talking to Aiko, and Mike shook his head to get a better hold of himself. "Yeah, sorry Ino, I-I'm not much of a dancer either, y'know? I've never really... done much of that." At risk of killing the mood further, however, Mike hastily added, "Th-the music is good, though! And it looks like a lot of people are having fun! It's still a good party!"

"It's an eating utensil."

"What? How do you eat with this? There's no way it could pick things up," Terro rubbed his head, feeling really stupid at the moment. Asuka didn't answer him, heading away to get more food.

Even though he went to Asuka for the answer, Isami was the one that provided it. "Those are potato chip!" Isami chimed in, walking towards the chips in question. "One of the greatest things ever invented." He said, picking up a chip and tossing it into his mouth.

"It is really good," Terro added as he took another handful, chewing on them more. "What other kind of foods are here?"

"This cheesecake. You use spoons for foods like this, or breakfast cereal, and then you use forks instead for stuff like meat." Asuka explained. Terro looked over the food in question, eyeing it from multiple directions.

"I see... I see...," Terro stated, obviously not getting it. "How very interesting...," He stood up and sighed. "Man, there's a lot I'm going to have to learn about, huh? Being a hero that can't even eat like everyone else can't really be depended on, huh?" He perked up a bit as he overheard Ino being Ino over with Mike.

"Geez...why do you guys have to talk about that kinda stuff at a party?  Lighten up!  You guys should dance!"

Dance? What kind of dance could she mean? Was it a fight? He had a few people say the phrase "Let's dance!" before a fight. Still, that didn't seem right. He rubbed his chin before looking over at Asuka. Non-fight dances were done between a guy and a girl, right? That's how these things worked according to those weird books his grandfather would read from time to time. He never understood them himself, but here, he was glad to have some knowledge, no matter how small it was. Thankfully, there was a girl next to him to ask.

The offer of a fighter

Terro turned to Asuka, a large smile plastered on his face as he held out his hand to her. "So Asuka, would you like to dance?" He asked innocently, his smile only getting wider as he waited for her answer. "I gotta apologize ahead of time though. I'm not exactly the best dancer," He said as he scratched his cheek with his free hand.

"It is really good," Terro added as he took another handful, chewing on them more. "What other kind of foods are here?"

"There's fruits like apples! And pears! And, uh..." He thought about it for a sec, taking another pair of chips out the bowl. Asuka returned with some cheesecake. She then went on and explain basic culinary principles to Terro, before Ino came along.

"Geez...why do you guys have to talk about that kinda stuff at a party?  Lighten up!  You guys should dance!"

"Dance?" Isami said out loud, tilting his head. It was a party, but dancing was not something Isami had considered. He wasn't much of a dancer, having danced a grand total of two times in his life. Isami chuckled softly. "I guess I can try that. Never been much of a dancer though." He said, rubbing the back of his head. He scanned the room to see if anyone wanted to dance, before swiftly deciding that he'd wait for someone to ask him, or until it got awkward. Whichever came first.

He, however, didn't want to just stand there. Instead, he opted to head over to the punch table to get himself some punch. Maybe someone would ask him there.

"Perfect! See you then, Hercules~"

"Hercules...?" Ichiro muttered to himself, just standing there after Sayaka scurried away. After all that, he now had plans on Saturday to go running with Sayaka. ...did this even count as a first date or what? To be honest, Ichiro wasn't 100% sure nor was he that curious about it.

With a shrug and a sigh, the young man turned to grab himself something to munch on, while noticing what appeared to be Terro asking Asuka to dance. Or...that's what he was assuming given the fact that he was holding his hand out towards the young girl, almost waiting for her to reach out and take it. Terro and Asuka...now there was something Ichiro didn't even think about before...but it was a pair that could definitely be a compatible match.

I mean...Asuka has a crystal based Quirk...while Terro's is straight up earth based. So that does seem to work between the two of them in the long run... he thought, shrugging. Maybe he'd ask about it during his and Terro's training...which he still needed to ask about...damn...he needed to get around to that. However, now his eyes glanced over towards the punch table and saw Isami there. Ichiro hadn't really done any conversing with the snake boy...well...any conversing that wasn't along the lines of: "I'm going to punch at something with you around my arm and you basically show everyone else where to hit this invisible target".

...I still think that was one of my better moments of improvisation... he thought, before making his way over towards the punch table, waving slightly. "Hey Isami...how's it going?" ....hopefully the snake boy wouldn't think he was asking him to dance...cause that would be way weird...
