Ghastly Terror

This is a DARK Fiend-Type archetype of pure nightmare fuel, with disturbing artwork, names that push the limits of TCG naming, and unsettling effects. Similar to Reptilianne, they drop the stats of your opponent's monsters to 0, and they enjoy horrifyingly effective stun effects if a monster with 0 ATK and/or DEF is on the field. Not only that, they lock out all Summons besides the Summon of archetype members if there are 3 or more such monsters out. But wait, there's more: If your opponent does manage to somehow get out a Towers out, or has any monster you're seriously worried about, they have a 0/0 Lava Golem clone that lets you Tribute anyone's monsters. They do have one distinct weakness, however, that you wouldn't expect: If any of them is targeted for a card effect, they all commit suicide, a major setback considering that they can't be Summoned from the Graveyard.

Pay 800 Life Points; add 1 "Ghastly Terror" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Ghastly Terror Reinforcements" once per turn. If this card leaves the field: You can add 1 "Ghastly Terror" monster from your Graveyard to your hand.

Quick-Play Spell Card

Change all Fiend-Type monsters you control to face-down Defense Position, and if you do, "Ghastly Terror" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects this turn.

Quick-Play Spell Card

Activate while you control a face-up DARK monster. Change the ATK and DEF of 1 monster on the field to 0 until the End Phase. You can banish this card from your Graveyard (except the turn it was sent); Special Summon 1 of your banished Fiend-Type monsters.

Field Spell

Once per turn, during either player's turn, if your opponent would target a "Ghastly Terror" card you control: You can pay 800 Life Points; negate the effect, and if you do, banish the card.

Counter Trap Card

Activate if your opponent Special Summons a monster or activates a card effect that would Summon a monster. Negate the Summon or effect, and if you do, banish that card. You must control a face-up "Ghastly Terror" card to activate this card.

Continuous Trap Card

Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can change 1 Fiend-Type monster you control to face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position. If this card leaves the field: You can chamge the DEF of 1 monster your opponent controls to 0.

Ho-ho!

This deck seems to be very funny, and their mechanic can be very annoying, but, this deck can do A LOT of damage in one turn, and its seems to have a good otk capabilities; they can be pretty easy countered, examples:

defensive decks

xyz 4 decks

troll decks

however, the most of the decks have targeting effs, so you can make some boss monster that is hard to summon that negates that clause or make they cannot be targeted

Alrighty. I incorporated something like that in their new addition! Ghastly Terror - Infernal Chthon; it can change them face-down, thus not having them face-up should the destruction effect take place.

I like how they destroy themselves when targeted by card effects. Although it is meant as a handicap, it can actually open a lot more firepower for this deck. By simply adding Starlight Road, this deck can Summon a decent Synchro without even Synchro Summoning it. I suggest you add Spell/Traps that has similar effect to that card, it might add more consistency to the deck.

 

I also think Utopia Beyond can find a good use on this deck because of its field stat reduction ability. Also this deck can alleviate the risks of self destruction if you can use them for Extra Deck summoning in which I think they have a potential.

 

This is a pretty risky deck, but I like it.

What's stopping Burning Abyss from just taking your boss monster as a finisher? Should be archetype specific rather than just Fiend-type. Also I just came back to the website and posted my first set in a while. My released sets are up to date in my signature so please take a look. 

 

As for the set itself, it is fairly balanced as a consistent effect, but extremely fragile OTK deck. The card pool is quite large, thus making is kinda of hard make a strong deck. Overall I like it. That search spell card though is really good. Pay 800 scout is back  :biggrin:  :526075_key: . Nice work
