What game won the first half of 2017?

I would say Zelda, although I'm not finished with Persona, Horizon, Nioh or Nier. Zelda invoked some serious nostalgia for me. I haven't enjoyed a Zelda like that since Ocarina of a Time. Every time I play that game I can find something fun to do or discover something I didn't see coming. It was the quickest time I got to 80+ hours in a game haha. I still need to go back and check out the season pass. While Persona could take goty for me eventually, Zelda is my game for the first half winner of 2017. And what about you, SW? What game takes the cake for you? Please Help. Thanks !

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Please help? By what? Giving our opinions? Fair enough.

Persona 5 is my personal favorite among these games, but that's mostly because it fits the criteria of the games I like to play (Turn-based, plot centric, games with multiple endings). I could probably give a legitimate full-length review but I rather do that later.

Some other top contenders for me are Nier and H0D. I only played a few hours of them, but felt fresh and enjoyable to play, focusing on machine-ruled lands while still maintaining a natural look and feel. I feel like the 10 or so hours I played Nioh isn't enough time to give it the justice it needs for my full thoughts on it. I hate it when people just label something "X with a little bit of Y and Z". Yes, it's obviously Dark Souls inspired, I think the devs even say it, but it's far from a Dark Souls clone. In this era, originality is so hard to come by when we ourselves continuously feed into just what we like and know. The idea of an Irishman becoming a Samurai and slaying demons with the help of Guardian Spirits alone should be enough to make anyone pick up this game. Unfortunately I was only able to borrow it for a short time, but I will pick it up later.

Zelda: BotW comes in at mid-tier for me. Not a fan of the weapon system, or really the narrative tbh. I enjoyed the journey, but it's not a game I'd turn on often. The open world feels great, one of biggest fears is that it'd feel empty and shallow, similar to the older 64 games. But here it feels like something is always going on, and there's always something to do (or get rekt by). Abilities were fun, and made puzzle-solving feel natural and logical. Characters, plot relevant or NPC, feel very familiar and charming. I can't really think of anyone or anything I was really annoyed to see (aside from certain enemies of course). Who knows, I may actually change my mind and start playing it sooner than later and feel charmed and immersed all over again. Injustice 2 definitely raised some standards imo. A cinematic story mode in a fighting with branching paths? Customization of already established characters? Honestly I'm a sucker for any kind of Character Customization/Creation, and this game does these things well. Roster is pretty nice too, but hiding characters behind DLC and making equipment not purely cosmetic adds a sour taste in my mouth.

Now comes the bottom of the barrell. Prey is the first thing that comes to mind. It felt drinking a cold, flat soda; it's a cold drink but it has no pizzaz or energy. The concept was great, but the monster designs felt uninspired. I feel they should've went all out; introduce a compelling story with a hit of horror and/or mystery similar to that of 1987's "The Thing". I'll admit the idea of walking around alone when anything from a box or chair could be an enemy is fun, I just wish the game had more spice and flare. Weapons and abilities were nice, it was especially fun freezing things and breaking them with melee, and even carrying around turrets (though they didn't do much against larger enemies) I didn't finish it, maybe the third or fourth quarter introduced more fun enemies, weapons/abilities or interesting plot points, but the bulk of the gameplay just wasn't enough to grasp me personally. Which sucks cause I really wanted to like it.

Anything else I just haven't played. Though I hear Gravity Rush 2 is pretty good too. It was another game I was hyped for along with Nier Automata.
