Bowser's once again kidnapped Peach and with the help of his evil wedding planners he's going to marry her! With the help of his new ghost hat friend and fun new demonic possession power (something like that), Mario must once again save her. Also, Pauline makes a reappearance to the series as the mayor of New Donk City, and there are real people and dinosaurs.

I think I've stated this somewhere before, but I always wanted a Mario game where he pals around in a city. And they're delivering on that wish of mine and so much more on top of it. The Capture mechanic is going to be a lot of fun in the creative ways we'll be able to use it and I really like the look of all the different world's we've seen so far.

And this game's presentation was top-notch. One of the best trailers for a video game I've seen in a long time. Will also echo that the theme song's damn catchy.

Yeah, the E3 trailer was really strong. Fantastic music choice, nice proper escalation (such as starting with something totally not Mario with a realistic t-rex for that surprise factor, then jumping back to stuff we're more familiar with like New Donk City, before building up to the Capture mechanic, which is shown off and explained very well for a new mechanic, and going back to the t-rex), and had a good showing of multiple things in quick succession without being overwhelming. I also like that it

I'm loving the mobility in this game, this is a good example of it: https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/799inb/when_nintendo_already_knows_that_people_will_try/

And such a thing isn't even that hard, I've managed to replicate stuff like it consistently.

Also, it's great that Cappy is a legit companion, for some reason it didn't occur to me that he'd be more than just our throwing hat since he's an actual being. I find Mario is always more fun with a party.

I assume the Sand Kingdom is one of the larger ones, but holy sheet 69 Moons is a lot. This style of collection reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie which I like a lot. Being able to grab a Moon and keep going without having to reselect levels is really nice.

I've beaten the game and reached over 500 Power Moons as of last night.

[spoiler=This game]

is one of the most fun Mario titles I've played in a long while. Hell, one of the most fun games I've played in a while.

I gotta say, the big thing they nailed out of the park here was the presentation. The levels look and feel distinct from one another, there's a variety of colorful characters, and the Capture mechanic is an amazing mechanic. I had a lot of fun between going apeshit as a T-rex, scaling walls as that woodpecker thing, reaching new heights as that plant-leg thing, etc.

The whole ending scene was epic as hell controlling Bowser and high-tailing it out of there with Peach, it felt pretty anime too with the ending song. Another favorite of mine was the whole 8-bit run during Pauline's concert and the Donkey Kong homages throughout.

Exploring The Mushroom Kingdom at the end felt like a great reward, it felt amazing running around it right after beating the game. Also a nice touch with the Mario 64 costume...every costume really.

It's amazing how many Power Moons are packed away. Some are hidden a little too well and challenges like the jump rope are a pain in the ass, but that's as far as my nitpicks will go. Broodals were also a little easy, but fighting them all in a row on the Dark Side of the Moon made for a decent challenge.

Amazing game, probably going to be one of my favorites. I'm waiting for the hype to die down to properly assess it.
