Spell/Continuous

Activate this card by paying 1000 LP. During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 "Dragonoid Token" (Machine/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 300/DEF 300) in Attack Position, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, also during the End Phase of this turn, make your opponent Special Summon 1 "Dragonoid Token" to their field in Attack Position. You can use this effect of "Dragonoid Generator" up to twice per turn.

Part of me thinks that the extra deck clause kinda hurts this card, but I can understand why as without it this is a 1 card Link-2, discuss?

Huh, quite an odd one this card is, but for Tribute Summon Decks, it's a consistent way to get 2 monsters to Tribute. Too bad your opponent also has to get one. The good thing is that it only limits the Extra Deck the turn you use the effect, so that makes Decks that use both not break completely. This can work well in B.E.S. too since they are Machine.

A one-card 2-tributes engine isn't really something that sneeze at all. Actually a lot of strategies are going to love to use a card like this, so even if it "LOCKS OUT THE ED", there's still plenty of main-deck centered strategies that would actually really like to use a card like this.

Read the title as "Dragonroid" (with "Generator" appended for no apparent reason); the roid that served as a Dragon-Type for the Cyberdarks when Cyrus got hold of them. Was somewhat dissapointed.

Anyhow, the restriction only applies for the rest of the turn, so you could do all fancy Special summons beforehand… though you'd typically want those tokens as materials. Could still be useful for tribute reliant decks.

In combination with "Black Garden" you get to clutter the entire field with tokens. Though I have no idea how you would benefit more from that than your opponent given this card's restrictions ("Summoning Curse" to get rid off most of all players' hands; way too situational).

I'm pretty sure black garden is just a terrible card now that links exist, to be perfectly honest.

theres this goofy combo with topological bomber  since you can choose which linked zone the token is summoned too :eyes: but everywhere else its pretty zzzzzzzzzz

Kinda wish the "No ED" restriction was applied to the tokens (a la Hippo Carnival), rather than as a temporary turn restriction, but I can't complain. It's an odd card.

Qlis could probably run with it but I think Crystrons could make really good use out of this, I'd think. Won't bring either to the top tables, but gives them means to extend themselves a bit.

Have to admit, I did think of Black Garden plays alongside this though.

EDIT: Also Phantasm Spiral

Hey, that's what I was thinking about!

Though between this and Black Garden, I'd much rather use Black Garden. Sure, your monsters lose ATK, but the Tokens have higher ATK, they come out to your opponent's side of the field much easier, it's got a Special Summon effect, and it's searchable via Terraforming. One thing I'd say this has over Black Garden is that your monsters don't lose ATK. It just looks rather sluggish.
