Pawns Can't Look Back [Interest check?]

In the beginning, there was nothing. Well, not really nothing, just nothing substantial. There were exactly 6 of these unsubstantial things, in fact. They sat there, gathering what can only be described as pure will. They sat there gathering until there was enough to fulfil the most basic desire: to become better.

So they did. These six things now had substance. The first was a Drop, the second an Ember, third Stone, fourth Breath, fifth Glimmer, sixth Silhouette. With their new substance, came more will, and with more will came more growth. Soon enough, they were fully formed, at least enough to represent themselves as they pleased. We know them now as the BOPE, the Beings of Pure Essence.

After some time, the new beings found themselves uninterested in gathering will for themselves. They decided it was time to play. So, they made The Point and their inhabitants. Each Being of Pure Essence contributed to their playthings. The Drop gave the fluids and feeling of sadness to them. The Ember gave the warmth and the feeling of anger. The Stone gave the flesh and the feeling of calm. The Breath gave, well, the breath, and feeling of excitement. The Glimmer gave the sight and feeling of joy. The Silhouette gave the whispers and feeling of curiosity.

The creatures, with no name given to them by their creators, were cast into the world. We call this world The Point, and we are those same creatures, who we've come to call Pawns. In ancient times, the BOPE set a spectacular game for themselves. Scattered throughout The Point there are twelve items imbued with the Will of the BOPE. Six weapons and six raiments, each granting something special to the wielder. Those relics have long since vanished, lost to the ages.

But now, there are other creatures entering the point. Terrifying creatures. The Point is no longer a safe haven for us. That is why you, a simple pawn in their game, has gone out on a quest to find and wield the treasures of old.

Remember, in this great game, Pawns can’t look back.

[spoiler=The (rough) Details]

PCLB is about you, who just so happen to be Pawns in the world of The Point. Mysterious creatures have started appearing in this world, so logically you go chasing fairy tales. In all seriousness though, the relics do exist.

If this gets enough interest, I feel that anywhere from 6-12 people would work well.

List of artifacts based on which element they're aligned to:

Dark: Scarf and knife

Light: Glove and staff

Air: Mask and fan

Earth: Pauldron and hammer

Fire: Manica and scimitar

Water: Veil and whip

Ideally this is gonna be a fantasy world where magic does exist but not everyone's a wizard or anything. Civilization isn't far enough along to be considered middle ages-esque, but smelting is a thing, and everyone is kinda nomadic. There's six main terrain types (marsh, desert, mountain, plains, valleys, and caves), but environments can overlap into hybrid environments easily.

I have a rough idea of what each artifact does, some more than others.

Pawns are basically human, with a bit of latent elemental power thrown in (for funsies).

You're literally the BOPE's playthings, so have fun with that. Because they're real, and they like interacting with their game.

If this gains interest somehow I'll do my best to flesh it out further. If someone wants to help me do that, I wouldn't object.

I just wonder what electricity would be closer linked to, Light or Air...?

EDIT: Oh, wait, not modern, which means an ability to cast magic would be needed for such a scheme.

Well electricity /is/ possible. I have a system for "hybrid" elements that I'll explain when and if this thing get's a slight bit more interest.

An update: I have started typing out all the details, and boy is there a lot of them. I have so much planned for this and I'm glad y'all decided to help me get it going. That said, a co-host could be a good idea, since my internet is not in the most reliable place right now. A co-host would help me with world building (aka what I'm in the process of doing rn) and plot suggestions if I get stuck, as well as take over for me if i were to disappear. I'd prefer if it was someone in the RP itself, but if no one steps up I will go looking for outside help. No pressure, just wanted to put it out there.

If you are interested in being my co-host, PM me so that I can test you.

ooh, there's 7 of you now. Things are gonna get interesting. I just might have to make death be a factor in this rp..

Also, an update on the fleshing out: I've typed up explanations of the six Raiments, aka the clothes/ armor that give special powers, did some basics on the BOPEs, and am working on the six Arms, aka the special weapons. Kuri has made 3 wonderful creatures so far and they have more planned. I'll try and do some skipping around so that I can get a skeleton app up soon so that this doesn't fizzle out and die.

I have much interest. What exactly will artifacts do and are they set in stone for each element?

 8, now. Neat!

the artifacts are somewhat connected to their elements, and all the pawns know about is stories about the first-ranks (I'll explain soon) and what they could do with them. I have left them slightly open-ended for fun times, but there is a basic outline for what each one can do.

Thank you all for being so patient. If you like, I could invite everyone to a group pm/discord server/skype chat, just so we don't stagnate too too much.
