Fire Emblem GBA Remakes

With word of Fire Emblem Binding Blade being remade for the 3ds, I figure why not have the other two FE GBA games remade? Plus, they'll have all the bells and whistles the other 3ds games have:

Improvements:

  • Unlimted Supports for all characters, however, there will only be 1 S rank support for each pair.
  • Return of Phoenix Mode
  • A map system like in Awakening where 5 of each certain item is available in shops, like in Frelia, Elysian Whips can be on sale for half the normal price.
  • The graphics used in Echoes, And of course Fully English Voiced cutscenes.
  • DLC, like in Echoes. Imagine, Serra as an Exemplar or Palla as a Harrier.
  • Skills return, including GALEFORCE! to help counter the difficulty of Blazing Sword.

And now, the voice cast, In my opinion the FE Heroes voice cast should repriese their roles for these remakes:

Binding Blade:

  • Roy = Ray Chase
  • Shanna = Marisha Ray
  • Clarine = Hunter Mackenzie Austin
  • Lilina = Julie Maddalena
  • Gwendolyn and Cecelia = Cherami Leigh
  • Fir = Natalie Lander
  • Klein = Edward Bosco
  • Bartre = Kyle Hebert
  • Raigh = Sam Reigel
  • Sophia = Wendee Lee
  • Fae = Sarah Blandy
  • Zephiel = Jamieson Price
  • Narcian = Kaiji Tang

Blazing Sword:

  • Zephiel = Michael Sinterniklaas
  • Bartre = Kyle Hebert
  • Lyn = Wendee Lee
  • Eliwood = Yuri Lowenthal
  • Hector = Patrick Seitz
  • Florina = Julie Maddalena
  • Serra = Kate Higgins
  • Matthew = Benjamin Diskin
  • Lucius = Michael Sinterniklaas
  • Rebecca = Hunter Mackenzie Austin
  • Priscilla = Marcella Lentz-Pope
  • Raven = Bryce Papenbrook
  • Ninian = Brianna Knickerbocker
  • Hawkeye = Jamieson Price
  • Karel = Bryce Papenbrook
  • Nino = Sarah Blandy
  • Jaffar = Walden James
  • Lloyd = Kaiji Tang
  • Ursula = Misty Lee

Sacred Stones:

The only characters we got are Ephriam voiced by Greg Chun and Eirika voiced by Seraphina, Chou-Chou, Bloody Marie, Aerith, Girl Chan, MarvelousAQL, Kira Buckland.

Anyway, thoughts, opinions, ideas you'd like to see implemented? Let me know.

Personally, I'm holding onto my theory that "Echoes" is a subtitle for all future remakes, so we'd get something like "Fire Emblem Echoes: Sacred Stones" and the like. Unless that got debunked and I just haven't been paying attention.

I'll need to get further in Shadows of Valentia, but honestly, I don't think the GBA needs S supports. I would say that they could still have unlimited supports, but A supports generally earned the paired endings anyway. If anything, maybe have something closer to the A+ idea from Fates? Whether or not it would include conversations, I'm not sure, but it could certainly help with class variation.

I like that Shadows of Valentia had a Season Pass for DLC, especially for Over Classes, though I hope they tone things down with DLC as a whole as well. Either bundle some of the DLC together into one package from the get-go (As in, you buy the outright bundle instead of getting some DLC one by one and you might get the bundle), or just have that DLC already in the game from the beginning.

There is already a Roy amiibo from Smash Bros., so that would compliment a Binding Blade remake quite nicely. To fit with that, maybe make amiibos for Lyn, Eliwood, Hector, Eirika, and Ephraim.

Personally, I kind of want to see if they could remake Binding Blade and Blazing Sword in a single package. You can choose to play the games separately, or as a two-part game, similar to Genealogy of the Holy War.

Maybe have some minor references that connect it to other games? Since Awakening had Priam, and Fates and Shadows have a fair amount of connections to Awakening as well. As much as I like Sacred Stones, it's too isolated from the rest of the franchise. Honestly, it's only real connections to other games aren't too impressive, since Eirika and Ephraim are DLC in Awakening, or you can get them in Heroes. I want something more substantial.

I kind of dislike the idea of unlimited supports and I feel it leads to lackluster supports and forced interactions that don't really work.

It's like a bad fanfic where the author just wants to shove every character in every scene.

S rank was a fun idea that got butchered because now every male/female support needs to lead into it and it just doesn't always go well.

Awakening sort of did it right, though, I will admit. It still had some issues however.

GBA games have stellar supports precisely because in the support the character complements each other well either due to their relevance to each other, to the plot, or due to their character dynamics working really well.

If they're more selective with S ranks I'd be really thrilled by it. It makes the pairings far more meaningful if you can't just mix and match everyone, which while it's fun for customization, it's terrible for writing. Granted, honestly you can't really pull a Genealogy with 6 and 7 since there is still a big part of 6 that isn't from 7 and if you just have more kids from 7's character appear in 6, it'd be sucky since 6 is way too stacked with characters already.

Mechanics wise though, I just want a revamped support building system - ideally something like what they use in Echoes.

I never thought about A+, That could be a thing.

What brought this about is that the supports were limited to 5 per character. And honestly I did not know who to pair Lyn with, she seems independent. Actually, she is independent.

Personally, i think it would be fun. No longer being limited to five per character. Like I can have A support between Amelia and Dussell and Amelia and Franz.

Sacred Stones could have Einherjars, heck I think Binding Blade should have a post chapter where we see how Idune is holding up, maybe have her as a playable unit.

Sacred Stones should also have a prologue chapter where there's a battle between Ephriam and Eirika as kids.

There should also be a dlc xenologue for fans like Eirika could side with Hoshido while Ephraim can side with Noir.

And having both Binding Blade and Blazing Sword be one game is a great idea.

Also, this is me, I want units from Blazing Sword be in Binding Blade, not just Bartre, Hector and Eliwood, Maybe throw in a more mature Lyndis too.

And I suppose it would be overkill in Binding Blade to have both Lalum and Elphin in one playthrough. According to Green Scorpion and his top ten least favorite Fire Emblem units, Lalum placed 8th because she has zero personality, lackluster stats but her route gets you Echidna while Elphin, although the better bard, gets you Bartre. Why couldn't we have both?

But that is just me.
