You should probably get some experience RPing here by participating in other member's RPs, then you can go off on your own. With that said, how much RPing experience in general do you possess (have you done it on other sites before coming here?)

This is my first time on a forum and I have yet to join a RP. By the way, how do non OC RPs work?

You would have to take it up with a RP veteran, but would likely involve you having to make your posts in a tone similar to how the actual character was portrayed in the franchise. In the case of a canon character from Yugioh, you don't have a lot of liberty over the Deck outside of whatever they've used overall. (In general, non-OC characters are basically limited to what the writers decided to turn them into in terms of personality, powers, etc.)

And any recommendations on how to get RPing experience? I have made an app for a OC role play before, so I'm not 100% new to RPing. Of course, it was rejected, so I'm more cautious about choosing a RP to join now. If you don't know any tips, it's fine, I'll just pass my question on to a veteran, like Yui.

As already mentioned above, just join any open RP that fits your interests. That's generally a good way to learn how to RP properly. Just make sure you read through the plot and what the constraints are in character design. Did you read through the required form needed to submit your character, and why the app was rejected? (The host should've given you a valid reason as to why the app was rejected; either your character is too overpowered, missing certain qualities, etc.)

Pretty sure there's a rule in RP that you can't host your own RP without first participating in someone else's, so if you have no RP experience here and I'm right about the rule, you shouldn't even worry about your idea just yet because you aren't really allowed to make it happen until you join someone else's RP first. On the bright side, it'll give you some time to flesh out the idea so that you don't just go in with a concept and nothing else. I can speak from experience when I say that's a very fast road to your RP starting off nicely but crashing on its face and suddenly experiencing total annihilation on the molecular level afterwards.

The best way to get experience is obviously to RP, which you'll have to do anyway. I'm not sure what you mean by OC or non-OC RPs; you mean RPs in which you play your own original character by OC RPs? In that case, you'll find that at least 95% of all characters in the RP section are OCs; we have various stances on RPing pre-existing characters across the section. I'm personally strongly against it (and have gotten on Sai's case over it a couple times in Forsaken Legends), but that's not related to your question so I'll save that for later.

You shouldn't be surprised if your first app ever gets rejected. I greatly doubt J.K. Rowling's first shot at writing went on to become a series of best-seller novels, or that the first Melee tournament Hungrybox ever went to ended with him winning by being literally the best Jigglypuff in the world. You get good by trying a lot; not by any sort of natural talent :) my first OCs were horrible, and most likely only got into their RP because everyone involved in that RP was pretty bad and we welcomed stupid sheet that wouldn't fly here.

I might write a guide on making a good app actually. Could be fun.

On a closing note, as Parenthesis noted, I am indeed not hosting anything right now, but I don't intend to host anything for a while. The next thing I host, I want to make it count by actually doing some planning for once.

They did. They said that in his backstory he was so stereotypically abused that it was laughable. I'll try to avoid that for now

If you ever feel you want some advice on anything specific you can PM me. I can't guarantee I can respond quickly (I work a lot lately) but I will try and answer any questions or point out any issues (as long as I don't get flooded with them) if you wish for it.

Thanks!
