Kid Beliefs

(I technically work as a cashier at the water park; technically not true except for any tip money you get from customers. I get other stuff instead at times though, but that's straying off-topic.)

But let's see.

[spoiler=stuff]

1. Having multiple kids (as in more than 6 or something) would be easy and not take resources. Yeah, reality set in a couple years later and the idea was quickly tossed. (If I get married, only 1-2 kids).

2. Something about the actual game being played like they did in Duelist Kingdom / anime (in grade school, morning duels were a thing and yeah, summoning big monsters without Tributes). Also stuff about Blue-Eyes being cool; right now, I'm somewhere on the fence about it now because of the support.

3. English dub was accurate, and stuff was made in the US. (I blame 4Kids for this for Pokemon and Yugioh, because up until I joined YCM in 2009, I had no clue about subs, nor the fact that 4Kids butchered the original.)

Now I wonder how good the subbed original series is; I've only watched Season 4 of GX subbed because it never got translated to English. 5Ds is the only series I've watched both sub/dub (with exceptions). From ZEXAL on, pretty much all subbed.

4. Internet would be a lot more civil place where people didn't swear and/or be jackasses online. Found out how false that was on the first forum I ever joined (which was some trading card site); YCM came later and the vets were bad [some legit trolls and others who took pleasure in bashing newer users].

Oh right, and I thought I could be a moderator because I stuck around for three months. Yeah, I was naive back then (though 5 years later, and maybe 17,500 posts later, give/take a few; I got promoted.)

5. Being a police officer / firefighter was a cool job. (Yeah, both are dangerous professions and underappreciated; especially now with the former)

6. Whatever adults said in casual conversation would be okay to say. That didn't cut it in grade school, though to be honest, the last 2-3 teachers I had at the time were close to what SJWs are classed as nowadays (at least getting offended by certain non-offensive comments).

7. Rail was going to be the fix-all problem for O'ahu, and the anti-rail mayoral opponent [who's technically the chairman of the engineering department at university right now] didn't know what he was talking about or aloof to local ways because he's from Greece.

Was back in 2008-2009 (as a high school freshman); about a few years later, I'm seeing where he was going with it.

(I met the guy in person at the start of the year; he was alright as an individual [i need to remember him in case there arises an issue with courses and I need to get in touch with a certain professor], but a lot of the reviews I've seen of him as a teacher are in the negative. Also he's short [i'm a couple inches taller than him], but I'm digressing.)

I think there was more, but either I can't remember them (or I didn't think about too much) or borders on stuff I rather not talk about.

I'd think that the upside to people who work in food places like McDonald's, Pizza Hut and so forth was that they got to make their own meal there for free or at least get discounts. To a degree, some places do. Though not all operate the same it seems.

At one point I thought I figured out how women have children. A kiss between the woman and her spouse. Yeah, this theory didn't last long.

I thought Guinea pigs were bigger hamsters.

When I was a kid, I was absolutely convinced that I could grow up to be a tree.

I guess I was only slightly wrong, I became a bird instead.

This reminds me.

As a kid when visiting the cemetery I came to the conclusion that when people died they either became trees or squirrels. Because of how many of those I saw around the cemetery.

I used to think that fireworks were sticks of dynamite with food colouring, tossed into the air by medieval catapults.

I used to think that my parents each knew everything that the other did. I would get really angry when my dad wouldn't know about something I'd been talking to mum about because it felt like he was deliberately being ignorant.

I used to think that you could Normal Summon an infinite amount of times per turn, and that in your draw phase you drew until you had 5 cards in your hand.

I remembered another one. Ed, Edd n Eddy gave me unrealistic expectations of jawbreakers.

I know right. I remember thinking this as well.

Same. Then you actually get a real one and you think "This is it?".

I also used to think that people with the same last name were related. So back when I was 8, I thought one of my classmates was the son of my teacher.
