Does anyone feel these cards could be released unnerfed in the game currently and not cause any problems? Seems like all these effects are pretty tame and well balanced.

Treasures of the Dead:

Are we talking either player's GY here? Either way seems like an OTK card to me. Ancient Sacred Wyvern, Neo Parshath, Winged Dragon of Ra, Machine Emperor Grannel, and a near guarantee that Ancient Leaf becomes consistently live as an Extra Pot of Greed.

Honestly gaining LP is such a near impossible thing to balance out in Yugioh. I don't think other games have it easy handling this concept either. They either easily become problematic or they plain lack a goal to go for....

Ebon Sun:
This is also overkill LP gain. I can take it as OPT similar to Supply Squad though. Same for the GY effect. Some decks have an unholy amount of revival potential, even if we are talking about LP gain instead of pluses here.

Annihilation Light:

This one sounds interesting but it is a nasty End Phase Torrential play for the opponent's turn, and we still don't quite have things in a way that all Dark Holes and Torrentials can be maxed out legally so I can only say it might be iffy.

Wolrd of True Darkness:
The LP gain effect is kind of crappy. This card is pretty much a stall card so the user won't be going around destroying monsters while it is active. Though as much as we have plenty of removal nowadays, I am not really into the idea that removal is the only balancing factor for a card that prevents furthering the primary natural win condition of the game for an undefined amount of time. Especially as a Continuous Trap because protection for those exists.

IMO, at least.

I'm going to edit to the OCGrammar, and maybe balance them so that we could use them for Duel Portal (if I could get it working)

Treasure of the Fallen

Normal Spell

Gain 500 LP for each Spell/Trap with a different name in your GY. If you gained more than 2500 LP with this effect, you can add 1 Normal Spell from your GY to your hand, except "Treasure of the Fallen". You can only activate "Treasure of the Fallen" once per turn.

Wanted to make the card a bit interesting than just LP gain, considering how no one really uses LP gain in the main deck. The once per turn is so Exodia can only run 1 of it if they want to try to FTK with it.

Umbra of the Sun (Ebon Sun + The World of True Darkness)

Field Spell

If your opponent would take Battle Damage: Gain LP equal to the damage they would take.

Each time a monster in your possession is destroyed (either by battle or card effect): Gain LP equal to that monster's ATK.

If your LP reach over 15000, destroy this card.

I feel if you have that many LP, you should give your opponent a break. If you keep having to gain LP, then you probably need it. Also made an impossibly kick-ass name. (Since Suns cannot have an Umbra)

Annihilating Light is fine as a staple. Honestly, it would be cool to release it, but we already have Struggling Battle.

uh guys

annihiliation isn't good

dark hole on "SS2" is cute, but it's super funking slow, even for a trap

struggling battle is meh and this is worse

they're all bad really

After some more thought on these, I've come to the conclusion that the first card wouldn't do much more than what Spell Absorption already does. Minus the need to be face-up but ultimately with a pretty much identical build and end result... and actually, minus the potential Spell Absorption has for loops (that are banned anyways), so yeah, I guess it could exist.

Though it seems rather.... effortless in the ability to stack up LP.... IDK. It sounds like it could easily go for +6000-8000 LP.

The field nuke could exist too though I still think it'd be pretty good to activate it on your opponent's End Phase.... It isn't super flexible but it is chainable and doesn't require any real setup, so it'd only really be bad if it could only activate during the timing of the wipe.

I don't think True Darkness would be banned either. It is like Chicken Game minus searchability or the drawing effect, and Chicken Game was only banned for that draw effect sooo yeah. Though still it isn't a concept I am particularly fond of.... By virtue of ways of removing this card which doesn't really restrict plays, it'd be possible to have....

Ebon Sun I read it wrong the first time. It increases ATK rather than LP for revival.... That makes it fun IMO. We already have a card somewhere that does something similar. I don't remember its name but it had something to do with III from ZeXal hmmm.... The other effect is a strictly better fountain in the Sky. That should be interesting.
