Pyrolatrous Priestess

FIRE

✪✪✪✪ (Level 4)

[Fairy/Effect]

ATK/ 1800 DEF/ 200

When this card is Summoned: Activate 1 of these effects.

  • Reveal 1 Ritual Monster in your hand; this card's name becomes that monster's name, and this card's effect becomes that monster's original effect.
  • Reveal 1 Ritual Spell Card, then send 1 Ritual Monster that can be Summoned by the revealed card from the Deck to the Graveyard; this card's name becomes that monster's name, and this card's effect becomes that monster's original effect.

Cards that synergize with this card include Amorphactor Pain, Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Demise, King of Armageddon, Evigishki Levianma, Evigishki Soul Ogre, Gishki Zielgigas, Herald of Perfection, Herald of Ultimateness, Lord of the Red, probably a bunch of Nekroz cards, Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon, Relinquished, Reshef the Dark Being, Saffira, Queen of Dragons, and Sauravis, Dragon Ascended.

The best thing you could do with this card is use Pre Prep & activate Pseudo-prisma effect to use the good effects, then maybe use it as Tribute for a Ritual summon. I think milling in the second effect should also be a cost.

The second bullet effect, from where it is sending the Ritual Monster, and to where it is sending it?

That aside, yeah, it's a quite nasty effect you got here. Many Ritual Monsters have strong effects, but are kept in check due to the inherent mechanics of Rituals, but this card gives you access to those strong effects without bothering with the Ritual Summoning process. For instance, Demise should be a threatening card to copy. I like how this card benefits from Ritual Spells that Summon multiple Rituals, giving it some toolboxing capabilities. And of course, this would have a field day in dedicated Ritual decks like Nekroz and Gishki. Or how about taking advantage of "Contract with the Abyss"? I would say "Earth Chant" too, but it only has 2 good targets in Amorphactor and Odd-Eyes Gravity, while BLS Super Soldier isn't as impressive and would be missing the float effect anyway.

Hmm... wondering if it's possible to arrange some sort of Ritual engine template for this card. I mean, if you could somehow "enginize" this card along, let's say, Nekroz of Trishula and splash it in other decks, that would be evil and funny.

This one sounds like fun. Reminds me a little of Phantom of Chaos, except instead of changing ATK/DEF, it gains their effects. You can get away with some Herald Ritual Monster plays, especially given how this one's a Fairy-Type. Or hey, FINALLY putting Nekroz of Sophia to use. Sure, it'd take adding both it and this card, but it's a fun interaction, like Diamond Dude with mass removal Normal Spell Cards. Or even Demise, King of Armageddon just to clear the field. A neat card that takes advantage of Ritual Monsters. Sure, there's not much cost. But given how Rituals are as they are, it's fine without a cost.

Your opponent goes first. Bam, they bring out a Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon on the first turn somehow. Now it's your turn. You have this card and either "Relinquished" or "Dark Illusion Ritual" in your hand, if not both. Normal Summon your "Pyrolatrous Priestess", and have her gain "Relinquished's" effects. Claim your opponent's "NBEUD". If "NBEUD" is destroyed, you're basically left with a "Relinquished" whose default ATK is 1800, so it doesn't have the same 0 ATK drawback as its predecessor. Additionally, you can use it to Fusion Summon "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" now, which, as we all know, can be a pretty scary monster to deal with (thanks, Pegasus).

This card really has the potential to be powerful (as depicted in my above what-if scenario). It just feels like it could use a bit of balance, you know? Maybe lessening its ATK a bit would help, or adding an effect that restricts your options somehow.

This card is pretty golden IMO.

Ritual-centric strategies have the glaring weakness of being weak to Special Summon floodgates, and this card provides you with potential deck thinning and access to your Ritual effects (even if for one single turn) on a Normal Summon.

It also has decent stats and the thematic Fairy-Type that it shares with Manju and Senju.

It made me think of the idea of a card that could equip itself with the Ritual rather than dumping it, and copy the stats too, and then when destroyed, instead it sent the Ritual Spell and Tributed itself +whatever needed, to Ritual Summon the equipped Ritual........ I'll go to the drawing board for a personal project regarding that.

Oh, boy, SAIBA AYNJELS! This thing just suddenly becomes Benten, tribute it for…anything, really, how about Cyber Tutubon's Special Summon? Anyways, do that, add Vrash thanks to the Tribute effect, then Machine Angel Ritual to Tribute Tutubon and the real Benten, Summon Vrash, trigger Vrash, trigger Benten, trigger Tutubon…I think I like this plan. Someone give that guy a raise.
