Putting flavor text on custom cards (other than normal monsters?)

werewolfwrath

Question

Haven't been on this site in years (mainly got back on to be ready when Duel Portal goes back up) so just want to get something clarified. Something that always kind of annoyed in about Yu-Gi-Oh was that normal monsters had pretty cool flavor text, but no other card types had them. Granted I can understand a card with a really long effect not having one (as it would make all the text hard to read) but there's no reason a cards with a short effect can't have one as well. I never got into Magic the Gathering as much as Yu-Gi-Oh, but one thing I liked about it more was that most of the cards had flavor text on them.

So the actual question here is when it comes to custom cards, are we allowed to post custom non-normal monster card with flavor text on them (provided of course there's room on the card) even if it's just limited to the Casual Card section, or is it simply not allowed because the actual game didn't have them. Just want to know before I try putting some on.

Thanks.

Fair enough. It's not a big deal overall, but something that I think would add a nice touch to it. But from I saw, other users who did the same thing got their cards rated down for that (granted there were other reasons too) and well, I probably shouldn't do something that might get me a lower rating.

That's basically the equivalent of judging a card based on the art, so it really shouldn't matter. Do whatever you like, it isn't anyone's job to tell you what not to do, at least when it comes to nonfunctional aspects of a card.
