"Great shot, Yue!"

The archer barely heard those words, but she did hear the words afterward. "Watch out!"

She opened her eyes just as she saw Ada attack a skeleton. Which was...right next to her. Spirits, it's so close! Yue was a little afraid, but mostly fascinated. She could see every detail of the monster, from its bleached bones to the hollow eye sockets. She reached out a hand for it, almost without even thinking, before suddenly drawing it back when a blast of dark energy burst against its chest. Glancing at Ada, she blanched when she saw how injured the girl was.

Is...this because of me? she wondered briefly, but she didn't have the time to mull it over, because the girl started to speak right afterward.

"Gah, that smarts..."

The archer shuffled her feet, partially from discomfort from her own wound, but mainly because she still wasn't sure how to handle the fact they were fighting monsters. But she couldn't afford to be hesitant if she wanted to fight alongside the Iron Falcons.

"I'm glad you're alright, Yue. We should probably head off to help some of the oth-" The shaman paused before whipping around. Yue followed her gaze and let out a whimper. Just beyond another thicket, a pair of fighters was headed toward the two girls. "... Scratch that. I'm going to go hold them off, go let Leon know that the bandits found us."

B-but I can't just leave her alone like that! Even if she is a little scary...she helped me, so that means I should help her too. Yue's legs shook, but she took a deep breath to steady them. This was one reason she wore a hanfu normally. Nobody would notice a little thing like knocking knees when they were too busy looking at the traditional designs of her clan. Plus...they reassured her in their familiarity.

Still, she knew if she didn't get help, then things could be worse off. Gulping, the archer turned to dash off, when she saw Rona approach! Her heart leapt in joy. Rona! Rona could help, she could turn the tides around, Rona would be able to save Ada! ...Rona looked a little injured.

Yue stared at her in concern before shaking her head. Now wasn't the time to be worrying about that. Briefly shouting, "There are more bandits here!" toward the south, where the rest of her comrades were, she glanced at the situation before her. Now that there was one more, then if she joined...then wouldn't that help more than getting help from people too far away to do anything right now? Because she could do something, and she would much rather fight human beings than monsters.

Mind made up, Yue moved till she was right next to Ada. Yes, she was injured, and yes, this made it much more likely that she would be attacked, and actually oh spirits she was right next to the bandits she was going to be attacked--no! The archer shook her head wildly. I-I have to do something. I have to help...I want to help. And these people aren't monsters, they aren't innocent creatures doing what they were born to do, these are mean, nasty, angry human beings! Her face firmed. And nasty human beings need to be taught a lesson! Lifting her bow, the girl took aim. "I'm here too!" she said, before letting loose an arrow at the closest bandit.

[spoiler=OOC]

Yue moves to just south of Ada's new position and attacks Fighter A.

"Chitose, as much as you might feel that we're flanked, it would be best if you actually tell someone first rather than going off her on your own."

Aleithe went as fast as he could towards Chitose's side just as she dealt the counterattack to the bandit, and wasted no time to address the fellow noble even when he was still catching his breath. He chose to drink the vulnerary again to restore what was left of the wound in his body for now, before he went into a stance with Reina as he eyed the bandits, seeking any movements that he would need to respond to.

"We are from the Iron Falcon Mercenary. Bandits, drop your weapons immediately and surrender this once. You will surely got a fair and just trial if you choose to surrender."

Chitose/Servan Woods Entrance

"But, but I informed everyone already." After the barbarian emerged from the bushes and Chitose struck him with her sword, Aleithe caught up to her. Sadly the bandit in front of her was still standing, and now he had cover with the bushes surrounding him. Withdrawing a few steps back, Chitose prepared herself again by drawing out her smaller, lighter blade. She was likely to be reprimanded after this was over but for now she had to concentrate. Of course, she was glad anyone showed up to help her at all but... "Aleithe, the mercenary over there seems very dangerous. I was going to slowly draw him out but should he target you instead, please be careful."

"Also, um, I thank you for coming to help." Then, as Aleithe gave warning to the three, Chitose rushed in again to cut.

The hound jumped at Cassia yet again! You just don't let up, do you? Cassia plunged her knife into the beast once more, before it finally gave in, hitting the ground and dying. Much better. She wasn't really one to admire killing animals, even if she didn't like them that much, but the thief wanted to take a moment to appreciate how perfectly she'd dealt with that hound. Killed it all by herself, without the thing biting her even once. Good thing too; who knew what sort of diseases that thing might have had crawling around in its pearly whites?

Cassia didn't have long to appreciate her handiwork however, before she felt a blade run down through her body. A quick scream of pain escaped the thief's lips as she turned her attention to its source. A skeleton. "I was celebrating, you little sheet!" Cassia swapped out her typical knives for something a bit more heavy-duty. That skeleton went and made her mad. She wanted it dead, and she wanted it done quickly. As such, Cassia swung her trusty dagger at the thing. She also made sure to watch its sword hand as best she could while laying out an attack of her own. That first sneak attack didn't sit too well with her, and holy hell it hurt. Like that entire half of her body was filled with way too many needles or something, not helped at all by the burning feeling around her new cut.

"Layne, be a dear and get over here would you!?"

[spoiler=OOC]Cassia attacked Skeleton B with her Iron Dagger. Designating Skeleton B as a counter target.

Layne winced as he watched Cassia take the blow from the skeleton opposite her, a little grumble escaping him as he rubbed at his head, "I'm coming, Cassia."

He let out a little sigh as he gripped the staff quickly, tossing it from hand to hand briefly as the the tip of the Heal staff started to glow, picking up the pace as he ran over to Cassia, standing behind her as he twirled the wooden pole just a bit, light exploding from the tip of it as he bonked her on the back with it, a little mumble escaping him, "Can you see what's going on with Rona, or is she too far off for you to get a good look? I'm afraid she's gonna get herself killed like last time."

His focus wavered a little bit as he looked at the skeleton, waiting to see if it fell from Cassia's strike, his grip on the staff tightening as he shook his head, "I can take a hit from that thing if it targets me, I think. Just finish it off for me." His serious look wiped off his face quickly as he smirked to the thief, the white light surrounding her starting to patch up the wound she suffered from the blade, the cut starting to patch up, skin stitching back together, leaving a scar in place of the previous injury, though the pain didn't quite leave poor Cassia right away. The memory of the pain might even send twitches of it along her body as she moved around.

"Sorry about that taking a bit. Don't strain yourself, the pain might linger a tiny bit."

[spoiler=OoC]

Layne moved to the space below Cassia and healed her for 19 HP, back to full.

Heal Staff 1 is now at 35 uses remaining.

With a the stroke of Cassia's dagger, the skeleton she was facing broke apart, falling to the ground and leaving the girl by herself. Nodding at the sight, Leon looked around to see that the rest of their group was engaged with the bandits currently, and decided to go and join them. Looking to Layne, he gave a brief nod as the healer went to work on the injured thief, and he himself started to move out. Seeing that Yue and Ada had the two fighters until control, Leon had decided to go and aid the two sword fighters of his team, trying to get an idea of what was going on with them.

Enemy Phase

The fighter sneered at first as the heavy robed girl ran right in front of him, axe at the ready. However, his expression dropped as he saw the girl bust out her dark tome, firing off the dark magic and killing the man behind him. Gripping his axe tightly, the man was about to attack, only for two arrows to lodge into his torso, causing him to double back a bit. Seeing the archer and the shaman before him, fury filled the fighter's eyes as he looked towards the dark magic wielder. With a raged swing, the man swung his axe at Ada, however, through the cover of her thicket, she was just barely able to avoid getting an axe to the side. This was then immediately met with an orb of black smoke like material, as Ada cast her spell at the fighter, knocking him down to the ground, dead.

While Chitose's sword had managed to slash through the barbarian, striking swiftly twice, the man was bloodied but not defeated. Standing up, though barely, in a rage he swung his axe towards the myrmidon. However, the girl's natural agility had allowed her to easily dodge away from the slash. The leader of this, now, trio, stepped around to meet the Kinshi Knight as they made their proclamation. "Iron Falcons?" He scoffed. "Do you think we got where we are today because we let some group of sellswords tell us what to do? Please, a trial? Ha! Listen here lady, I am Dilbert of the Desert Riders! And I will be your executioner!" With that, the man brought his sword up, and struck into the side of the kinshi rider. While the blow was nasty it wasn't debilitating and allowed for Aleithe to bring their own sword for a counter.

While Dilbert had managed to bring up his shield to block against the blow, it merely absorbed some of the force, but the blade otherwise went its course, slashing against the man's torso. Looking to the other two axe wielders, the frenzied one attacking Chitose brought its axe up and swung downward. While Chitose's speed and stance lent itself well to dueling the man before her, the axe seemed to have the correct course to strike her. However, in the sight of the attack, her foot slid across the dirt ground, causing her stance to break and position to shift, just narrowly avoiding the axe. The Kinshi Knight, however, was not so lucky. As the second barbarian made his way to her, he leaped off the ground, bringing his axe up in a diagonal slash,  cutting clear across Aleithe's body. While Aleithe was not in critical condition, they were clearly heavily injured.

Player Phase

BGM

Seeing the fighting take place, Leon's eyes went wide as the axe struck one of his oldest companions. "Aleithe!" Running towards the two sword wielders, he was not in any position to actually fight back however he ended up next to the two. "Aletihe, fall back to Layne." Looking at the three bandits, the man cursed himself for allowing the two of them to get put into these dire straights. While annoyed at himself, Leon turned towards the female and said, "Tita, are you holding up alright? Sorry, for leaving you two to deal with these by yourself." The mercenary leader then braced himself awaiting the bandit's next attacks.

Rona watched with a bit of awe as Ada not only dodged but also finished off the opponent. Who was weakened by Yue. Both of them so brave...and they managed to take down their opponents without much trouble.
She really was inadequate...

Rona shook her head and turned Cormag into the direction of the last remaining foes. There was still something she could do!

Except...they were so far away. Her foolish running had gotten her in a position where she couldn't attack any of the enemies yet again. Blinking rapidly to keep the tears of frustration at bay she spurred Cormag towards the battle. Trying to get as close as possible.

Chitose/Servan Woods Entrance

Blow after blow came, to which Chitose dodged and avoided. So far the battle was proceeding scarily well. Even when the axe being swung seemed to be heading straight to her head, her own foot slipped and saved her. Her back bent and stance still broken, she was about to draw her iron sword to deal the finishing blow before the barbarian could react, when she saw the other barbarian and the mercenary ganging on Aleithe, dealing to the other noble severe wounds.

"ALEITHE!" Chitose abandoned her half-dead opponent and repositioned herself. She could get back to the barbarian later, this was more important. She drew from her pouch a Vulnerary and held it towards Reina, gesturing her to take it. "I shall cover you two so they can't follow, retreat back!"

Their leader Leon were now besides them. "I'm fine! More importantly we have to make sure the bandits can't follow him!"

Again Chitose drew her slim sword. It wasn't time to hold back by using a lower quality sword. Because Aleithe followed her, he got this injured. She had to give her all to protect the noble now.

[spoiler=OOC]Chitose moves to below Leon, prepares to counter Mercenary with slim sword. Also if desired, Aleithe can take the vulnerary.

Ada readied herself for the lead fighter to come after her as his companion fell, only to be met with just as much surprise as the bandit when two arrows lodged into his chest like lightning. Yue popped up alongside the shaman, her string drawn, ready and willing to fire. A small smile crept over Ada's face as she prepared her spell, aiming it between the trees as she pulled a branch back with her free hand.

"I thought I told you to go tell Leon?" She asked, her voice happy despite the usual context of such a question. The fighter took advantage of the situation, taking a swing at her. Without missing a beat, Ada let go of the branch to catch the swing, and released her spell to blast the enemy back. His lifeless body hit the ground with a thud as Ada hopped out of the brush, placing a hand on Yue's back and flashing her a bigger smile. "Thanks for the assist. He might've hit me if he you hadn't thrown him off his guard."

Ada pulled her hand away as Rona shot over the unlikely twosome, cocking a brow at the sight. She followed after the wyvern rider, motioning for Yue to come along, looking through a thicket as Rona took a moment to look around. Ada wanted to call out to Rona, to ask what was happening, but she held her tongue as she saw the Jourian girl's furtive glances. She must be on edge... Ada looked about, making sure to keep Yue in her vision as she looked for any other enemies in the wings.

"I can't...go back now..."

A mistake in his calculations. Aleithe was careless and had allowed the second barbarian to enter a position that made him being ganged by two of the ruffians at once. He looked at his pocket. His vulnerary was still had one use left, he could still stand here and protect Chitose. She had been able to handle herself so far, but Aleithe realized her prospect was grim if she would handle all three on her own.

"I shall cover you two so they can't follow, retreat back!"

"But!" Reina took the vulnerary that Chitose handed out, but he was still hesitant on what to do, at least until Leon arrived on the scene.

"Aletihe, fall back to Layne."

That was an order, an absolute one at that. Aleithe was so close to talk back to his leader about it, but he was silent in the end. He's right, standing here like this would only get him killed, which would be a blow to the group. And he couldn't leave Reina or his family behind, couldn't he?

"I see. I will retreat now, leader."

Aleithe tapped the side of Reina's head and she turned around in a speed that would make any horses jealous before rocketing towards Layne's position.

"...I'm sorry for running on my own, but it was because I saw Chitose was in a dire situation. How are things over here?"

He still occasionally looked behind, being wary on how Chitose and Leon handled the bandits there or were there more bandits than they know, but he also realized that Yue and Ada were being attacked too, and he still wasn't able to see Rona yet.  He really had no idea about what to focus on now, and what he could do was gritting his teeth harder in his attempt to appear as composed as before.

Enemy Phase:

"Heheh! That's right, you better run!" The leader of the bandits seemed to only have his confidence bolstered as Aleithe retreated. Twirling his blade around, he advanced and looked to the two sword wielders before him. "Well, lookie here. What do we have?" Looking towards Chitose with a wicked smile across his face he said, "and what might you be doing here? A weapon like that is hardly fit for a pretty little thing like yourself to be holding. Why don't I teach you how to use it, up close and personal." While Leon's gripped tightened around his blade as he glared towards the leader, before he could do anything to stop the man, the bleeding bandit had charged at him, Axe raised and ready to attack him. While the mercenary leader had been able to dodge out of the way, he was caught a bit off guard and was unable to follow up to clear the path a bit.

Meanwhile, the sword wielding bandit charged Chitose, thrusting his sword forward. While he was certainly skilled, Chitose's natural agility proved to be great enough to dodge the blade. As she followed up with a strike of her slim sword, the man raised up his shield to block against the attack. While the majority of the impact was absorbed by the attack, his arm jolted back as the bandit winced in pain. Stepping back into position, the man kept his stance ready, continuing to look towards Chitose with clear enjoyment on his face.

Meanwhile the last axe wielding bandit was unable to get through to attack either of these "Ironing Falcons." Moving around to see if he could find such a way to aid, the man soon noticed a girl atop a wyvern flying at high speeds towards them. Much preferring to take on a giant bird as opposed to a mini-dragon, the man didn't seem too confident as he went to intercept the girl, but did his best to look threatening.

This was her chance! Rona took a deep breath and wiped away the small amount of tears that had leaked out while she hesitated. The bandits were before her and her allies were in trouble, if she didn't act now she would be branded a coward.

Not minding her injuries Rona charged forward and, letting out a battle cry, attacked the bandit behind the two assaulting her allies. It frustrated her that she couldn't help them more directly but if she felled this opponent it would all be worth it! At least that's what she told herself. In her mind, twisted by anxiety as it was, she was beginning to link her success here on how this one fight turned out.

"I thought I told you to go tell Leon?" Ada asked, her voice happy despite the usual context of such a question. She flashed her a bigger smile after defeating the bandit. "Thanks for the assist. He might've hit me if he you hadn't thrown him off his guard."

"Y-you're welcome," Yue stammered, though she doubted that her hit had anything to do with it. Still, she felt the fear that had clenched its way around her heart loosen somewhat.

The shaman crept forward, motioning for Yue to follow as she looked around for enemies, which the archer was about to do when she heard a voice shout.

"Iron Falcons? Do you think we got where we are today because we let some group of sellswords tell us what to do? Please, a trial? Ha! Listen here lady, I am Dilbert of the Desert Riders! And I will be your executioner!"

Executioner? Yue gulped. That was...strong language, and very, very bad. It meant that somebody wanted to execute them, that somebody thought they were good enough to do so, even after all that had happened. The girl froze in her tracks, unable to move forward for a time.

Except she couldn't do that. She had to be there for her comrades. Except she couldn't do that either. No, she was just too...cowardly.

And then she heard the clash of fighting, and saw Rona...brave, fearless Rona, even injured, moving toward the bandit. I...I can at least get a little closer...right? So she ran down as far as she could, keeping Ada in her sights. She still wasn't sure what to think of the girl, but in the end, they had both helped each other, so that had to count for...something, right? Eventually, she stopped as soon as she got behind a thicket, hoping none of the bandits had seen her approach.

Yue moves down to two spaces above Leon.

"I'm coming, Cassia."

Just as the thief had requested, Layne was there - and in quite a timely manner too - healing her wound and asking her if she could see what was going on with Rona. She couldn't quite make out what was going on over there. Maybe it was the wound drawing her attention away, but that was patched up soon enough, followed by Layne suggesting she not push herself. True to the suggestion, Cassia took a brief moment to breathe a bit, do a tiny bit of stretches, and gather herself for whatever was going to come next. Her gut was telling her this fight wasn't over, and as she glanced over toward where Chitose had gone off to, she understood just why that feeling was the case.

The fight was not over. And those weren't just skeletons and dogs either. They were people. While they were certainly outnumbered, Cassia didn't want to be left out. Plus, Aleithe was heading this way. He'd definitely seen better days, looking at him. Best to leave him in Layne's care and tag herself in as his replacement. "I'll be helping with the fight over there. Take care of Aleithe, okay?" And with that, Cassia took off, hoping the fight wasn't over before she arrived.

Raynor shook his head as the skeleton fell apart. He wasn't sure exactly what was going on any more. All he mentioned was that he thought his fellow Jourian needed to heal up, seeing as she took a beating, and the next thing he knew, she just flew off, like he had offended her, or that she thought he would kill him. This was very odd, very odd indeed.

He saw the wyvern rider rejoin her group, which was good. Quietly, he began to walk in the direction she flew off. If they were distracting the bandits, he could use this time to find his partner. If he could free him before the battle's end, these bandits would know the fury of a Draytter.

As Ada turned away from Yue to look after Rona, the girl and her wyvern made a move at breakneck speeds. She was instantly upon an enemy just out of Ada's line of sight, sounds of the clash quickly filling the air. Her mind worried for the worst, Ada shoved herself through the foliage to follow after Rona, Yue forgotten in her desperation. And then it happened.

It wasn't quite what Ada feared. Rona was still alive, but it looked as if both the wyvern rider and the bandit had taken heavy damage from the clash. Unsure if there were any others near the pair, due to the forest, Ada began chanting with a sense of fear, worry, and indignancy, and instinct led her feet to movement anew.

"She's doing it again...! She's going to get herself killed like this, but not if I have anything to say about it!"

The shaman raced to Rona's side, readying her spell. As she flung her hand down, the orb of black mist was upon the bandit, hopefully felling him. She readied another spell for the sake of safety, speaking short bits to Rona amid her chant.

"Are you... Alright... Rona?"

With the axe wielding bandit right in front of him simply on his last legs, Leon went for one last thrust. Running his blade through the target, the bandit dropped his axe, collapsing to the ground thinning their numbers to three. Right before him, he could see one other bandit, still full of vigor and ready to go. With only him and the leader of the bandits left, Leon tightened his blade and readied to advance, only to see a familiar wyvern swoop in and an axe belonging to Rona to find purchase deep in the shoulder of the bandit. He yelled in pain as the attack connected, nearly falling to his knees. However, keeping his body surprisingly steady, the man raised his axe and struck at the wyvern and its rider with one countering attack. While he was getting ready bring his axe back up for another swing, a ball of dark smoke flew from underneath the dragon, striking him dead in the chest and forcing him to the ground.

As Chitose struck with her first attack, it continued to be little more than a glancing blow against him, with him striking back with his sword cleanly into her side. As the girl brought her sword up for another swing, the man had raised his shielded arm, absorbing most of the blow but still wincing in pain from the force of it.

Enemy Phase

Swinging the blade to the side, the man flourished his blade. "Well, well, a silent type eh?" He looked towards the girl with the same confident look in his eyes as he had had at the start of their duel, assured that he would be able to take her down. However, this confidence started to drop as he realized that all of his men had also been disposed of. The man hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should surrender. However, with no life to go to if he did, and the boss likely having his head if he did as well, the bandit steeled himself, the grip around his blade tightening. "Well, I'll make sure you all squeal before I go down!" With that, the man lashed out with his blade towards the girl again, causing a large gash to form across her armor from the attack.

Layne took a deep breath as he rubbed at his eyes, a little groan escaping him as he caught his breath. He took his staff and hefted it up into the air, the tip of it starting to glow bright white once more as he turned to face Aleithe once Cassia had run off. His staff rose up as he passed Aleithe, coming to pause next to him, the flash of light from the tip of the staff surrounding the noble as the healer let out a little groan, "...Fatigue got to me for a second there. I think I kinda zoned out."

He coughs for a moment as he look a little glance to the east, watching the battle unfold over there, a little grumble escaping him, "I really hope that Ada can get Rona to come back to me, she's going to get herself killed and I don't know what to do..."

He let out a little sigh, a deep breath escaping him as he turned back to Aleithe, giving a little look towards the other as he tilted his head up, "I'm starting to think you'll get yourself killed too, seeing how deep you went there... Be careful, okay?"

Layne grumbled a tiny bit, taking another glance towards the battle raging on, before wincing as he saw the hit their archer took from the bandit. His eyes narrowed for a moment, calling out quickly as he hefted his staff up, "Chitose! Get over here, the rest of you try to cover for her! If you can't take this guy out, at least build a wall so he can't get over here!"

[spoiler=OoC]

Layne moved four spaces to the right, healed him for 19 HP, back to full.

Heal Staff 1 is now at 34 uses remaining.

It hurt...gods did it hurt. But she was alive. She was alive and she only had to hit again to finish him off. She could do this, she could defeat this foe! And this time she wouldn't need to be a burden to the rest to do so. All she had to do was dodge this next attack, could she do it? It was coming in fast, too fast!

And then she saw the telltale signs of magic as Ada once more saved the day. Rona felt a twinge of jealousy. Magic was so powerful...what was she to something like that? She was absolutely nothing in the face of magical power.

"Are you... Alright... Rona?"

"Of course!" Came her automatic response. However as she stared at the body of the bandit, she realized once more that she likely didn't even need to be here. She still hasn't proven that she can pull her weight, she still needed help to fight even a simple foe.
"Should a warrior become a burden to another, should they prove unable to fend for themselves, then they may as well throw themselves on the opponent's blade."

She looked at the boss of the group, the last of them, at his sword....No, her father's words weren't literal. They meant that the only use for a weak warrior was to take the hits meant for better warriors. She could do at least that.

She flew towards the man, letting out a war cry, and swung her axe at the opponent. Even if she didn't hit she could at least draw his attention.

[spoiler=OOC]Moved down two and attacked

The bandit knew he was surrounded and paid close attention to his surroundings. While he was expecting the girl in front of him to simply retreat after the attacks he had dealt to her, the man's attention was then focused on the plain boy near him and his real target. However, the wyvern rider shot forth with speed he wasn't expecting, and so by the time he turned to face her, his footing wasn't actually good enough for him to be able to evade out of the way. Worse yet, his quick turn caused him to stumble back a bit, meaning he couldn't even raise his shield in defense of the attack. All of these factors combined into the girl's axe not only finding purchase in him, but the sheer force of the attack breaking past his shoulder and partially digging into his chest. The man didn't make a noise as all the air escaped him all at once, the look of pain on his face evident as the sword dropped from his hand and his simply stood there, motionless. Once any force was taken off from the axe, the man would collapse to the ground.

With the bandits defeated and there seeming to be no monsters in the immediate area, Leon looked around, and then back towards both Chitose and Rona. With a nod he said, "good job guys." Looking to the others around he said, "good work. Iron Falcons, the fight is over." Letting out a deep sigh of relief, Leon then looked to see the terrible wounds that both of them had gotten, saying, "now both of you, get to Layne to get treated." Addressing everyone once more he said, "let's rest up here for the moment before we continue onward." Leon knew it was a big risk to just stay put, as more monsters could ambush them at any moment, but he didn't know where else they would go. In all of this, he had yet to actually see and thus realize there was a new face around in the area.

[spoiler=OOC]

Rona attacks Dilbert and crits for 33 Damage, Dilbert is dead. Very dead.

Immediately in view of Leon, Chitose and Rona would be the leather shield that Dilbert was using, seeming to still be in perfect usable condition unlike the rest of the bandit gear.

Also, check the actually ooc here for more details.

Rona was shocked to feel her blade enter the man. She was even more shocked to see how deep the wound was. She wasn't that strong, she was sure of it, so she supposed the weight of her weapon must have been the cause.

She winced as she took a few moments to pry the axe out of the man. It made a sickeningly wet noise as she yanked it free, causing bits of blood to spray out. The body dropped and she had to look away. She had seen many deaths but being this close to such carnage was still...disturbing.

Cursing herself for not being strong enough to handle such a thing she looked up towards Leon in time to catch him saying good job. A small, gentle, smile crossed her face at the praise, but it wavered a bit when she realized that she probably would have been defeated had her allies not weakened the man, and then it grew twice as big a moment later. "Of course, how could I lose to these fools?"

She saw Leon's gaze turn to the newcomer. He had assisted her before, and she should thank him, but it would be easier if she kept her distance. if she approached the man it would mean she would have to extend her act to him. Were he to just move on after this then she wouldn't need to worry about another person learning her secret. She wouldn't avoid him directly but she didn't have to go to him.

In fact she had a perfectly fine reason to stay back. "Cormag, my dearest comrade." She said, voice dripping with affection. "Are you unharmed?" And so Rona began looking over the beast, making sure he was unhurt. She didn't even for a moment consider getting Layne to heal her first; she needed to know Cormag was alright before anything else.

Yue heaved a sigh of relief at seeing everybody safe and sound. "Phew," she breathed. "I'm glad that's over," she muttered to herself with a small voice. Honestly, she had been a bit worried near the end, well, actually, throughout the whole thing, but all was well that ended well, right?

Rather than face the scary newcomer, she decided to just sit down and rest, smiling at seeing Chang'e come out of her robe to look around at everybody with an unimpressed look.

"It's too bad I didn't get to talk with the monsters any," she told him, "but there's always next time!"

The rabbit rolled his eyes.

"Hey, don't be like that," she said, holding up a carrot. "I bet you're hungry, aren't you, Chang'e?"

The rabbit took the carrot and stuffed it down his mouth.

"Now, now, don't eat too fast, or you'll get a tummy ache."

However, her restlessness, caused by fear, took over eventually, and she left the rabbit to his eating to get up and talk to Leon. "So, where are we going?" she asked, and then glanced at the scary man again. "A-and what should we d-do about him?"

"I'm starting to think you'll get yourself killed too, seeing how deep you went there... Be careful, okay?"

"There wasn't anyone else that noticed Chitose then. Should I die there, at the very least I would die saving someone's life."

Aleithe's expression remained as neutral as Layne healed him, and by the moment the healer was calling out for Chitose to return, Aleithe had boarded Reina again and dashed forward back to the frontline. But...by the time he reached there, Rona had come and dealt the finishing blow to the enemy leader. A large weight felt like it was lifted from his shoulders. Nobody seemed to have perished from the group, thankfully.

Aleithe approached Leon, and decided to ask him something.

"Should we find a location to set up camp immediately? I don't believe the group would be in a position to continue marching after this ambush."

As Leon was checking the wounds on his body to see how immediate the attention he needed was, to which he realized he was fine, he saw Yue walk over to him. When she asked what they were supposed to do next, the boy looked unsure as he said, "well, I guess we'll get patched up and ready to go to the bandit's fort." It was then that Aleithe had come over to ask him about setting up camp, asserting that the group was probably not in any shape to keep going. He was personally fine, though, it seemed that not everyone was so lucky. As such he didn't want to press them any harder than would be wise, but he also wasn't sure if waiting around longer in the belly of the beast was a great idea. "We can, probably. What does everyone else think?" After addressing everyone else, Yue pointed out something else to him.  The girl then seemed to look more nervous, pointing towards the man with the eyepatch, that made Leon look a bit shocked. He hadn't seen the man at all up until now, and he was clearly not from around these parts. People traversing these woods was already strange as it was, but a Jouran, especially this far south, was something else entirely. Looking a bit more guarded, the boy asked, "uh, who are you?"

Cassia was by all means headed over to help out with the fight, but it seemed that by the time she arrived, it was all over.

"Good job guys. Good work. Iron Falcons, the fight is over."

...fine by me. If Cassia didn't have to get her hands dirty with the person the whole group was up against, all the better. Some saved injuries on her part, not to mention there was no rule stating that she had to take all the glory in every mission. She didn't care about that sort of stuff anyway. What mattered was a nice cash prize at the end of a hard battle, and the chance for some invaluable loot. The latter of course being her motivation for this mission. As eager as she was to get going and find those precious treasures the bandits no doubt had hidden away in their fort, it seemed not everyone shared her gusto for the job.

"Should we find a location to set up camp immediately? I don't believe the group would be in a position to continue marching after this ambush."

"We can, probably. What does everyone else think?"

"Well," Cassia interjected, "as much as I'd love to get to those bandits and take their things, I'm sure some of us could use a quick breather."

However, Leon's attention was soon turned to the... other person. Cassia's followed. This person wasn't an enemy, but he was definitely not one of the Iron Falcons either. Talk about fishy. Cassia subtly reached for a throwing knife, just in case.
