Choujuu Musha Kobu-C / Superheavy Samurai Fist

EARTH/Machine/Tuner/Effect

Level 2

900 ATK / 900 DEF

You can only use each of this card name’s effects once per turn.

(1) During your Battle Phase, if a “Superheavy Samurai” monster you controlled destroyed an opponent’s monster by battle, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster using monsters you control, including this card, as Synchro Materials.

(2) If there are no Spell/Trap Cards in your Graveyard: You can target 1 “Superheavy Samurai” Synchro Monster you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except “Superheavy Samurai” monsters, also, that targeted monster loses 1 Level, and Special Summon this card from your Graveyard.

Choujuu Musha Otasu-K / Superheavy Samurai Helper

EARTH/Machine/Effect

Level 1

0 ATK / 0 DEF

(1) If there are no Spell/Trap Cards in your Graveyard, during damage calculation, when a Defense Position monster you control battles an opponent’s monster: You can discard this card, then target 1 “Superheavy Samurai” monster you control, except the battling monster; that battling monster you control gains DEF equal to the DEF of the target, during that damage calcuation only.

(2) When an opponent’s monster declares a direct attack: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 “Superheavy Samurai” monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Both seem like one-ofs.

Fist being able to come back fairly easily is cool, but being dependent on a SHS Synchro to do that? Eh... Fist can turn the awful level 9 into the level 10, so that's something.

Helper... Should have been a SHS Soul monster imo ( kinda just fits that mould). But really its Grave effect is the main worthwhile thing anyway. Unfortunately, it suffers from SHS's 2 big issues: needing setup to really get going, and not having an in-archetype way of Foolishing.

These fill niches, and a pure SHS deck could use each, but they aren't exactly what the deck needed.
