Corrosive Spit

[Quick-Play Spell]

Target 1 monster on the field; change it to face-up Defense Position, then reduce its DEF to 0. A monster that attacks that targeted monster while it is in Defense Position inflicts piercing battle damage to the targeted monster's controller.

I mean at this point, you could just reduce their ATK to 0, but then again, it's more fun to force your opponent to defend.

Also, this is a Quick-Play Spell? Very interesting. So if your opponent declares an attack, activate Corrosive Spit to force them into Defense mode, ending their attack, and weakening their monster for your monster to chew on.

Fun little card you have here, especially since most decks won't have a way to counteract it (other than just straight negation, and this isn't a card you want to waste your Spell/Trap negation on); it'd force people to consider Defense Position again. If I had to have any qualms with this card, it would be that it is literally just a better version of Block Attack. Play at any time, even on your opponent's turn, end their attack, chew their monster next turn. Perhaps instituting some sort of cost or activation requirement would make it more unique than just a better version of Block Attack. Still, I'd enjoy the card as-is, I'm just noticing that it isn't fair comparatively to Block Attack.

EDIT: Absolutely understandable, as I said, that was my only qualm. I'd still love a card like this to be in the game.

While I get what you mean... Block Attack being as old as is it is one of those many cards that is pretty much expected to age terribly. It would be like comparing House of Adhesive Tape and Eatgaboon to every good Trap Hole card, and saying it is unfair for those cards that a lot of  the Trap Holes include Special Summons. Because of how much the game changed overtime, some cards will simply be forgotten or dismissed in favor of adapting to what is more currently relevant. That is called a powercreep.

There's also a reason why nearly all the cards from the early DM packs are never used (bar staples); because the game got too fast for them to compete (and yeah, better versions arrived). Same is said for some of the cards at the start of each series set; they get plays going, but then are forgotten.

Granted, one of the design policies in this section is that you don't power creep an existing card [that's relatively recent, and still seeing some use]; for really junk cards like the ones from the early days of this game that are gathering dust in the "never-used again" pile, go ahead. I technically missed this being a better Block Attack (but yeah, card is legitimately old and forgotten about).
